Hello Mr. Weisman. I am currently rediscovering and rewatching Gargoyles and I have a question about Elisa's brother Derek Maza. I know by his last appearance in the show and SLG comics that he his still in his mutant form. I've been curious to know, was there ever a plan for Derek to someday be cured and turn back into a human or was he always planned to remain as Talon. I had hoped that he would be cured but I'm a little sad for the character since he's still stuck in that form. Despite his stubbornness getting him into that situation in the first, I had hoped Derek would still get a happy ending by becoming human again.Haha it's just something that's been nagging at me, thank you in advance for any insight you are able to give Mr. Weisman.

2) Is Grodd a more powerful telepath than Ms. Martian?
Most people who know me would say I'm book-smart, but not street smart. (I'm a little like Dustin on Stranger Things.) I have an unfortunate tendency to not be politically smart and blurt out exactly what I'm thinking. Sometimes it gets me into trouble.
How do you deal with that as someone working in the entertainment industry? What do you do, just for example,if someone asks you what you think about the current Spider-Man cartoon, and you happen to think that it sucks? What do you do if somebody asks you what executive producer John Doe is like, and you happen to think John is a jerk? Do you lie? Do you massage the truth? How do you do that? Can you give some examples? As someone who will probably always be socially inept, I'd love to know.
Teach me, oh wise one.:)
I don't know why you did not continue on as story editor on season 2 of Rebels, but I think it is unfortunate. The show would have been better with you on it. The animation is spectacular but I find the characters boring.
Which members of the team know martians age slower than humans by the time young justice invasion ?
Mister Greg a few questions. Why did M'gann use her shapeshifting powers to give herself shorter hair in young justice season two than the longer hair she had in season one of young justice ? How can Miss Martian have a stronger bound with Garfield after his mom died before begin he living at the cave if she didn't visit him often ?
Does Uncle John believe his niece Miss Martian will live the average lifespan of a martian in doing outlive her human teammates in young justice ?
Why did Garfield not tell Miss Martian how queen bee made his drive off a cliff into a waterfall when she visit him after his mom Marie was murder ?
Hey Greg I got some questions regarding young justice and Atlantean magic.
On land we know only people born with the talent like Zatanna or Zatara can use magic (not counting artifacts like fate's helmet). Hence the reason Batman is not a wizard.
So my questions are:
1.- Given we have seen plenty more of human civilian magic users on Atlantis compared to land , does this means that all atlantans have the potential to use magic? or They just have a higher amount of talented magicians?
2.- Given Aquaman lacks magic powers and Ocean Master tried to steal Mera's magic, is their lack of magic powers due to lack of study on magic or they just weren't born with magical talent?
3.-Is Mera's magic derived purely on study? With that I mean, not counting her hard work. was she born with her raw power?
4.- Why didn't Ocean Master or Aquaman considered studying magic to gain magic powers like Mera?
Thank you Greg!
And another question from me. I feel bad for doing so much, but given these are like a year away I kinda want to talk advantage of now before the flood of YJ season 3 questions.
I wanted to share my thoughts on W.I.T.C.H
Your writing was superb, but I did wonder why it failed to beat WINX club on popularity despite having your superior writing. WITCH was popular on Italy, but otherwise it's not the cash cow franchise WITCH still is.
I read a bit of the comic and some of the show season 1 (things you didn't do). My impression is that the concept was great, the artwork was gorgeous. But the execution was flawed.
W.I.T.C.H had for the most part poor villains from the source material. Phobos despite being their "nemesis", their joker to their batman, is particularly as flat as a sheet of paper. Evil without any redeeming qualities whatsoever. The complete opposite of your great villains.
Phobos whole character is basically "I want ultimate power and I will always do evil" He is so predictable that he will backstab or do evil always.
WINX had the advantage there as the trix definitively are more interesting. It would seem as they took notes from you as they are like you said "a twisted reflection of the hero."
The girls were very overpowered in the original comics. I glanced the wiki and they have even more powers than Superman, each. Say Hay Lin can turn invisible or "hear the past" and for example and not even Avatar Aang or Korra can do that.
Now your influence was great as you did a great job with Nerissa improving the source material giving her depth she didn't had. You never disappoint on villiains.
By saying it was too easy for them,I'll give an example. It's telling how on season 2 (before you worked on the show) all the girls had their "soulmates" . While Peter was still struggling with love on season 2. Also on season 2 the main couples Wally X Artemis and Superboy Miss Martian were struggling in one way or another. By the end of Gargoyles, Eliza and Goliath still had room to grow as a couple and so on.
I feel a lot of character development was stolen before you got to them. But I think you did the best with what you got.
For a magical girl show the magic trinkets was unnecessarily complex, I think. Meaning all of them had to be close to the heart to transform and close to WIll. WINX had them not dependent on a jewel. As far as kids playing as WINX they had more fun without a doubt. But again this was from the source.
As for the girls you defitiveley wrote them better than WINX. But I feel that girls wanted to be more like Bloom (their redhead lead) than Will. Bloom was a secret flame princess or something and Will had divorced parents. Which made Will more relatable but less escapist.
Regardless I just want to say that I loved what you did on that show. In fact I only checked it out because you worked on it.
I would love to see you develop a magical girl show, but on your terms.
So my question would be, what are your thoughts on it?
Keep the good work!
Hey there it's me again. Sorry for asking so many things, but I admire your writing and love your shows.
I have two questions regarding your storytelling techniques.
First How do you manage to always see up us guessing? I know you're very protective on spoilers. But I mean, how do you plan these seeds of questions in our minds?
I have a lot of questions you won't answer because they are spoilers. But how do you manage to make us want to know in the first place.
Your questions are like Hydra. Whenever you answer a question we have as fans (like who are the members of the light) two more questions take their place.
I've heard you mention that you would do series forever if you could. But how would you do that with licensed properties?
Specially after you said you do like characters growing.
Sure with Gargoyles you said you could keep the story after Goliath dies and sure you could make a lot of villains and plots. We already got Alexander Xanatos in the future for one.
But what about Spectacular Spiderman? by season 2 you had already introduced like 90% of his most famous villains. How could you've kept things fresh without creating original characters?
And with Young justice, not complaining about time skips, but eventually all of them will become adults right? Wouldn't you be running out of teenage superheros by time skipping?
I know you're skilled writer. But it seems like theres no way on making these lost longer and keep character growing without creating new characters that aren't part of the franchise.
I'm very curious. Thank you greg!
Can Blue Beetle's armor create a grappling hook? I mean, he obviously doesn't need one because he can fly, but if he did?
What happens to the ammunition, like the staples, that Beetle leaves behind?
Where does the extra mass come from for Beetle's weapons and equipment?
Do "Martians" as we know them (such as J'onn, M'gann, and B'arzz) have a name that they use amongst themselves to refer their particular species that goes beyond the planetary designation? Humans, for example, could also be considered "Earthlings," but we tend to think of ourselves and each other as "humans" before we think of ourselves as "Earthlings," and I feel as though that still largely applies to Earth-16 despite people on Earth becoming more and more aware of sentient life on other planets. Is there a Martian equivalent to "human" in that sense, or do Martians call each other "Martians" (or, of course, whatever the Martian language equivalent of "person from/of Mars" is).
This same question could apply to any alien species, I suppose (Kryptonian, Rannian, Krolotean, etc.), but with Mars being a populated planet so relatively close to Earth and its inhabitants being capable of interplanetary travel, it makes me very curious how Martians contextualize themselves as a species. If this question crosses into spoiler territory since we've yet to really see Martian civilization in the show, I understand and apologize. Thank you for your time!
Hey there Greg I wanted to clarify and fix question I asked you a while back about how making comics more apealing to the general public.
I correct myself as DC's Rebirth is indeed fantastic.
However new 52 was a disaster (their superman was awful) and Marvel is having a crisis of having low sales of these writting. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/07/books/marvel-comics-diversity-thor-hulk.html
The think is comics are very niche.
Best selling comics from the big two are at best on the hunred thousands (if they are lucky). And we are talking big names like Spider-Man or Batman.
They are dwarfed by TV. But not even the convenience of TV being free an accesible is an excuse becuase Manga (aka japanese comics) again dwarf them by selling on the millions range.
There was a time Fawcett sold in the millions. Yet today most people simply aren't atracted to comics.
A big issue in my opinion is how the continuity os a nightmare. Just a glance at the retcons and illy explanations like "superboy punched reality" are a nightmare to follow for new comers.
As an outsider I see chaos and very confusing plotlines. But yes as you pointed out "zooming in" there are plenty of fantastic comics.
So my question is, how would you make comics more appealing to the general public?
How would you fix all these continuity nighmares caused by cosmic retcons like having hundreds of retcons ( superboy prime, antimonitor, etc)
Thank you Greg. Love your shows.
Hey Greg the topics on my questions are about popularity. The other day I was thinking abiut gargoyles, and W.I.T.C.H and I always wondered why it didn't get a far better mainstream appeal.
This was odd for me as gargoyles being your baby, it does have brilliant writting and well developed characters.
I mean sure it does have a relative big following , theres a fan hosting this very site. But on the whole of dinsey propierties Gargoyles is a bit on the obscure side of things. I apologize if that comes as an insult. By the standards of a 90's disney cartoon your show is reasnably well rememebered, sure.
But had the fanbase being larger, the comic would've lasted longer I think.
I rather consider this a paradox. A brilliant show with great writting doesn't gett that much attention. Consider for a second how ducktales got a revival, and gargoyles is still waiting despite our best wishes as fans.
I think I found the reason.
Gargoyles lacks escapism.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing. You love your show and just how things are. Nothing wrong with that. I don't want you to change what you love.
Gargoyles are supposed to be feared and disliked as the whole point of them is a statment against prejudice. That's the entire point.
But it does affect their popuilarity.
Say people might want to be like Nightwing or spiderman as teens with incredible lifes. But I think few people would want to be a gargoyle hiding from the world.
People admire Goliath but I don't think anyone (mainly the kids of the audience) would like to be him nor Hudson or Lexington.
X-men has also the prejudiced characters. But there's a line of kids that would love to be like Wolverine or even Mystique.
I think it's safe to say that nobody would like to be in Puck's shoes.
Xanatos, Fox and oberon were probably the closes to escapist characters given their confort. But I think that's a stretch give the gargoyles are the focus.
So my question is what do you think?
How much Impulses "Act" became genuinely who he was
an was really happy to Barry for reasons other than his mission
Hey there Greg, I got some questions regarding Mary Bromfield of Young Justice.
As a Superman fan, I was very happy to read that you had big plans for Supergirl. I honestly can't wait on seeing your take on her as I'm sure whatever it is will be a great arch. I can't wait to see how Superman and Superboy will react to her or how Conner will react to her being stronger than him (assuming you don't have a plan to weaken her). Which is likely given she might be too powerful for the team.
However... I also gotta wonder if you have plans for her spiritual predecesor Mary Marvel (Sargent Marvel here I think). I think she also has the potential to be just as cool as Kara.
I read her original Fawcett comics and sure she is very "goody two shoes" and "uncool" by today standards. But given you always get to the core truth of every character, you might now she was actually very progresive for her time.
While Supergirl was forced to hid herself and her powers form the world, On her debut Mary saved both male heroes (Billy and Freddy) by punching the bad guys and not long after she was given her own solo comic in which she also often saved the day with her powers without being a damsnel in distress.
Again doesn't seem like a big deal, but considering she was from the 50's she is a strong female character, I think.
Given the opportunity I think her character has a lot of potential to be a big fan favorite as Billy is.
So my question on her are:
1.-Whitout giving spoilers on your version of her, what is the core truth on her character for you? Did I nail it?
2.-Do you have just as big plans for her for Mary Bromfiled as you do for Kara?
3.-You have confirmed she has been on the team. With that in mind, Is she empowered by the same gods as billy or is she empowered by 6 godesses?
If she is empowered by godesses instead, could you confirm or correct me if they are these?
Ariaadne or Artemis
Aurora or Aphrodite
Thank you GREG. Grettings from Mexico I am a big fan of your work.
Hi, sorry it's been a year since you responded, but I forgot about this site. When I asked about yj captain atom power compared to yj super man, I meant in terms of physical strength, speed, durability. Stuff like that. Depending on story, atom is shown as slightly weaker JLU, equal (comics)or more powerful ( injustice)than super man .
Hey there greg i fiorst want to say that you're a writer I admire deeply and try to emulate you my writting. One dream of mine is seeing you writing a full Superman series (m,y favorite superhero). I know silly, but I fee like you would be fantastic
Onto my question.
How do you manage to keep us guessing with so maby questions. I mean whenever you answer a question there seems to be another around the corner.
How do you acomplish that? I mean most writers when they answer the big questions, theres nothing else to. Yet with you whenever you answer something a new question rises.
Thank you greg
Did Garfield's hair and skin turn on same day in young justice universe ?
How many times did Miss Martian visit Garfield after he lost his mom?
Young Justice Season One Review
I didn't have to work Labor Day, so I spent it binging the second half of season one. I'm of two minds on the season as a whole. Thematically, it was about team-building, specifically through trust and revealing secrets. M'gann was hiding her grotesque (by Earth standards) real body is the best example I can remember, but there were others. In the last couple episodes they spent a lot of time baring their souls to one another, and they became a stronger team as a result. There were little character traits early on that got expanded over time. M'gann's catchphrase was annoying until we learned where it came from (a sitcom by those hacks Brandon Weisman and Greg Vietti). Red Arrow was obnoxious and I couldn't stand him, but then we find out it wasn't his real personality but conditioning from The Light. It ends on New Year's Eve, a great time for reflection.
On a plot level, though, I'm not as enthusiastic. The individual episodes generally had pretty good plots (the Halloween ghost story was one of my favorites), but the season long arc seemed kind of weak. Mainly, it's that there was a very long build-up to a masterstroke that was resolved very quickly. In the last episode, Vandal Savage and Thom Adcox (I don't remember that character's name) takes control of the entire Justice League. HOLY CRAP HOW ARE THEY EVER GOING TO- the Young Justice team frees them all in about ten minutes. It struck me as an anticlimax. Then Savage just left and talked about "phase two" of the plan. You've often referred to "Big Bads," a reference to Joss Whedon's standard plot structure, but in a typical season of Buffy the Big Bad would be utterly defeated at the end of the season. Maybe The Light are more like Wolfram and Hart from Angel. Well, it's not a big complaint from me. I enjoyed the season by and large, I just felt that they foiled The Light's plan too easily. On the plus side, I love Savage's monologue about survival of the fittest. He also referenced being thousands of years old but didn't explain further. I imagine if I knew DC comics I would know a lot about him, but instead I'm willing to enjoy the ride.
