I really want to see a young Scott and Barda too.

As for new members of the Light, it's kind of tricky because you need big time threatening villains that would share a common ideology that wouldn't try to back stab the other members. I get the feeling that the events of "Coldhearted" were meant to test Count Vertigo and see if he could make it into the upper echelons but that failed, rather miserably.

Since a lot of season 2 was the Light manipulating events to eliminate the galactic competition leaving only New Genesis, Apokylpse, the Green Lantern Corps and Earth as major players in the known universe I can imagine them reaching out to Sinestro especially if he has his own Corps in this continuity.
I can easily see Deathstroke step up from enforcer to head member much like Black Manta which brings up another problem.

Ocean Master and Black Manta worked in a specific niche, underwater and in a position to work against Atlantis so finding someone who could replace them would be difficult.
Gorilla Grodd being super intelligent, psychic and powerful due to Kobra Venom could replace the Brain and his cohort Monsieur Mallah. As for other members I could see other possibilities being Circe, Neron, Talia stepping in for her father and maybe Desaad or G. Gordon Godfrey to act as an overseer for Apokylpse.

SEASON 3! WOO WOO!

Personally I'm hoping to see more of New Genesis' inhabitants. Darkseid and his minions show up everywhere adaptation-wise yet we rarely get to see the other side of the Fourth World explored in much detail.

I particularly think a young Scott Free and Big Barda would make neat additions to the Team.

I am longing to be with you, and by the sea, where we can talk together freely and build our castles in the air.

By far the most likely new member to join the Light's "table," I'd imagine, would be Deathstroke, given his stated ambition to do so. He's highly skilled, brilliant, and deeply complicated; a traditional archnemesis for the Teen Titans and Dick Grayson in particular in the original comics; and riding high on popularity now, with his upcoming role as the main antagonist of Ben Affleck's "The Batman" film being a prominent example.

Plus, as indicated by their presence in my list below, his increased prominence would create a lot of interesting story opportunities for his children, Titans members Joey and Rose Wilson (Jericho and Ravager, respectively).

I won't go and create another big giant list - mostly because DC has my favorite stable of supervillains in fiction and I have no idea where I would stop - but sticking purely to the ones who've ALREADY shown up in the show/tie-in comics and I could see being elevated...
The Riddler
Talia al Ghul
Professor Ivo
Count Vertigo
Black Adam
Gorilla Grodd
The Ultra-Humanite
Bane
General Wade Eiling
Amanda Waller
Desaad
Again, that's only if they stick with already-established faces. But the possibilities here, assuming that Warner Bros. continues to give them access to most if not all of DC's wonderfully diverse stable, are pretty much endless.

Especially given that examples such as Sportsmaster or Klarion demonstrate Greg, Brandon, and co. aren't afraid to elevate B- and C-class baddies to the big leagues.

While the talk's revolved around new members of the team for Season Three of "Young Justice", that might not be the only group in the series that'll be doing some recruiting. As I recall, Season Two ended with three members of the Light out of business (Reis al-Ghul was badly wounded and presumably had to head back to the Lazarus Pit to regenerate, and the Brain and Black Manta were captured); the radio play crossover Greg Weisman wrote even had the Light getting replacements for them, and although it's not canon (and I think we can safely assume that Demona and Thailog aren't showing up on Earth-16), it still suggests that the Light's been left with vacancies that will need filling come Season Three (and will probably be already filled, offstage, since Season Two did the same).

I'm not enough of an expert on DC Comics, though, to guess who the new members of the Light will be; I'll leave that to those who know more about it than I do.

Interesting lists BRANIAC and MASTERDRAMON, here's my two cents.
I know a lot of people want to see Cyborg, Raven and Starfire join up and while I'm sure that the show would justice to the characters and I'm not in a huge hurry to see them, nothing against them but I'd like to focus on the characters we have or focus on lesser known ones like the show has already done.

I REALLY don't want to see Damian Wayne show up, his brattiness in the recent animated movies have burned me out on the character.
I'd like to see Bette Kane and Stephanie Brown step into the super hero identities, especially Flamebird and Spoiler.

It would be nice to have a proper introduction for Donna Troy especially after all the trouble they had just getting the rights to character and it would be nice to see why she left the team in the first place.

With Deathstroke becoming a prominent villain I'd love to see his kids make an appearance. Rose (Ravager) and Joseph (Jericho) would make for interesting heroes or villains.

I would love to have Kid Devil join up with the team, not just because I like the character but his presence could open up the possibilities of infernal forces that the team would have to battle. Plus his mentor Blue Devil has kind of been just a background character in the past and it would be nice to see him show up proper.

Sorry for the length.

SEASON 3! WOO WOO!

All good suggestions. A few other potential recruits that jump readily to mind:
Cyborg
Omen
Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner)
Bombshell
Stephanie Brown (as Spoiler, Robin, or Batgirl...I am not picky)
Firestorm
Hawk and Dove
Hot Spot/Joto
Zachary Zatara
Kid Devil
The Wonder Twins
Arrowette
Secret
Stargirl
Cyclone
Phantasm
Ravager
Jericho
Aquagirl (Lorena Marquez)
Argent
Flamebird
Bunker
Geo-Force
Duela Dent
Speedy (Mia Dearden)
Pantha
Empress
That's who would make my shortlist. Err...for a given definition of "short." :P

Sorry about that last post; I discovered on another visit to the site Brainiac mentioned that those five characters were in a slideshow rather than the main text.

