Hope everyone had a great Halloween, at my house it got dark at 5:30ish around 6:20 2 kids showed up, one w/ a pig mask on nother in a clown mask, why dont kids dress up anymore :(.So I went to my parents house were I almost ran over 500 kids, she bought 100 hug juices, by the time I got there she had 4 left , but she also had candy. The cutties outfit I saw was a little girl dressed up as Boo from Monsters Inc. the head was even to heavy for her and it kept falling like it did in the movie. Me I was a devil, sorc, dark angle type thing, I had horns that took me an hour to put on and hurt like hell peeling off, vamp teeth, and a staff that my boyfirend broke and taped it back together(the bum), I'll have some pics when I fix my site and put it back up. Well I got 2 boxes of blow pops left, 1 box of animals crackers, and a few bags of mixed candy, since no one showed up at my house, even though I left 2 bowls of candy out. Once again I hope you all had a good Halloween !

Happy Halloween, everyone! ^^

I got to go Trick or Treating this year! ^^ I'm very excited about that, considering Mom didn't let me last year, or the year before. :) I went as a goth. Although I only got about a fifth of a pillowcase full of candy--apartment-goers are not infamous for their candy-giving.

Oh, no! No one put up the decorations!

*Bud-Clare snaps her fingers, and nifty decorations appear on the walls, black and orange streamers are strung back and forth across the ceiling, a skeleton holding a drink and wearing a party hat appears in one of the comfy chairs, and all sorts of yummy treats appear on the buffet table. There's popcorn balls, candy and caramel apples, cider, pizza, a cake shaped like a tombstone, and, of course, candy. Lots of candy. Candy as far as the eye can see. The skeleton suddenly springs to life, his fleshless jaw moving as he says, "I'm getting sick just looking at all that candy."*

*Bud-Clare surveys the room. "Crap, I forgot." She snaps her fingers again, and spooky music fills the room from an unseen source. Smiling with satisfaction, she grabs a slice of pizza, and takes a seat next to the skeleton. "So, come here often?"*

BLAISE - You wrote: [On the other hand, if they left in the part where Broadway looks at the blood on his hands, than they're worthy of that much more credit.]

They left in Broadway looking at the blood on his hands and they left the blood on his hands although it was a bit obscured by the Marathon Logo which took up a good chunk of the screen at that specific moment. But they left that in.

You wrote: [What about the scene where Broadway picks up Elisa's limp form--one could briefly see the blood pool there.]

There it seems like there is a split second cut to keep any sign of blood out. The TOON DISNEY version doesn't show any blood at all in the shooting scene. The only time blood shows up is when Broadway dumps her at the hospital and then takes a look at his hands.

You wrote: [Regardless, it's great that somebody at TD realized that they didn't have to delete the whole darn episode.]

All things considered, they basically left the episode largely intact. I'm even a bit suprised that they didn't digitally erase the blood from Broadway's hands; they seem to have left it in to help keep the impact that is lost by what they did edit out. I do hope that they keep the episode in the regular rotation but does anyone know if they are going to do so for sure or if this was just a one time thing? (I'd bet that they will probably leave it in now that they have shown it and have an edited version of it but you never know.)

Man, seems like forever since I've done anything related to Gargoyles... Hi to anyone who remembers me from way back when. :)

As I've become fairly good at digital media, I'm wondering if anyone's tried to make any digital versions? (As in, on computer, not tape). If someone has access to the master (or higher gen copies) and can transfer it to digital, it would be really sweet for anyone trying to get good copies (or maintain episodes without quality degradation).

Just a thought. :)

Well, I managed to call that one. On the other hand, if they left in the part where Broadway looks at the blood on his hands, than they're worthy of that much more credit. What about the scene where Broadway picks up Elisa's limp form--one could briefly see the blood pool there.
Regardless, it's great that somebody at TD realized that they didn't have to delete the whole darn episode. I just wish I could watch the marathon (logo and all).

That...was pretty much it. Maybe I'll have more to say later. Until then, farewell. ****Blaise begins sucking in air through his mouth, and manages to suck in his entire head until it implodes into nothingness.****

Hi people. I hope it's okay to mention this here, but if anyone is interested, the new fan project "Gargoyles: New Legends" will premiere very soon.

It not affliated with TGS, but it is a separate fan produced continuation of GARGOYLES, and will run in monthly episodes that are part of an ongoing story arc. It's written for a mature audience, so the S&P will be set for mature teen and adult readers. New Legends is a virtual "third season" taking place after the events of Hunters Moon.

We have some outstanding writing talents working on this project. Kimberly Towle, Ellen Stolfa, Allaine... just to name a few... And I think we've got a really bang up opening episode, and a story arc that will go in some very exciting directions.

Just thought I'd drop a word on this so people will know that New Legends is just around the corner.

