Hmm . . . that may be true, but being that most of the conversations are on the top tower, I can't see where Xanatos could have placed a camera that could potentially be 'looking down' on the couple. The again, maybe he's got one from below facing up?

Not really the subject at hand, but it was buggin' me logistics-wise, so I decided to throw that out too :P

Im bored and trying to put off my hoemwork so I thought Id post a random question: do you think Xanatos knows about Goliath and Elisa? If so, what do you think his thoughts are?

I think he knows and simply does not care. The way he tells Elisa that Goliath is waiting for her in 'Hunter's Moon, Part Three' has a very 'whatever' feeling to it and yet knowing at the same time. But there's no other hints of it in the comics (despite the fact that there's cameras all over the castle so he could have easily one of their three kisses).

Your thoughts? Anyone?

PS - To whoever gave me editing powers on GargWiki, thank you so much! I promise to use this power only for good! ^_^

So now we've got at least three St. Louisans visiting the comment room.

@Valonsire: In MY country!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

It's just a blast!! I gotta get up at 6 in the morning - but I'll HAVE A FRIGGIN BLAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow, I know, somwhere kid are going to watch this!! And they'll like it!! They'll look it up on the internet, and suddenly come across this site, and the comics, and get their parents to translate them and shit... gawd, this somehow really amazes me... I want a TIVO!! :D

One of my favorite things about living in St. Louis is the annual Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. It is always one of the highlights of the year. (So what if I went with Sarah last year...she broke up with me, her loss) It is one of the largest Japanese Festivals in the Country. There's always a big turnout, with people from all over...especially from Japan.

The Mayor comes during the opening ceremonies, and cracks open a case of Sake to kick off the celebration, and we spend three days exploring and enjoying all things Japan. Sake, Food (Me LOVE Sushi!), Anime, Martial Arts, Kendo, Japanese Tea Ceremony on the Sacred Islan in the middle of the lake, Japanese Language, history and culture. It's ALWAYS awesome.

I wore my Yama shirt that I bought at the Gathering today, and someone asked me if he was from an Anime...I had to answer "not quite..." and then went on to explain who he was. (I'm thinking of getting a sticker that points to Yama and says "I'm Yama and I'm a Tengu")

I'm going back tomorrow and Monday for the festival...it should be a blast, and the Japanese Cooking session is both interesting and delicious. :)

>Matt and Todd, you're both from my neck of the woods...If you've never gone to the Japanese Festival...you should check it out. I'm going to wash my Yama shirt tonight, but I dunno if I'll wear it tomorrow...prolly not...I have something better in mind. (Word of warning, the Festival is not free--$15 dollars a head I think--but I have a Botanical Gardens membership...and if you get the membership, you get all three festival days free)

Phoenician : The line you're reffering to is in part three of "A Tale of Three Brothers". It's located in the unsorted archives.
Spen

Of course, that story's called "Three Brothers" not "Tree Brothers" (OY)
Phoenician
"The Suspense is Terrible . . . I Hope it Lasts" -- Willy Wonka

The one CiT bit that I know regarding the naming of gargoyles comes from the "Tale of Tree Brothers" where the future-captain of the guard mentions that the Wyvern clan is of rougher stock and that they don't even use names like the other clans do in the rest of Scotland (paraphrasing of course -- the story by Greg can be found somehwere around here and on the Gargwiki).

So while Wyvern wasn't the only clan known to not adopt names (Mayan clan has already been mentioned, and they survived to the present day), maybe that aspect of the "Gargoyle Way" was already in decline for most clans around the world as early as the 10th century AD, and maybe for Katana's clan as well.

Phoenician
"The Suspense is Terrible . . . I Hope it Lasts" -- Willy Wonka

Thanks for that Litwolf, I'd forgotten all about them being named after the stones. It's been a while since I've seen that episode.

It's certainly an interesting concept for a race to not use names to identify themselves.

I wonder if Katana was handy with a sword and that is where she got her name from?

I really hope we get to see all these adventures that Greg hints about. I don't care what medium, tv show, comic, novel. Anything is fine with me!

Cormak - [cormak3032 at aol dot com]

I think Brook and Katana's relationship will have its tender moments, but on the whole I think it'll be a lot rougher, more sarcastic. More butting heads and less whispering sweet nothings. I think greg once described the relationship as Sam-Diane esque.
I really hope so, as it will contrast with the Goliath-Elisa, Broadway-Angela relationships more that way.

Cormak > The Clan in the Green only had names because they were the ones who held the stones. Their names reflected the stones that protected them from stone sleep. No other gargoyles in the Clan were given names.

I think even Ishimura gargoyles held off on names so Katana probably took her name when she decided to join Brooklyn on his journey. Maybe as a sign that she had accepted that she loved him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Something sweet like that ^_^

Only the Manhattan clan never lived the last 1,000 years. Every other clan did...they learned to use names over the centuries. The Princess and Magus named the eggs because it was human nature to name things.
Battle Beast - [Canada]
That is all I will say.

I got my Clan Building Vol 1 Trad paperback yesterday. I felt like a little kid again, reading about GARGOYLES. I bought issues 1 and 2 when they came out and then going full time at work I lost all track of when the other issues came out. I'm now all caught up.

I'm really bummed about the license situation. I really hope that something can be worked out.

Further down in the comments, someone mentioned liking the trade books because they are sturdier. I have to agree and I really like having all the issues in one place to flip through at my leisure.

The comics are really great. Most of the art is fantastic except for issue 4. Didn't care fo the art style of heavy inking, but loved the color and style for 5 and 6, but especially 5.

Cormak - [cormak3032 at aol dot com]

The clan in the "Green" also had names, too. Perhaps it is just the way of the clan at Castle Wyvern to not use names??
Cormak - [cormak3032 at aol dot com]

Dang... That's pretty cool actually. Now you know you've had a part in resurrecting Gargoyles in another country XD

As it just turned out, GARGOYLES WILL RESURFACE ON GERMAN TV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNCUT!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

OK, it'll be broadcasted at 6 in the morning... BUT DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D : D

Partytime!!

Given that the Ishimura Clan has been in close contact with humans for a long time, it is possible that they were already using names even in Feudal times, in which case Katana already had her name when Brooklyn meets her.

Of course, it is also possible that Brook names her or she names herself due to his influence. Hell, maybe the whole Clan started using names because of Brook's influence.

Here's something that just occured to me: Katana, Brooklyn's mate he meets during his TimeDance, will come from ancient Japan, back in the days when gargoyles didnt have names. Who do you think named her? Maybe Brooklyn, or she chose her own name? Do you think it took Brooklyn a little time to convince her to take a name? Like tey traveled around for a bit an then she named herself? i think maybe it took her time to decided she wanted a name.