BRAINIAC - The artlcie you linked to seems to have left out the list of new characters its author was hoping for (or else it doesn't show up on my computer due to some glitch).

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, though I don't follow DC Comics in general, I have recently started reading "Gotham Academy", and quite like it. I don't think that the leads seem suited for new members of the team, though - more likely, if they show up in "Young Justice" Season Three at all (and since Greg said at "Ask Greg" that he hasn't read it, they might not), they'd probably be bit characters (like Wendy and Marvin in the first season). (And the Gotham Academy of the cartoon - I refreshed my memory with a clip featuring it on YouTube - doesn't much resemble the Gotham Academy of the comic book; the "Young Justice" Gotham Academy looks like a regular high school with a "light and airy"-type design, while the Gotham Academy of the comics has a more dark and Gothic appearance and architectural style.)

If you haven't read "Gotham Academy" yet, it contains a few allusions to "Batman: TAS" - such as Killer Croc talking about the time he threw a rock at Batman, the security guard who'd like a radio career from the Langstrom episode, and Simon Trent as the drama teacher, who's directing the school production of "Macbeth" (and at one point offers to play the First Apparition, remarking that he's some experience playing a ghost).

And, of course, I wonder if there will be a subtitle, like Invasion.

The news that Young Justice was renewed was absolutely stunning. I hope it picks up where it left off with the Darkseid plot. The only thing that could improve on this news is an explosion of new Gargoyles graphic novels including all the planned spinoffs.

<checks calendar>

Everyone managed to hold it back for two weeks. I'm mildly impressed. VERY mildly.

Now stop it, please. Let's focus on something a bit more appropriate to this platform. For example...

http://comicbook.com/dc/2016/11/22/characters-we-want-in-young-justice-season-3/

ComicBook.com put this up after pieces on their top 5 episodes of each season of the show. I think at least one, possibly two, of those listed has a good shot of appearing, but what/who does everyone else here particularly want/hope/expect to appear in Season 3?

Indeed, it may not be new Gargoyles, but it is fresh work from Greg Weisman and his stellar collaborators, so who knows? Greg's said repeatedly making suggestions to him on Twitter is inhibitory, so hey, maybe we can bring in a few of those folks to come and talk to us in here instead. Not to mention if we can help them appreciate Greg's still arguably most famous work, they might help our push for new stories. Getting some help from the YJ fandom, considering they've successfully gotten their series back, might help get the rumored Joe Books Gargoyles project moving forward.

Longtime lurker and lover of "Gargoyles" here, but if I could just interject--

Hillary Clinton did not start the "birth certificate" nonsense. This claim comes from a misreading of Halperin and Heilemann's "Game Change" about the 2008 election. I repeat, Hillary Clinton did not start, nor ever endorsed the lie that Barack Obama was born outside of the United States. The fact that so many people believe this unsubstantiated claim to be true is indicative of the mass misinformation that led to Donald Trump winning the election in the first place.

umfi

Masterdramon: I do live in reality. All I said was the simple truth Hillary Clinton start the Obama birth Certificate nonsense. You are the one who is act like a sore loser.
Vinnie - [tpeano29 at hotmail dot com]

Aaaaaand that's why I put a preemptive "this is my last word" disclaimer.

I knew the response was going to a nasty deflection, ridiculous exaggeration, or blatant falsehood. Or some combination of the three, as in this case. Congratulations on meeting my low, low, low expectations.

No point in wasting reasoned counterargument on someone who simply refuses to live in reality.

Move along, folks. Nothing to see here.

Masterdramon: You forgot that Hillary Clinton herself was an Obama Birth Certificate Fool. In fact she was acting like a sore loser a long time before this current election.
Vinnie - [tpeano29 at hotmail dot com]

I'm probably going to regret this, but I've been on a remarkably short fuse the past two weeks and I'm afraid I simply can't resist. So...

Yes. And one of those "Obama Birth Certificate fools," arguably the most prominent and persistent one in the entire country, is currently the President-Elect.

That may go some ways toward explaining why this is a pill much of America is reluctant to swallow.

Whatever one's personal political opinions, asking those on the left to "grow up" and be all gracious and accepting, after years upon years of systematic attempts to de-legitimize the nation's first black president (He's a foreigner! He's a secret Muslim! Let's see his college transcripts!), is...

Quaint.

Don't bother responding, incidentally. That's my last word on the subject, and I suggest others treat it as the same.

B: Spoil Sport! Grow up and just accept that someone you hated won the Election. This is as bad as those Obama Birth Certificate fools. Trump won and nothing will change that.

Please share this with everyone you know who would be interested!

First my stepsister shared with us a petition to abolish the Electoral College, and now even better: Petition for the Electoral College to Elect Hillary Clinton on December 19. This was linked on my professor, Nnedi Okorafor's, Twitter: https://www.change.org/p/electoral-college-electors-electoral-college-make-hillary-clinton-president-on-december-19

I hadn't known this, but there's no legal way of stopping Electoral College members from voting against the majority of their State. They just have to pay a small fine, which would be well worth it.

If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called Gravity Falls. It's not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods. Waiting.