Thanks for your time =)

Ok I'm not sure if anyone else got Deadly force , but I sure as hell didnt see it, and they also didn't show Enter MacBeth, and i forget the episode where thier all on the oil boat and Mr X. is the robot where Goliath steps on his head, they took somepart out there, it shows G jumping in there air with his big foot in view , then next thing ya know everyone is just stairing, so you know something was cut out. Was that just my T.V. that felt like it needed it cut them 2 shows and that part out, or was it not shown?!?

And yeah whats the big idea putting that big Gargoyles Halloween Marathon on the way, I've been trying to tape the season of garg 2, for god knows how long, but everytime it gets messed up, so of course i get all happy when the marathon starts buttt nooooooooo they had to mess it up !!. Guess I'll have to just put tapes in and get whatever i can and fix it all later.

Question concerning character sheets.

Hey everyone, someone asked for help earlier in MGC about drawing Brooklyn's nose, I have a photocopy of brooklyn's character sheets from the show, but I didn't want to scan it (or display it) without making sure I wasn't breaking a copyright code in displaying it.

While I wasn't suprised that they did some editing to DEADLY FORCE, they actually left almost all of the episode intact. They only real edit was from the point where Broadway discovered that he shot Elisa - instead of showing the original wide shot of her lying in a pool of her own blood, they go to a closeup of her face instead.

The rest of the episode was untouched. They left in the part where Broadway looks at his hands covered in her blood and it did appear that they left the blood in. It was a little difficult to make out completely since the Half Screen Logo was up at just that moment.

:: pops in ::

The episodes airing the Halloween Marathon have been editted for content. The first edit I noticed was part of the line Hyena delivers in "Her Brother's Keeper" when she pulled out her knife in the Diamond Exchange was cut. And "Deadly Force" had obvious edits. No blood was shown at all. All we got was Broadway looking shocked and then a closeup on Elisa's face.

Still, it's nice that they're airing the Halloween Marathon and promoting the show. It can only help to build the fanbase when people tuning in earlier in the evening to watch Bonkers or Alladin stumble upon it. After all, I discovered "Gargoyles" on the Disney Afternoon quite by accident, too, way back when.

Ah yes, the good old days of afternoon TV, back before the turn of the century. And now I feel old. :P

Yeah, turns out SP or whatnot was the problem . . . *nodnod*

However, I've decided I'm going to wait until the rotation starts up again and tape it that way; there's a whole lot less that can go wrong then . . .

I certainly hope Deadly Force becomes part of the rotation. ^^ And I agree, it's definately great that Toon Disney's setting aside four days of programming . . . definately great . . .

I was just in a few sour grapes 'cause I thought that I didn't have enough tape or whatnot. ^^; Or something.

Mwehehe . . . 'tis a sign of good things, this is, I'll agree . . .

LEO - You wrote: [Of course Toon Disney had to ruin it for anyone trying to make good tapes by flashing their big ass "Gargoyles Marathon" logo that takes up the bottom third of the screen.]

That logo is a bit distracting; and it does show up twice in each episode. I guess they are trying to prevent anyone from just recording the entire series out and then bootlegging it. Or to put an optimistic face on it, they might be planning to release the entire series and this is just a way to make sure that the audience doesn't already have a perfect recorded copy on tape. :-)

IRC GOLIATH - You wrote: [we really shouldn't complain too much. Granted I've never been a fan of the rating and station transparencies, so I totally sympathize.]

I'm not complaining; I'm deeply appreciative of them putting the series out in order AND with DEADLY FORCE. I'm glad that they were willing to set aside 4 days for the series, produce some pretty good commecials for it and to show it in order (almost completely). They win alot of points with me for all that.

But you have to admit that the half screen logo is a bit annoying. :-) :-)

You wrote: [But Disney is giving this to us (I like to think they are, given their recent involvement in the cons and the announcement of the DVD release) so we really shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.]

I'd like to think that they are trying to test the waters and working their way to a series revival or at the very least a spin-off or two getting done. They seem to have slowly discovered that there is a fandom and I think they are trying to see if there are ratings to go together with that.

You wrote: [All the episodes, in order (with one exception), and uncut (from what I've heard).]

The episodes are edited. They are showing the episodes as they usually show them. The only difference is at all is that they are going to show DEADLY FORCE.

I'm really just waiting to see DEADLY FORCE. I'm curious if they are going to make any edits to it or not. If they do then I guess I'll have to update my Edits List. (I figure that the pool of blood is going to get some edit although they may suprise me.)

I wonder though - Are they going to continue showing DEADLY FORCE in the TOON DISNEY GARGOYLES rotation after this marathon or is it being on just a one time thing?

I am wondering why they have finally decided to show the episode. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they are doing it, but I am wondering if there was a shakeup at TOON DISNEY or if they just decided to loosen up the S&P the channel adheres to at least in its late night timeslot where GARGOYLES normally plays and where they are going to show DEADLY FORCE tonight. Could they be trying to see if they could put something that could compete with CN in that timeslot?