Anyways, I finally got around to continuing The Spectacular Spider-Man reviews starting with Persona.

- Whether it was the animated series from the 90s or the original comic or the movie I enjoyed The Alien Costume Saga. Whether it's the effect that the costume had on him or the various designs of the costume I haven't decided.

- What I like about this version of the story is the blending of the other versions of the story (Playing his conscience, improving his physical attributes and the control over him as seen in the next episode).

- Between the goop comment (as well as her other wiity dialogue), the kitty sense and the kissing scene at the end, you just can't go with this Black Cat.

- Have to say that the Chameleon's disguises are impressive. His "Spider Sense" and quips are priceless. As for Quentin Beck and Phineas Mason, they're okay, but as for them returning. Well, I don't think they could fight Spidey on their own. Beck for one, would be better off getting a fishbowl (For putting some fish in of course).

Sorry, Matt. I've been through a tough loss this past week so I know how you feel. :)
Battle Beast - [Canada]
That is all I will say.

MATT - I agree with you on "Pendragon". In #8, Arthur says that he and Griff had searched for Merlin in all the obvious places; I suspect that those investigations would have been in the "Pendragon" spin-off if it had been (or will be) made. Greg Weisman said once that Arthur and Griff would visit Stonehenge and Tintagel during their search; since both of those would clearly count as "obvious places", Arthur and Griff must have visited them before the Stone of Destiny adventure.
Todd Jensen

Matt> Well, yes, that's true. I just wanted to give another comic-based example.
Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Actually, I think the episode "Pendragon" would be the jumping off point for the Pendragon spin-off, with Issues 7-9 being more like a crossover point between the two series'.

Thanks for the condolences, everyone.

Matt - [St Louis, Missouri, USA]
"Many a small thing has been made large by the right kind of advertising." -Mark Twain, 'A Connecticult Yankee in King Arthur's Court'

Valonsire> 1-12 is still all Clan Building. People are just calling it that because that's what the last 3 issues will be dealing with. A main series set-up for the spin-off, should it ever happen, kind of like the Rock storyline would be a starting point for Pendragon.
Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Valonsire> Timedancer (or at least the three issue Timedancer story we'll be getting in the main series) is part of "Clan Building", just like the "Rock" storyline is part of "Clan Building."
Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

I'm sorry to hear about your loss, Matt. I remember what it was like a little under four years ago, when my old grey cat Merlin, who had lived with me for almost sixteen years, passed on. (One of the worst parts of that was that, for the next couple of days, I'd be leaving my apartment, would begin to say to him that I'd soon be back or would be back later, and then remembered.)
Todd Jensen

Matt> I know how you feel. I've had a pet die in my family, and its almost like losing an arm or a leg, at least thats how it felt for me.

Anyways, I am a little confused. I thought that Gargoyles 1-12 was all clan building. Are you guys saying that Clanbuilding ends at 9 and timedancer beings at 10??

Glad the Comment Room is back again. Had me a little worried.

Of course, it has been a rough week and it is only Wednesday...

Yesterday, my dog, Gus died in my arms. He was very sick. The last thing he did was lick the tears off my cheek and then he passed away. It was pretty awful.
On a Gargoyles related note, Gus was a Cairn Terrier. He was descended from the dog (Terry) that played Toto in Wizard of Oz. Since both cairns and The Wizard of Oz were mentioned in the episode "The Hound of Ulster", I chose Cuchullain as my avatar in this Room way back in 2001. So, the reason I've been posting as Cuchullain all these years is because of my dog Gus.
He was never a "Great Beast", but he was a great dog and I'll miss him.

I certainly hope that Gargoyles #9 gets published in September; I've been looking forward to it for five months now. The Stone of Destiny story has included so much of one of my favorite aspects of "Gargoyles": the use of myth, legend, and history. And even if you don't care about those things, it has so much else to appeal to, whether you like gargoyle biology and sociology, action scenes, drama - it's even got something for everyone who's convinced that big coffee franchises are evil!

I hope so too.

Cuz #9 isn't out...it doesn't make sense to release #10 & THEN #10...though I kinda feel the same way, but for different reasons. I already know what happens in #9, I want a new story...and I want to see Greg Guler's art; which Karine said at the Gathering made her "let out a fan-girl squee".

I hope #10 does get released individually...I'd LOVE to have a purely Guler drawn comic, with no other artists.

Liwolf> I'm good either way. The only minor concerns I have are that, with my less than great eyesight, the full size comics are a bit easier for me to read and that I would be somewhat disappointed if we didn't get cover images for the stories that didn't come out in single issue format. But aside from that, as long as they stories get finished, I'm good.

I would tend to agree, but...I think that issue #10 may get released individually as well...I think Greg said at the Gathering that it was ready.

I was wondering the same thing. On the gargoylescomics.com it says that september is the end of the comics, so im wondering if this is it for the single issues and if now we have to wait for the trade.

If this is the case how long do you think it will take to complete the trade? Don't we still need a new artist to, or has this been taken care of?

Demonskrye > What you say makes lots of sense. Honestly, I wouldnt complain too much about the issues we havnt read only being available in the paperbacks. Those books are sturdier than individual issues. But, I still think Ill see if I can gather up enough money to buy all the comics from ClanBuilding. I like the idea of having the comics and then the paperbacks. Maybe that makes me weird ^_^
Litwolf
<Be happy for me and for all who fly free.> - Tobias of Animorphs

Asatira> Greg said that we were going to get the full story arc of "Clan Building" and the remainder of the "Bad Guys" miniseries. He also said that we might get them some of the material solely in the TPBs and not as single issues. I wasn't sure initially why this might be the case, but it could be that September is the cutoff for single issues under the SLG/Disney deal.
Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

Litwolf> I don't think that's true if only because Greg has said that we're pretty much guaranteed by the contract to get to issue 12. But this was a couple months ago, and things may have come up. I doubt this is the case with Gargoyles; we'll most likely get the individual issues and then get the trades. I don't know about any of the other titles licensed from Disney. Maybe that's what it's referring to. Like mentioned earlier, Tron is finishing up this month. Maybe others are as well.
Asatira

I just looked at the newest Unanswered Questions. Someone said that SLG wont be allowed to publish the comics individually after the end of September! Does anyone know if this is true? I have ClanBuilding Vol 1 and had been thinking about getting the individual comics from that.
Litwolf
<Be happy for me and for all who fly free.> - Tobias of Animorphs

That'll teach me to take a few days off from checking up on s8 only to find it down. With Tron #6 being released, doesn't that end all the comics aside from gargoyles that slg was wanting to initially produce it with its license from Disney? Is there any news about whether or not bad guys issue #5 will be released individually or not?

