I don't want to be thought of as a know it all, i don't mean to be i'm not trying to be, I'm not! my sister and her boyfriend are in calarts people in calarts get to go work in Disney, you guys know that? Bob Iger uis the ceo so he's everything in Disney including Gargoyles which for now is small or something, really they're making a sequel to star tours no?but yes, a friend told me and my sister's boyfriend told me they're making a movie of star wars and keith will be Darth Vader, also no Lucasfilm is working with disney as much as they'd work with cartoon network, in fact, they're even going to air thier movie in the theme parks i think at least before coming to theaters. Also Gargoyles' Children Or Children OF Gargoyles is just a term for hard core fans of Gargoyles like Trekkies is for Star Trek fans i made it up like how the gathering of the gargoyles is named after the gathering. i want to suggest it to be an official term for Gargoyles obssesed fans. Also no, The Gathering is big as the others, i was wrong, please forgive me?

H.I.> The problem that people are having with you is that you are coming off as kind of a know-it-all when we really don't have much reason to believe what you're saying. You seem to keep assuming that you have all the answers and that the people here are unaware of very basic information. We keep telling you that we know that Disney owns Gargoyles and explaining that while nothing is happening right now, we have credible reports that SLG is pursuing the license again, but you just keep repeating that Disney owns Gargoyles as if we missed what you wrote the first time and brushing off our attempts to tell you why we think there could be more comics in the future.

I'm sorry but I find your whole story a little hard to believe. If I understand you right, your sister's boyfriend is a student at CalArts and a Disney employee? Unless he is in some kind of internship program, I don't see how or why he would be taking college courses and holding down a job at a major animation studio. And he also was the time and the access to speak to someone close to Bob Iger and ask him multiple questions about an extremely low priority Disney franchise? Again, I'm sorry, but it just does not add up.

I think if you would read what we are saying more carefully, you would realize that we don't disagree with you about the current status of Gargoyles all that much. There is no new Gargoyles material being produced right now. But Dan Vado at SLG is talking with Disney about a new deal for the license, so if that goes well, there could be new Gargoyles graphic novels in the near future. As I said before, I doubt that anyone at Disney would say anything definitively about a deal that could still be in the works. If they say "Yes, we're going to start a new deal with SLG" before the deal is actually done, it means that any other company that might be interested in licensing Gargoyles for comics and maybe paying more for the license won't bother to make a bid. If they say "No, we're not going to license it to SLG" before they actually tell anyone at SLG, it could sour relations between Disney and SLG and make bad PR for the company in general. A friend of mine once leaked some information about a deal that wasn't finalized yet and boy did he get chewed out for it. I can only imagine how harsh Disney would be with someone who was leaking their information.

I got the idea that maybe there was a sequel to Star Tours being made because Star Tours is a property where Disney and LucasFilm have a relationship already and I remembered reading that Disney Imagineering had been considering doing a new film for Star Tours. As it turned out, my information was not that up to date, since as Battle Beast pointed out, the new Star Tours film was announced at the D23 Expo in September. This is why I feel like you are ignoring what other people in the comment room are saying and that you are not a credible source of information. You completely disregarded Battle Beast's post and didn't take the two seconds it would have cost you to do a search for "new Star Tours" before declaring that "there's no sequel to star tours being made" and wondering where on earth we got that idea. Every time you've made claim that I think sounds farfetched, before I respond, I take a minute and check Google. I know I don't know everything and that I'm capable of being wrong. So I at least try to check before I post. And every time I've checked for some kind of indication that Disney and LucasFilm have a movie in the works, particularly one based on the Force Unleashed, I've come up with nothing. And this is taking into account the fact that there are people on the internet who are huge Star Wars fans who spend a lot of time seeking out information and reporting on rumors about upcoming Star Wars events. So I find it pretty hard to believe that if people like your sister's boyfriend are casually telling people about this Disney/LucasFilm/Force Unleashed deal, there's no mention of it on the internet.

If you really want to socialize with other Gargoyles fans, then I would suggest that you try to treat other people with the same respect you would want. I like to think that I'm a pretty friendly person and that this Comment Room in general is pretty welcoming. But I prefer that people at least try to make what they write easy to read. If I'm conversing with someone, I like to know that they're reading what I say just as I try to take note of what they say and make sure I understand the points they make. And I don't like people who act as though I don't understand the basic facts of a situation and keep repeating them even when I have clearly demonstrated that I know what's going on.

