I'm not sure what you mean by "episode summaries".

I noticed that Zatanna's designation to enter the cave is A03.

1) Is the letter "A" a designation given to visitors to the cave?
2) Who were A01 and A02? Red Torpedo and Red Inferno?

Greg responds...

1. Authorized Guests.

2. No!

You've actually met A01. A02 will appear in Season Two, though in a way you've already met A02 also. (Wow, look! I gave a Spoiler hint! That's so unlike me. Well... don't get used to it!)

"Humanity" was amazing! Loved Zatanna's depiction!
1. Is Zatanna's hair black or a dark brown?
2. In comics, I've seen Zatanna with both brown eyes and blue eyes. Was there a specific reason behind choosing blue eyes for the Young Justice universe?
Thx!

Greg responds...

1. Black, basically.

2. I don't know. It's a question for Brandon Vietti and James Peters (our color stylist), who make the decisions on eye color. I'll admit, I've only started paying attention to eye color since all these questions about it started appearing here at ASK GREG. I just never focused on it before.

From the episode 'Revelation':

"Robin, she's made contact." - Miss Martian.
"Artemis?" - Robin.
"No." - ?

This may be an extraordinarily stupid question but who said "No."?

Miss Martian.

Hey Greg,

First off, let me say how much I've been enjoying "Young Justice". "Revelation" is probably my favourite episode yet (though I usually say the same thing about pretty much every episode when it comes out).

Anyway, you've often said that while working on "The Spectacular Spider-Man" you used the original Lee/Ditko/Romita run as your "primary source" while still borrowing ideas and concepts from other corners of the Spideyverse like the Ultimate series.

I was just wondering, where there any DC comics series or runs that served a similiar role for "Young Justice"? I know YJ draws from all over the DC Universe but what particular series or creative teams do you think had the most influence on how you approached the series?

Greg responds...

It's a much wider palette then Spidey was, but I'd say the first two or three years or so of Young Justice and the first two or three years of the original Teen Titans run was the stuff that I focused on research-wise.

But I also drew from all sorts of other sources, since we were tackling the depth and breadth of the DC Universe. So we looked at Justice Leagues of various eras, and Titans of various eras... plus other influences (including old Hanna Barbera stuff) that are just part of all of our geeky backgrounds.

Why did ya'll choose artemis to be part of the team?

Greg responds...

If that's not manifest from the episodes themselves (both those that have aired and those yet to come), then we've failed and no answer I could give would add any further clarity. I mean either it's already on the screen or it's a SPOILER. Either way, I'll let the work explain itself.

First off, I'm a fan of Gargoyles, and now a fan of Young Justice.

Now the questions:
1. How do Green Arrow, Red Arrow, and Artemis keep their quivers from spilling? When they fight, they have to move around a lot, usually in acrobatic forms to keep themselves from being hit by whatever is attacking them, but in doing so, they would cause the arrows in their quivers to spill out. Do they have some sort of adhesive or lock to prevent spillage or is it something else that I am missing?

Greg responds...

Yes. ;)

Hey Greg! I think you are doing an amazing job with YJ! You and the entire TEAM!

I just finished revelations, And I LOVED that Wotan Used "Fulminos Venite" (SP?) against Dr. Fate! I greatly enjoyed the Gargoyles Reference :-P

I noticed, as well, that Blue devil was in this episode, and I always enjoyed his character. I was wondering if in this iteration he is the man in the bio-mechanical suit, or the post-Neron deal resurrected actual Demon?

Also I love Superboy's pets. The Sphere and Wolf. Were either of these characters inspired by actual DC figures? Or are the show-specific originals?

And I have to applaud the AMAZING Brent Spiner as The Joker! I really enjoy this take as, what seems to me, a more broody, pathological insanity versus a wacky nuttiness from previous incarnations. And Mr. Spiner is always a great talent to add to ANY project!

Thanks and please keep up such great work and amazing shows!