I already have season two, so I'll start watching it soon. Since it's called "Invasion" and Savage ominously referred to "phase two," I'm guessing it involves some sort of alien infiltration and Savage is worried that the Justice League has made humanity too soft to resist. I could be totally wrong, of course, but I'm eager to see where it goes.
How Long did Mark Desmond work at Cadmus before he was recruited b the Light
why did he look so Genomorphy as Blocbuster
an did he know his Intellect would leave him upon his transformation
In honor of their upcoming 50th anniversary
Why do you think the Duo of Hawk and Dove have struggled so hard in the Modern incarnations -post 2005, Dawn/Holly and Dawn/Hank Redux- compared to Hank/Don and Hank/Dawn 1.0 which are more fondly remembered?
I've recently rewatched Awakening, and the scene where Goliath tells Demona that she can't kill an enemy unless it is "in the heat of battle" sparked a question in me: as of Phoenix, which members of the Manhattan Clan have actually killed someone?
Did it take M'gann a few years to teach Garfield how to use his power change into animals ?
Question Why did person or people in charge taking care Garfield after Queen Been kill his mom allow M'gann to visit Garfield?
Did Garfield Logan ever run away from the person or people he was living with after Marie died before becoming a resident of mount justice ?
Did Garfield Logan start living at Mount Justice before or after Conner and M'gann who pose as Megan Morse graduated from Happy Harbor High School?
MR Greg you said Miss Martian visit Garfield after his mom died. Why did she visit him after his mom died ? Did she visit him often or rarely? Why did she finally make Garfield her adopted brother ?
How are you doing Mr.Weisman?
1.I had a question regarding spoilers for YJ season 3.I could be wrong but since the new season is going to be on streaming site similar to Netflix where you could binge it, how would you approach questions about spoilers for the season when it comes out?
In the rise of tv shows being streamed on individual networks how can we support Young Justice and other shows like it? If this is a really simple solution, I am sorry as supporting shows and comics like this has been really complicated in the past with pre orders and toy lines and I would like a professional in the industry to clarify if it is not too presumptuous.
In "Performance", did Wally deliberately start making a bologna sandwich right before calling Dick SPECIFICALLY so he could make that joke?
Mr. Weisman, I just wanted to ask you a question about Young Justice S02E19 Summit: During the fight on Santa Prisca, Ra's al Ghul instructs his allies and followers not to resist because the heroes have no jurisdiction on Santa Prisca. I'm a bit stumped by this since the Team later arrests their defeated opponents and we've also previously seen the Team arrest villains after a battle that also took place on Santa Prisca in S01E25 Usual Suspects. So, was Ra's somehow mistaken about the Team's jurisdiction on Santa Prisca or what? It seems to me very strange that Ra's would be misinformed about something like that. If you could clarify what happened there exactly, I would really appreciate it because that question always bugs me.
Is there any chance for W.I.T.C.H to come back? The show was beyond perfect and it DESERVES MORE! P.S Thank you for existing.
Assuming the future that Bart Allen comes from will be called the "Reach Covert Invasion Timeline," then what would the name of the new future timeline be called...? The "Meta-Human Civil War Timeline"...?
Will "Young Justice" have its own Flashpoint-based storyline in the future...?
Hi! My question is about the TV series "W.I.T.C.H". I have grown on this wonderful cartoon, and reaching the age of eighteen I have a question: will there be a sequel? I'm a big fan of this series and I hope at least for one season.
First of all, I am SO HAPPY Young Justice finally got a third season (God knows the show deserves it) and I can't wait to see what you've come up with (especially regarding Darkseid). So, I've been re-watching the series and I wanted to ask you a few questions about the episodes "Summit" and "Endgame":
1) In "Summit", Savage mentions that the Light bribed certain individuals on Rimbor (I realize he didn't say it was the Tribune, but who else could it be?) in order to ensure the League is found guilty. So why didn't the Tribune declare them guilty in spite of Conner and M'gann trying to convince them otherwise?
2) In "Summit", when the fight broke out on Santa Prisca and Klarion teleported himself, Savage and Teekl out of there, why didn't he also teleport Ra's, Manta and the Brain, given how important members of the Light they are?
3) In "Endgame", when Luthor contacted the League via United Nations transmission and offered them his help against the Reach, Atom said that he (Lex) and the Light are responsible for the current crisis and Lex replied: "Perhaps, but as I believe you know, the Light always planned to betray the Reach." Lex said this in front of UN Secretary General Tseng via UN transmission, so my question is: doesn't this implicate Luthor in collaboration with known felons (as well as various other criminal activities) and couldn't it be used against him in the court of law? I'm asking 'cause Lex usually doesn't slip up.
Anyway, I hope answers for my questions aren't spoilers and that you can freely answer them because they really bug me when I start thinking about them. I've searched a great deal and I don't believe that they've been previously asked by anyone. Once again, I LOVE your show and the way you handle so many characters from DC's vast universe and am really excited about seeing what season 3 has in store for us :)
Hello Again, Here's question I do have for the 'Gargoyles' comics
In "Masque", when Billy and Susan Greene dress up as Jackal and Hyena, around that time Are They Aware that The PACK are Crimanals? Since they're Kids I would'nt be surprised if they did'nt but Surely their Parents watch the News and heard of the PACK committing real crimes and would try to Discourage their kids from watching the show, Or do they just Love the PACK's Show and Don't care what their parents or even the News Says?
If Artemis does take up a new identity for herself when not Tigress or the black suite in season 3, has she given any thought to wearing glasses and her Hair differently when not in costume?
Hi Greg. Very excited for Young Justice: Outsiders. Finally glad to see Arrowette make her animated debut :)
1. What exact species would Cassie Sandsmark be? Her father is a Greek god and her mother is a mortal human. Wouldn't that classify her as a Demigod?
2. How old Helena Sandsmark?
3. Is Traci Thirteen Asian or Caucasian? The reason I'm asking this is that her concept art at Comic-Con makes her look more like the latter.
4. How cruel are the Lords of Chaos'? Do they get a nice kick of seeing mortals from different planets killing each other?
5. In Denial, Klarion mentions Nabu as an "old fart". Does this mean the latter is far older than the former?
Hello Mr. Weisman,
I just watched Spiderman Homecoming, and many incidents within the movie reminded me A LOT of your beautiful work of the Spectacular Spiderman. I re-watched the entire series again! I love the action, comedy, irony, romance implemented in the series! Needless to say all of us fans of spidey are disappointed of the circumstances, but I want to how will us fans of your work move on from it since we want to see this series revive again? Literally all I see on YouTube are clips from the series and viewers commenting how much they want it back ( and so do I..I am even cried). And also how are your colleagues ( crew members) from Spectacular Spiderman series are doing?
I just want to thank you for creating such an amazing show back in 2008 as many more writers are inspired from your work, and I hope and I hope there will many more work from you
First and furthermost thank you for not giving up on Young Justice and encourage us, the fans, to help bring back what will be Young Justice: Outsiders and hopefully future projects.
My question is, since many team members (Barbara, Karen, Tim, etc.) lack a background of their superhero origin/story, do you ever plan on revealing that information at some point and if so how?
I hope the comics return as well but in all honesty I believe DC will wait for the results on Outsiders to make their decision but if we waited this long for the series we will survive for the comics.
Did Garfield start living at mount justice the same year his mom Marie died by queen bee?
1) I'm not sure about the comics, but as far as I can remember, the United States is never mentioned by name in the show. Does the US exist, and does it have the same borders as on our Earth?
2) The following cities have all been confirmed to exist in the Young Justice universe already. Are they in the same countries that they are in on our Earth?:
Taiwan (China, Rep. of)
Fort-de-France (France: overseas region of Martinique)
Seoul (Korea, South)
3. With Ranagar as the capital of Rann, is Rann itself an independent country as well as a planet? Or does it have some other political status, such as part of a larger interplanetary entity, or does it have its own Rannian UN with member countries?
4) & 5) Same as 3, but for Mars and the Polygloture of Rimbor.
Thank you for going through whichever of my posts you have time for. I really appreciate it!
What are the names of the following characters' species?:
1) Does a country have to be part of the UN to sign the UN Justice League charter?
2) As of their last appearances, which of the following countries are in the UN, and which does the Justice League have the legal authority to intervene in?
a. Atlantis (not in UN as of Usual Suspects)
d. Rhelasia, North
e. Rhelasia, South
f. Santa Prisca (Ra's al Ghul seems to imply in Summit that it is not subject to the JL charter)
What are the names of the following characters' species?:
b. Monkey (S1E21, Image)
What are the names of the following characters' species?:
d. M. Mallah
What are the names of the following characters' species?:
a. Alanna, Sardath and other Rannians (is this a demonym, an ethnonym or a species name?)
d. Galet Dasim
e. Gorilla Grodd (there are two gorilla species)
1) What gender (if any) does Ultra-Humanite identify as?
2) Can M. Mallah or Ultra-Humanite speak? If so, can they speak any human languages?
3) Of the non-human Genomorphs, how many of the different breeds constitute different species?
4) Can any non-human Genomorphs reproduce via "natural" means?
I hope you're having a great day. I was wondering: what were the college majors of:
1 - Clone Roy
2 - Nightwing
3 - Wally West
4 - Superboy
I couldn't find anything on specific college majors in the archives. If you have answered a question like this before, then I apologize. Thanks!
These couple are a little closer to spoiler territory, but I could also easily see you being okay saying just a little:
1) Did Artemis Crock use an "real" name alias while undercover as Tigress? (if so, could you share it?)
2) What was Ra's al Ghul's birth name?
3) Have you considered any other characters as possible Lords of Order or Chaos? (not looking for names, just if)
4) Did B'arzz O'oomm (or who/whatever was in control of him) use a human alias while on Earth? (if so, could you share it?)
What are the "real" names of the following villains?:
a. Black Manta
b. Icicle, Sr.
c. Queen Bee
d. Tommy & Tuppence Terror
What are the "real" names of the following heroes?:
a. Crimson Avenger
b. Doctor Occult
d. Rose Psychic
I realize some of these questions may be spoiler requests, so I'd really appreciate it if you could answer any parts of the questions that you can.
If Outsiders has aired or started airing, could you please include information up to whatever date it currently is in series, as opposed to 07/05/16 (Endgame, S2E20)?
1) Can you confirm or deny, and hopefully correct, the numbering for the following heroes/villains sharing noms-de-guerre?
2) For heroes/villains missing their other names, could you please provide them?
3) For any heroes/villains who were missed in numbering (such as another Kid Flash between Wally and Bart), could you provide their numbers and names?
4) If there any other heroes/villains sharing noms-de-guerre that you're aware of, could you please share their noms-de-guerre, numbering and names?
5) Would you define Doctor Fate as the nom-de-guerre for Nabu, or for his hosts? Your response to this may affect the list below.
Flash I - Jay Garrick
Flash II - Barry Allen
Green Lantern I - Alan Scott
Green Lantern II - Hal Jordan
Green Lantern III - Guy Gardner
Green Lantern IV - John Stewart
Black Canary I - Dinah Drake (Lance)
Black Canary II - Dinah Lance
Atom I - ?

Blue Beetle I - Dan Garrett
Blue Beetle II - Ted Kord
Blue Beetle III - Jaime Reyes
Robin I - Dick Grayson
Robin II - Jason Todd

Guardian II - Jim Harper
Guardian III - Mal Duncan
Firebrand I - ?
Firebrand II - Danette Reilly / Red Inferno
Icicle I - ?
Icicle II - Cameron Mahkent
Thank you for your help!
By the time you read this, Outsiders will probably already be out, but best of luck!
Hi Greg, I wrote this same message ealier but I didn't write my name, I wrote the basic question.
Have you ever considered developing a new Spider Man series that serves as spiritual successor to The Spectacular Spider-Man or create a new one from scratch but has some of the same elements, themes, and storylines of the Spectacular Spider-Man and have it streamed on Netflix?
Hi Greg, have you ever considered developing a new Spider Man series that serves as spiritual successor to The Spectacular Spider-Man or create a new one from scratch but has some of the same elements, themes, and storylines of the Spectacular Spider-Man and have it streamed on Netflix?
Where there any plans during the production of the Avalon world tour for the travelers to wear outfits from the London, Mayan and the ishimura clans?
You indicated in a tweet that Thirteen is Asian. Is she part Asian like Artemis? I ask because her ethnicity is not obvious from her character design. Also, is Thirteen Asian in the comics, or was this a creative liberty you took?
It occurs to me that I repeated a question you had already answered. I asked why some villains work with the Light even though the Light may not be working towards their best interests. Your original response was something like: not everyone understands what the Light's motives are. Sorry for the repeated question.
I want to get the Audio Play of "Rain of the Ghosts"...but it's impossible to get if you don't own a credit card or are from outside of the US...is there a chance to sell it on Amazon? (it would solve your problem with low sale rates if it were just easier to buy it)
What's the smartest observation that you've ever seen a fan make about one of your shows?
what else lives in the Gargoyles Universe? are there trolls and if there are, are they Animals or Children of Oberon?
Out of curiosity: what do you think the members of the original team from Young Justice majored in, assuming they went to college. Like, what does Dick and/or Wally or Roy plan on majoring in/studying?
Just to start of, I wanted to say how much I LOVE your show. Very well written and creative. Keeps me on edge and yelling at my TV! I've never watched a show like yours. It legit, became my favorite show after watching the first episode! Although I watched and heard about it two months ago, Young Justice is a work of art.
Anyway, with that aside, here's my question:
Since Young Justice is going to premier on the new DC streaming site, how far are you going to go when it comes to sensitive topics? We know that human trafficking is a major button pusher but, are you going to go further in that? Like add some other minor sensitive topics? And, is there also going to be swearing, the mention of anything sexual, etc?
Can't wait for season 3 praying blue beetle and impulse ( Bart & Jamie get together ) will be epic more epic than korra & asami from legend of korra
I want to start off by saying Im a big fan of your work and I cant wait for Season 3 of YJ!
One thing I've noticed in regards to Young Justice is that there aren't any new characters (characters that haven't already appeared in the comics). I can only think of two other DC tv shows off the top of my head that have introduced a new character. Batman Animated Series (If I remember correctly, Harley was introduced for that tv show) and The Batman (Because I know Cash and Krank weren't in the comics) So I know it isn't completely out of the ordinary for a tv show to introduce a new character. But as far as I know, Young Justice hasn't released a new character.