Read what people say, participate in other conversations, and don't post information that you can't back up with something we can all see. Do that, and you'll probably be fine. Oh, and only click on "Add Your Chat" once. If you're afraid of losing what you wrote, copy and paste it into another application.

On September 1st, Greg Weisman said:

"3. GARGOYLES: I'm sure a lot of people are wondering what this means for our favorite winged warriors, but in the short term, I'm sure the answer is "Not much." Gargoyles is pretty much under Disney's radar right now, and really doesn't exist on Marvel's radar at all, as far as I can tell. We'll be an extremely low priority. Our best bet is still SLG, which HOPEFULLY will be motivated by the sales of the Trades to want to make more content with me. Having read Dan "Mr. SLG" Vado's recent reaction to the Disney/Marvel merger, I'm hoping he isn't too discouraged by being in bed with his competition. But I have no doubt that the best way to get Dan fully on board is to make it worth his while by having those trades sell VERY well. So again, buy the trades and/or SPREAD THE WORD!!!!"

You, H.I, have demonstrated that you do not care about facts, you just post bullshit that your possibly fictitious sister's possibly fictitious boyfriend who works close with possibly fictitious Disney executives said.

I read Greg response in the archives: "I think of Goliath (and all the gargoyles) as being proportional. So that would make him fairly well-endowed by human standards. I have no doubt that Elisa and Goliath could become intimate, but I do have some doubts as to whether they could engage in intercourse without harming Elisa physically . But there are of course, many ways to become intimate short of intercourse." However, when someone else asked him if Gargoyles and humans can have intercourse he said sure.

But I think that Goliath is much larger than most Gargoyles. I wish I knew the height and weight of both Elisa and Goliath. I certainly think that it is possible based on their comparative sizes in the show but who knows?

Jasmine - [clarkejasmine05 at yahoo dot com]

Has anyone ever considered the possibility that gargoyles have small penises? Keep in mind that humans have the largest penises of all primates both absolutly and in ratio to body size. There is nothing to indicate that gargoyle penises would have to be bigger than humans' or big at all. We certainly have not seen any indication that beasts' penises are very large. In fact, species with larger penises are generally more polygamous in nature. A species as strictly monogamous as gargoyles is somewhat likely to have smaller gear.

And lets not forget about the females. There also isn't any reason to believe that gargoyle females can accomodate more girth or whatnot than a human female. Human females have to push out a fully developed infant. An extremely difficult and dangerous process. One of the most difficult births in the animal kingdom. Meanwhile, gargoyles give birth to a leathery, flexible egg that is mostly just fluid in a bag... essentially. Gargoyles have far less of a need for a spacious vagina.

Sorry if I'm a bit too graphic here, but for years we've only heard about how Goliath is hugely-endowed and Elisa is as tight as a vice. This strikes me as fan-fantasy fulfillment.
Has anyone ever considered the very possible idea that the sexual problems between these two people could be caused by Goliath's small gargoyle penis and Elisa's huge human vagina? For all we know, a male human and female gargoyle could have more issues getting it on.

Maybe Elisa and Goliath will have problems one way or another or maybe they will be just fine together. Point is, why all the assumptions?

Brianna and PKBitchGirl> Women can only push babies out when the cervix is open. When it isn't, the average woman can only fit about 8" of something inside, with about 2" for diameter. Girth can be "trained" for, to a point, but there's still only so much room, as most would consider having their cervix forced open to be extremely painful. And there is always the chance that Elisa is on the low end of the human accommodation scale, that Demona is on the high end of that scale for gargoyles, or both.

Now, internally I would guess that female gargoyles' tissues are naturally more stretchy than a human's; the height range is much wider than that for us, so I would assume a corresponding range of penile size. Thus, an average gargoyle female may be able to accommodate a larger maximum than a human woman is capable of. It's also possible that there's something about the male gargoyle's shape that would make it hard or painful to have sex with a human, but which a gargoyle female is able to take (bumps, ridges, flare, barbs, knot, etc).

Kerry (Kth) Boyd

The notion that the Mayan calendar predicts that the world will end in 2012 is inaccurate; that's just the date when the current cycle ends - sort of a larger-scale version of one of our calendars ending on December 31. The surviving Mayans who know about the 2012 excitement are exasperated by that piece of inaccuracy.

(We know that the "2012 myth" is one legend that *isn't* true in the Gargoyles Universe, obviously, in light of the "Gargoyles 2198" spin-off. I wonder what the Mayan gargoyles would have to say about it.)