Hi Mr. Weisman!
I'd just like to extend my sincere thanks that you've taken so much time out of you busy schedule (I can only imagine what your day's like) to try and answer some questions from devoted fans. It means a lot to us.
Personally, I adore this show. For one that's only just started and only has a few episodes out, it's taken the cartoon-watching community by storm. Trust me, YJ has gotten popular at an ungodly speed. But that's a good thing.
I don't want to ask too many questions. I'd rather just watch and see the answers unfold in the show and the comics. But I just have one (and don't worry, I scoured the archives, so I hope this hasn't been asked) question:
A while back, there were rumors of an episode 11 titled "Nightwatch" about Robin and Batgirl in Gotham. You don't have to say whether Batgirl's ever going to cameo (I know, I know, "NO COMMENT") but could you tell me what happened to the episode? Has it been scrapped, or has it been reassigned to a different season.
I checked all the episode names for this season and I couldn't find it, so I assumed that you had trashed "Nightwatch". Or maybe it wasn't ever really an episode in the first place?
Thanks again,
Brick

Greg responds...

We didn't trash anything. There was never an episode of Young Justice called "Nightwatch". My guess is your rumor was just that. A rumor. And since it was completely false, it was really more of a LIE that someone posted and other folks passed around.

This isn't so much a question as it is utmost praise and appreciation. I love your work on Young Justice everything is beautifully done. My favorite character is Kid Flash and I'm so happy with the way that you portray him on your show.
I'm happy to say that I enjoy all of the characters, and even their little quirks, such as Robin play with the English language, and M'gann's "Hello Meagan!". Personally I don't see why it bothers everyone so much.

So I would just like to say thank you for making such a wonderful show.

Howdy Greg,
Just to start off I am absolutly in love with Young Justice. Amazing work. You've said in a couple of your answers that Red Arrow has more money than Green Arrow and I was wondering how that happened. I always thought their relationship was like Robin & Batman's. Sorry if this is common DC knowledge, YJ is pretty much my first expierience with superheros.
Thanks :)

Greg responds...

When Oliver Queen had money, he set up a trust for Roy Harper, who also had a small inheritance of his own. Then Ollie lost all his money. But that didn't effect Roy's trust, which he came into possession of when he turned eighteen.

Hey, just a few questions about YJ's Vandal Savage:

1) How did you guys decide on Vandal Savage being the leader of The Light? I almost expected Lex Luthor to be the leader until I saw Targets.

2) How did you guys decide on Miguel Ferrer's voice being used for Vandal Savage? He is a great voice actor, he's obviously doing his job here well, and I've seen a couple of his roles (Shan Yu, Silvermane) and thought they were impressive, but I couldn't have seen him voicing Vandal Savage until after I saw Revelations.

3) Nice scars on Vandal Savage's face. Is that a deliberate reference to the Hunters from Gargoyles? Or is there something else behind them that would compel you to give me the dreaded "NO COMMENT"?

Greg responds...

1. Vandal is first among equals. The Light was his idea. And he's the oldest.

2. I think Jamie, Brandon and I all just thought that Miguel is tough to beat for this kind of thing. I vaguely feel like I was the one who suggested him for the role in the first place, but that may just be me taking credit for a great idea.

3. Phil Bourassa came up with the scars in his orignial design for the character, declaring they were the result of a fight with a cave bear. They have nothing to do with GARGOYLES.

I haven't given most of this any thought. These answers are off the top of my head, and I won't be held to them, if I change my mind.

1. Iris, Jay, Joan, Wally, Rudy, Mary, most of the League.

2. Barry, Bruce, Clark, Diana, J'onn, Orin, Ollie, Diana. John. Maybe Thom.

3. Bruce, Diana, J'onn, Barry, Hal, Orin.

4. Superman and Batman, once. Flash and Green Lantern once.

5. All of them? No.

6. Some were, some were not.

7. Yes.

8. I'm not getting into his origin at this time, but he's 28 years old.

9. Alfred, Mera, Orm, Rudy, Mary, Iris, Dubbilex, Guardian, Paula, plus the Light and various affiliates thereof.

10. Yep.

11. I'd have to do some research and heavy thinking on this question. Mostly, I just don't know. But most are Christians by heritage if not in practice. The obvious exceptions are Aquaman & Wonder Woman, who are pagans and Martian Manhunter, who worships the gods of M'arzz. Red Tornado is studying multiple religions. I also know from writing the comic book that Captain Atom was raised Catholic, even if he doesn't practice it much. Zatara's probably Catholic too. Hawkman & Hawkwoman worship whatever religion people worship on Thanagar. I think that covers it.

Conventions...

