It may not be OUR favorite thing -but season 3 of Gargoyles IS part of Disney's franchise. If they were to release it - our failure to support it would doom any chance of them doing anything else with the franchise. Just food for thought.

The only Season 3 I'd buy would be the comics uploaded to DVD format, complete with the voice actors reprising their roles. Similar to how Buffy Season 8 on DVD was done.

Well, what I meant (more accurately, what the defenders of "The Goliath Chronicles" whose viewpoint I was summing up) meant was that the Quarrymen weren't super-powered beings (whether from a fantasy or sci-fi perspective) - unless you count their high-tech hammers - but just a group of ordinary flesh-and-blood humans who hated gargoyles. But, yes, their tactics were definitely over-the-top.

Todd> I love how you describe baddies who fire anti-aircraft weapons in cities and blow up railroad bridges as "down to earth". Ha!
Rebel> I feel the same way. I have no interest in the content of TGC, but I'd be tempted to buy it for the same reason I'd be tempted to buy anything Gargoyles related that was released. About a decade ago, the Disney Store released some Gargoyles pins, I think, I bought one and have never done anything with it, but I'm glad I bought one anyway. It's about the message: Hello. A fandom still exists and they are willing to sink money into this property.

I don't feel keen on buying a DVD of "The Goliath Chronicles" either. And given how unpopular it is with the fans, I'd be surprised if Disney would even bother coming out with one, unless it really didn't know what the viewers thought of it (which *is* possible).
Of course, there were a few people who liked and defended it (largely, I get the impression, because it pitted the gargoyles against more down-to-earth adversaries - though also poorly-characterized adversaries).

Dangit I can't decide if I'd buy it or not.
On the one hand I'd want to send Disney a message that I want more Gargoyles and am willing to pay for it.
On the other hand I don't want to send Disney a message that says I'm willing to pay for CRAPPY Gargoyles.

Harlan> What Niell said. Because it is a continuation of the seriers, and you couldn't bcall it a "Complete Series" without it.
And yes, I've seen disney include comic books with their own releases, but seeing how they treat their properties, I know they wouldn't do this for Gargoyles.

HARLAN> I used to think that if S2V2 ever came out, digital versions of the comics would make for a neat bonus feature. I know Sony did that with the Rami Spider-movies back in the day.

As much as I want there to be some exciting surprise reason for the YouTube takedown, I worry we're all overthinking this and really it's just that some lawyer or marketing person said, "What do you mean we've posted the entire series for free?" Here's hoping I'm wrong...

>Why would any company do that in general?<
Special Limited Editions? There are dozens of them and the bonus content varies extremely. Soundtrack CDs (would be nice to have for Gargoyles), posters, figurines, autograph cards, comics... You know it would make sense considering Clan Building is not that long and it's a continuation of the series...
Imagine a 20th Anniversary Gargoyles Collection:
-5 DVD Cases for S1, S2V1, S2V2, TGC and additional bonus content and soundtrack CD encased in a metallic (looking) box
-New bonus content for S2V2 like commentary and episode introductions
-Video comparison of The Journey from CB and TGC, interviews with the cast and producers on the additional bonus DVD
-Clan Building 1 and 2 wrapped around the box, so that you could throw the TGC DVD case into the trash and fill the space left in the box with CB
-First 100 customers get a glass of Jalapeño for free (not kidding, special editions with actual food as bonus do exist)

It would be nive if Disney were to release a complete series... but of course it wouldn't be complete without the Comics. And Disney would have no such imagination or ambition to include the comics in with a DVD box set. :/
This is curious as to why they would take the eps off you Tube they really must be up to something.

How you know this:
Kaylle> I'll assume the best possible reason - given the unexpected popularity of the streams, the sales of the S2V2 DVD, advance ticket sales to the D23 Fanniversary appearances involving Gargoyles, and of course, CONvergence and other fan gatherings in honor of the anniversary...
Any Sources?
Also, are there any material (Youtube, blogs etc...) about these latest Gargoyles events? Was anybody from this forum there?
It is interesting that they have taken free episodes off from youtube. Maybe they are going to release them in Netflix.
