For the record, I never asked for an apology or for it to stop. This room just can't take any kind of questioning without it being a massive assault. So don't apologise, just be aware not everyone gets everyone's posts. Although, I'm not asking for a run down for what you mean, but I'm just saying, this room loves to make comparisons big or small, and on that one occasion, it was like, "Okay, King Arthur and Griff went to Westminster Abbey?" :/

It's interesting to read all the comparisons. But fact, fiction, fiction, fact can get a little confusing a bit because I'm trying to follow the fiction of real life being compared to the cartoon. So all the King Arthur and Griff stuff was a bit odd. Or in other words, I'm just following the cartoon. I don't care about all the other stuff. But that's just me. :P

I considered checking out The Fall and Rise of Captain Atom #1 by Greg and Cary Bates, but after seeing the front cover (with Captain Atom's skin being torn off and seeing some of his skeleton underneath), I think I'll pass.

Today is Twelfth Night (after which one of Shakespeare's comedies was named, though one which hasn't left any traces in "Gargoyles" as yet), and also the anniversary of the passing of Edward the Confessor in 1066. Edward was King of England at the time of Macbeth's overthrow, and presumably gave his consent to the English alliance with Canmore (he gets mentioned in "Macbeth" as well, though as an offstage character); he also built the initial version of Westminster Abbey, where King Arthur would meet Griff centuries later (though the present-day Westminster Abbey was actually rebuilt in the 13th century by Henry III, the longest-reigning and least exciting of the Plantagenet kings of England), thus making an unmentioned mark on "Gargoyles" twice.

Because the stealing away of children is a common theme in cautionary tales especially ones involving fairies I always liked to imagine that the Pied Piper had some connection to the Fairies. Perhaps one who had been stolen away by them when he was a boy and learned some magic from them. And when he stole the children away from Hamelin and took them to a cave in the mountains was secretly any entrance into the fairy lands.

Todd: Alternatively, the Pied Piper story might be true but not accurate. For example, maybe the adults mistreated the children of the town, and they left with the Piper willingly to escape their abuse, so the townspeople made up a slanderous story in revenge.

ALGERNON - I've wondered about that as well. The only potential obstacle to the Pied Piper being Puck (or any of the Third Race) in the Gargoyles Universe is Oberon's Law, forbidding meddling in human matters - but piping the children out of Hamelin might not be considered meddling if it's in response to being cheated out of your pay.

So a theory that's been bouncing around in my head for a while. Greg's hinted that Puck's flute possessed supernatural powers of it's own. (The original plan was to have Puck use it to subdue Oberon in part 2 of The Gathering)

Which has lead me to often wonder if in the GU, Puck was the Pied Piper of Hamelin?

Maybe this has already been said, but SpecSpidey has now achieved complete series status on DVD. Going straight to Blu-ray is probably a bigger achievement, but just having the entire series on DVD is just as good (and easier, especially if all the discs work).

There's no chance of it being renewed, since Sony owns the rights to the series, and Marvel would rather just make its own new series (and probably don't won't to go through all the legal stuff, simply to continue a series it couldn't have full control over since Sony would still have legal rights to the first two seasons). Ultimate Spider-Man is being replaced this year by a new cartoon simply called "Spider-Man", so there's no "Marvel could make new Spectacular Spider-Man episodes" about it. BUT at least Sony are still keeping it alive and making the 26 episodes of 1 and 2 more available to people (like people who don't have Blu-ray player, like Greg Weisman who bought the Blu-rays, anyway. :P). The DVD artwork is also just as good, if not better, than the Blu-ray artwork.

Just got my Rain of the Ghosts Kickstarter rewards in the mail yesterday (I was on vacation and off-island at the time they were sent out, and my mail was stopped until 1/3).

But good things come to those who wait, and the goodies did NOT disappoint. The CD case itself is extremely handsome - I like that it incorporates the Chris Jones artwork in the foldout sleeves - and getting to see such a wide array of signatures on both the CD case and the script is pretty darn special.

A warm mahalo to Greg, Curtis Koller, Jamie Thomason, and everypony else responsible for this wonderful gift! :)
