1) The character Coldstone, originally being made from the pieces of three different Gargoyles, was shown to have contained the souls of those three Gargoyles. Did the ritual/experiment that brought life to Coldstone summon their three souls from the after-life, or does being shattered as stone trap Gargoyles in their shattered remains so long as a Wind Ceremony is not performed?

Greg responds...

It's a fair question. And an open one.

DENVER COMIC CON REVISED & UPDATED #2

Okay, so I just took a look at the Denver Comic Con website (http://denvercomiccon.com/), and the schedule there doesn't always match up with the schedule I was sent. I'll make adjustments below, but what this really means is that I'm not 100% sure where I'll be at any given moment. I will be tweeting throughout the weekend though, so follow me @Greg_Weisman to stay up-to-the-minute on when and where I'll be.

I've got some questions about Iago, Desdemona, and Othello.

1. Was Othello's flashback in "Legion" real? Why was Desdemona so upset?

2. Do you plan to do your comic that goes more into Iago, Desdemona, and Othello? I'd love to see more of their story!

3. Since Coldstone flies with rocket power, as do Coldfire and Coldsteel, would they ever run out of fuel? What powers them?

4. Did Iago really love Desdemona, or does he just want her because she's taken?

Greg responds...

1. Wow, you're really testing my memory. I think it was based on "real". Desdemona, as I recall, was upset because Othello believed Iago when he accused Desdemona of having an affair with Goliath.

2. There are no current plans for more comics, though I'd jump at the chance if it was offered. And, certainly, we'd have more on the ColdTrio.

3. Fair question, but I haven't given much thought to it, I'm afraid.

4. I'll leave that to your interpretation.

Do either Coldfire, Coldstone, or Coldfire require sleep to avoid mental exhaustion?

Greg responds...

Haven't thought about it.

In High Noon, what would Demona and Macbeth have done if Iago hadn’t been the personality to take control over Coldstone? What was their plan if Desdemona or Othello had taken over?

Thank you for your time and all that you do,

Greg responds...

I'm afraid I'd have to watch this again too. It's just been too long.

Greg
I was wondering about the backstory of Iago's deception to Othello. Could you elaborate on it? (i.e. what circumstance did he make Othello believe Goliath and Desdemona were betraying him, like did he show them kissing or something--I know gargs don't kiss, just a for instance...) Also, how did the situation get reconciled, I mean how did Goliath and Desdemona prove themselves or disprove Iago to Othello? I just wanted to know the story (or as much of it as you'd tell ;)).
Pretty Pretty Pretty Please?
With a cherry on top?

Greg responds...

Yeah... no. Sorry, but that's a story I'd like to tell some day, so I'm gonna save the details, though if you rewatch "Legion" you can glean the gist of what happened.

How many of their senses do the coldtrio have in their robotic bodies? I mean, they can obviously can hear and see, but can they smell or feel?

Greg responds...

They have no sense of smell or taste. There sense of touch exists, but is limited to pressure, heat, etc. There is no subtlety.

FEBRUARY 3

This day in Gargoyles' Universe History....

February 3rd...

1995
It is still snowing as an armed assailant robs Mr. Jaffe's local grocery store, a childhood haunt of Matt Bluestone's. Goliath accompanies Elisa Maza on her shift, gliding above her car. David Xanatos and Demona revivify Coldstone from pieces of Othello, Desdemona and Iago. Coldstone makes a splashy public entrance in Time Square, where he's confronted by Goliath and the Trio. When Demona, Xanatos and a Steel Clan robot join Coldstone, the battle moves to the George Washington Bridge, where Elisa, Hudson and Bronx soon join the fray. Coldstone sacrifices himself to save Goliath and winds up dormant at the bottom of the river. Goliath and the other gargoyles rededicate themselves to protecting all of Manhattan.

Hi Greg,

I forgot a question that I meant to ask (that random #4 at the bottom of the post).

Coldstone is made from the shattered pieces of Othello, Desdemona, and Iago. Other than the Shakespear reference how was it possible that the pieces of these specific gargoyles to be used and no others? How did Demona get them anyway? I'm sure she didn't carry pieces of her rookery siblingings with her through the centuries.

Thanks!

Greg responds...

They were in a pile at the castle, as the three gargoyles were in close proximity when they were shattered. Or more accurately, some of Desdemona and Iago's pieces got mixed in over the centuries with what was mostly a pile of Othello. I don't think there was an intent on mixing three gargoyles together when Coldstone was created.