So here's my question. Are you guys just not allowed to introduce new characters, you guys decided to stay within the limits of the already set DC Universe, or both.
If I'm wrong and there has been a new character you guys introduced then which one (s) are they?
Hi Mr. W, I've been a big fan of Young Justice since I was 12 (I'm currently 16) I really love your work on Young Justice and I was wondering if all the original voice actors/actresses will be back for season 3. If that question was a spoiler than my backup question is, what was your most memorable moment from working on Young Justice.
Thank you for reading x Ruman
How powerful is Superboy relative to the Justice League? For example, is his strength greater than Aquaman or Martian Manhunter's and does he match up to Captain Marvel?
Why would Black Beetle be stronger than Blue Beetle? Are not all scarabs made equally?
Well first, thanks for taking the time to answer these questions and congratulations on YJ Season 3.
1) Is Superboy the physically strongest on the Team at the moment? It feels somewhat ambiguous with the introduction of wonder girl and the ease with which Aqualad knocked him out.
2) Would M'gann have been powerful enough to defeat Despero or Black Beetle with her powers if it hadn't been for her previous trauma?
3) How do inhibitor collars actually work? On enemies like Blockbuster or Mammoth, I get that they disable superstrength, but they would have those as an extension of their size anyway. Do you have any particular idea behind the collars' mechanics?
Thank you for your time.
Im glad season 3 is happing and i hope bluepulse will happen i just hope the writers have the balls to make it happen even if it doesnt happen in the comics it can still happen on the show and maybe the comics will follow that after they have a big fanbase out there the reaction will be big lets make history.
Hi not looking for spoilers but i love blue beetle and impulse is there a chance they will be a couple in season 3 i sure hope so it would be epic if the writers do it justice.
Was the original Jim Harper in the All-Star Squadron? If not, and the clone Guardian was never in the Justice League, why was his suit in the Museum of Justice in Cornered?
P.S. Thank you for answering my previous question, from what I gather through reading, your Gargoyles Time Travel worked similarly to the theory in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, predestination...Bart's story never seems to address that in the comics. xD Looking forward to S3 in Earth-16b!
I thought you might be amused to learn that not long ago, the Titan Comics "Doctor Who" comics did a story where the Doctor (the Christopher Eccleston version) and his friends were tracking a living gargoyle (actually, a human who was turned permanently into a gargoyle - long story) through the woods at night, and encountered a young woman also searching for the gargoyle, who was wearing a red jacket, black t-shirt, and blue jeans. The jacket had a different design than Elisa's, but the overall look of her outfit was close enough to make me wonder if it was intended as a "Gargoyles" tribute. (Then again, Ellen Yin's similar outfit in "The Batman" turned out to be - apparently - a coincidence.) I hope it was intentional - meaning that someone working on that comic still remembered "Gargoyles" after all these years.
Hi Greg, in young justice are there any restrictions on using wildstorm, vertigo and milestone characters? If so what are they?
1.What year on the Young Justice timeline was Traci Thirteen born?
2. When/how did you find out that WB had renewed the show? What was your initial reaction?
3. Regarding Spectacular Spider-man, I know the show was set in its own continuity but I wanted to ask about an interview with Joshua Fine where he said he initially wanted to connect Avengers: EMH to it. If you were allowed input is this something you would have approved/disapproved of or be indifferent to (especially considering you had other ideas for the greater marvel universe)?
Here is his quote
"I will say one last thing about the whole universe cross-over issue though, since I still see lots of misinformation flying back and forth. I was about halfway through working on Season 1 of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes when development of Wolverine and the X-Men season 2 was getting underway. And in my devious mind, I realized that-as Supervising Producer of both shows-I was in a unique position to potentially start building a Marvel Animated Universe tying the two shows together. Early on in Avengers we began to seed some very subtle nods to the other universe, including reference to the MRD and Wendigo being held in a SHIELD Super prison. I had some fun thoughts about how to cross-over the two series eventually, and in my craziest pie-in-the-sky imaginings even creating some connectivity with The Spectacular Spider-Man (this was before that show's next season was confirmed to not be happening as well.)"
Hi Greg, huge fan of young justice and can't wait for season 3. I was just wondering with static being in the show, how that came to be. Was there any issue getting him in the show since he is a milestone media character, and how were you able to convince them to let you use him? In theory can you use any milestone character you want? Can you use the wildstorm and vertigo characters in the show if you want to or is there certain restrictions?
When superboy went to college, what did he major in?
Have you seen the new Ducktales reboot? If so what are your thoughts on it?
Why did Jaime Reyes keep quiet when the scarab was about to kill impulse? he stayed all the time trying to do anything but when he is about to kill his "best friend"(?) he just shut up- (it could be just something that have no sence but for me this is important) thanks (sorry for the mistaes, i'm portuguese)
I checked the archives and I couldn't find this question so,what do you think of new 52 superboy?
Hi, if possible, I'd like some clarification on a topic from S2Ep5 that I can't find an answer to. When assigning a squad to handle Queen Bee, Nightwing states that she has the ability to control men's minds, thus getting him in trouble with the girls for justifying their squad. However, I was under the impression that such a justification would not be accurate, given Batman's previous statement that her powers work "on some women." I believe this was proven to be the case in the comics as well, though I may be misremembering. If so though, did Nightwing mean to imply that the all-girl squad is also all straight? Or was it that he was generalizing or had forgotten the extent of Queen Bee's powers? Thank you for your time, and I hope you're enjoying work on YJ3, which I very much look forward to.
In one of the issues of the tie in comic for young justice,Wally takes Superboy to Forever 16. Is that a Pun? Why did you decide to name it that
Do you think it would've been interesting if Demona caused Elisa to develop a severe case of nyctophobia.
1. As of the end of the SLG comics, do either Macbeth or Demona know about what they did during the weeks that they were controlled by the Weird Sisters? Do they know about their actions in High Noon, how they were forced to attack the innocent people (inc Katharine, Mac's only remaining relative, and Demona's children) on Avalon, etc?
If not, what do they think happened to them between their fight in New York and waking up in Paris?
If either does know, how do they feel about the Weird Sisters as a result?
2. Do Macbeth and Demona share the "anguish" mentioned by the Weird Sisters in CoS4 the same way they share physical pain? For example, on their wedding night in Paris, could Demona feel Macbeth's emotional pain as if it were her own?
If not, how does that part of their link work?
3. Is the shared pleasure part of Demona and Macbeth's link physical, emotional, or both?
Thank you. :)
Hi Greg, I'm a big fan of Gargoyles and Brooklyn has always been my favorite next to Goliath. My question is how would Season 3 be more different if you stayed to work on it ?
Dear Mr Weisman, regarding Spectacular Spiderman season 3.What were your plans for Peter and Gwen's relationship after what happend in season 2's finale. If it's not too much trouble can you please tell in general what was going to happen regarding this.Really appreciate you to take your time to answer this question. Thank You
I am trying to reference this from a strict no spoilers perspective but I preface I love the Atlantis mythos and Aquaman characters he is probably my favorite of the DC Universe and your YJ Aqualad is a part of that. I saw no representation of that world of what I have seen so far in this 3rd season so 1) can we expect representation of the Atlantis world like past seasons?2) Since this skips the timeline forward can we maybe see an Aqualad in JL a Lorena Marquez Aquagirl? Which in some ways more than as spoiler alert While I feel DC universe is every day more diverse I think DC could stand to have more Latino representation while I know Blue Beetle reps well could we may be see if not Lorena Marquez then Vibe or even a YJ version of Superman JL Gods and Monsters? In short can we get atleast one more Latino based superhero? In realization that this is a request masquerading as a question with potential spoilers I hope I can atleast get a wink and a nod thank you Greg long time supporter
Hi, Greg. I read this article today that some criticisms of Young Justice: https://comicsverse.com/young-justice-why-i-wont-watch/. While I didn't agree with most of what the writer said, he did make at least one criticism that I had never stopped to consider. He pointed out that the team's mission didn't make sense because the missions they undertake don't seem to be any less dangerous than the missions the league takes on. So, yeah, fighting space monsters is dangerous, but is being left alone in a foreign country, or fighting a cabal of the world`s greatest super-villains any less dangerous? How do you respond to that?
1. The Scarab talked with Dan Garret like with Jaime?
2. Did the Blue Beetle of the future ever hurt Bart (hits, wounds with blades, plasma cannon o something else)?
3 Have Bart some scar from Future Blue Beetle?
Hello Greg, i'm From Mexico and i love Young Justice, i'm so Happy for the season 3!
I have some questions
1) why Bart went to live with the Garricks instead his biological grandparents the Allens? In the comics was because Barry was dead when Bart came to the present, but in Earth-16 he is alive, so why Bart not live with him and Iris?
2) When his father and aunt Dawn born, what thought Bart about them? (i´m hoping see the baby twins Allen en the new season)
3)since the season Invasion is over can you answer if the future Blue Beetle that we see in Before the Dawn was Jaime Reyes or another person in the armor?
3A) if Jaime was that future Blue Beetle, means he will be so big and muscular? or the Scarab gave him steroids o something else? because he was enormous compared with the actual Jaime...
4) since the baldness is hereditary, Conner could start to lose hair?
Thank you very much for your time
1: How long was Dan active as a hero with the Blue Beetle suit. Did he semi-retire like Jay or did fully retire and avoid the Scarab?
2: What was Black Adam doing between his origin and the modern day? Was be banished like his comic self, sealed away, in Aruba, etc?
3: How long has the meta gene been a thing in humans? If someone cloned, say, a Neanderthal or similar proto-human, could they gain powers via meta gene activation?
4: Prior to his U.N fight, had Lobo ever dealt with any JL member or Earth Hero (Be it Superman, Green Lantern, or a drinking contest with Hawkman).
5: Can the Batplane in the Y.J verse enter space and dock with the Watchtower, or is that outside of what Batman can or will do.
I have some questions about Star Wars Rebels.
1. What was it like to work with Star Wars legends like Anthony Daniels, James Earl Jones, Frank Oz, and Billy Dee Williams?
2. Do remember any of the characters that you created the idea for? Which ones were they?
3. Did you read A New Dawn in preparation for either Rebels or the Kanan comic?
4.How did you get the job to work on Rebels? (My dream job is to work on Star Wars someday).
5. Did you work with Jason Fry on the Servants of the Empire book series since one of the books adapts "Breaking Ranks", one of the episodes you wrote.
Thanks for answering all these questions, I really appreciate that you make time like this for fans, it means a lot to me at least. The Force will be with you....Always.
1. Was Roy on Earth-16 raised on a Navajo reservation like in the comics?
2. If so, was his adopted father also named Brave Bow?
First of all; I love the Gargoyle TV series. I was obsessed with it when I was a kid, and now I'm obsessed with it again.
1) Can a half human half gargoyle mate with a full-blooded gargoyle?
2) If so; can they have kids naturally or do they need help with Magic/Science
3) If they can, does the half-human lay eggs or does the half-human give birth to live young?
How do gargoyles mate ritualistically? I am writing a story and I want to use it in my fanfiction on how they mate. Is it like humans or is there a whole ceremony?
I read a recent answer from you about super-breath and, while I certainly agree that it's kind of "out there" in terms of plausibility, I feel that some of your objections are flawed.
Consider volume, for instance. Yes, his lungs aren't any bigger than a baseline human's, but they're much stronger and more durable than a baseline human's lungs would be. While liquids and solids are practically incompressible, gasses are not (have you ever checked the air pressure in your tires?), and pressurized air is widely used in society (aerosol spray containers, for instance). Given the assumptions, it is consistent with physics for Superman to hold a greater volume of air in his lungs, it would simply have to be at a greater pressure than a human would be able to endure.
On the subject of coldness, the air in his lungs would be under tremendous pressure. Rapidly forcing all of that high-pressure air out into a lower-pressure environment would have a cooling effect, though probably not to extent typically shown.
I apologize if I'm coming off as pedantic. I agree that it isn't very plausible, but it feels like your primary objection is that gasses are incompressible, and they are not. Imagine you have two tanks, one made of titanium, the other tin, and you pump air into both of them at the same steady rate until they burst. Which tank will burst first, and why? Thank you for your time.
Do you feel like answering the first two questions now? Or maybe just the second one since it doesn't require research?
English isn't my native language, but i really want ask you some questions.
I know you are color blind and maybe this question is more suitable for Phil Bourassa, but since both are currently working in Young Justice: Outsiders, maybe you should ask him if you can´t answer...
1)Why decided make the Bart's eyes green? In all the comics his eyes are yellow (except in New 52 where were red and that Bart at the end wasn't Bart). His yellow eyes were an important part of his design, even his googles are amber color in order to hiding his eyes color because were so unique what could reveal his secret identity. His eyes were the first thing we saw clearly in Bart´s debut in Flash #92 (and i thought he was a girl because this close up of big eyes and hair locks looked like an image from a romantic comic XD) Change the yellow for the green, is like turning Superman blond.
2) I've noticed the Reach Scientist's dress look like a hijab with a niqab, and according to Young Justice wiki, i'm not the only who think that. So Is this intentional?
2-a) All the Reach women dress like her?
It´s a bit hard to see a woman with a "hijab" being ignored, despised and silent by a man (although she was smarter).
3) Why Traci 13 was redesingned like caucasian to the season 3? She was asian american in the comics and Young Justice had being doing a great work including divertsity in the members of the Team
I love Young Justice and i'm very happy for the season 3. Thank you very much for your great work
What will the run time of Outsiders be? Will it be longer than Invasion?
Is Talia al'Ghul on Earth-16 multiracial (Arabic/Chinese on both her parents' sides) like in the comics (at least pre-Flashpoint)?
1. What is the name of Barbara Gordon's mother on Earth-16?
2. Is she still married to Jim Gordon?
I would like of knows:
1)Is McBeth the only human warrior that have the honor? I am talking on the sense of never attack a Gargoyle on his/her stone sleep.
2)if no, my question is the original round table knights if they had as a enemy/opponent a Gargoyle, they would fights with them fairly and square or they had acted cowardly and destroyed the Gargoyles on their sleep?
1: Does Peter Parker ever grab fast food/something from a convenience store/food stand/whatever, while in costume?
2: What are the eyepieces of his suit made of? Are they lenses like in all the pre-MCU movies? Mechanical irises like the MCU? Just cloth?