Oops. Forgot something. There's also a very fundamental difference between the two:

In Quantum Leap, the past was mutable. It could be changed, and the present (and future) affected as a result. In Gargoyles, it cannot. Things can only happen as they have. So if Brooklyn does anything, it will be because it already happened that way, not through a desire to change past events. Perhaps he's motivated to change events in his current present, but it won't make the world of 1996 any different.

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Wow, that sure is one disappointing Epilogue. :D

"and there won't be any hologram telling him what his job is this time"

:C
Majorly disappointed...
Gargoyles definetely needs many more Holograms that tell people what to do...

Brook

@ Greg: Kudos to you. :D How did this actually happen, I mean, why did you tell him?
A BRONX TALE still is the down point of all Gargoyles related... there are some Episodes in the World Tour I'm not that fond of, but compared to A BRONX TALE, they're LotR-quality.

I was unaware that Greg intended such a size. I was aware that he might have knowledge on what happenned during these 40 years, but hardly was I aware he had 40 years of MATERIAL!!
With 2198 and Dark Ages, I'd see potential for a lot of ongoing stuff, probably also with oendragon and Bad Guys, but Timedancer felt very limited to me, since at some point, it's storyline would cross with 2198 and the Gargoyles-main-series in the end. There'd be a fixed ending, whilst with Dark Ages and 2198, you might just go on forever.

I mean, he could also have done an AVALON spin-off, but he limited the material to fit into a few shows. With TIMEDANCER, I'd doubt he could keep up an ongoing series without annoying or, at least, unsurprising outcome. I dunno why... Timedancer would just do a great Mini series if you'd limit it to the necessary stuff, but as a series... we might need to see 5 seasons until Katana shows up...

Brook

Re: Quantum Leap

It ended by not ending. There as a whole episode, and a written epilogue at the end of it: Sam was stuck leaping for the rest of his life, and he never saw his family again. In the episode he did, however, save Al's first marriage by convincing the wife that he was coming home from the war and not to cheat on him while he was deployed. Thus, Al didn't have to suffer through all those messy divorces and his life was greatly improved as a result.

Anyway, the whole basis behind Quantum Leap was that he went around fixing things in the timeline. Sure, he wanted to go home, but that wasn't the point of the series. It was doing good wherever and whenever he could, at his and his family's ultimate expense. After all, to Sam's family, he's as good as dead for the rest of their lives.

The point of Timedancer is getting Brooklyn back home, and all he has to go through to get there. He *will* get home, with a family he acquired on his journeys, and there won't be any hologram telling him what his job is this time. He'll have to figure it all out for himself, if he chooses to accomplish anything in particular. Brooklyn also has a much wider time stream to choose from. Sam, for the most part, only leapt around during times after his own birth; the earliest I've heard rumor of Brooklyn going is during the time of the dinosaurs, and of course he picks up his mate in feudal Japan.

If you want a QL clone, Journeyman sounded more like one to me.

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

BROOK> "I sure know the whole story of TIMEDANCER, but I still think Greg never intended the Spin-offs to be hughe shows with more than 40 Episodes."

You're wrong. Greg had plans for his spin-offs to be on-going series, not mini-series. "Forty years" worth of stories for "Timedancer." Over twenty for "Dark Ages" and the rest could "run forever."

"Photos or it didn't happen!!"

No photos, but it happened right in front of me. I was the one who told him about the episode.

Greg Bishansky - [<---- The Twelfth Annual Gathering of the Gargoyles]
"Oh Lord, please help our athletes bring home the gold. Enough gold so we can melt it down and buy back our economy from the Chinese."

How DID it end...? Didn't it end totally weird, with him being stuck and somebody else timejumping? I just remember that he was crying and they zoomed on a photography, and the photography was "sort of" jumping... I can't remember...

Anyways, yeah, Quantum Leap was quite cool. But that's the point - it allready existed. So why exchange the main guy with Brooklyn, and the machinery with the Phoenix gate and do it all over again?
Future Tense proved that Greg has had some darker things in mind... so let's wait and see...

Demonskrye: Yah, Clan Building is definetely a term to symbolzie hoe the clan evolves - how it does we yet have to see though.

I sure know the whole story of TIMEDANCER, but I still think Greg never intended the Spin-offs to be hughe shows with more than 40 Episodes. I'm quite happy that Bad Guys gets the treatment with the Comics that it should have got in the first place: A "spin off", that, whilst the characters evolve and the Garg Universe gets bigger, still remains a spin off. I'd like to see 6 issues of TIMEDANCER comics in the future, but nothing as big as the AVALON WORLD TOUR - simply because we would get lost with time. We've yet to see how the Timedancing will play out in the Comics and how much room Greg has in mind for it.
If I'd done TGS (what - luckily - I did not ;) ), the TIMEDANCING would have at most 20 Episodes (multi-parters I count as 1 Episodes here). I think Broolyn is much more lost on his journey than anyone of us figured by now. From what i remember, TGS tackled the idea like that 80s, early 90s show, with that guy timetraveling into different bodys and doing good and leaving when he achieved the goal. I think with Brooklyn, whilst he managed to do some good, the thing is far more random, and whilst the Phoenix gate is OFF Avalon, I doubt it is like the boat goliath and Eliza travel on, that sends them where they are needed.

TIMEDANCER (at least from my impression) is still the darkest of the spin-offs, showing us a broken and confused hero, who does good now and then, but mostly is stuck with his own depression, not achieving his goals. In the end he sure does, but 40 years are a damn long time...

However, this is mere speculation. I'm intrigued to see how Greg approaches the idea in the remaining 3 issues. (not counting the conclusion of the ROCK... storyline)

Brook

Brook> Perhaps I'm just misunderstanding because I've never read much of TGS, but you do know that Greg was going to do "Timedancer" as a whole spin-off series, right? It was going to cover the 40 years Brooklyn spent following the Phoenix Gate through time and space. So yes, it would be long and involved, but it is canon, if I understand what you mean.

My gut feeling on Coldstone and Coldfire joining the Manhattan Clan is that they will eventually. I think Greg has said that it's going to happen at some point. The clan, especially Goliath, very much want them to come back. Aside from the Avalon Clan, the Manhattan Clan is the only family Coldstone and Coldfire have and I can't see any reason why they wouldn't rejoin them once Coldsteel was no longer a factor. Plus I kept hoping that Coldstone (and later Coldfire) would join the clan every time they showed up in the TV series, though - as much as the show did break the "rules" - they still didn't introduce a new main character without a big event like "Avalon" and the world tour surrounding the introduction.

Also, the current 12 issue arc in the comics is called "Clan Building," which has led a lot of people to speculate that the Manhattan Clan may grow its ranks by adding Coldstone and Coldfire as members.

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

Yeah, you're probably right... Id love to see it though...