Todd Jensen

@Brianna - I've also wondered why Goliath and Elisa can't have sex if Goliath and Demona managed it, Demona isn't much larger than Elisa after all

@Greg Bishansky - Thank You, I'm currently in the Storm Hawks fandom and we constantly have people claiming to know that season three is airing in 2012 (ridiculous IMHO, three years between seasons?) and citing Wikipedia as their source (never mind the fact that the date given in Wikipedia is the date the world is supposed to end according to the Mayan calendar). As far as Gargoyles and Storm Hawks go I'm only going to heed official statements by Greg Weisman/Disney and Ace Fipke/Nerd Corps, anything else is heresay.

Like with a trailer for the first Mass Effect, there's one focusing on the voice actors. There's a few more than just Lance Henriksen, Marina Sirtis, Seth Green and Keith David this time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm0iy8o88xs

No more Marina Sirtis, but we've still got Keith David and now Michael Dorn and Tricia Helfer as far as Weisman shows go. As well as a slew of other really cool voices.

Tricia Helfer seems to have kinda boomed as a vocal talent. I hadn't heard of her at all prior to Spectacular Spider-man, and now she's in this and StarCraft 2 (as Kerrigan) as well. She's really awesome.

Crazy post but if Shaq who is 7'1" tall and weighs 300 lbs can have sex with an average chick why can't Elisa and Goliath? Remember, women can push babies out of there. But the thought of being with Shaq scares me. LOL!

Thanks Greg. I do believe in an afterlife but not in the way most people do. But that is besides the point. Since the Gargoyle world is fictional and is Greg Weisman's idea and world I'd like to know if he had planned for them to be together in an afterlife. But until he says otherwise i think I will believe that they would be together in an afterlife in some form or another. I am a sentimental fool.

H.I. at the end of November Dan Vado from SLG said that they were in negotiations and that we should hear something soon. No reason for Disney not to negotiate. I am sure there will be more Gargoyle comics soon. But if the fans want more they have to show Disney its worth it by using their wallet. Buy the DVDs and the comics.

(I so wish I was in Cali right now. Its soooo cold here in NYC.)

4. It's okay to ask questions, but if you're going to make statements, you should know what the hell you're talking about.

5. Your "sister's friend" is not a credible source on anything to do with this property. We have Greg Weisman himself keeping us up to date on what's going on. We have Dan Vado, of SLG, keeping us up to date. These are credible sources.

I don't want to write you off as a troll, but if you keep up as you are, I will.

Greg Bishansky

H.I.> Disney approves the comics that Slave Labor publishes, but they did not and do not "produce" them. Slave Labor licensed the property from Disney (and hopes to do so again), decides who is going to write and draw the book, gets the book to the publisher, pays for the book to be published, pays the writer and artist and colorist for their work, and so on. Disney's only direct involvement with the comic after a publisher buys the license is to look at the comic and give it their stamp of approval before it goes to the publisher.

We are all well aware that Disney owns Gargoyles and that Slave Labor Graphics does not currently have the license to produce new Gargoyles material. However, the last thing we heard from SLG president Dan Vado was that he was talking with Disney about the possibility of a new deal for the license that would let SLG publish new Gargoyles graphic novels. So while it isn't a done deal either way, there is still a possibility of more comics in the future.

If Disney and SLG are currently in talks about a deal, then I doubt anyone at Disney is going to be talking about any potential future for Gargoyles right now. Maybe they are saying that they don't have any current plans to do anything with the property, but that could easily change if SLG offers them an amount they like for a new licensing deal. If anyone at Disney were to say definitively "yes, we are doing new Gargoyles comics with SLG[/i[ or "No, we're definitely not doing that" before the negotiations were finished, it would be pretty bad for any potential deals and could get anyone who worked at Disney who let that information leak in serious trouble.

I imagine that what you read on the various wiki sites was that the license that SLG had to do the comics expired, which - again- we already know. I don't think there is any credible information on the internet that say "Disney has stated definitively that they will not now or ever do Gargoyles again."

I think a Spectacular Spider-Man/Gargoyles crossover, aside from the script Greg wrote for the last Gathering, is extremely unlikely. The Disney/Marvel deal isn't finalized yet, so Disney doesn't "own" Spectacular Spider-Man any more than Warner Brothers owned it when it was running on KidsWB. So they can't just say " You should put Goliath and Mickey and Hannah Montana on the show." It's more complicated than that. There have been a few subtle nods to Gargoyles in Spectacular Spider-Man, but that's it.