Sorry my real gmail is firstname.lastname@example.org
I Just finished watching Spectacular Spider-Man (amazing show by the way) and I was just wondering if I payed you, Sony, Disney, and marvel each 50,000 or more, I would also make a paticion. Than would you at least think of making more episodes. And if yes I would want the episodes to be the exact same (Everything). I would really love if you could answer me preferably at my gmail: my gmail is email@example.com
I saw from a recent response that you love Ghost Rider. What do you think about the way the character was handled in the 4th Season of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD"?
Hello Greg!! I'm a big fan and want to thank you for bringing my favorite characters to life in animation (Superboy, Impulse, Wonder Girl, Red Robin)! I am eagerly waiting for season 3.
I have a few questions, would you be up for a animated feature film from this Young Justice universe? I would love to see what you could do and who you'd choose as the villan.
Also will Cassie Sandsmark be getting a new costume? I feel like over the years she has never gotten a proper prominent amazon outfit in the comics except for maybe her memorable costume from the 2003 Johns Titans run. Will we see her in some cool amour at any point and not just in her sweats?
What are the chances of DC letting you use Zeus and Ares for the series? Is there a restriction on using greek mythology in the series?
Also given how good Young Justice has turned out to be and how much us fans love it, Would you ever be open to doing say a Young Avengers series for Marvel? If so, who would be in your lineup?
And lastly, I am a college student trying to break into the animation/ illustration/ sequential arts field what would you recommend I do to get to where you are and have a better chance at success? What did you do?
And lastly, do you have a favorite YJ member?
Mr. Greg Weisman,
As your work on the episodes "Young Justice: Outsiders" continues, have you made any considerations to expand the Earth-16 universe by introducing possible spin-off shows featuring other DC Comics teams such as the Legion of Super-Heroes...?
A thought occurred to me about Captain Marvel.
First, let me say, I'm not trying to get you into trouble. I'm really not. But I was wondering...
When ten-year-old Billy transforms into Captain Marvel does he gain an adult libido?
(I'll understand if you want to steer clear of this question.)
Could you/would you be interested in spearheading a push to create new merchandise for the Gargoyles franchise? In the interest of proving it as a still-viable money-making franchise for a possible reboot/proper season 3 but also for us fans that are lacking modern representations of those beloved characters. I myself went well out of my way to aquire an enamel pin (unlicensed I'm sure) only to have ANYTHING featuring Goliath in my possesion.
For Young Justice: Have you ever considered the idea that Dick created a book with all his made up words called "The Dicktionary"?
Hello Greg . I've been a long time fan of the show and I was just wondering when or if this show is making a comeback. It seems like shows like game of thrones which involves wizards and sorcery is in now. In addition Gargoyles had elements of science blended into magic backgrounds. It was a shame how the show ended abruptly because it has so much potential. Thanks!
I'm a huge fan of this show and Brooklyn,Goliath,Thailog,Demona, and Elisa are my favorite characters! But I have this one question, is there a slight chance that the Gargoyles would return?
I was wondering can Gargoyles with Feathered wings fly, like Zafiro from the Mayan clan or Staghart of the London clan.
Hi Greg, just bought your audio story of Rain Of The Ghosts, fantastic original story, and not to mention love hearing our favorite voice actors in your story, and it was amazing, gonna go find the second book and read it.
I also wanted to ask, Timedancer is one of my most favorite spinoff ideas based onto Gargoyles, and the sheer idea of Brooklyn Time traveling is awesome! I wanted to know, just like you did with Rain Of The ghost Audio story, would you be able to do Timedancer like that? Bring in the old voice actors (Jeff and Thomas ect) and bring in new ones to voice the new characters that would have been in Timedancer?
If someone else were to come along and revive the Gargoyle Series, what would your opinion be if they had full Creative Control?
Regarding Season 3 of Young Justice, I had read online that there were plans to include the Wonder Twins. Are those plans still intact? Would they be just a guest appearance, or would they be recurring characters?
I am a huge fan of Gargoyles. However, there is something that I was always curious about. What did Cu Chulainn shout when he was charging the banshee in the episode The Hound of Ulster. It sounded celtic to me but I don't know for sure. I cant find a script and this I would really like to know what he said.
I would like some clarification.
You announced at Comic-Con that Traci Thirteen would be part of the cast of Outsiders. Yet, you referred to her as Thirteen. Is her code-name on the show Thirteen or Traci Thirteen?
In the DC Comics storyline, "Brightest Day," Black Manta's real name is David (last name unknown; presumed to be Hyde). Does his "Young Justice" animated counterpart share the same name as well...?
Greg-san ( I am bit Fan of Anime), I once read you didn't know who Jormungandr was, it's the name of Midgard Serpent, th Archenemy of Thor,
(You can check on Wikipedia or Marvel Comics database:Midgard Serpent)
I have three questions:
1.Hercules, on Gargoyles, was a halfling or he was 100% fae?
2.Thor and Hercules, in terms of pure physical strength, are stronger than Oberon?(I know he , Titania and Mab are unmatchable on magical power, but I am talking about physical might).
3.Thor's mother, Jord, also is a member of the Third Race? Or is she something else?
Because, once you commented nor all Vanir and Titans were fae, so the giants, and Earth Mother Goddess like Gaia, Jord and Rhea could be remanent of the Foruth Race.
Greg..once you told us(gargoyles fans) Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, and a member of the Third Race is dead.
Does Odin feels sad by this?
Because Thor was his favorite son.
1.you said Artemis knows Nightwing's secret identity in seasone 2 so why in the episode 'depths' while waiting for Wally, Artemis and Kaldor he pulled the picture from "homefront" that he took of her in Gotham Academy and repeated the same sentence? did they not laugh about it?
2.Why in the episode 'Depths' Nightwing performed on Artemis mouth to mouth? I saw that you answered that he did CPR because her heart stopped but did the mouth to mouth was necessary? he's her boyfriend's best friend and he knew she not really dead so...?
Given that Season two was called "Young Justice: Invasion" and Season Three is called "Young Justice: Outsiders," IF "Young Justice" continues beyond a third season, would you consider establishing a voting poll so that we, the fans, can decide what the next titles for future seasons should be..?
I've been reading comic book issues from a DC Rebirth Justice League comic book storyline called "Legacy," which features potential future children of the Justice League. Could something similar potentially happen in the future of the "Young Justice" animated universe, but with potential future children of the Team...?
I know this isn't a forum, but I would like to respond to another poster who asked if Demona was ticklish by saying:
Would you really want to find out?:)
1. Will there be a tribute episode on "Young Justice: Outsiders" for Miguel Ferrer...?
2. Will Phil Morris be a potential voice actor replacement to voice Vandal Savage on "Young Justice: Outsiders"; considering the actor voiced Vandal Savage in the animated film, "Justice League: Doom"?
This question goes back to the age old question: why does Superman need the Justice League? Or, why does Thor need the Avengers?
Have you ever decided against using a DC character as a team member because he or she was too powerful? If so, can you tell us which heroes you nixed?
1. What did you think of Will Smith as Deadshot?
2. Is there any possibility that you're going to explore Deadshot and the Suicide Squad in Young Justice?
Would you ever consider writing for live-action? Like film, screenplays, etc.?
Or is that just a medium that doesn't interest you?
Dear Mr. Weisman,
I have seen at two versions of Darkseid in other DC Comics media; the first being in Superman: The Animated Series and the second being Season 10 of Smallville. From what I can understand, Darkseid is a master manipulator and he has some ability to enslave people to his will (something to do with the darkness in their hearts or something like that). That being said...
1. What are the chances that Darkseid is most likely going to betray his alliance with the Light...?
2. What are the chances that Darkseid will somehow brainwash members of the Team by taking advantage of their grief (such as Nightwing and Artemis' grief over the loss of Wally) or their other hidden dark feelings...?
Will Black Lightning's daughters, Lightning (Anissa Pierce) and Thunder (Jennifer Pierce), be part of the Team in Season Three of Young Justice...?
Hi Greg, big fan of your work and excited for the new season of Young Justice after quite a break.
Now for the questions:
If you could magically pick another one of the shows you've worked on to bring back, but could only pick one, which would it be?
2. Why this one? Unfinished stories, fond memories of working in it, etc?
3. Realistically, considering factors such as all the politics, the fan base, etc, in your opinion which show would you say would be most likely to come back (even if it's a one in a million chance) and which is the least likely?
Dear Mr. Weisman,
IF, and ONLY IF, the Team ends up personally fighting Darkseid (without any assistance from the Justice League or anyone else) by the end of Season Three, I ask that you please make sure that it ends up being the biggest bad-ass fight in DC animation history. Also, IF you are somehow able to, please include a nod to Justice League Unlimited finale episode ("Destroyer") by having Darkseid try to eliminate a member of the Team with his Omega Beams; only for he/she to somehow avoid them through either pure skill or sheer dumb luck.
Hi Greg. I like to say it Feels good for the first time in your career, the "curse" was Broken with Outsiders coming next year. Though there are a couple concerns floating around this year.
1. Due to Miguel Ferrer's Passing Eariler, Did you managed to find a Replacement for Vandal Savage?
2. Is there another Timeskip before Outsiders?
3. Did you had a feeling about YJ's Revival was Happening before when DC brought back the Jackson Hyde Aqualad in Rebirth?
1. I believe that you have mentioned once before that some version of the events of "DC Showcase: Green Arrow" did indeed happen in "Young Justice." What were the differences between the actual short film version and the Earth-16 version of the events...?
2. Following up from question #1, are there other Earth-16 events that were based on and modified from other animated films; and if so, which ones were they...?
Would you ever make a scooby-doo show?
Why doesn't superman sound more like ma and pa kent if he landed in Kansas when he was a baby?
hey mr greg weisman i was just wondering were you aiming a little older and just had to keep it appealing for kids
In Enter MacBeth, MacBeth refers to Demona as the Gargoyles' queen. But wouldn't she or even someone of her clan from the past have told him a bit about Gargoyles and their clans and that they didn't have kings or queens? Or did she leave him to believe she was their queen?
Did M'gann began shapeshifting into Megan soon after she started watching hello Megan on mars?
Why does the YJ WIKI look so much better than the Gargoyles WIKI? Don't you have the same people working on it?
What is the actual number of Gargoyles and Gargoyle Beasts living in the Ishimura Clan?
What is the actual number of Gargoyles and Gargoyle Beasts living in the Wyvern Clan before the Clan split?
How many gargoyles lived in the Wyvern Clan? Including Demona's Clan and Avalon Clan.
I couldn't find the answer to the question but,
The staff that Nerrisa had at the beginning of the 2nd series, not the seal of Nerissa, but the one she was carrying as an old hag. What was the deal with that one? Was she trying to make a fashion statement?
How does Jade feel about her sister date Kid Flash (Wally)?
Was Garfield a member of the Doom Patrol before joining the the team at mount justice?
Hi Greg these are just some questions I've had for awhile
1) At the time of the massacre how many gargoyles made up the Wyvern Clan?
2) At it's height how large was Demona's Clan?
3) How many cells did Demona spilt her clan into?
4) You've mentioned that her Clan was made up of survivors from the Wyvern split and Scone Clans where did the rest come from?
5) Does Angela ever go to Demona's townhouse?
6) What's Xanatos net worth?
7) how long were Gillecomgain and Gruoch married?
8) What exactly is the purpose of the Gathering?
9) Can Oberon reverse Puck's sentence and will he ever?
10) Has Princess Katherine ever left Avalon and will she ever?
11) Will Oberon be aware of what's happening the world during the Gathering (Goliath's death and the Space-Spawn Invasion)?
12) why did Boreas call New Olympus a Kingdom?
13) On average how large is a Gargoyle Clan?
14) Since they have lived in peace for about 2 thousand years is the New Olympian Clan the largest of the surviving clans?
15) Did Raven base his gargoyle appearance on a kind of Gargoyle actually look?
16) Did Jason Canmore love Elisa and will he and Jon ever talk about jon's path?
Do Gargoyles and W.I.T.C.H. take place in the same universe.
1: Of all the episodes of everything you've done, which was the hardest to come up with a name for?
2: How did the Justice League find out that the Crystal Appalaxian could absorb sonics? None of the founding Leaguers have sonic attacks that I can think of.
what's your opinion on a 16yr old dating a 13yr old?
How many years had M'gann be using the Megan Morse form on Mars before she came to earth?
Is Wonder Girl's natural lifespan longer than Tim Drake's normal human lifespan?
You once said you held auditions for Impulse, Blue Beetle, Tim and another. Was that Static?
What is Miss Martian's age in Young Justice season 3?
What year did Miss Martian began using the adult Megan Morse form?
1) what did Demona do for money before Nightstone Unlimited?
2) did Maol Chalvim ever look for Katherine?
3) Is Demona ticklish?
How long did Garfield Logan know Aquadgirl by time of her death?
Hello Mr. Weisman let me start by saying I've been a huge Gargoyles fan for years and I hope to see the story continued one day. But these are just some questions I've had for along time.
1) How did Demona buy her town house?
2) How will Demona react to Goliath and Elisa becoming a couple?
3) How will the Goliath's death affect her?
4) why does Titania go to be with Halcyon as he dies? And could she have saved him?
5) Even though they can't have children are Gargoyles and Humans sexually compatible?
6) Why didnt Xanatos just hire Sevarius to make a cure for the Mutants?
7) What happened to Cyberbiotics after Halcyon dies?
8) Is New Camelot a monarchy? And who will be Arthur's Queen?
9) did Hyppolyta have a mate?
These are just some of the questions that have built up over the years if you could answer them I'd really appreciate it Please and Thank you!
Is Mary Marvel in the yj comics.
I want to repost this question like you suggested:
I'm interested in your thoughts (and possibly Brandon Vietti's and Jamie Thomason's as well, if possible) on the casting process for the voices of the main characters of Young Justice. What was/is it that the main cast - Jesse McCartney, Khary Payton, Nolan North, Stephanie Lemelin, Danica McKeller, and Jason Spisak - bring to their respective characters that you, Vietti, and Thomason were looking for? In another question, you answered that the members of Young Justice were chosen based on a variety of factors (i.e. personality, dynamics, etc.). How did that play out in the casting process?
Hi! Just want to say that I still look forward to read Masque of Bones. I keep my fingers crossed for you to find some time to write it. Any luck yet?
Hi, im from Portugal and i want to know why wasn´t released the 3 season of w.i.t.c.h, that serie in my opinion was a huge sucess.
I saw in a petition site that is having a petition to have the 3 season but i don´t know if is true or not.