With TGS I guess we've all got our issues here and there. I read a few of em, and I was disappointed to see TIMEDANCER getting so out of the propportions of a single story and evolving into a HUGHE non-canonical storyline that just took forever to catch up on, AND that TGS was carried out on a WAY less darker way Greg made it take from what we have seen. BAD GUYS 4 seems to be a turning point also.
Goliath is going to sacrifice himself (proof: GargWiki), Lex might struggle with his sexuality (I'm seriously looking forward how Greg tackles this issue - from what we've read, everybody in the Garg universe seems to be OK with it, which is certainly fine for Lex), Brooklyn with his knowledge of what-is-to-come, and I bet Broadway and Angela also will have their issues (we do not know anything of, as of now).
In TGS - everything ended just fine and was all pink and roses.

Still... I think as long as the two will be made of iron, they will NOT join the clan!! I cannot tell you where I've got this impression from... it just doesn't feel... right...

Brook

>Coldstone wants to return to the Clan and his rookery brother but, maybe after Goliath, the last of his rookery dies, maybe Coldstone and Coldfire would be haunted by too many memories and just power down.

In past discussions of the future for the Coldtrio, I've been on the side that doesn't want to see them restored to flesh and blood.

I agree.

For them to even BE reincarnated in the twentieth century is far more than any gargoyle that lived in the tenth century was entitled to. Extraordinary circumstances were necessary for any gargoyle living then to be alive in the twentieth century.

Michael Ejercito - [mejercit at hotmail dot com]

Kerry > Im with you. Whatever triggers their death (the passing of a generation, the clan's garunteed safety, or just the wear and tear of time), at some point, theyll get tired of life and just power down. Especially that sensory depreivation. Can you imagine living forever with no sense of touch? Coldstone and Coldfire have a purpose to their life right now: destroy Coldsteel. Once thats done, they can return to the clan but I cant imagine they want to be stuck in those mechanical bodies forever. One day, theyll let go and ascend to where ever the gargoyle heaven is.

Brook > That I dont think is going to happen. It was a nice idea for The Gargoyle Saga (that popular fanfiction continuation of the GargVerse) but good things cant happen to the good guys all the time (which is my biggest complaint about TGS; that everything was handed to the Clan on a silverplater). Much like the mutations of the Mutates, whats happened to them is a terrible and sadly irraversible fate.

Demonskrye > Ditto to everything you said, especially the deathbed idea. A one time thing before they passed away for good. That would be nice ending for them.

<Be happy for me and for all who fly free.> - Tobias of Animorphs

Brook> By "third season," do you mean The Goliath Chronicles? Granted I haven't seen most of the TGC episodes, but I don't really remember the Coldtrio ever appearing.

In past discussions of the future for the Coldtrio, I've been on the side that doesn't want to see them restored to flesh and blood. Right now, the three of them are spirits inhabiting robot bodies, ghosts in the machines, if you will. They were dead. They would still be dead if not for the interference of Demona and Xanatos. I'm not saying that it's necessarily a bad thing that Othello, Iago, and Desdemona didn't go on to whatever the gargoyle great beyond is. But there has to be a drawback. There's apparently a rule at Marvel Comics that if a writer brings a character back from the dead (literally brings a character back from the dead in the course of the story, rather than revealing that the character was never dead in the first place or some such thing), the writer must also devise a reason that this method of reviving a character cannot be used again. If the resurrection wasn't a one-time only deal, then there would be no reason for anyone in the Marvel Universe to stay dead. In "Gargoyles" the main reason no other gargoyles have been revived as Coldstone was is the drawbacks. Coldstone was clearly horrified by his new form when he first saw it. The presence of two other souls in his body nearly drove him nuts and made him a potential threat to his clan. His mechanical parts left him open to manipuation by Xanatos. And even though each of the spirits within him now has a separate body, none of them can fully experience life anymore. I'd imagine the difference between having a real living body and what the Coldtrio have now is similar to the difference between real life and playing a first-person video game. You can still see and head an control your actions and maybe you even have some abilities you didn't before, but senses like touch and smell and so many of the other things you get with an actual flesh and blood body are gone. The only way the Coldtrio could "truly live again" was by hijacking the bodies of other gargoyles, which presented its own problems.

If you take away the problem of the Coldtrio being stuck in robot bodies, you essentially take away death as a factor in the series. What was once a horrible and shocking tragedy becomes "Oh look, a smashed gargoyle. Let's sweep up the pieces and bring him back to life." Because there's no reason why any gargoyles would ever have to die before their time again.

The one way I would accept Colstone and Coldfire getting living bodies again is if it were a deathbed deal. Something where they realize they've lived out a normal gargoyle lifespan and find a way to return to flesh and blood so they can truly be together one last time before they die. But on the other hand, I've said before that I don't think characters in the Gargoyles Universe should have it any easier than people in the real world and there are plenty of people who deal with disabilities far more lifechanging than having a robot body. So the Coldtrio can deal.

Brook

OR - more likely to me - they'de be freed of their mechanic shells by a magic being. I think in the "third season" this happenned aswell, and whilst not all of it is canon (or, rather, 15% of it is), this is something I'd see sooner or later happening. At least I'd wish them to have it. The three were allways favourites of mine, the 2-Face-like-persona they had was dropped a bit too early for my liking even. So I'd rather like to see them Flesh and Blood than Tin and Chrome forever...
Brook

Litwolf> An interesting question. I'm not sure if Coldstone and Coldfire would consider one clan member's passing as the trigger for their desire to "die" or not, though I don't think they'd want to be around forever either. I know they're attached to Goliath as an individual, but the desire to protect the growing Manhattan Clan as a whole may loom larger than their grief. Perhaps they would be fine until the clan was stable and no longer "needed" their protection. Or maybe eventually the whole sensory deprivation thing (scent & touch) would eventually get to them.

Its the Coldtrio's future Im curious about. I feel like they wouldnt want to live forever. Like maybe after the current or next gargoyle generation passes on, if Coldsteel has been dealt with by that point, that Coldfire and Coldstone might just shut themselves down. Kinda like McBeth wanting to end his life after his family passed away. Immortality is great and all but why live forever if it just means that you keep watching everyone around you die. Coldstone wants to return to the Clan and his rookery brother but, maybe after Goliath, the last of his rookery dies, maybe Coldstone and Coldfire would be haunted by too many memories and just power down.

What do you think?

What about a Timedancing Brooklyn being #1?? :D Greg surely would have gotten me!!

Hudson is in the comics, and he's improving from his role in the show, methinks. So is Mr. T, who's become a favourite of mine now.
"I allways wonder what happens if I'd do... THIS!!" He's a badass...

Watched THE DARK KNIGHT a few days ago, and it stuck in my head how this would be the tone I allways wished for a Gargoyles life-action Film/series to have... I know Greg's a sucker for his timeline, but I'd love the canon history to be treated in such a dark and realistic way...

