Funny; I was thinking more along the lines of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. At least it shares a character with Gargoyles.

Personally I like the one with the four Yorkshire gargoyles talking about how miserable their childhoods were.

BRAINIAC - About what? A young gargoyle telling his clan he doesn't want to glide around the city at night and fight crime; he wants to be a lumberjack? Castaway bursting in with his followers, crying "No one expects the Quarrymen!" and starting to list the qualities of the Quarrymen, which keep on growing and forcing him to restate how many they have? Or maybe -

*a British army officer runs in and shouts "Stop the list! It started off funny, but now it's just become ridiculous!" *

I suddenly feel the need for a Monty Python sketch...

It wasn't necessary, but was very much a pleasant surprise. I'll keep them with my autographed copy of the "Trent" ashcan-it'll be nice to have my two favorite writers's signatures next to each other (though you and Dino Stamatopoulos is a bizarre juxtaposition if there ever was one).

I thank you for the kindness involved and presenting the contest opportunity at all. Looking forward to Masque of Bones and wishing you continued look on all of your projects and endeavors, Rebels and beyond. I'm looking forward to any and all of them.

You should've warned us, Raven. Reading isn't just fundamental. It's dangerous.

<phew> Glad to here you received it. Glad you liked it. I threw Spirits in there too, to try to make up for it taking so long.

Just checking in to say I've indeed received my Rain package. It's very lovely and makes Nick's decision to pass on Rain all the more ludicrous. Thank you very much!

Minor matter, but: King Arthur is British, not English. The English were the Angles and Saxons who were invading Britain during his reign and whom he fought against, and who took over much of the island to rename it "England" after he was taken away to Avalon.

@Phonicianah"I forgot about that nugget. Makes me all the more curious to know how Macbeth in 2014 would react to a peaceful referendum vote compared to his Stone-of-Scone-stealing days. ;)"
I think that Macbeth has mellowed in many ways with his years. (at least in comparison to his fated counterpart, who recovered youthfulness in more ways than one, which is kind of funny considering she is far older) I asked another question in ask greg under a diff name (the last time I asked a question b/c it took two years to be answered but there ya go) about him (Macbeth) and Greg said that for example MacBeth, as a sometimes stage actor, loved to perform G B. Shaw plays. Dude, Shaw was a straight up socialist. How does one go from Monarch to Socialist? It waw VERY interesting...but I question what GregW meant. He mentioned also that "Dominique Destine "meant" "Destiny to Dominate"" and that's not at ALL what Dominique means, and anyone with minor history/linguistics/religion/region understanding (let alone what learning Demona must have had, if ONLY by association let alone minor study) French or Latin (history OR language) ((although it is interesting she immediately chose a male name, probs smart of her)) would know that off the bat. So who knows anyway, what anyone thinks?? B/c that was a WEIRD pronouncement. And made no sense in any context other than her wanting a guy name and liking how it may sounded to ignorant english only speakers.) But I digressed on her chosen "public/human" name aside and yeah, I am willing to think 1) Macbeth has mellowed in MANY matters and 2) STILL A KING, Macbeth wants what is best for HIS people,, even if that means allying with England. And he apparently gets on with English now, with Shakespeare, & King Arthur, so there you go. I think "Don't call me Yankee" Hudson would have the strongest opinion.. Would like to see some real downeaster/Mainer get its way on the show/comic coming up sometime lol/. Oh well.

Well another birthday has come and gone, and while I still feel old I'm happy to say I don't feel any older.

FTBM -- ah yes, I forgot about that nugget. Makes me all the more curious to know how Macbeth in 2014 would react to a peaceful referendum vote compared to his Stone-of-Scone-stealing days. ;)

Matt -- Indeed, and now I'm searching through the archives and GargWiki checking on the Canmore siblings' nationalities (found nothing specific so far) d:

It does raise the question if Macbeth is still a Scottish citizen. I would assume so, but he does seem to spend a lot of time in New York. And has homes in London and Paris at least.

I wonder how Goliath and his clan would respond to that bit of news. Of course, they see Manhattan as their home by now, but Scotland is still the "old country" for most of them (except Angela, Katana, and Nashville).

For Demona as well, but I doubt she's the least bit interested.

@Phoenician: "I guess there's little doubt on how Macbeth would vote" Well......http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=11896
I haven't been following all this too closely, but I did read some concerns by those against Scottish independence that it would not be in the best economic/security interests of Scotland to separate, so there's that.

FTBM

Pheon> Until recently, it appeared a safe bet that Scotland would stay part of the UK, but the gap is getting very narrow now. It could go either way.

Todd -- Speaking of the Stone being returned to Scotland in 1996, you reminded me of some upcoming bit of real-life related Gargoyles news d:

Next week (on the 18th, if I'm not mistaken), Scotland's voting on whether or not it should be an independent country.

No idea how that vote will turn out (any of our fans here from overseas who got a better grasp on this?), but I guess there's little doubt on how Macbeth would vote d:

EIGHTH!

And now, as promised last week...I have completed my review of SPIRITS OF ASH AND FOAM, and uploaded it to both Ask Greg and Amazon.

Apologies for this taking so long, but as with my CONvergence report, I hope the depth I went into makes up for it (and definitely hope it inspires a few more sales).

In any event, looking forward to hearing the Wise Man's feedback once it reaches him!

Third.

Last evening, PBS aired a program called "Secrets of Westminster" about Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. Among other things, it discussed the Stone of Destiny, telling the story of how Edward I seized it from the Scots and placed it in his Coronation Chair (specially built to hold it), of the 1950 theft (they even interviewed one of the guys who took it from the Abbey), and the return of the Stone to Scotland in 1996. They also talked for a bit about the Victoria Tower at the other end of the Houses of Parliament from the Elizabeth Tower (the clock tower that holds Big Ben), where the gargoyles perched during their stake-out and had their run-in with Coldsteel and Coyote 5.0 (it holds the archives of past Acts of Parliament - one that they pointed out specifically was the infamous 1765 Stamp Act).