Here is the link http://www.thepetitionsite.com/219/094/466/witch-season-3/
I hope you can answer my doubts.
Hey Greg. I have a few questions.
1) I've read somewhere that you stopped reading comics all together in the mid 90s. Not asking why as you've already abetted that but rather did that ever stop. The abstaining from comics that is for lack of a better word. I assume that you've picked up a read a comic every now and then since you quit obviously but was there a time where you went back consistently?
2) How do you determine when you will answer questions. I tend to check this site maybe once a month and sometimes I'll be back and you've answered dozens of questions, a lot of the times in one day. Other times you'll haven't answered a question in weeks. Is it just as simple as whenever you have free time and want to our is there some uniquely complicated schedule that you follow. (The question sounded more silly as I continued.)
3) Do you consider yourself to have a dry sense of humor. I've been told I do and I find some of your replies downright hilarious that to others might seem to come off as blunt. Or on the contrary are you just more of very blunt person.
4) Can you explain the little joke you do every time someone asks you who would win what fight and you reply with that quote about the hulk and the thing.
Can you tell us the meaning of the colors of the index cards you use to plan your shows?
Is Vandal Savage smarter than the brain? And also can you still use the name captain marvel on the show or will billy go by shazam in season 3?
Theory: The idea of the human race being weaponized in "Young Justice: Outsiders" could potentially explain why the future didn't seemingly change much after Bart Allen went back in time. The new reason for the current state of the world in 2056 is because a superhuman world war (something akin to Kingdom Come) occurred and it is what ultimately left the world in ruins...
1. In what order were the members of the Injustice League recruited by the Light from first to seventh?
2. If the Injustice League is meant to be an evil counterpart to the Justice League, which villain is a counterpart to which hero?
3. At the end of the comic book storyline, "Darkseid War," it was established that there were three Jokers. Could something similar happen in Young Justice?
Please describe the fight between the Justice League and the Appellaxians in detail?
Young Justice Questions:
1. Where exactly in the universe did the Appellaxians come from, how did they get to Earth, and why did they come to Earth in the first place?
2. Where exactly on Earth did the fight between the Justice League and the Appellaxians take place?
3. Did Martian Manhunter had to use his telepathy to discover what the Appellaxians' motives were for coming to Earth?
4. Before ultimately finding out what the Appellaxians' weaknesses actually were, how did each member of the Justice League initially attempt to combat them?
5. What were the Appellaxians' weaknesses, which members of the Justice League figured it out, and how were they able to figure it out?
6. How were three of Appellaxians' host bodies destroyed and which members of the Justice League destroyed those three host bodies?
7. Overall, how long did the fight between the Justice League and the Appellaxians lasted?
In every mission in Young Justice Legacy, each character who leads a three-member group is canon while the other two that follows the group leader are technically not because they are determined by the player. If the game had instead been an animated movie, which two characters would have canonically went with each group leader during each mission...?
What did you guys have in mind when creating the theme song for young justice? Also, if the light knows the identity of certain heroes, how come they've never attacked them at home if they want them to stop interfering with their plans?
Just curious, the Atlanteans in the comics worship the Greek Gods, like the Amazonians, but in Young Justice there's a lot of Neptune references and outside of Poseidonis, I can't recall anyone talking about Poseidon.
I guess what I'm asking is do the Atlanteans of Earth-16 worship the Greek Gods or the Roman Gods?
How does Shimmer's power work? I mean... does she melt stuff, or does she disintegrate stuff? (I suspect it is the former, but if it is the latter that makes her very dangerous, doesn't it?)
Is there even a possibility of other comic book companies, say IDW, would be able to pay the licensing fees so that you'd be able to make more Gargoyles comics? I think Slave Labor Graphics got overwhelmed where as IDW wouldn't be overwhelmed.
Do the YJ comics over everything that happened within the 5 year gap, if not will we ever see what happened that time on the show in like a flashback i.e. the second robin?
Would you ever make a TMNT show.
Also since YJ was brought back is it possible for the same to happen with Spectacular Spider-man?
Since young justice is a very generational show, and in each season you have a new younger line up of heroes, will you ever introduce a younger new line up/new generation of villains?
Don't you think becoming Spider woman is a better fate for Gwen Stacy than dying?
Things I Wish To See In/After "Young Justice: Outsiders":
1. A New 52/DC Rebirth makeover for existing characters' attires.
2. A chance for certain fan-requested characters to make their long-awaited appearances in the Earth-16 universe, such as the Damian Wayne version of Robin, the Kara Zor-El version of Sueprgirl, the Lorena Marquez version of Aquagirl, the Batman version of Terry McGinnis, the Jason Todd version of Red Hodd, etc.
3. Lex Luthor seeking to become the President of the United States and possibly using that position as part of an agenda to villianize her long-hated enemy, Superman, in the eyes of the public.
4. Fan-favorite couples, such as Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon, getting their happy endings by getting married and having children of their own.
5. Seeing the Team trying to hold their own against Darkseid when the Justice League is unable to fight the villain themselves.
6. Seeing Aqualad's state of mind in the aftermath of his undercover mission and whether or not he will find a new love interest.
7. Seeing the Earth-16 version of the Legion of Super-Heroes and a spin-off show that solely focuses on that group and presenting it own unique twists on its members (in terms of membership, history, and relationships).
8. Seeing Wally West return, but as the Flash.
9. Seeing Queen Bee finally be brought to justice for the death of Marie Logan.
10. Finding out the fate of Aquaman and Mera's child.
11. Finding out the circumstances that led to Jason Todd's death (presumably at the hands of the Joker, but how it all went down is the question).
12. A proper introduction of the Speed Force in the Earth-16 universe (which I think explains why Wally disintegrated in the manner that he did in the Season 2 finale).
Due to being an official member of the Light, is Black Manta's designation L-5 (Ocean Master's former designation) or L-8 (assuming the position of L-5 is never replaced)?
Hey Greg! Love the show. My question is about magic on the show, I understand it requires energy provided by the user and personal affinity, but is there a stronger factor? Such as the laws of equivalent exchange in alchemy (To obtain, something of equal value must be lost).
In other words, since Zatanna's actions, in a way, gave away something of strong value to her, her father. Will her magical abilities become stronger than ever before? Equivalent exchange.
I hope I'm making sense here. Magic rules!
1) Has animation begun on Outsiders?
2) Will you wait until all of the scripts are finalized before starting animation?
3) After all of the scripts are finalized, what will your involvement with the series be? What do you personally have left to do on season 3?
You do realize that you can't please BluePluse fans by throwing random LGBTQ characters at them to make them happy. It's BluePulse or nada.
How old are the Reach Ambassador and Reach Scientist?
1. Does Sportsmaster realize he is bad (not good/perfect) father?
2. Does he care?
Please explain all the details (in chronological order) that led to the Reach Apocalypse being successful; including what the exact circumstances were that led the Justice League and The Team to being unable to stop it in the original timeline before Bart went back in time...?
Mr. Greg Weisman,
Topic: If I am understanding this correctly, thanks to the use of Starro-tech, the Light has known the secret identities of the Justice League members (and probably the members of Team by extension) since the end of Season One up until the "present day", but they decided not to use it as blackmail because you've said that's not how the Light operates...
Question: Given now that we have Season Three of "Young Justice", could we potentially see the Light finally using this knowledge of the heroes' secret identities as a trump card against the heroes...?
Reason for Asking Question: I recall that there was a storyline that dealt with Superman's identity becoming public and the consequences that followed as a result; therefore, I am wondering what would happen if something similar eventually happens on "Young Justice"...?
I would love to come to your gatherings if you do one.
The Gargoyles Universe, Fandom, and Show is just so chill, nice, and very welcoming.
in 2019 I shall be praying to go and be at your Gargoyles Gathering.
How do you pronounce Ra's name?
1. Usually when heroes have dual identities (the secret identity and the superhero identity), sometimes there are heroes who have an inner circle: a group of people who knows the hero's true identity and the hero trusts these people well enough not to tell the hero's identity to anyone else.
On Earth-16, for each member of the Justice League, which people (family, friends, allies, etc.) were part of their respective inner circles...?
2. In the comics, Jason Todd was well-known for being impulsive, reckless, and full of rage. As such, if the Earth-16 version of Jason exhibited similar behavior, then what were the opinions of each member of the Team (specifically, those who knew Jason prior to his death)in regards to their time with Jason Todd...? For example, did Superboy viewed Jason Todd as a stuck-up jerk during the latter's time with the Team and thought that Jason's behavior was similar to how Superboy used to be before Superman finally accepted him?
Out of curiosity, when can we expect to see a poster of "Young Justice: Outsiders"?
Concerning SpecSpidey's "The Education of Peter Parker" theme, had you figured out what fields of education you would name the episodes of season three after?
1.will we see or hear anything more about zatannas background (eg family like her mother, more about her magic etc) on the show?
2. do you have any ideas for zatan as character that you've yet to show us on the show? have/will you flesh out her character?
Is there anyway that a season 3 could happen for spectacular Spiderman like it did for young justice? Is there anything the fans can do to make this happen?
Thank you and have a nice day
The Spectacular Spider-Man is my favourite TV series of all time because I liked how it focused on Spider-Man and Peter Parker's early years as a teenager trying to learn how to balance his dual life and also deal with the usual things that teenagers go though.
1. Have you seen Spider-Man:Homecoming?
2. I wanted to know when you were making TSSM did you want people to fall in love with the original Stan Lee/Ditko and John Romita Snr run?
3.What is your favourite run of Spider-Man comics?.
I'm sorry, I have more Gargoyles questions.
1: How do you decide what's a spoiler and what's canon-in-training? Can we have some more canon-in-training? Please?
2: We have established Gargoyles raise their young communally. Do Gargoyle Beasts do the same or do they raise their young like animals do?
3: What is Maria Chavez's daughter's name?
4: Let's say Elisa and Goliath decide to have a child. Through adoption, science, or magic doesn't matter. Would this child be raised communally like a gargoyle or like a human, or a bit of both?
5: If in the Gargoyles universe you can't alter history how does Brooklyn bring Katana to the future? Wouldn't taking her from the past alter history?
Thank you for answering several of my questions now, it's really great to have my curiosity rewarded!
Can Beast Boy turn into an extinct animal? If so, would he need to see/study an accurate and detailed reconstruction of it first?
The Spectacular Spiderman was and is one of my all time favorite shows. I've loved Spiderman for a long time and I think this adaptation of the web- slinger was amazing. That show made me happy just watching it, I loved everything about it. I recently rewatched both seasons of the spectacular spiderman and I really think there should be a 3rd season. Too much happened at the end for the show to be done for good. If there is any way at all that the spectacular Spiderman could be started up again, I'm sure it would be greatly appreciated by many people.
The Earth-16 version of Superboy can be described as one who will never have all of his Kryptonian powers. In the long-run, this would present a significant problem because there will come a time when Superman will eventually kick the bucket. If that happens, how would Superboy be able to step-up as Superman's successor...?
Assuming that Tempest's personal reason for leaving the Team was due to Aquagirl's death, what were the personal reasons that Lieutenant Marvel, Sergeant Marvel, and Troia had for leaving the Team...?
Did Artemis turned 21 years old during season 2 or it was after the season? Can you tell us when her birthday is?
Is M'gann still living on earth by the time of young justice season 3?
Why don't you have Spectacular Spider-Man in your Twitter Bio? I'm sorry I'm such of fan of the show, And I know you had something to do with it's success being behind the scene s
Will we see Miss Martian in season 3 Outsiders?
Did Artemis and Wally had sex before start to live together?
Did Garfield stay in qurac for years after his mom die?
Can you tell us now what projects were these? https://twitter.com/greg_weisman/status/517893725863682048
Is the Phantom Stranger a Lord of Order in the Young Justice universe (if he exists in this continuity)?
I just read somewhere that Artemis lost her virginity at young age (12-14).
1. Is that true at all?
2. Who was her first?
Hey, how you've been?
I've been wondering... Ben 10 it's a property of Time Warner, just like DC Comics... so:
1- Any chances of introducing an Earth 16 version of him in YJ?
2- Have you or any of your coworkers ever considered this idea?
3 - What do you, personaly, think about it?
Anyways, that's it for now! Thanks for your time and service to us fans!!!
Hi Greg! Hope everything is going well. I've been wondering, if you would have had an extended opening for Season 2, what would it have been like? Would it have been the original team, the new members, both? Also, who are the six shadowed characters on the first poster of Young Justice Invasion?
In YJ at the end of season one Superboy says that he's known about Miss Martian's true form since they first mind melded.
So my question is, in the episode "Bereft" when we see the flash of memories M'gann shares with Conner and there is the flash of Megan from Hello Megan, is that the moment where Conner learns about M'gann's true form and her love of the show?
Similarly, in "Terrors" during the scene where M'gann and Conner are in the psychiatrists office and Conner says something about her' fantasy world where problems are solved in half an hour', was that a hint at him being aware of how much the show has shaped her?
Hi! Here I am with more Gargoyles questions.
1: How long till we get to see concepts of some of the Gargoyles you were going to add? Like Hippolyta. I mean if you can't work on the comic series again.
2: When the Gargoyle hatchlings are born do mother gargoyles just nurse any hatchling?
3: Do Xanadu Gargoyles have wings like all Gargoyles?
4: Speaking of Xanadu Gargoyles do they look like Chinese dragons or just dragons in particular.
5: If Hudson is the "father" of Goliath and his rookery siblings, who would be the "parents" of The Trio and their rookery siblings? I mean how do they know who's their rookery siblings and who's their rookery or clan parent is?
Hey Greg, I have been rewatching The Batman and I just watched the episode you wrote, Meltdown. I noticed that at the start of the episode Batman stopped clayface with a pellet that turned him into a hardened white foam like material, then clayface darted his eyes back and forth, this exact same thing happened to clayface in the first episode of Young Justice Invasion. Was that an intentional callback? It was awesome either way.
What is the League and the team's stance on killing?
I'm sure they have a rule about not deliberately taking a life, but how rigid is it? I'm not necessarily thinking about M'gann brain-frying someone because in her mind he had it coming. I'm talking about stuff that accidentally and inevitably happens in large scale battles. For example, let's say in that battle with the Light and the Reach in Summit, one of the League's young proteges accidentally hits a foot-soldier too hard and he dies. Is he or she going to be automatically expelled from the team? Or, what if the only way to protect innocent life is to take a life?
I guess what I'm asking is do league and team members have the same discretion of using lethal force that a police officer has?