Who exactly, in terms of position at the company, is your sister's boyfriend asking all these questions you have? It's not as though every single person who works at Disney knows everything that's going on in the whole company.

Uf you're talking number of attendees, I think you had it right the first time: the Gathering was probably never as big as the biggest Star Trek and Star Wars conventions held the same years. They may have both started small and some more local cons for the two properties may have fewer attendees, but in general, my impression is that the Gathering was much smaller. Star Trek and Star Wars had a lot more new official material on a much more regular basis than Gargoyles did, which helped to keep interest alive.

Also no they're not working on Gaorgoyles now, i checked it says they're not working on it on the wiki and wikipedia and on the site and in disey, i also asked my sister's boyfriend to ask (not Greg, Disney) about the possibility of A Spectacular Spider-Man/Gargoyles /Cross-Over if that's the least they could do whether it be a comic,tv special, an episode or anything, just that at, least, but they still wont!

Thanks guys. I remember reading somewhere that Goliath will sacrifice his life for the world which is typical of him and Elisa but that is a canon-in-training so it might not stick. I am very sentimental when it comes to those two so I guess I always wanted them to die together and be together in the afterlife. They say they are one forever so maybe forever includes the afterlife. Hey, why not? But I guess there is more stories to tell before we get that answer. One last question, everytime I see the cartoon I see the WTC. I wonder if he will ever have his characters address this disaster. Would be interesting but WTC went down during the day so I always wondered what the Gargoyles might have said.
Jasmine - [clarkejasmine05 at yahoo dot com]

Jasmine> If both Goliath and Elisa live long enough to die of "old age," then Goliath would almost certainly live much longer than Elisa. Even accounting for any medical breakthroughs that might increase the human lifespan some before Elisa dies, Goliath will be aging at roughly half the rate that she is. Right now, medical advancements that would allow human beings to live for about 200 years (not to mention still be able to enjoy life for all those extra decades) would require some pretty amazing scientific breakthroughs.

And of course, we have no guarantee that either of them are going to live as long as they potentially could. We're talking about two characters who have devoted their lives to protecting others and while I'm sure neither one of them would want to die, I think they would both be willing to sacrifice themselves if they believed it was for the greater good. In fact, Greg Weisman has said that Goliath will give his life in this way, though the exact reason is unknown and it's still canon-in training at this point. And we don't know how old Goliath will be when he make the ultimate sacrifice, so Elisa could well be long dead by then, of natural causes or otherwise.

JASMINE> Greg has never told us when or how any of the characters will die. I don't think he wants to spoil that one.

And as for an afterlife, Greg hasn't confirmed or denied the existence of one, I'm guessing because he doesn't want to tie his universe down to one belief system. And as for ghosts that we've seen, it could just be a side effect of magic, or not.

First time posting a comment but I had a few questions. Did Greg ever mentioned how Elisa dies? Or if she dies before Goliath? Also in the afterlife are they together? I imagine they would be.
Jasmine - [clarkejasmine05 at yahoo dot com]

Speaking of Bishansky's mention of Shylock yesterday, I've sometimes thought that if Demona had ever seen a production of "The Merchant of Venice", or read it (both of which strike me as unlikely), she would probably have considered Shylock singularly unambitious - asking for a pound of flesh from just one Venetian, rather than wiping out the entire Christian community of Venice. (Though she might settle for that, if it was Elisa whom she got to carve a piece off of.)

Caesar Augustus might count as another Shakespearean character in "Gargoyles" (though canon-in-training at this point), since he appears in "Julius Caesar" and "Antony and Cleopatra"; of course, both of those plays were at the beginning of his career, while he got the Roman Magus to cast the humility spell over the gargoyles near its end (in A.D. 10, four years before he passed on).

I wonder whether Moth, Cobweb, Peaseblossom, and Mustardseed are Children of Oberon in the Gargoyles Universe, or inventions of Shakespeare. (I suspect them to be the latter.)

H.I.> I have to second Greg B's confusion about your comment. It was pretty hard to read. If you want people to respond to what you write, please try to use correct punctuation, sentence structure, and paragraphs so that it's easy to understand.

As Greg said, a lot of the points you bring up are either not news to us or kind of flawed logic. We know that Disney doesn't consider Gargoyles to be a priority right now. that it hasn't been making them a ton of money lately, that the ratings for the show probably aren't great, the DVD sales aren't where Disney wants them to be, and the Gathering was nowhere near as big as major Star Trek or Star Wars cons of the same years. We don't need anyone from Disney to tell us that. We know that SLG no longer has the license to produce new comics for the Disney properties. Again, not news.