Anyways, I've did a short list!! HAHA!!

GARGOYLES CHARACTERS ELIMINATION LIST, MUAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAAARRRRRR
(not really, but rather a list of known and unknown things to come - mild spoilers, but just of what greg told us)

Goliath (adopting a child, around till 05 at least, where he's forced into hiding)
Elisa (adopting a child, future unknown)
Brooklyn (no records after Timedance/97)
Lex (aroung til 2007/after)
Broadway/Angela (have 3 children together, around til 2030/something)
Hudson (Future unknown, no records)
Xanatos (We can assume he founds the Xanatos Lex company around 03, after that no further records)
Demona/Macbeth (around for a hell of a long time)
Coldtrio (future unknown, no further records available)
Thailog (way too much badass to die!!)
Castaway (Future unknown)
Talon/Maggie/Claw (Talon and Maggie'll have a kid, future unknown)
Redemption Squad (Unknown - but seem to have a future outside of the Gargs storyarc)

Lotta room...

Brook

Well, for some reason, the comic store on Route 1 was closed yesterday. I didn't get out of the car to read the sign, but it looked like it might be due to a personal issue. So, I placed an order for two issues of BG #4 from Midtown Comics. Hopefully, I won't have to wait too long.

As far as character deaths are concerned, it's not something I really like to think about or speculate on too much. Probably because my own attitudes on it are nonchalant. When it happens, it happens.

As far as Broadway and Angela are concerned, I think the main draw there was Broadway's heart.

Not that anyone was expecting it, but no Gargoyles #9 this week (I just checked Diamond's shipping list). For anyone still following Slave Labor's other Disney adaptations though, Tron #6 comes out this Wednesday, which I believe is the final issue of the mini-series and was always intended as such.

I dunno, I didn't read it (though I liked some of the art I saw). I figured back when these started, if I ever got around to watching Tron (and maybe playing Tron 2.0, I think it only came out on PC), if I like the franchise enough, I would check out the trade.

Only other Disney comic I tried out was Wonderland, just issue #1. Not sure if that finished or got canceled mid-story or what. I liked the art, but wasn't so curious about Maryanne that I wanted to stick around for the story (if the comic had come out when I was a kid, I would've stuck with it--always curious about who the woman or girl the White Rabbit was shouting for and mistook Alice for really was). There was nothing wrong with the way it was written from what I remember, it just didn't grab me and I wasn't in the mood for a pure children's book.

Just a quick one: I just noticed, that Duval IS actually two - and Greg often stated that Duval founded and led the corp. in the past... See, either he really IS changing stuff, or has got things up his sleeve...

I just want to remind people to not be safe with anything he says, apart from heavy evidence. (OK, guess we can count Broads and Angelas 3 kids in aswell... but as for the rest, keep yr mind open...)

Brook

Yeah, that's true, but we still don't know if, as stated earlier, Broadway/Angela will see Lance hedge.

Somehow, Greg is great in not spilling the beans. He tells us Ophelia comes to the US - and I doubt she'll come to say hi and have a cup of tea. See what I mean?

But OK, Broad and Angela will be around for some time aswell, and so is Lex (he seems to go on an Avalon/Timedancer like journey also, it seems).

I hope Brooklyn and Katana will be fine (although there is nothing mentioned after their return from the Timedancing, except for Tachi and Nashville coexisting with the clan)... :(

And Goliath and Elisa will adopt a kid, but when and who is unclear, but it should bear the last name MAZA.

Brook

>He can't - Greg stated VERY obviously that he's 100% human.

True, but one or more of Derek's descendants could have been purged of the mutate genes.

Yah, you sure are right...

Another thing I'd like to discuss (sheesh, I've got much in my mind now I've read and loved the comics): has anybody figured out some of this yet?

"1998.
August 14th. Vinnie visits family.
1999.
June 25th. Lexington goes into business.
2001.
June 22nd. A crisis brings together representatives of four clans.
2002.
June 28th. Vinnie's quest begins.
2003.
June 27th. Lexington holds a press conference.
2004.
August 6th. Goliath is briefly forced into hiding.
2005.
July 29th. Lexington takes a chance and loses.
2006.
June 23rd. Obsidiana comes to the United States of America.
2007.
March 28th. withheld
June 22nd. Lexington continues his journey. "

March 28th 2007 is - and I am sure of that - the date of a mayor tragic event!! Greg is obviously talking about a lot in there, but is quite clever in not revealing too much. This is the only date he he witholds!! Except for June 22nd 01 (9/11 allusion??), where there is a "big crisis" comming up... Also, 1999 is the date the Lex/Xanatos company is founded, it seems...

Brook

Also - has anybody noticed, that on
31.10.1997, "Xanatos' probation expires"??

This certainly has to do with the currently evolving storyarc (ARGH, YOU BLOODY NON-SPOILING CON ATTENDANTS!! ARGH!!).

And on July 19th, 1997, "Goliath makes a bargain"... HURM...

And I'm convinced now that July 2005 29th entry ("Lexington takes a chance and loses.") has to do with Amp.

Brook

Not all endings have to be big to have impact. Reawakening was written they way it was to give the series closure incase Season 2 wasn't greenlit.
Antiyonder

I pretty much agree with you. Angela hitting Avalon after the tragedy also would make sense in the storyarc.

Has anybody yet thought about how Greg is going to end CB? Hunters moon got the near death of one character, villain turned goodguy being paralyzed and the Clocktower being destroyed... so there HAS to be a big bang, right? RIGHT??

Brook

I have a theory and I'm also not trying to bash everyone's favourite character. This has been in my head a long time.

Hudson - I always think he dies first but now i'm not so sure. I think he will be alive to see the eggs hatch in 2018

Goliath and Elisa - I always think Goliath will kick the bucket (in battle) before Elisa. I think Goliath and Elisa will be still alive to see the eggs hatch in 2018 but I don't think Goliath be alive to see the eggs hatch in 2038 but I think Elisa will.

Broadway and Angela I think Broadway will die before Angela (possibly in battle)and Angela will live a lot longer possibly few years before 2198 because she might visit Avalon. but I think that Broadway won't be alive to see Lance hatch.

Brooklyn and Katana - this is a hard one I don't think they die anytime soon but I think they be still alive up till 2048ish.

Lexington - I think will live a long time but possibly die before Angela

This is just a theory

VickyUK - [Vickyfanofwwe at aol dot com]

Not enough drama...
Greg has omething up his sleeves, I'm sure. SURE; he told us a LOT, but just look at how long he held back that lex was gay... there are surprises commin, and I think with Season 2, we'll get more than we asked for...