So I was invited to attend Kimvention 2012 - the new convention dedicated to the KIM POSSIBLE television series: http://kimvention2012.com/

I would have loved to attend, but unfortunately, I had already committed to Denver Comic Con the same weekend: http://www.denvercomiccon.com/

I'm really looking forward to Denver, but I do wish I were able to attend both.

Kimvention should be a lot of fun. And Kim Possible was a great series. So if you're anywhere near Anaheim this June, I'd recommend it.

And if you're anywhere near Denver, come see me at Denver Comic Con.

The Batfan writes...

Hi! It's me again, and wow, we've had some great episodes since "Terrors." "Home Front" and "Alpha-Male" really served to underline one thing I think is really great about this show: the bad guys aren't go to show the heroes mercy, just because they're teenagers. If these people can stomach killing civilians, they will definitely use lethal force to get rid of a few meddling kids.
...and then there was "Revelation," which blew my already high expectations for this show right out of the water.
It's not just that I think this show is nine kinds of amazing; the thought that keeps crossing my mind is, "This is the definitive animated version of the DC universe." This coming from someone who loved Batman: the Animated Series, and watched Teen Titans, The Batman, and the vast majority of DCAU material. Maybe it's because I'm not as young anymore, and I need a more mature, more plausible, more "complete" world; but while that's certainly a weighty factor in why I like Earth-16, I really think the level of writing and design seen on this show just hasn't been surpassed by any animated DC material that I've seen yet.

Anyway, sorry about that rant of praise. I'm sure you get a lot of it. I do have a few questions:

1. I looked through the archives, and there have been a lot of questions about Robin's - or, more specifically, Dick Grayson's age and grade level. I get that he's thirteen, and a freshman; he's definitely smart enough to have skipped a grade somewhere down the line. My question is this: if he is a freshman, and therefore new to Gotham Academy, why does its gym have his math prizes before he starts going there?

2. Belle Reve seems to hold many criminals who do not actually have any super-powers. Why are they held there, and what do their collars actually do, besides shock them? (I'm thinking more particularly of Riddler - though I know there's a question about him pending - Abracadabra, Ojo, and, with the exclusion of Killer Frost and Icicle Jr., the ice villains).

3. How do the power inhibitor collars have any effect on Mammoth and Blockbuster? Not only is their strength in their muscles (and therefore not a "supernatural" effect that can be canceled unless the collars generate some kind of gravity field - and then they wouldn't be able to move), but the Brain's collars don't seem to do anything to his enhanced animals.

4. How old is Wotan, and *what* is he?

5. How old is Black Adam, and why are his ears pointed?

6. When Atomic Skull blasts the flash, why does he not sustain severe radiation burns?

7. I really, really liked the way you re-introduced the Helmet of Fate. The entrance on that amazing low drone singing. The ethereal, solemn sense of power that created really served to demonstrate that Fate isn't just some hero - he's the physical manifestation of a cosmic entity. Anyway, my question: did you get a singer to vocalize that, or was it done digitally somehow?

8. Speaking of - I'm curious about the music in animated TV shows. Do you record real musicians playing the tracks (orchestras, rock bands, etc.), or is it all done digitally? And if it is all digital nowadays, might you know when the switch was made?

Thank you so much. Looking forward to more great episodes!

Greg responds...

I'll always take rants of praise. Never get enough. Yes, I'm just that shallow.

1. ASKED AND ANSWERED. (It's a six year school. 7th-12th grades.)

2. Riddler's collar does nothing but potentially shock him and keep him in line. But any "super-villain" who could easily escape a standard prison can be housed at Belle Reve, whether they have innate super-powers or not.

3. Brain's collars weren't designed to inhibit, just to maintain discipline (which is another function), so that's an apples and oranges argument. As for Mammoth and Blockbuster, the collars inhibit their muscles. Not 100%, but clearly enough.

4. Old.

5. I've never understood why his ears are pointed. But they are. Black Adam is also old.

6. When did he blast the Flash?

7. I'm pretty sure it's digital.

8. Well, every series is different. Most - but not all - of the YJ music is synth. But of course, "real musicians" did record the synth . But for example, on Spectacular Spider-Man, guitar was such an important element of our score, that although most of the music was synth, the guitar work was always the genuine article.

