Will Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Gargoyles Season Three be retail? Thanks.

Thanks for the information about the big day about calling Walt Disney Home Entertainment about requesting Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Season Three on DVD and sorry about that when i copied and paste of what you wrote.
Jonny Modlin - [jmodlin210@gmail.com]

Yeah, I did... I wrote that on Facebook and was going to post it here after the room reset. You copy and pasted what I wrote. Don't ever do that again. You are specifically denied permission to copy and paste anything I write. Ever.

Here's the problem with most fanfic writers: they seem to think Dominique is a second life. It isn't. Demona spelled it plainly in "High Noon." She's a gargoyle. Dominique is just a tool to help her in her goals. She'll use the form because she changes into a human, whether she likes it or not, but Dominique is not another life for her.

How many people would call Walt Disney Home Entertainment to request Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Gargoyles Season Three on DVD for tomorrow and for this week? Will Gargoyles Season Two, Volume Two and Gargoyles Season Three be retail?

Tomorrow everybody please take a few minutes to call Walt Disney Home Entertainment at 800-723-4763, navigate through the menu (it's easy) and request Gargoyles: Season Two, Volume Two and Gargoyles Season Three on DVD. Right now the plans are still tentative, let's see if we can help make those plans definite. Don't worry about annoying them, the requests do get kicked upstairs, and if we get their attention, if we let them know that we are out there and we are interested, it's more incentive to release them. Remember, we want to give them our money. Money talks. It's toll free, and will only cost you a few minutes of your time. If you can't do it tomorrow, do it sometime this week, but please do it and get all of your friends to do the same thing.

On another note, I am so happy Elisa Maza wasn't created by Marvel or DC. Did you hear about new Arab American Green Lantern?

http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/295101_10151223800333615_715830955_n.jpg

If they wanted to be original maybe they shouldn't have had this new Arab-American GL origin be that he lost his job so he steals cars, then one van he tries to steal has a bomb in it so he drives it into his former place of business where it blows up, then he's falsely charged with terrorism and sent to Gitmo where Hal's broken ring finds him.

WTF DC?

I admit, I've never been much of a DC guy. But I have a lot of friends who are, and not a week goes by where DC doesn't seem to alienate them further with misogynism or outright racism.

Let's introduce this new character, her name is Elisa Maza. Her father is a Hopi Native American and her mother is of Nigerian descent. When we first meet her, she can be stealing car stereos to support her kid (she's a single mom who doesn't know who the baby's daddy is) while living off welfare and picking up garbage off the side of the road and making holistic medicines that are better than anything actual doctors can come up with.

If Marvel or DC created Elisa, that's exactly what she would be.

If I may, I have a suggestion. Greg B wants us all to call disney and request that season 2, volume 2 be released. I am all for that. I am in. But does anyone know if we could send out a mass email to everyone who is a member of the facebook group "Make a real Gargoyles movie disney"? Just us on this comment room probably will not make a difference, but almost 1600 people in the group would. And I don't know if Greg B's post on the group will help as well because not everyone keeps up with facebook. So if anyone knows how, I think sending out an email to all of these people to let them know what is going to happen, I think that would help.

TVShowsonDVD.com mentioned that Shout was turned down by Disney when the former tried to get the rights to Power Rangers. Only when the rights were brought back by Saban were Shout able to acquire the DVD rights (aswell as a few other shows too). Unfortunately Disney will always own the rights (I can say that can't I?) to Gargoyles so for the forseeable future this can never happen.

Antiyonder> They were also rather pointless aswell. I assume that the point was they were trying to make the audience think a lesson had to be learned by the end which may have made more sense if an end narration would have been done. Corny yes, but so were the opening ones.

They also had to put more, but unnecessary focus on Goliath; he was already the majority of the focus among his clan as it was, but to make appear as if it was all about him is nonsense. It also means that he has to be in EVERY episode, whereas in the previous season he was actually absent in a couple of episodes. You can't do that in show that has the main character's name in it. It would be like having "Superman" with no Superman. It was a show about Gargoyles, not soley about Goliath, but that's what the title of the show conveys.

Green Lantern's Nightlight

(I knew I'd make a typo.)

I meant to say "Disney have already done this with Lionsgate with a lot of their early 00s ABC sitcoms."

Green Lantern's Nightlight

(This is going to look obviously long, but I had a lot to cover.)

Disney (may or may not) see the most obvious alternative: Manufacture-on-Demand. I mean it's really a no-brainer that a few studios (or whatever you want to call them) are taking so fans are able to get what they like on DVD. Yes, Disney has basically done this with their Point Awards system which made available the Christmas specials of both Goof Troop & Darkwing Duck, DuckTales the Movie, aswell as the first two seasons of Kim Possible at Amazon (you can get all of them on Amazon now either way). But not to the extent of Warner and Shout!, with the former (and possibly both) later being all done through Amazon which is what most companies do in the first place like Sony and Nickelodeon; the latter eventually made a deal with Shout! to release most of them officially.

And that comes to my next point: Getting another studio to release Gargoyles on DVD (and potentially other catoons aswell). have already done this with Lionsgate with a lot of their early oos sitcoms, including BOY MEETS WORLD, which some of you may or may not know that it was halted after 3 seasons because of low sales and VERY, VERY little chance of ever being continued, but then not only released those first 3, but the following 4 aswell. It must say something about the partnership? All 7 seasons and Gargoyles only has 2 more to go.