Congrats on young Justice season 3 and I am excited to see what you do. Anyway my question is there going to be any zatanna and dick Grayson scenes? We didn't really get any in season 2. This relationship is unique and different which why I love it. If there could be any flirting or something like in season 1 it would mean the world to me.
I am very excited for the new young Justice season! And with that I ask about the relationships between characters. My favorite relationship is zatanna and dick. I was wondering if there will be any scene's with them together. It would be awesome to see that Sence we didn't really get any scenes with them together, flirting or any signs of a relationship like Artemis and Wally.
Was Marie Logan's death reported on the news?
So I managed to finish streaming YJ on Netflix with my friends, just a day before it's taken off. Hopefully it'll return someday. But in the meantime - I still really love this show, and every time I watched it I think I noticed something new. A few thoughts:
-Kaldur at one point says 'blood is thicker than seawater' as a dig at Aquaman - but the original phrase, 'blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb' meant that families of choice are stronger than families of blood, so was that line meant to be a subtle nod to Kaldur not being a traitor?
-Artemis and Dick have some very fascinating parallels (Gothamites, unpowered, trained from a young age, both Kaldur's second in command at different points in time, and they tend to pair up to attack or recon after Homefront) which I don't think could've come up in any other show. It's really interesting, and I hope we get to explore their parallels and differences more in s3.
-Speaking of character decisions that'd be unlikely in the original canon - having Jade actually care about other people, having Beast Boy as part of M'gann and J'onn's family - even bringing in Sportsmaster as a legitimate villain. I'm really excited to see what's going to happen next, especially since I'm sure that I won't see half of what you have coming.
Now, for actual questions -
-Do the Team or League members get any sort of stipend or compensation as part of their membership?
-Is the public generally aware that Blue Beetle was controlled by the Reach against his will, or do they think he did everything voluntarily?
-If Zatanna has no secret identity, does that mean that everyone she went to school with knows her dad was Zatara and that she could do magic?
Hi Greg, I can't wait for young justice season 3 however I have to ask: 1.How many seasons did you originally intend for the show to have.
2.Have you heard of #specspidey4netflix which is trying to get spectacular spiderman back on Netflix.
3.Have you seen spiderman homecoming, if so did you see all the parallels to the spectacular spiderman.
Will we be seeing the supersons in season 3?
Big fan and looking forward to season 3. I was just wondering why Tim in the revel has a hood. A look synonymous with a different Robin and his league background.
I'm just very curious as a huge Robin fan it was a huge surprise. Also very confusing as the Robins usually are interchangeable but you could always tell Damian because of his hood.
Thank you and hope you find the time to reply
Just a few questions, I'm so excited about YJ season 3!
I was wondering:
1. Will we see more Batgirl in season 3? I love your design of her!
2. Do you like Nightwing/Batgirl as a couple? Or prefer Nightwing/Starfire? I'm kinda sad that that the N/B relationship isn't in any animated stuff besides BTAS. I think it was implied for a bit, been so long...I like Starfire and all, I just think Nightwing/Batgirl have a lot more potential with Barbara and Dick training with Batman. More in common with going to school together, Batman, and crime fighting.
3. Not trying to ask for spoilers, but if there's a time jump in season 3, would Batgirl be Oracle in YJ Universe, or still Batgirl? I love how you've built the Young Justice Universe, so I was wondering since Jason is dead, what would happen with Batgirl in season 3?
4. Will seasons 1,2, and now 3 be available in proper seasons in the future? I have seasons 1 and 2 now, but they're spread across many discs in parts. Would they be realeased as full complete series in the future?
Just wondering these questions! I do hope to see more Barbara Gordon in season 3, I love your version of her. Either way, I'm so excited for S3!
Have a good day!
Who keeps building Coyote after Xanatos dies? Alex? Thailog?
Eduardo Dorado Sr tells his son that he gained teleportation powers because the meta-gene is opportunistic. What does this mean? That the gene is sentient and somehow knew Eduardo Dorado Sr was working on teleportation tech so it gave his son teleportation powers as an ironic wink?
1. Have you watched any of the Arrowverse shows (Arrow, The Flash, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl)?
2. In your opinion, what are the strengths and flaws of each show...?
3. In your opinion, do you think it is better that "Supergirl" be in the same universe as the other three shows or is it better that it stays as its own universe...?
Speculation: On Earth-16, after the Justice Society of America/All-Star Squadron disbanded in 1951, their existence and heroic deeds were gradually reduced to children's bedtime stories until the group was completely forgotten. For this reason, when the Justice League emerged, the world erroneously believed that the emergence of superheroes were a relatively recent phenomena due to forgetting about the prior existence of the Justice Society of America...
Since Lexington is gay will that make his clone one as well?
On Earth-16, why haven't the Justice Society of America been reformed yet by the children and grandchildren of the team's original members...?
Hi Greg! The SDCC panel looks like it was a lot of fun, I wish I could've been there. Just to clear something up - the internet seems split over whether or not 13 is a new character, original to the Young Justice cartoon (like the Terror Twins or B'arzz O'oomm) or whether she's an adaptation of someone from the comics. Could you settle that one way or another?
(also, I love all the new character designs - Arrowette using Artemis' arrowhead logo is really cool, and I'm very excited to see what the core team has been up to in the last few years.)
Young Justice Season 3 Hype Preparation Questions:
1. Exactly how many years have passed between Seasons 2 and 3…?
2. Based on the final scene of "Endgame," is Darkseid the next villain that the Team must face…? If so, will the Forever People (last seen in Season 1) be given a greater role; given what we know of the conflict between New Genesis and Apokolips…?
3. Aside from those that were already introduced (such as Arrowette and Traci 13), can we expect to see other new DC characters (such as Supergirl or the Damian Wayne version of Robin) in Season 3…?
4. In Season 2, Aqualad's uncover mission and Nightwing's decision to keep it a secret nearly caused some problems. In Season 3, how bad could things potentially get this time around if a similar problem occurs (based on scale of 1 to 10)…?
5. Will see any relationships solidify themselves or fall apart during Season 3…?
6. In Season 2, Ocean Master was revealed to have been removed from the Light's list of members. In light of the events of "Summit," will The Light seek out new members to replace the ones they lost…?
7. At the end of Season 2, Black Canary was elected leader of the Justice League. Obviously, a different person will be in charge when Season 3 comes around… but will the person in question know what they are doing or will they potentially suffer critical moments of indecisions…?
8. Will we be able to see members of the Legion of Super-Heroes come into the present and potentially team up with the Team for at least one mission or two…?
9. If Season 3 receives sufficient views and positive responses, could we potentially see other animated series set in the Earth-16 DC Universe…?
In regards to "Young Justice: Legacy," why was it decided that it would be a video game, as opposed to an animated film...?
I'm so sorry if this is a spoiler request. But since there is a lot of material left out of the season two finale. Such as dialog, scenes of the team and league taking down the mfds and maybe some other things. Could there potential be plans to release those things in a comic adaptation or a movie version of the finale?
And as an aspiring writer do you have any advice on how to get my ideas out there. Fanfiction websites don't really work all that much.
After young justice are you gonna return to finishing the spectacular spider man show anytime someday soon I really want that back as well because it's the best adaptation of spider man that has been made
when are bart and jaime's birthdays? if you're unaware, could you ask their creators for me?
When M'gann found out Garfield got shapeshifting power from the blood she have to him to live was she said it did not gave him a longer lifespan like she has?
Did Miss Martian think Garfield would reject her if he saw her true form?
Hey Greg, I love DC Showcase: Green Arrow as he's my favorite comic book character. I know you already said that doesn't take place on Earth 16 but a version of it did go down and you planned on putting it in the comic. I was wondering
1: How come the story never turned up in the companion comic
2: If the companion comic were to be brought back, would you like to tell that story still?
3: Do you have any plans of adding the 2nd speedy in the show?
First of all, I would just like to say that Young Justice is one of my favorite shows, ever, and I think you and the team behind it did an amazing job. I was rewatching the other day and I noticed something in Alpha Male. M'gann talks to Superboy telepathically a handful of times, but it's never really clear as to whether she's selectively talking to him or if it's a group communication she just directed towards him, what's going on?
Was Marie Logan's body remove from the truck that was found up side down in the water?
In what decade did M'gann started using megan as her fallback form on her home planet?
I was rewatching Young Justice the other day and I was wondering how long it took for the Bioship to fly places. Is it faster than a commercial plane? It can enter space, so it's capable of accelerating fast enough to leave the atmosphere, so does M'gann slow it down while just flying around Earth or is the Team constantly flying at that kind of speed?
I read a fan theory that aqualad and Artemis will be couple in season 3. Please tell me that is NOT true because it will be shame if she start dating one of Wally's closest friends. I know she can move on and date someone who she like but what if Wally back? It just will make the situation strange and uncorftable. Artemis and Wally are my favorite couple and I will ship them forever. They had so much sweet and romantic moments, they love each other and so many fans ship them and when he died it broke my heart. Please tell me IF Wally back they will be back together. But please be honest. And this is SPOILER REQUESTS, isn't it?
Are there any subteranian Gargoyles? like, they can fly/glide, but they prefer to live underground and are good diggers?
As of your answering of this question (presumably a few months after I've asked, or so I'm counting on), do you know how close we are to a YJ trailer? If so, how close? Unless there already is a trailer by then (unlikely), in which case never mind.
Hey, Greg! I'm so excited for season 3, I can't believe the show is coming back after so long. I've never been so invested for so long in a cartoon series, and for that, I have to say thanks for providing this awesome series!
I'm a HUGE Spitfire fan, it's one of my main hooks to the series, that and Artemis is like my favorite female character ever. I just have a couple of questions regarding Spitfire.
1. In one of your responses about the pairing some time back, I recall that you gave a few reasons for why Artemis finds Wally attractive, such as his scientific brain and how he never gives up. Can you tell us some of the traits/aspects about Artemis that make her so attractive to Wally? (I'm not questioning WHY Wally would like her, but rather, from Wally's point of view, just what is it about her that fuels his crush/deeper feelings?)
2. During season 1, before they were together, did Wally and Artemis ever spend time together outside of missions, just the two of them?
And one question just about Artemis:
3. Out of pure curiosity, do you think Paula or Lawrence chose the name Artemis when she was born, or did they mutually choose it? How about Jade?
Thank you for your time!
1: What inspired Wonder Woman to return to the wider world after WW2?
2: Do the Hawks have a secret identity? What do they do when they aren't heroing?
3: Have they considered having kids? If so would they lay eggs or give live birth?
4: Does the YJ Batman see Batman as the mask Bruce Wayne wears, or Bruce Wayne the mask Batman wears?
5:Who owns Kord Industries with Ted's death?
6: Do any of the league members have a pet worth mentioning?
Sir, i also wanted to know if Wally really died at the end of Season 2 or are you taking a spin of Rebirth and New 52 where no speedsters actually die they become trapped and submerged in the speed force until they find their anchor back to the material world?
Hey Greg huge fan and astounded Young Justice is coming back, I had two questions.
1. I was very interested in the whole five-year gap between the team defeating Vandal Savage and we see him meet up with Darkseid and the team five years later with new members and orgins as well as deaths. I was wondering would you ever consider making a season that would be dedicated to the five-year gap? it would answer a lot of unanswered questions as well as show some of the Jason Todd stories which is very cool and could mix up the story
2. My second question is with this whole new adoption and takes on the story of the team and the acceleration of time in the story, could see a Stephanie Brown and Tim Drake relationship and with Tim getting older possibly be leading up to a Damien Wayne Robin leading the team instead?
Thank you for your time, Mr. Wiesman, I'm such a fan and so stoaked this amazing show is coming back.
When's Tim Drake's birthday?
With Martian shapeshifting, would a reasonably powerful martian be able to incorporate changes permanently into their base form? i.e a Martian that saw fish and water creatures, goes "i think these creatures are cool, with their gills and floating around underwater" and incorporates gills into their base form? ....also, Martians true forms have webbed hands and feet....was there ever an explanation for that?
Hey Greg, there has been some fairly new explanations to the Speed Force in the comics that might make more sense to you at why there is a force that makes people fast, but not strong, etc. - Basically, the Speed Force is a force, similar to gravity, except that instead of keeping us grounded to the earth, it's the force that moves time and space forward. The reasoning for it granting people powers is because as it moves time forward, it builds up excess energy that needs to be released, which happens when speedsters run and give off lightning. Basically, the speedsters are the Speed Force's "release valve". Without them to expend the energy, time would not function properly. I hope this makes sense to you and I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks!
In a fight between Oberon with only the strength of of one of his "Children" and the space spawn who would win?
Question: Just saw the character lineup for the Team! Looks wonderful, and I laughed out loud when I saw that Cassie looked so...CASSIE! It appears that none of the first six/eight members are present. Question: Where can we get those black Young Justice shirts?
Thanks for bringing much joy to my life with the creation of my show, not to mention hardcore shipping feelings.
And aw snap! I hope we get to see our favorites, and I don't doubt that we will. Slim chance that Mr.Greg Weisman would toss aside Nightwing/Artemis/Megan/Connor/Kaldur/Wally(oh.)/Impluse/Zee/Raquel(where did she go! besides the JL, obviously)/Tim
I can't wait to get my hands on this! I daresay it's my favorite animated series, ever.
And Traught (Nightwing/Artemis) is my favorite animated neverhapenning-couple/friend-lationship ever.
Think the internet would sign a Traught petition?
Thank you for your time, Mr. Weisman, your work is appreciated!
(P.S, can we get some throwback tidbits of humor? I am well aware of the fact that things will be getting more mature/dark, but I could use another "Hello, Megan!" or better, Dick and his "unwords". And maybe you would consider squishing in some more shared screen time with our dearest Nightwing and Artemis...because Gotham. And crazed fans.yay, Arrowette is here!)
I also feel guilty for not accepting the ships I'm supposed to ship. Just because I love Dick/Arty doesn't mean I hate you or any of the writers! Or Wally1 Or Linda Park!
Hi, Greg! There's been a lot of confusion about something you guys showed at the SDCC panel on July 21st. Is the black man pictured with Artemis, Dick, and Conner supposed to be Kaldur or Black Lightning? I ask this because we all kinda assumed it was Kaldur despite the change in appearance, but comicbook.com is claiming that 'an artist on the show' told them after the panel that its Black Lightning.
I hope this doesn't count as a spoiler request--based on the fact that the identities of the other three was really clear, I figured any confusion about Mystery Man's ID wasn't actually intentional. Thank you!