Does this mean Gargoyles is not going to ever continue? No. We also know that Greg Weisman wants to tell more Gargoyles stories. And we know that Dan Vado at SLG would like to negotiate a new deal with Disney to produce new Gargoyles graphic novels. It may not be as sure a deal as J.K. Rowling getting to write new Harry Potter/Hogwarts/whatever stories, because she's pretty much in a position where she can write her own ticket. But there is still hope.

I don't really understand what you're saying about Disney being "too busy" to do Gargoyles. Again, we know they would rather put their money towards more profitable concepts. But you mention all of these Disney projects that aren't remotely related to either TV animation or comics. Maybe Disney doesn't have the budget in one division to devote to Gargoyles so long as they feel it won't be a big money maker for them. But movies and video games have nothing to do with. Different divisions, different budgets, different groups of people. It would be like Disney saying "Oh, we can't possibly make a new Mickey Mouse TV show now because we have to do the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Disney is a huge multimedia company. They may not have the money to do everything we might want them to, but "too busy" isn't really a factor.

And where did you hear about Disney collaborating with LucasFilm on a Star Wars film? That's news to me.

H.I> Your entire post is one sentence. It would be much easier to reply to you if you learn proper sentence structure. Paragraphs are also your friend.

We also know that SLG is in negotiations with Disney to publish more comic books that Greg would write.

I know about Rowling doing more Harry Potter stories in the future because she said she's going to do it! in interviews! and i know that Gargoyles is not continuing for 1. The comics are cancelled, Greg Weisman and Disney, my sister's at calarts and her boyfriend works In Disney and i asked him to ask him about Gargoyles, and they said that they're currently not pursuing it, for they're busy with other Projects like The Princess And The Frog, Upcoming Projects like Phineas And Ferb The Movie, Future Hannah Montanah projects , A Pirates Of The Caribbean video game and they are working with lucasfilm to make a Star Wars Film, so practically they're saying why should we do Gargoyles, It's Not Worth It! Which Of Course We Know It Is, also The Show isn't doing well, Not many people are watching it on TV which of course i don't blame it on the show, i blame it on the fact that they only have it on Disney XD which not everybody has, if they just put it on Disney channel or Any of The ABCS or let Cartoon Netwotrk Show it, then there'll be more of a chance of that, and also The DVDS aren't selling as much, and the Gatherings aren't as big the Star Wars or Star Trek Conventions And not many people or celebrities come to them, it's not me saying it, it's Disney! So they're just saying like they don't feel it's worth it, even though i strongly disagree. That was a reference to "The Two Gentlemen of Verona", one of Shakespeare's early comedies. The title characters were a couple of young gentlemen named Valentine and Proteus; Proteus is depicted in the play as a duplicitous schemer who proceeds to betray virtually everyone, including Valentine, his best friend, to get what he wants - until at the end, he repents of his evil deeds and is forgiven (in a scene which nearly all reviewers have found unconvincing). It's a little-known play, and I probably shouldn't have alluded to it so casually (it's said that if you have to explain a joke, it doesn't work).

Todd> To whicch Shakespeare play areyou referring thats obscure?
battle Beast - [Canada]
That is all I will say.

My understanding is that Terry and Sphinx are the Gargoyles Universe's Romeo and Juliet stand-ins.

I would imagine that we would see another nod or two to Hamlet given enough time, as it is one of the best-known Shakespeare plays. Whether it would actually play out as-is I'm not sure, but I'm sure we'd see more characters quoting from the play where appropriate.

And there's also the "weird Macbeth." Do we know anything about that beyond the cast?

Demonskrye - [<---"George and A dot J dot " at The Ink and Pixel Club]

BISHANSKY - Remember when we speculated, before "Bash", that the mysterious young woman in the Labyrinth was named Tamora? And now, of course, we know her name, and are more likely to link her to "The Arabian Nights" than to "Titus Andronicus".

I've sometimes speculated on Macbeth, at least (and maybe a few of the other long-lived Gargoyles Universe characters) encountering some of the characters in Shakespeare's history plays; it's especially tempting to have him meeting Richard III. (I don't think that Macbeth would have gotten along that well with Richard, though, whether the Shakespearean interpretation of him is correct in the Gargoyles Universe or not. Richard had led an English army into Scotland in 1482 - the year before Edward IV died and Richard seized the throne from his nephews - and I don't think a Scottish patriot like Macbeth would have been pleased with that.)