OH YEAH, for guys who read the comics: I recommend these video-reviews:

Great!! :D

Brook

Another theory I had for adoption. We know that Obsidiana comes to New York on her own in 2006. The Maya clan has 20-40 children and 4 parents (who don't get enough sleep as it is!). I always thought it would make sense for G+E to adopt maybe a couple of hatchlings from that clan in order to help both clans out.
UncleDeadly

Starlioness> "I wonder what Katana would think of Demona .. hmm.."

On a whim, assuming that something BIG doesn't happen during the Timedancer journey, I think Katana would probably be a little protective of Brooklyn/weary of Demona.

But I'm just grasping at straws.

Brook> Not sure about the cybernetic Lex, though there will be robots based on him. And we're not sure how much of Future Tense will come true. There are suggestions, hints, that some of it will be fulfilled through the clones: what appears to be a possible relationship between Malibu and Delilah, the thought that perhaps Brentwood will overthrow Thailog, etc. But I doubt that Puck truly saw everything that happened in FT; *if* he's got the ability to see the/possible future(s), he probably put in just enough "truth" to be believable and disturbing, and made the rest of it up. His primary concern was getting the Phoenix Gate back, after all, not giving Goliath a true prophecy.

Besides, if everything in FT was found to come about, it'd be boring, even with the possibility that there are two choices of who would be the one to fulfill it (the Manhattan or Labyrinth clan member).

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Litwolf: well, Boudicca is expected to lay eggs in 2008, so Bronx's hatchlings should be hatched in 2018 as well as Artus.. who will Hudson and Goliath's grandson ;)..

hmm.. I'm still wondering if Lex and Amp wil end up together, even through internet.. be cool to find out..

hmm.. I think the Lex and Xanatos partnership would be waaay down the road .. I'm not sure if Greg meant that David Xanatos and Lex would be partners.. or Alex when he gets older..

Brook and Angela.. yeah, the more we will know about Katana the more reason to see she's a better fit.. I wonder what Katana would think of Demona .. hmm..

Bronx and Hudson.. I think Greg said that Gargbeast's can live as long as Gargoyles.. so I can see Bronx outliving Hudson.. and if Old Pog is capable to be a live at 200 years.. then Hudson has a long way to go..

Nick Maza:..yeah, I like the Idea of Natsilane and Beth.. but I'm wondering if Derek's kid didn't have any mutate genes in him.. he just looks 100% human..

Starlioness

Brook> "I wouldn't rule out Fox and Xanatos too... Although there's the Xanatos corporation... I dunno..."

In actuality, I don't see Xanatos or Fox dying all that easily. They're too tough to put down. Goliath himself has even had trouble with Xanatos and has never actually beaten him to even submission.

Plus, if Xanatos died, then there's less chance of the Lexington-Xanatos corporation.

Michael> It's possible, but it would require certain circumstances.

1. Derek fathered a child prior to his mutation
2. The mutation did not affect his and Maggie's gametes (thus leading to a fully human child)

I don't find either of these particularly likely, but they're still within the realm of possibility. I recall a discussion some weeks ago on whether Sevarius' mutational process would affect Talon's sperm and Maggie's eggs, and there were good arguments both ways.

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Don't worry, I guess everybody in here's as much of an adult to see where this goes, and that it's not pointless bashing. :)

Brooklyn is my favourite aswell. THOUGH, with Timedancer, it would seem "logic" for him to die - he's gone through so much... but I hope he won't.

Broadway and Angela are told to have 3 siblings - but who knows? This might change. Greg's the god in their universe, and we've hardly got 1998 anymore, have we?
Personaly, I think with Angela dead, it would make most sense. It would be a HUGHE step forward for the story.

Broadway dead, naw. Blind? Maybe... Remember Future Tense - Brooklyns future self might look close to that of FT from what we know, there will be a Cyber Lex at some point, and Broadway... what has the future left for him? Apart from that we know he and Angela have 3 kids, we know almost nothing. G&E we've talked about, Lex aswell, Brooklyn and Katana are left blank, but I guess this has to do with us not knowing anything of Katana as of yet, and how the two will integrate into the clan (along with Nashville).

I wouldn't rule out Fox and Xanatos too... Although there's the Xanatos corporation... I dunno...

Brook

KingCobra> I can't see Angela or Broadway biting the dust anytime soon, we know that they'll have 3 eggs, which means they last till 2047 at least.

Brook and Katana> That actually does make more sense, but I suspect that they won't have a third egg, do to time travel or something else.

As for Talon and Maggie, that's an interesting idea. As for running the Labyrinth when they're gone...I think Delilah could handle it. She's proven extremely intelligent and capable already. I kinda see her as Talon's second in command.

Brook> "Serendipity and Tragedy... hm hm..."

This, to me, suggests that someone who has/will have an egg will die, (this is not character bashing, so don't flame) and Goliath and Elisa may take that egg under their parentage.

I'd initially believed Hudson would kick it, but Greg's comment that you posted widened the list of suspects for me, to anyone who has/having/will have a hatchling.

In short,

Brooklyn and/or Katana. Brooklyn is too loved a character, and we'd have barely met Katana, so I don't see this happening.

Broadway and/or Angela. I could sort of see this happening. Broadway is the sort to die in battle and it would add extra layers to all the characters, especially Broad, Goliath, and Demona, if Angela kicked it.

Talon/Maggie. It's a possibility, given that they're somewhat minor side-characters and one has to wonder who would run the Labyrinth, I doubt Claw would have an easy time of it, if they bought it. And, after all, who said that the character/characters to die would be, in question, main characters?

Forgive me if I sound like I'm trying to bash anyone's favorite character, because I'm not. I'm simply stating the possible choices as I see them. If any of these were no longer around, I could see G and E making them the promise to take care of their children.

But then all this IS just a theory.

He can't - Greg stated VERY obviously that he's 100% human.

That REALLY is a good find that Vashcoda made there... So we might see a Baby born by the 1999-gargoyles-timeline, that might become a Maza... or IS a Maza... what about Elisa adopting Beth's child?

(and I've not 100% ruled out the opportunity they might have a biological child by magic)

Brook

Could Nick be a descendant of Derek?
Michael Ejercito - [mejercit at hotmail dot com]

Litwolf> Right. That's one of the ones I was looking at, and I do think that they'll adopt at least one child. They may have several options, but I'm of the opinion that that's their best one. I'm just not sure whether Greg will make 2198's Nick have that child be one of his ancestors, or that another of his ancestors is adopted and he's truly blood-related to the Mazas. (or both, though having Beth have a child that marries G&E's adopted kid seems to be stretching it)
Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Kerry > Like you, I did some looking up myself. Apparently, Greg said at a Gathering that Nick Maza of 2198 had an adopted ancestor. Here's the passage:

From Gorebash's posting, Aug 27 2004
"But, more to the point, Vash brings up Nick Maza. Where does he come from? Elisa and Goliath are a couple, and they can't have kids, so who else is there? Beth Maza? I spent the trip up with the notion it could have only been a descendant of Beth Maza. Derek's a mutant. Elisa's parents, we might assume, have no other kids, and we have yet to hear of any cousins to Elisa, Beth & Derek. So I figured it had to be one of the three, and Beth was the only one "available" to have kids. The kink in that idea is that if Beth were to marry, traditionally, she'd take her husband's last name, and so would any kids. So how does Nick get the Maza name?