What was Miss Martian 's age when she first began shapeshifting into Megan form on mars?
Will Jason Todd/Red Hood appear in season 3?
Was Miss Martian born before Paula Crock was born?
Did Garfield see Miss Martian on the news during the time after his mom was murder but before he started living at the cave?
Hi Mr Weissman, sorry to disturb you but it's the third time I'm sending a question and haven't received an answer. I wanted to ask you if you have ever read the old Impulse comics and if you plan adding anyone in the new season of Young Justice. It would be nice to see some Bart/Carol friendship from there, she was a big influence in his life after all...
Thanks a lot and good luck on season 3!
Is Traci 13 biracial? I assume this is not a spoiler question, since you confirmed Artemis was biracial before the show premiered.
Greg, you once said that even in season 2, YJ was still a show about the six leads from season one. (I don't recall the exact quote. Sorry if I've got it wrong.) Is that still the case with season 3?
I might be imagining things, but it seemed as though Jaime's Scarab seemed to genuinely enjoy Jaimes company, is this true?
Looking at the concept art for YJ3 it looks like Mia Dearden, if so will you be true to her character and keep her HIV+ as it is so important for representation!!!
I just rewatched spectacular spiderman and I feel there were a few bits inspired by the Rami trilogy, is that true?
Are any of the league members embarrassed at having giant statues of themselves in the Hall of Justice? (I can't imagine Batman being happy about it.)
Hi, Greg. Warner Bros. have given us a 2018 premiere date for Young Justice: Outsiders. However, as I'm sure you remember, there were some production delays on season one, and sometimes long intervals between new episodes because sh*t happens. Is it possible that the series may be pushed back to 2019?
Hi!!!!!! Huge fan of your show and quick question. In young justice comic issue 7, Artemis is waiting for her mother at a bus stop, and her mother asks if her father is coming. Does this mean that her father left her alone at a young age, and if he did what age was she when he left?
Did the boy Garfield Logan watch the news in 2010 that show Icon and other new members joining the justice league?
What's the status on Rain of the Ghosts? Are you going to do an AudioPlay for Spirits? Have you put Masque of Bones on hiatus?
What is the hardest decision you've ever had to make, storytelling-wise?
Given that martians can assume male or female forms, does that mean that their sexual orientations are likewise fluid? For example, would M'Gann find females attractive if she assumed the shape of a man?
How long does a martian pregnancy last?
There are some pretty smart and intuitive people on the League and on the team. It wouldn't surprise me if some of them suspected that Aqualad's apparent murder of Artemis wasn't what it seemed. There was Zatanna (who provided the glamor charm), Captain Marvel (who possesses the wisdom of Solomon), and Aquaman (who knew Kaldur as well as anyone and while not as brilliant as Batman still comes off as highly intelligent). Did any of them suspect the truth about Kaldur and Artemis?
Not a question, but:
I was reading Thomas Hardy's "Far From the Madding Crowd" yesterday, and one of the chapters involved an architectural gargoyle, which Hardy called throughout a "gurgoyle". This is the first time I've come across that variant spelling for "gargoyle", but I wanted to share it with you. (I don't know whether the variant was Hardy's invention or not, but it most likely stems from "gurgle", linked to many gargoyles functioning as waterspouts.)
Did Klarion offer Wotan, Felix Faust, Blackbriar Thorn, and Wizard anything in return for their help with his spell in "Misplaced?"
Hey Greg! I have two questions.
1. Do female Martians get periods?
2. Can Superboy grow facial hair?
1) Were the Scout Scarabs sent out by the Reach prior to the treaty with the Guardians or would even that have been a violation?
2) Who actually needs to invite the Reach for it to be Guardian official? I imagine UN counts, but would a country's leader be valid to allow them into their controlled territory? Would a private landowner that wanted some friends be able to nullify Green Lantern jurisdiction?
3) Icon (at least) was referred to as the Cooperative Delegation a few times. Assuming that means that Earth was being evaluated for a place among the Collective, were they aware of the Rimbor Incident?
4) Was the Collector of Worlds from one of the worlds he mentioned?
Ahoy Mr. Weisman!
In yer eyes, who is the most redeemable villain in yer show, Young Justice?
I highly appreciate yer work; in fact it was ye who inspired a young scalawag like me to pick up a quill and start writing.
Yo ho ho, and a bottle of rum!
Season 3 looks to be quite fun!
Have you seen Disney's 2017 live-action Beauty & the Beast film? If so, what did you think of Dan Stevens' performance capture work in the role of the Beast? Do you think that kind of performance/mo-cap work could be utilized in depicting Goliath and his clan if Disney were to ever make a live-action film of Gargoyles?
Hello from the UK Mr. Weisman.
I know we saw in "Depths" that Ms. Martian and Superboy posed as Martian Manhunter and Superman respectively for a press conference so that the public didn't know about their mentor's situation. While press conferences are one thing, superheroics are another.
So while the "Rimbor Five" were on trial for their crimes, who looked after their respective cities? Cause I doubt the likes of Joker or Poison Ivy would stop their criminal activities because Batman wasn't there to stop them.
For example, did Nightwing go around Gotham dressed as Batman while Bruce was on trial to keep up the illusion that Batman was still around? Or was Gotham Batman free for those in-universe months Batman was away?
I have a question regarding Spectacular Spider-Man:
Were there ideas you had that you couldn't do for the show or had originally planned but ended up changing? And no, I'm not asking a "what would you have done for season 3" kind of question. It's more of wondering what original ideas you had for seasons 1 and 2, if those ideas ended up changing or pretty much stayed the same from development to screen, and what they were.
Good day Mr. Weisman
I'm a big fan of Dick Grayson, and as such I've read most of the Titans and Nightwing trades, but my interest in the character was sparked by watching Young Justice, so thanks for that. I was wondering: how would you describe him as a character? There have been varying depictions in the comics so I was wondering how you think of him. In YJ Season 2 he was very serious which reminded me of Nightwing from the Wolfman/Perez era. Anyway, I just wanted to know your thoughts. Sorry for the length of this, thanks for your time, and I hope you have a wonderful day!
1. Were Wally and Artemis sexually active with each other in season 2?
2. Did they retired before or after start to live together?
3. Did Artemis used to forget Valentine's Day like Wally?
Hi. I'm sure this question has been asked before. It might even be me who ask it, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere no matter how hard I search.
Why wasn't Wonder Girl abducted by Kylstar? Was it because he didn't consider her strong enough? Or, was it because that as a relative newb she was unknown to him? Or, was it because of some other reason?
will the Young Justice Comics (2011-2013) be re-printed because of Young Justice season 3 coming out?
During their time at Gotham Academy, were Dick and Barbara in the same grade? Or was one of them in the grade below?
Hey Greg. Today Is The Day!
Yeah these are gonna be Young Justice Question(s). Here are my Questions:
1.Why did, After Red Arrow and Green Arrow had to stop him from Killing Lex Luthor, they place Arsenal on the team when it was clear to the human eye that he was suffering from some form of Mental Instability?
2.Was Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl And Martian Manhunter going to court on Rimbor really Necessary? The League knew there was something going on with The Light and sending their big guns off world would severely limit their chances of trying to prevent The Reach from taking over the world.
Yeah these are the Questions me and my friend were discussing last night. We felt as though they were some big gaping plot holes in our opinion.
1: Did Amanda Waller know that Superboy and Ms. Martian were replacing the Terror Twins and that the actual twins were to be swapped back in later?
2: What sort of crimes did Plastic Man commit before he became a hero? Any reason it took him 7 years to become a JL member?
3: Does Eel O Brien/Plastic Man retain his cold weaknesses from main comic world?
4: Do the villains on Earth 16 generally stick to a single city like normal continuity or are they more multi-city
5: Do any real life nations in the YJ earth not allow the Justice League in their borders the same way Biyalia doesn't.
At what point will Outsider be considered to be in-production? The writing is considered to be pre-production, right? I know you are now recording the voices. Is that part of the production phase?
How far up on the Kinsey scale would a woman have to be to be effected by Queen Bee's power? Would the extent of her homosexual attraction effect the degree to which she could resist Queen Bee's control? For example, would someone who was bi-sexual more readily resist her influence, or does her power not work that way?
A few years ago, in Geoff Johns' Justice League, Captain Cold said to Wonder Woman: "Not every super-villain wants to blow up the world." (Or words to that effect.) It got me to thinking... the Light's plans must seem like doomsday to most people who aren't on board with their agenda. It's hard for me to see how someone like Captain Cold, who we see robbing a bank in season 2, is going to benefit from the Light instigating an alien invasion. So, my question is: are there super-criminals in the YJ universe who disagree with the Light's plans or even actively oppose it?
Would it be fair to assume that in Earth-16, most of the heroes have more or less the same archenemies as their comics counterparts? I know L'Gann called Manta "our King's greatest enemy" and someone once asked about Lex and Supes and you basically said yes, but does it more or less apply to the rest as well?
Why did Wally attend public school? If he was such a genius, couldn't he have gotten a scholarship to a private school?
Hi Greg, I read somewhere you said that If possible you'd want to get to every young DC hero as young justice goes on. This might be a silly question but I just wanted to know if you were speaking broadly or literally. Also if what I read was wrong and you never said that feel free to ignore my question. Keep up the goof work, can't wait for season 3
Hey! Young Justice is my life. As of the time I'm sending this, Pride Month is almost over. I read over lots of the asks and replies you get on here and a fair amount are about something LGBT related, whether its about something thats akin to Fanfiction or borderline homophobic. I'm sure you might have come to dread those types of questions, but mines is a bit different.
I don't want you to think that I'm requesting this, i guess at the end of the day i am, but i mean so in the most respectful way possible. Please... If there's ever a time when you might include LGBT content or anything like it in YJ, please don't let it be queerbaiting. Its such a horrible thing to do to us. I don't think I'd be able to handle it from my favorite show. I don't think you'd ever let that happen, and i don't even think we'd get LGBT relationships in the show, but i just had to say it. For myself, just in case.
Hi Greg! Congratulations on getting season three, and hopefully many more.
1) Is the wildlife on the watchtower from the world it was originally stationed around?
2) What is Dick planning on majoring in?
3) Dick's standard override is RG-4 - RG presumably stands for 'Richard Grayson' but what does the 4 mean?
4) I noticed that Kevin Michael Richardson and Jason Marsden sang the Hello Megan and Reach commercial songs respectively. Were they picked because they had singing voices that fit the tone you were going for, for the symbolism of them also voicing J'onn and Bart, or a mixture of the two?
5) Did Marie Logan act in anything other than Hello Megan?
And, just as an aside - thank you for going to the lengths to represent different kinds of people. It really does mean a lot, even if it's in small, quiet details. I was honestly surprised at how much it meant to me to see in Face Your Fears that Kaldur would have trouble focusing with scents that the others barely noticed - I've never seen any characters that had sensory problems like mine, let alone a main character. It really does mean a lot, so thank you.
You have said that Zeta-Beam transportation to Mars hasn't been set up yet because, until Sardath accidentally brought Adam Strange to Rann, it wasn't thought to be possible. However, you have also said that Martian Manhunter was initially brought to Earth via a Zeta-Beam accident. Shouldn't that have indicated to the League and Zeta-Beam scientists that it is, in fact, possible?
Why does the Young Justice tie-in comic have lightning for the speedster but the show does not?
In season 1 episode 9 "Misplaced", Robin mentioned that everyone in the world 18 years or older, "including Red Arrow" had gone missing. And I believe Red Arrow was absent from this episode as well, in both dimensions. Now that we know Red Arrow was really only 3 years old at the time of this episode, where the heck was he? Did the distraction allow the light more time to place more programming into Red's head, or did he actually disappear and that was a big plot hole?
Sorry if this has been asked before. :|
Did Sportsmaster wanted kids? Was he happy when Artemis and Jade were born?
1. Does Wally know about Lian?
2. Have Lian and Wally met?
3. How does he feels about her? Does he think of her like his niece?
In episode "Denial" Kent Nelson tells Wally "Find your own little spitfire, one who won't let you get away with nothin'. For example, that--" but is cut off when Wally removes the Helmet.
1. So what was he going to say?
In Spectacular 201, who were those... two... random guys with the tire iron on the bridge who tried to attack Mysterio? I didn't really think about it before, but in hindsight, they seem kind of random. Just... two guys, on a bridge, with a tire iron, and a loudmouth dude in a flashy costume shows up, if I recall hasn't actually done anything YET that they've seen, and they just decide to have a go at him.
I though maybe they were the security detail for the TriCorp shipment, but they have neither guard uniforms nor guns.
This is obviously a really tiny, unimportant thing, but... I don't know, it really stood out to me.
Did Wally ever told Artemis that she is his little spitfire?
Dear Greg, I was wondering why Artemis doesn't have a superhero name to go by (e.x. superboy, kid flash, etc...).
P.s. I'm a big fan of young justice and can't wait for season 3 :)
I have some questions about Spitfire.
1. Who first said "I love you"? Artemis or Wally?
2. After how many months he or she said it since they start dating? Or it was less than one month?
1) Was Jade holding back against Artemis in season 1? Because they are sisters and I'm sure they love each other.
2) Was Jade holding back against Artemis in season 2?
3) Was Artemis holding back against Jade in season 1?
4) Was Artemis holding back in season 2?
Would you come back for a Season 4?
What is a normal day working on YJ3 like?
from morning to evening (Details please)
Did Garfield loss all his pictures of his mom when mount justice as destroyed?
How did Marie Logan react when she first saw Garfield's eyes had change color from blue to green ?
Spectacular Spider-Man ended it's run on November 18th, 2009. It is June 23rd, 2017 as I'm writing this. To put it simply, it has been a while and with the show's successor Ultimate Spider-Man already completed it's run I was wondering if your opinions on the third season had changed. I know that previously you had said that ideas are only as good as their execution, and that you believed that without a show there was no point in spilling your ideas across the internet. I'm asking if you'd ever consider changing your mind and revealing these ideas, at least some of them (perhaps for the show's ten year anniversary)? Normally I would never ask such a question, I want to make it clear that my intention is not to pester or offend you. You are one of the most brilliant creators out there and your execution of ideas is incredible. But I feel I should at least ask. Due to the arrangements between Marvel and Sony changing it is my understanding that Marvel can never revive the series because Sony holds the rights to that particular version of the character. Why pay to use that Spider-Man when Marvel can make their own and milk it for cash? I would be disappointed but I would respect your decision if you choose to hold onto to these ideas, I know your intention is not to hold these ideas over our heads forever. I'm sorry if this question annoys, offends or warrants any negative response from you. I am not only a fan of the series but a fan of your work and that is not my intention.