We probably won't get a "New Olympians" story in which Proteus gets out of prison again and this time goes after a former friend of his named Valentine (that Shakespeare play's a little too obscure, anyway).

It's hard to imagine Gargoyles as being aimed specifically at adults, and Titus Andronicus strikes me as Shakespeare's most "adult" play. Sure, the Clan Building comics showed more blood than the TV series could get away with, but it was still a far cry from the rape, murder, dismemberment, and cannibalism that we see in Titus Andronicus.

And the subject of grudges and revenge has already been touched on pretty well in the Gargoyles series already, so any references to Titus Andronicus would probably play off one of the existing grudges: Demona and the Canmores, perhaps. Angela has already been dragged into that grudge, and both Hunter and Jon Castaway will have kids eventually if I've read the canon-in-training correctly.

Paul - [nampahcfluap at yahoo dot com]

Pretty quiet in here, we can always fall back on Demona's measurements*... ;)

Okay, I'll broach a topic. Aside from Queen Mab and "The Tempest," which Shakespeare plays do you think we're more likely to see elements of in future stories... and yes, I know the correct answer is all of them.

Now personally, while I can't wait to see Shylock in the diamond district demand a pound of Brendan's flesh in the "Gargoyles" Hanukkah special, I think we can safely say this one ain't happening any time soon. ;)

I always felt elements of "Titus Andronicus" were very possible, especially when Greg described Tamora as "a Gargoyles character in the making." Whether it's actually her, or someone like Falstaff using the name, I have no idea.

Paul> Keep in mind that the Magus' spell came from the Grimorum, an extremely powerful magic book while Una's spell presumably came from a less powerful book. Also keep in mind that it seems likely that Una was less skilled in magic than the Magus. So both the power of the spell and the power of the spellcasting could've played a part.
Also note that the Magus' spell had an endpoint while Una's didn't. I would think this also factors in to Goliath and Bronx's reactions to both spells. I don't neccesarily think that the intended duration of the spell neccesarily plays a part.
So, I guess to sum it up the Magus' spell turned the gargoyles to stone (and would've put a human into a deep sleep) because it was a more powerful spell and casted by a more powerful wizard and it lasted so long because it had a definite endpoint. Meanwhile, Una's spell was probably a weaker spell or perhaps was only intended by its writer to merely knock its targets unconcious. It only put the gargoyles and Elisa into an unconcious state and all woke up shortly thereafter without a counterspell or some other form of breaking the spell. And it doesn't seem unlikely that Una's lesser skill may have played a part as well.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if Una cast the Magus' Grimorum spell and vice versa.

Paul> The intent of the spellcaster or the writer of the spell seems to play a lot into magic in the Gargoyles Universe. In this case, you have a spell that is intended to leave its targets sleeping long term and one that's meant to knock them out temporarily. Whether the intent is one the part of the Magus in the first case and Una in the second or whoever wrote the spells in the first place isn't clear. But it seems that the idea is that if you cast a long term sleep spell on a gargoyle (or probably one that will be in effect during the day), it will turn them to stone, while a short term sleep/unconsciousness spell will not, even if they both use versions of the same Latin word for "sleep."
Demonskrye - [<---"George and A dot J dot " at The Ink and Pixel Club]

I have a question about sleeping spells.

The one used by the Magus in "Awakening, Part Two" (Dormiatis dum castellum super nubes ascendat, or May you all sleep until the castle rises above the clouds) turned the surviving gargoyles to stone.

The one used by Una in "MIA" (Dormite hostes mei ubi statis, or Sleep, my enemies, where you stand) made Goliath and Angela sleep like humans, or other animals. It didn't turn the gargoyles to stone, in any event.

Was this simply a mistake, or is there another explanation?

Concerning the Monopoly game tax spaces, considering Gargoyles is set in modern times, the taxes should probably be left as they are. However, if the mystical artifacts aren't used as properties, the Luxury Tax jewelry should definitely be replaced with the Eye of Odin.

One other point to note, Andrea; there's a Mega Edition of Monopoly that has an extra property for each group save the railroads, not to mention a skyscraper building unit after the hotels, among other additions. Obviously, the board is twice as large. If there's too many possible property choices for your version, you might want to go with the Mega version where the Utilities, Dark Purple, and Dark Blue properties sets are the only ones with three unite - all others have four units. You could even plan the property sets around expandability (similar to how someone proposed adding the Praying Gargoyle to the Grimorum, the Eye, and the Gate - the Praying Gargoyle could be added for the Mega version while the others are the standard set).