Then at the blue mug-a-guest, someone had brought up E&G having kids. Vash had brought up in the car that Greg had said (at some point) that E&G would probably adopt a kid, but that the adopt ion, or the relationship, or something relating to that kid would have sadness and serendipity.. or something like that.

Anyways, Greg responds to the E&G kids question by bringing up the adoption angle, and his response seemed pretty cemented in the idea that E&G would definitely adopt. So as I'm sitting at the Saturday mug-a-guest with Greg, I start putting 2 and 2 together. If E&G adopt , what is that kid's last name going to be? Goliath doesn't have one (...well, not in the sense that I'm talking about). Would the kid take Elisa's last name? How would the general public react to news that she and Goliath had adopted a kid? Some sticky points.

What if the kid takes Elisa's last name? Now we've got a way for the Maza name to carry down a few generations to G2198. So I started working out on a way I could ask this to Greg without being direct. It seems that approach sometimes works better at getting an answer out of Greg than just being direct.

Just as I was putting it together, Carol Wagner came over and let me know that the Gargoyles DVD crew were interviewing fans and that I should probably go see those guys within the next half-hour or so.

But before I left, I asked my question. Does G2198's Nick Maza have an ancestor, born around this time (2004 +/- 5 years) who is adopted? Greg thought about it for a moment and said yes. HAH! Vash was there with me and I think we were the only two who realized what Greg had just revealed. With that I stood up and took off to see the DVD crew. Perhaps a bit too dramatically, but I just had my big moment for the day, so I was buzzing."

So that part makes me agree with the poster. That Goliath and Elisa will adopt.

Elisa wants a child, this we know. It was one of the reasons she broke up with Goliath for all of one night. Pretty much, their only option is adopting or getting a sperm donner. I have a feel Goliath isnt very trust worthy of science, like the Ask Greg's FAQ confirms so adoption is their only choice. It feels very likely, in my humble opinion.

Brook> Okay. Sounds like they briefly considered it and trashed the idea. Makes sense. Greg isn't much for the "obvious" answer, usually. LOL

Litwolf> If I remember correctly, there are some answers in the archive that indicate confirmation, and others (I think later ones) that throw some doubt on it.

There being way too many for me to look at here at work in regards to Elisa and Goliath's potential children, I looked up Nick instead. It says Nick Maza is related to the show's Nick/Natsilane, related to the Mazas, and that at least one of his ancestors in our current time period is adopted. Greg's being very secretive about how/when the "original" Nick's bloodline crosses with that of the Maza family.

UncleDeadly > Oops, my mistake. You are correct. Thats weird, I thought it had been confirmed that they adopted. Sorry.
Litwolf at the library

Litwolf - I think it only says he is a descendent of the Maza family. And there are three Maza children, one's even got a kid on the way already (yes, I doubt Talon's kid will lead to lil-Natsilane). It could also be Beth Maza's descendent. I've always felt like Beth and Natsilane could make an interesting pair.
UncleDeadly

Kerry > Are you sure Goliath and Elisa adopting a child isnt confirmed? I thought Greg did confirm that Nick Maza of Gargoyles 2198 was the descendant of the kid they adopted. Thats what GargWiki says and they wouldn't have put it up there Greg had confirmed it, right?
Litwolf at the library

Brook> It's okay. I've said stuff before that I thought sure I'd read in the archive, but got corrected on. At least nobody gets mad when that happens. ^..^

And yeah, the children subject did come up... we'll just have to wait and see for the real discussion (and what comes of it).

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

Ah, here it is:
"But at any rate, I'm not surprised people saw it going that way. Like I've said, it's the obvious choice. We just didn't feel it was the right choice. The characters told us different."
There was something WAY in the beginning, where he told that - before they even wrote her - she was kinda the one that would get mated with Brooklyn. During TURF, they realized it was the other way round.

I seriously have the... slightly subjective feeling that Greg is tired of telling people why that came out, and therefore only reposts that they never were an issue (well - they never were. They were considered to be, but dropped after thinking it over).

I'm somehow happy with that - Brooklyn seems to be quiate a difficult character, and I bet him and Angela wouldn't have worked out and broken up - but I would have loved to see that...
Yet, whilst I know why Gabriel and here weren't and issue aswell, this would have made a quite interresting couple too...
I dunno, the mating-for-life idea is really sweet, but robs a bit of drama of the series... then again, this might spoil the theme and feeling of it... heck, who knows? I would have loved to see Angela and brooklyn together, not getting along, and breaking up, and then her getting together with broadway... would have added quite some darkness...
I like that quote: " Brooklyn 's a leader. And I love the guy, but he confuses a crush with deep abiding love. He needs a little more emotional maturity before he's ready for this "Gargoyles mate for life" thing."

Also nice:
"3. When Gary Sperling and I were working on the episode "Turf" we realized that we needed to know who, if anyone, Angela would wind up with. We talked about it. In some ways, Brooklyn did seem like the obvious choice, but it soon became clear that he was the wrong choice. It had to be Broadway."

Brook

Hurm... thx a lot, but that's weird, since I was so sure I read him stating what I wrote below... Sure, they weren't an "item", but from what I remember, he mentioned that the writers "found this out", rather than it was fact from the beginning...

Anyways, this raised an eyebrow: From the FAQ

"
11. Will Goliath and Elisa ever have children?

Greg's answer:

Eventually, way, way down the line, I see Elisa and Goliath addressing the issue of children. All sorts of options are available, except natural procreation between two widely and wildly divergent species. Elisa could never be pregnant with Goliath's child without assistance from science or magic. I've already stated that I don't see them going that way. But I do see them raising a child together. But not without serendipity (and some tragedy) playing a role. "

Serendipity and Tragedy... hm hm...

I'm amazed at how close to the Halloween-comics the story Greg had in mind played out (see the post about that).

Brook

Oops, sorry. Hit the button by accident. That's just one, but there are others, all in the same vein (some of which he quotes in the answer of that one).

If you go to the archives page and type in both Brooklyn and Angela's names, there are several of them on the first results page.

Hm... I dunno where, but Greg has clearly pointed out, that the decision that Broadway and Angela came together did settle while they wrote the first Manhatten-EPs with her as a new clan member. Before that, sh was brought in to be together with Brooklyn. I'd love to look this up, but time and sanity keep me from it. ;) This could take WEEKS considering the archives.