Thanks for the great two seasons of the series and everything you've done since then.
When the first human members of the team became adult did Miss Martian at first have trouble acting like a adult around them because she still had mind of a teenager because she ages slower than a human?
Hey Greg, i have a question which hopefully won't be misconstrued as a spoiler request. You mention way back when that Cartoon Network wasn't ready to display openly LGBT characters in cartoons. However with Legend of Korra and later Star vs. the forces of Evil, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe and whatnot being more open with LGBT elements in series with a young demographic:
1. Do you think that Cartoon Network would be more open to having openly LGBT characters on Young Justice.
2. And in your opinion will cartoons in general start displaying more LGBT characters/themes?
Thanks in advance..
I've heard a lot about the "core truth" concept you and your team use in your approach to characters.
Are some of these core truths secrets, or would you tell us any that we ask?
I see alot of people asking questions about beast boy and what happened to him after his mother. How do you feel about how all these people wanting to know about Garfield?
In Young Justice, what specific convicted crime did Paula had to serve 6 years for? Was it a burglary, an attempted assassination, etc?
How Sportsmaster couldn't find Jade after she run away? I mean I think he could if he really wanted to because he was working whit shadows and Jade was 13. How hard is to find 13 years old girl? I don't know I just think he just didn't care back then. So my questions are
1. Did he really try to find her at all? Or he just ignored the fact one of his daughters run away.
2. Was Artemis disappointed when realize her sister will not come back?
Beast Boy has seen the martian true forn in in last young justice invasion episode . Does Beast Boy like or dislike the martian true form?
Just wanted everyone to know that it's the 20th June 2017 right now as I'm writing this, and even tho the final episode of Invasion came out back in 2013, technically the date of the final episode was set on 20th June 2016. We all know what happened one year ago today.
Thanks for bringing back my favourite show Greg, I hope you enjoy working on it as much as I enjoyed watching it. Thanks
Who help M'gann celebrate her birthday since she been living on earth?
How can Garfield have a picture the first members of the team in his mount justice room if the team is a secret group?
Was Garfield still living in Qurac or some place in the USA just before he starting living at the cave?
Was the martian people already living on mars before the human race existed on earth?
If the Atlanteans are most closely related to Ancient Greeks linguistically, then why do they refer to Neptune (i.e. Neptune's Beard, Neptune's Trident) when Neptune is the Roman version of the Greek God Poseidon?
Hi Greg! As you're a big Shakespeare fan, I was just wondering if you ever come over to London and check out any performances of Shakespeare's plays at the Globe Theatre? If you do, would you be able to share any memories of your favourite performances there, please? The Globe Theatre's a great venue - I try to get over there every now and then!
A non Beast Boy question~
Been exploring Earth 16 Atlantis a bit, a few things that seem evident or a bit off.
1. The scene arrangement in Issue 14 seems to allude to the city state origins of several Atlanteans, are these correct allocations:
-Lori Lemaris: Tritonis
-Lagoon Boy: Neptunos
2. Wyynde has similar tattoo markings on his collar/chest to Lagoon Boy in Season Two, is his sorcery specialisation in the same area (puffer/strength)?
Atlantean differences are stated to be due to diverging evolutionary paths. We see multiple "Merfolk" type Atlanteans in addition to others more varied subspecies. Assuming there would be many of each of these subspecies, characters such as the Lagoon Boy would likely not have an unusual appearance when in the area where this subspecies developed/migrated to.
3. However, Lagoon Boy in particular seems to consider himself unusual. Does this line of reasoning not hold for his appearance, or was his strangeness just highlighted for character building purposes as an issue faced by real teenagers frequently and not entirely due to his Atlantean physiology?
1) Do you like film/tv adaptations of Shakespeare?
2) Which are your favorites?
3) Anthony Hopkins starts shooting King Lear for the BBC in
"I not only won't confirm or deny that Wally is coming back, I won't even confirm or deny that he's appearing in flashback, or confirm or deny that Jason Spisak is in any way involved with Season Three."
You do realize that there is a video of Jason in the studio with the rest of the season 3 cast, right? I guess he could just be stopping by to say hello to some of his old friends on the cast?
Why is it only years after Marie's death that Garfield starts living at the cave and not soon after Marie's death?
Hi Greg! I'm a journalist and a huge fan from Norway. I'm wondering if you are attending this year's SDCC? If so, can I contact you regarding a possible interview or at least buying you a drink at some poing?
I genuinely hope the age difference is not a legitimate concern you have for Jaime and Bart's relationship. While yes, it can trigger an onset of issues for some people, plenty of couples receive copious amounts of support regardless of their gaps. (Sokka and Toph of Avatar: The Last Airbender as well as Katara and Aang, who happened to be 16 and 12 years old!) The self-internalized homophobic ones are mainly the belittlers of their relationship. I'm aware it's not a guarantee that you'll incorporate the ship into the show, but by the chances that you do, please do not let the age factor be a variable in your decision. I trust you'll develop them wonderfully since you've done so in the past.
Of the City States of Atlantis we are aware of as it exists on Earth 16 some have clear name origins whereas others are more obscure.
Poseidonis is obviously derived from Poseidon.
Tritonis from Triton.
Neptunos from Neptune (interestingly a Roman name though we see the Roman influences elsewhere in Atlantis).
Lemuria is the name of another mythical sunken continent as you are aware.
Nanauve I would guess derives from King Nanaue Sha'ark's name.
Crastinus from a bit of research could be derived from Carcinus a mythical giant crab but it could also be from Gaius Crastinus a Roman soldier which brings in the Roman influences again. There is also the speculation of himself sacrificing himself to gods of the Underworld which while not necessarily the Sea could be interpreted as Sea Gods to ensure a victory.
Shayeris I couldn't turn up anything of and the only connection I can make is to Hawkgirl but that seems an unlikely one. I'm sure this would count as a spoiler if it was though.
So could you confirm these origins for the names or correct me where I am wrong so long as doing so does not constitute a spoiler of course.
Has M'gann been to Garfield's nine or ten birthday?
Is young justice superman's lifespan the same or longer than a human?
does Zatanna and garfield ever spend time together
Hi Greg, hope you're doing good.
How old would Johnny Storm, Cyclops and Beast have been in the SpecSpidey universe relative to Peter (if you could have used them)? Would they have been 16 too?
Why did Miss Martian didn't want to join the justice league at the beginning of young justice invasion?
Been a long while since I've asked you anything here. I hope things are well with you. Sounds like you're busy these days and I'm glad to hear it.
I'm writing to ask you about Gargoyles. It's crazy to think that the property is approaching its 25th year. And very cool to think that "in-universe" Artus and other gargoyles around the world are less than a year away from hatching!
But what I'm writing about is the future of Gargoyles on television, in comics, novels, etc. It feels like the last few years have been very quiet for Gargoyles. The last Gathering is nearly a decade behind us. We've had no new material in even longer. Revisions on GargWiki only trickle in these days. Gargoyles fan sites are steadily being abandoned or dying. Even Ask Greg is far more of a Young Justice site these days. The Comment Room is pretty quiet, a shadow of what it was when I first discovered it over 17 years ago. And we fans are slowly growing older. And with all of these disheartening facts, I'm beginning to lose hope in new Gargoyles material from here on out.
It's hard for me to even admit that. I can remember getting very fired up and launching into pep talks when others would express similar thoughts over the years. Maybe I'm writing this in hopes of getting a pep talk myself. I don't know. Really, I just want to know what your thoughts on the future of Gargoyles is. Good or bad, I'd just like to hear it from the man himself.
Let me be clear: I'm not asking if you've given up on the property. I know that you have never failed to look for an outlet to tell your stories and I know that if you were given a chance you'd happily tell those stories in any medium. I'm just curious about your personal and professional opinion on any future Gargoyles products.
I will always be a fan. I will always love the stories you've told us. I will always have some hope that more stories will be told and I'll be quick to support the property if/when that happens. I'm just feeling like Gargoyles is all in the past. Honestly, am I right? Or am I just being dramatic? And if Gargoyles does have a chance in the future, what can we do to help it along after all these years?
Thanks, Greg. You rock. Thanks for everything!
How many bedrooms are in Artemis and Wally's apartment in Palo Alto? Please be hones I'm not gonna tell Cartoon network.
And did they slept together?
Mr. Greg, even though the Goliath Chronicle episodes wasn't your idea, do you still support them? They're very believable even so.
1) Have you read Marvel's Power Pack by Louise Simonson and June Brigman? What did you think of it?
2) Don't you think someone should make a movie or tv series based on it? To me, it's a no-brainer.
Why dos Garfield have his mom's last name and not his dad's last name?
Did Garfield tell his sister M'gann that Queen Bee killed mom before the YOUNG JUSTICE INASION EPISODE EARTHLINGS?
Also in Young Justice I'm wondering if a regular hero without speed would have run by the speedsters while Wally was siphoning off the energy would the non speedster hero die instead?
Extremely excited to watch Young Justice Season 3 in the near future! I have a couple of Aquaman-centric questions
1. How old was Aquaman when he began his career?
2. How old was Black Manta when he assumed his mantle?
3. At what point in Aquaman's career did Manta and Aquaman first encounter one another?
I ask these questions due to Aqualad's age. Aqualad was 16 in 2010 and Black Manta was 37 that same year. That means Black Manta was only 21 years old when Aqualad was conceived with Sha'lain'a. With Aquaman only being 29 in 2010 that means he was only 13 when Black Manta did the deed.
With that logic Black Manta must have traveled to Atlantis before he even encountered Aquaman, right?
What was Garfield Logan's age when Bruce Wayne started paying for his schooling?
Did Miss Martian use the Megan Morse form when she was growing up on mars?
While wading through all these Young Justice topics, I must ask a couple things about Spectacular Spider-Man.
1.Confirmation of characters.
So as you know, you and your team decided against creating original characters for the show. EVERY named person had to be from the comic books, even if alterations were made to their race (Ned, Kenny, Kingsley, Debra, Fancy Dan, Ox, Liz, Mark, the Warren bros. etc.) or gender (Mayor Waters). However there are a few characters that you confirmed who they were, but we didn't get to see too much of them since their role in Peter's life had yet to be realized (Jason Ionello, Tiny McKeever), and would have been more active in Season 3, which is a shame we never got. We also got some fun characters like Dilbert Trilby (Bugle obituary writer in comics, newscaster in Spectacular), Matthew Resnick (Officer murdered in "Maximum Carnage", Vault warden in Spectacular) and Trina (barista/cashier in "Brand New Day" and the same in Spectacular)
That said, there are some characters that we never got names for and just need a confirmation that they are who we think they are. We have Hammerhead's chauffeur, who we believe is Myrna, who in comics is Hammerhead's moll from Gerry Conway's "Gang War" arc.
Another character you mentioned is Eddie's roommate at the Empire State University dorms. You mentioned that his name was "Josh something", and he was indeed from comics. The only Josh that we were able to find was Josh Kittling, Randy Robertson's friend in college during Stan Lee's "Crisis on Campus" with students protesting and a plot to steal the Lifeline Tablet. He was a black student during the racially charged late 60's early 70s [when the comic came out])
Now the question is, are we correct about Myrna and Josh? And are there any other characters from comics that who we've seen, but weren't didn't have their names said in the show (much like Tiny, Jason, Myrna and Josh), if so, who were they? Or if you just provide names, I'm sure we could find them.
So as you know, Ned would have gotten much more screen time in season 3. However, it was mentioned that there was ground work with him and Betty laid out in season 2 that was recorded, however it was cut as there were time constraints and the scenes weren't all that important in the scope of things happening in Peter's life. So out of curiosity I must ask what those scenes consisted of? Simple things like Ned flirting with Betty, or starting to have a romance (kind of like Flash and Sha-Shan's scenes but Betty being more receptive to Ned's advances), or was there anything deeper than that? Also what kind of person is Ned? How would you describe him in Spectacular? In comics, he wasn't too much of a character, but just got wrapped up in a major storyline WAAAY after he was introduced, but I'm curious to know your thoughts on Ned Lee(ds). Not to ask what your plans were for him in a hypothetical season 3, but more along the lines of how you described Betty (being someone who can handle someone like Jonah with ease).
While I think that it wasn't as thoroughly thought out as Young Justice (like the exact dates they were born and all that), I am curious about the ages of a few characters. Don't worry; I'm not going to ask their EXACT ages and blood types, but generally a ball park. We know most of Peter's circle is 16 (Liz, Harry, Gwen, etc.) with Flash turning 17 in the series, Kenny and Rand being high school seniors (which would put them at 17-18), Eddie being a college freshman (which would put him at 18-19), Betty being 20, Debra Whitman being graduate student age (which would put her in her early to mid-20's), I can assume Norman is in his early to mid-40's, with my assumption that May, Vulture, Tinkerer, Silvermane, being in the same generation (Maybe late 50's early 60's?) However, who I'm interested in is Electro… clearly he's older than Pete's high school crew, but he's also clearly younger than someone like Ock, whom I assume in his late 30's to early 40's. I can only assume that Spectacular Maxwell Dillon is in between Eddie Brock and Debra Whitman's ages… So would I be correct about Max?
IS A MARTIAN BIO SHIP'S LIFESPAN LONGER THAN A HUMAN?
In "Vows" When Goliath told to the young Demona about doing nothing to prevent The Wyvern Castle Massacre. To not let the petty jealousies that prey upon her heart. To fortify herself with love. Was he really hoping to prevent the future and was it his last attempt to reason her?
Hey Greg, congrats on Young Justice Season 3. I have a few quick questions on Spectacular Spider-Man.
1) Peter in the comics is generally considered to be 5'10". Your Peter said he was 5'6". Was the idea to eventually grow him to 5'10" or keep him the same? Sorry if this goes into spoiler territory.
2) Unlike Batman and Superman, Spidey's archenemy is a bit more debatable. Most will point to either GG Doc Ock or Venom but it partly depends on the writer's preference, the era and the continuity. I was surprised by how much equal dedication you guys gave to the Big Three; I feel most Spider-Man writers are somewhat biased to one or the other. So I'm curious, would you say YOUR version of Spidey had an archenemy in the show or did you see all three of them as equals? My instincts tell me it's Norman after Final Curtain but I'd like to hear it straight from the horse's mouth.
Thank you and best regards,
