They breathe and exist in physical space.

I honestly prefer Gnash/Lunette and Kermit/True a lot over pairing each of them with one of these dull, pseudo-Garg OCs. But I also have to admit that I don't care much about each of these pairings anyway. :S

I have no strong opinions one way or another about Gnash/Lunette or Kermit/True, but I don't see any harm in people "shipping" these pairings, and in fact I think if you're someone who strongly favors economy in storytelling, it kinda makes sense to pair these characters off in your own personal "headcanon."

Taking Lunette and Gnash as examples, if both of them are to have mates when they get older aside from each other, then that means two entirely new characters need to be created and fleshed out, and presumably at least a few stories need to be told about these characters to make us care about them. But if they end up together, no new characters need to be made and more "screentime" or "pagetime" could be spent fleshing out Gnash and Lunette themselves plus giving more time to add little character moments involving other members of the cast or maybe a scene/page that enriches an action sequence in one of the storylines, because you wouldn't need to spend time introducing and making us care about new characters.

Obviously I've no clue what Greg's plans are for these two characters, but I wouldn't mind a tiny bit if they ended up together, as long as their personalities are such that they would be compatible (we really don't know much about either character yet) and as long as their romance begins in a way that it would be believable that they are developing feelings for each other.

Plus if you're like me, you would find it a little bit presumptuous when people insert characters of their own creation into fanworks about an established universe. I don't write fanfiction and I don't usually read it either but if I was gonna, I'd rather read a story where the writer works with Greg's existing characters rather than hamfisting their own into his universe. And yes, I know we weren't talking about fanfiction. I'm kinda just rambling. Fanfiction, in my mind, is the extreme end of what happens when people start thinking about what might happen in the future of a fictional universe that they care about.

Is there some reason people assume that Kermit and True might've been mates aside from the fact that they are from the same rookery? I tend to doubt they are the only gargoyles their age among Demona's clan circa 997, though they are the only ones in their cell and probably the only ones with their roots at Wyvern.

For all we know, True left the clan/cell to find/join a mate elsewhere.

I just have a sense that Kermit and True's relationship was much more based on being the only immediate sibling and peer available to each other. They were friends, I imagine, but beyond that... I don't know.

The whole thing reminds me of how people talk (or 'ship') about Lunette and Nashville. Sure, it is possible and could be cool, but I think it is mostly based on the fact that they are the only gargoyles we know of at that age at that time period.

Considering how huge a chunk of the cliff side is missing, Brooklyn would have to be a gigantic moron to make a mistake like that.

Somewhere out there, a film student is finding out what Rosebud means for the first time. A man is pausing as Fredo prays the Hail Mary on a boat over Lake Tahoe. A woman grasps her heart as Bogie's love flies off into the foggy night. All it takes is one moment to change a person. And that one moment... no matter how fleeting... is worth a thousand Transformers."

oh cool, it works.

Interesting thought, that thing with Kermit and True being mates. Although I doubt True lived long enough to become fertile. She isn't present in the clan in 1020, and I doubt that mates would live in different cells or one would leave the clan while the other wouldn't. For example, if she was banished, Kermit would probably have followed her..

Also, my favourite Gargoyle designs are Brooksbro, the Blue Beaked Gargoyle, Second, Schnozz, Constance, the aquatic blue Gargoyle on Avalon and also his fat reddish friend, and 2 background characters from Ishimura (the beaked brown one with the beard and the small one sitting on the ground here).

As far as True goes, I figured she was killed along with the rest of the clan after Demona betrayed MacBeth. But I have hope that somehow TimeDancing Brooklyn saved one of her eggs (possibly fathered by Kermit) and took it with him leaving it with another clan to raise.

Everyone knows who my favorite design is. But I think most of them are cool looking designs.

Ill start something. What is your favorite Gargoyle Design? Mine is Kermit, one of Demona's four.

If I had to guess, I would think at some point the Hunter got her.

Of course, that would only add to the burning question: Where did she go and what was her fate?

MATT> That seems more likely. Considering the conditions that clan was living in before the alliance with Macbeth, I can't see anyone or group leaving... Demona was the devil they knew, and she still provided for them.

MAYBE instead of going to another cell or leaving the Clan altogether she was banished by Demona!

Maybe she did leave Demona and maybe that's the reason why she's named "True". Maybe she didn't want to be part of the plundering and stuff. Maybe she died in an attempt to show how much she disagreed with Demona. Maybe I used the word "maybe" way too much in this post.

Anyone have any theories on what happened to True, Hudson's third biological child? Anyone think we'll see her again? I wonder if, as she got older (assuming she did), she disagreed with Demona on things. Maybe she joined another cell... or maybe something more drastic...

She is quite the mystery, really. As far as I know, we don't even know why Greg calls her True.