The only ones who ain't got no future the certainly know of are Brooklyn, Goliath and Hudson. Brooklyn is going to Timedance, but after that, it's VERY unclear what comes after. (he's my favoruite, so fingers crossed he's not even near)
Goliath... I guess so too. Goliath is just... not the kind of person to die in a bed. I personally think that the storyline of GARGOYLES (as we know it, centered on the Manhattan Clan) will end with his (surprising) death. I also think this is why Greg is so tightly shut about his and Elisas future...
Hudson I reckon will be around much longer than we all might figure... or not, and he'll leave sooner as we all figure. He's a great charakter, but somehow I feel as if his story is told already - or probably we'll get another storyline with him... there's really no side character in the Manhattan Clan after all...

Somehow it's a shame we've got the whole 2193 storyline... we know a bit too much for my liking... then again, who knows what Greg has changed from what he told us ages ago...

Brook

Brook> I thought that Greg said somewhere in the archives that he never had Brooklyn and Angela together, and was confused by everyone's preference for that pairing.

Brooklyn did not see Angela as an individual: he was (as he had before and did again in the comics) just chasing tail. Going after whoever was available due only to that availability, not common interests, shared respect, or anything else solid to build a good relationship on. Broadway saw who Angela was, liked her as a person, not just as the only female he'd seen since the dark ages. She saw in Broadway someone caring and dependable, and maybe there were stronger scent cues in that direction as well.

It may sound trivial to humans to have smell be so important, but it's possible that gargoyles are more attracted to the scents of potential mates that are more genetically dissimilar/compatible/complementary/etc. We already know that scent is what tells a gargoyle, on a subconscious level, that a cousin (or, for a previous/next generation, sibling) is too close a relative to mate with; having an attraction for very genetically different individuals would seem to follow. Now, I'm not saying that Brooklyn is in any way closely related to Angela, just that their genes may not be as different as Broadway's are from Angela's.

As far as the first of the Manhattan clan to die... It's hard to tell. Naturally, it's easy to assume that Hudson, as eldest, would be. I think that Greg has predicted a violent and premature death for Goliath, but I'm not sure, and there's no knowing how far into the future that is. Realistically, there are too many possibilities from a storytelling point of view for me to begin to make a serious choice, especially since there's so much more that could happen while the entire clan is still living.

Litwolf> Jury's still out on Goliath and Elisa adopting a child. It's a possibility, and one that I think is likely (and would be neat), but Greg's shying away from confirming or denying.

Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth-dragon at hotmail dot com]

No, we're not gonna lose anyone in the comic books. Everyone still has a future, according to Greg. Brook's gonna TimeDance, Broad and Angela are gonna have three kids, Lex is gonna enter into a business with Xanatos, and Goliath and Elisa are gonna adopt a kid together. The only one's who don't have a future are Bronx and Hudson (and what I mean by that is that I don't think Greg has anything written down for them on his All-Knowing Timeline) but I still don't think he would kill them. Its too early in the comics for anyone to die. I don't think Greg would do something that drastic with the comics, who had a very shaky future from the very first issue.
Litwolf (still using a libray computer)

Hm - you really think so?

I mean, if I'd be Greg - a lot of things that are regarded as CANON, would allready have changed in my book...

I don't think it'll happen during CB, but in the, uh, "next season", probably...

Just as a question - what do you guys think who's the first to go?

Brook

Brook> I don't think Greg has any plans to kill anyone off anytime soon. It's only 1996/1997 in the Gargoyles Universe. If and when we reach present time, then I'll begin to worry with you, Brook.
The Gargoyles Pulse
~ Anthony Tini

Oh - as for their personalities: I thought that they really were closr than Broad and Angela. Sure, Broad is likeable, but from the viewpoint of Angelas charakter, I would hardly say loveable.

The whole Demona thing would have made it more interresting for me. With one of the two ating her, the other trying to bring her "good side" back. I dunno, I just would have loved to see two characters like them together, Angela with her naivity and Brooklyn with his sarcasm and cynicism, Would have it made a bit more difficulty and interresting than just the two more naive characters of the clan getting together and "fine's it". Still - I dunno what Greg has in mind with them (and with Lex turning into a cyborg-thingy and Brooklyn Timedancing and being permanently injured during this, I'm sure there are big things commin up.)... If the comics did show us something, then it is that Greg himself also matured in his way of telling a story and developing the characters (Goliath/Elisa quite have some kickass moments).

For example - I've never considered that one of the two - Broadway or Angela - might be one of those I considered to die in the near future, with their kids and stuff. Yet, what do we know in what ways Greg will twist the storyline? Remember how he told us that Angela was destined to become Brooklyns mate, up until that point where they wrote the script for her - and figured she wasn't. There might be some surprises ahead...

Brook

*yawn* hi all,
"As for Angela and Brooklyn, yeah, I used to be in the same boat as you...but look at their personalities, I mean, Brooklyn HATES Demona, whereas Angela hopes to redeem her mother. That alone is a huge stumbling block for them. I know a lot of people wanted Brook and Angela to get together at the time, but I think it's only because she was the only available female around you know? I feel certain that Katana is a much better fit (Even though we haven't seen her yet) and now we've got even more female characters to love, like Coco."

Hm... I sort of disagree... I dunno, I think Greg stretched it a bit here. I can see why he brought her and Broad together, but... Broadway has allways been protrayed as adifferent kind of character. When Angela came in, that changed, sure - still, he's my least favourite of the lads, allways was. I cannot say why, but I think it has to do a lot with him being so out-of-place at times.
I love how Brooklyn has to cope with the situation though... poor teen... *chuckles*

As for the Trio: Let's take a look at it - Brooklyn will be around 40 in a few weeks, Lex is getting more and more entangled with technology (has anybody else got the impression AMP might be a red herring? Somebody to break Lex heart, yet who helps him to figure out his sexuality?) and Broad and Angela seem to be quite... busy with themselves ("OH, we stay in NY too!! :D").
This is what I actually like (besides a bit of a lot Gargs are introdced with the London one) - seeing the guys grow out of the clan structure, and becomming individuals.

Another thing I'd like to start: Has ANYBODY here considered the thought that we might "loose" one of the main protagonists by the end of this "season"?

I mean - I often tried to get something out of Greg bout this, but he never properly responded. To me, it was obvious that sooner or later, one of the clan would have to have his last breath. It came damn close with HUNTERS MOON (and damn, killing off Angela would have been SUCH a challenging and brave thing to do), and with a lot of new characters getting introduced... what do you think?

Brook

*rubs eyes* New week already? *yawns* Oh yeah, cuz my classes start today *groans*

*hates using the library's computers just because own Net is messed up*

So... do we have a date for when Gargoyles #9 comes out? I really want to see how all this stuff in London is gonna be wrapped up.