Why not the kings of cult classics Shout!. They've released shows that probably would've never seen the light of day, but they made it happen.

I'm just saying that Disney DOES INDEED HAVE OTHER OPTIONS.

What do you guys think?

Green Lantern's Nightlight

Green Lantern's Nightlight> Not to mention that the narrations don't make much sense. Ransom for instance, has Goliath talking about how far some people will go in an unethical manner to acquire money, yet the kidnapping in the episode has nothing to do with money.
Antiyonder

After watching a few episodes (I don't know how many exactly) of The Goliath Chronicles it sounded more like The Goliath Philosophies with Goliath's opening narration at the beginning of every episode.

I don't think we would be annoying or harassing them, since most of the people who would be calling are not Johnny Modlin. Meaning the call will take less than a minute: you say you're a fan of Gargoyles, you tell them you own the DVD, you ask about Season Two Volume Two. Done.

If anything, it helps to show them that there's potential for it. And I've always felt that analog communication will always be more important than digital. What day were we thinking?

Harvester of Eyes - [Minstrel75@gmail.com]
"I could bore you with a philsophical tirade about freedom and tyranny, or try and explain to you what new horizons are suddenly open to me, but I doubt you would understand and if you did it might frighten you. That amuses me." -Durandal

The problem there is it's much harder to organize and, I think, way too many people will just assume someone else will do it on a particular day. Obviously we run into the same problem with the single day also, most likely some or many will skip out and assume someone else will do it.

But, I think a single day operation is easier to organize.

Your response seems more aimed at Todd than me, I think. I don't disagree with you for the most part. I just think that a one day thing, even if it is massive, is easily brushed off. The Disney people might get annoyed or get a laugh out of it for a day, but by the end of the week it is just something that happened. However, a call or two every day sends a much stronger message. It is less annoying and more strongly shows that we are committed so they should be as well.

Think about the Andy character in "Shawshank Redemption". If he had sent 1000 letters to the state government all in one day, they would've been quickly trashed and most never read. The goverment would've likely forgotten all about the incident in a relatively short period. But instead he wrote them one letter every week for years and got what he wanted. They couldn't ignore him forever... but they could've ignored him for one day.
So, lets skip the annoying them idea and just focus on the getting their attention part.

"Thats three down and two to go..." -Sevarius, "The Reckoning"

MATT> This is different. Jonny Modlin was preaching to the choir. Hell he was doing more than preaching to the choir, he was preaching to the damn Bible. Will it annoy Disney? Maybe a little... but it could also very well get their attention. And ultimately, that is exactly what we need to do. Get their attention.

Plus, as Chip said on Facebook, they're ok with phone calls. The system is set up that way. A series of phone calls on the same day, for the same product could send a message.

Greg Bishansky - [<--- Greg's Blog of Clue-by-Fours]

Pestering Disney with phone calls about Gargoyles Season Two Volume One feels too reminiscent of Jonny Modlin's behavior for my liking.
Todd Jensen
Hufflepuffs are great finders

Are we sure that is a good idea? We don't want to annoy them.

Perhaps what we should do is organize it such that only or two of us calls EVERY day. An annoying bunch of calls on one day will be easily dismissed and forgotten eventually, but a kind call or two every day from various people could potentially do much, much more.

Matt - [Saint Louis, Missouri, USA]
"Thats three down and two to go..." -Sevarius, "The Reckoning"

So, I'm thinking who is up for a special day where we all call Disney and request Season Two, Volume Two on DVD. Just flood them with phone calls. It's a toll free number, it will only take maybe five minutes of your day. But, I'm thinking Monday. I'll post the number for Walt Disney Home Entertainment again on Sunday night.

Adam: at first, 4 pairs sounded too small, but playing around with some best case scenario numbers, it seems like a full beast clan could be achieved in a few generations. My other concern was the possiblity of inbreeding but it looks like there are enough combinations to keep direct inbreeding low.

So I had a fun little Gargoyles moment today. My library sells donated VHSs at $.50 a pop and as I was browsing I spotted a Gargoyles tape with two episodes. It was labeled "Temptation" and had the first Pack ep as well. I didn't pick it up because I have the season one DVDs and neither ep is an especial favorite of mine but it was cool to see. Adam> The Illuminati is backing the Quarrymen, so I think it's safe to say that they already have plans to open chapters in London, Japan, and anywhere else that a gargoyle clan pops up.
Chip - [Sir_Griff723@yahoo.com]
The premise of your question is flawed. You were never human. But you WERE heroes.~~Red Tornado

So can anyone please tell me what Greg's designs are for the Quarrymen. When we see them in the comics, they pass out hoods and hammers at what looks like a recrutement meeting. They are then seen going around the city destroying statues, and after discovering Goliath is real, open fire on him in downtown. Castaway also has intentions on killing Elisa. The next few times we see Castaway or the Quarrymen they are acting in a much more tactical way, making statements without violence. So it gets me wondering if the Quarrymen on go shooting things up when there is a change to kill a gargoyle and the rest of the time they act like a support/political group for concerned citizens. But on the other hand, they hand out hoods and hammers at meetings, not the thing a support group would normally be doing. One last thing, do you think other Quarrmen-like groups will spring up in other locations where other clans are discovered?