This does get me curious about ratings - does anyone know what the rating are for the series in its usual run and can anyone find out what the rating are for this marathon once it finishes up? If they are extremely promising then TOON DISNEY might keep that in mind when they finally make the move to putting original programming on instead of just running endless reruns. (Its got to happen one of these days.)

Hi :)

So yeah, the logos are annoying but I can't think of any reason they'd want to prevent people from taping it that much if they didn't have plans for the whole series. Like oh... say... a DVD release? :) *watches wolf tear off his shirt and swoons* Anyway :) So that's really the only reason I can think of that they'd do the whole logo thing :)

Oh yeah, YAY DEADLY FORCE!

Lady Baltimore> You need to run your tapes on EP (or SLP depending on your VCR) to get the 6 hour recording time out of them. There should be a button on your remote that says SP/EP (or SP/SLP or SP/LP/EP or SP/LP/SLP, etc.) and you need to make sure it's set to EP before you record.

Gargoyles Halloween Marathon Logo> Not to start a rant/flame/soapbox war but we really shouldn't complain too much. Granted I've never been a fan of the rating and station transparencies, so I totally sympathize. But Disney is giving this to us (I like to think they are, given their recent involvement in the cons and the announcement of the DVD release) so we really shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. All the episodes, in order (with one exception), and uncut (from what I've heard). They set aside 4 DAYS worth of regularly scheduled programming to bring our favorite show.
1) It's Toon Disney, which not everybody gets (myself included). They didn't have to do this
2) They're airing Deadly Force out of order. My guess is they wanted to move it to more of a primetime spot because they're still not comfortable with the subject matter but it appears that they're still respecting the show in some form: Enter MacBeth moved with it because Elisa being on crutches before she got shot wouldn't have made anysense; They're airing it before City of Stone and Silver Falcon so you still get the introductions of MacBeth and Tony Dracon in time (Elisa begins the practice of putting her gun away a bit early in Long Way Till Morning and you get to meet her family a little sooner Her Brother's Keeper does a good job of re-introducing the Mazas); and... they're actually AIRING it! Heheh :) I can't stress what an amazing accomplishment that is in and of itself when you considered how objected they have been to it in the past.
3) The logo pop-up is annoying... they didn't have to do this.

Again, not to start any arguments or wild flames here but I just wanted to give my two cents. I don't know if anybody from Disney but I'd like to say thanks for doing this for us. I personally can't wait for the DVDs to come out and I hope they do well enough that we get to see the entire series come out. But in the mean time I can't thank Disney enough for doing this, even though I don't get Toon Disney and can't watch the marathon, things like this will inspire people to continue to have faith in the fandom and support The Gatherings (and we'll continue to get some new faces around here).

Happy Halloween :)

Gargoyles marathon:

Of course Toon Disney had to ruin it for anyone trying to make good tapes by flashing their big ass "Gargoyles Marathon" logo that takes up the bottom third of the screen.

Bastages :P

Grr . . .

The big orange glowing letters that obscure the screen close to commercial breaks are getting a mite annoying. Doesn't help that my supposed 6-hour tape ran out only two and a half hours after I started taping, not including the dilligent commercial-cutting I did for every Awakening except part 3. Phh . . .

But, I'm going to see Deadly Force tonight without having to waste about two thirds of the time with buffering, so I guess it's worth it. :)

Still, oy. Wish I knew a bit more about taping. ^^;

CRAP! I forgot about that. Ohwell, too late now ;)

Not that it matters. Disney is putting SOMETHING out on DVD. I can hope it's the first season, but it might only be Awakenings. Either way, I'll be buying it. Even with all of them on tape, I'll still buy the DVD. HA.

Kya White Sapphire> Don't forget to record Awakening too because Gargoyles The Movie: Heroes Awaken is actually a slimmed down version of Awakening. I know Toon Disney is airing them in order but does anybody know if they're airing them uncut or not?

*sigh* How I wish I had digital cable or satelite so I could re-record Gargoyles (I have all the eps on tape but the quality is CRAP) *places his hand to his forehead* if only there was someone willing to record them for me *puppy gargoyle beast eyes* hehehe :)

Got it! I was able to advance the schedule in the sattellite guide, and it's the same for me: Gargs starts at 3pm and goes til midnight, and all the eps are in order EXCEPT Deadly Force and Enter MacBeth, which are the last hour of the night. I already have season one on tape (bought from disney) so I'll just be recording from 8:30 to 11 tonight, then I can set it and forget it for tomorrow onward. But I'm going to have to use two VCRs... I would need to change the tape twice during my shift at work. But hey, all eps in order! I printed the episode list.. this is AWESOME! I only had bits and pieces of season 2, and only ONE ep of the GC. I've only ever SEEN two eps of the GC. So this is awesome. Anyway... Enjoy everyone!!

Eventually he gets to the cookies, slumps down, and inhales deeply, and with such desperation that if anyone were here they would think there was cocaine on there. Life returns imediatly as he dose a backfilp and kisses his friend Wyvern, Devil doll.