All right, before I ask my question, I just want to say that Young Justice is one of the most well-written and well-animated shows I've seen in a very long time, and I adore the fact that it is able to take itself seriously and that it develops such compelling characters without heaps of backstory (though, granted, I have yet to read the companion comics). That praise sounded a lot more eloquent in my head. Oh, well.
Anyway, I just wanted to ask something about the episode titles. I've noticed that the majority of the titles are only one word, except for "Independence Day," "Welcome to Happy Harbor," and the last two planned for season one, "Usual Suspects" and "Auld Acquaintance." (I count Alpha-Male and Drop-Zone as one word titles because they have hyphens.)
I just wanted to ask, are the episodes with two words in the title going to be especially important ones, like Independence Day (the pilot) and Welcome to Happy Harbor (the, uh, "second pilot," in which the team itself works together for the first time). I may just be stumbling around in the dark here, and I know it's an odd question, but I was just curious.
Thanks again so, so much for creating such an amazing show! I go running out of class every Friday to catch it, haha.

Greg responds...

It doesn't work that way. My tendency has always been for one word titles (or two words if you count the word "The"). But I'll take a better title over a short one any day, and the multiword titles you named just seemed like the best choice for their specific episodes. (FYI, Drop-Zone is hyphenated, but Alpha Male is two words.)

Greetings Mr. Weisman, I've been deeply enjoying your Young Justice Series, one of my fave shows on TV at the moment (love what ya did with alot of the characters and story elements, Kobra venom is SCARY STUFF). I'd like to ask you...

1) Do Starfire, Redhood AKA Jason Todd, Beastboy, Cyborg, Deathstroke, and Blackfire all exist in Earth/Universe 16?

2) How did you decide which villains to use for the Injustice League & the Inner Circle of the Light? I must confess I was more impressed by the Injustice League's roster, which seemed rather well balanced in terms of skill sets, than the Light's roster, which pretty much consists of schemers, mad scientists, and greedy dictators/rich guys. I was kinda hoping the Light's council would consist of the arch villains of each of the Justice League's founding members, ya know, like Joker for Batman (poor Mr. J got screwed over lol), Lex for Superman (happy to see him again >8D), Cheetah for Wonderwoman, Sinestro for Green Lantern, etc, etc. I mean, I get Lex & Ghul, but the rest of the Light's lineup seems to consist of lesser villains most people outside the DC comic fanbase wouldn't recognize, or who wouldn't be construed as top tier villains who'd make even the heroes nervous to see working in concert (especially the Brain XD). So yeah, what made you decide to delegate which villains to the "fall guys" team & the others to the "masterminds" team?

Thanks for your time and keep up the awesome work on the show, you rule :D

Greg responds...

1. NO COMMENT.

2. Lots of considerations went into the formation of both groups.

We came up with the Light first, from a list of easily 100+ DC villains. Most of the choices were fairly obvious to us, but we did try to create balance. But it was not about powers with them. You're notion of a major villain from each founding Leaguer's rogue's gallery had absolutely NOTHING to do with our process at all. So the fact that you fell in love with that notion and were disappointed when it didn't turn out to be true is something I just can't control - or even concern myself with. But I wouldn't characterize any of them as "lesser villains".

For the Injustice League, we went back to the same list and grabbed a nice range of heavy-hitters with a nice range of powers, particularly abilities that fit with their scheme and would create believable proxies to fool the League into ignoring the Light. Totally different mindset in building this second set of villains.

Speaking of T.0. Morrow,
Is he in any way relating to Cadmus?
And speaking of Cadmus,
Is Amanda Waller and Hugo Strange still part of Cadmus? And how does Strange become the new warden at Belle Reve?

Greg responds...

1. Yes, all three, plus Red Volcano.

2. No.

3. What do you mean "still"? On OUR show what gives you the idea they were EVER involved with Cadmus? (They weren't.)

4. You saw how Strange became warden. What do you want me to add?

Just a general hint to our viewers: I think you'll all be happier, if you stop bringing expectations to the series based on outside sources, especially other previous cartoon series' exclusive continuity - and especially, especially when that continuity diverged from the source material. Since we haven't even seen most of those episodes, any common ground comes from common sources, great (or not-so-great) minds thinking alike and/or pure coincidence.

First off, thank you for taking the time to read my question.

Second, I just want to say that you guys are doing a phenomenal job with Young Justice. I'm loving every second of it and I'm a huge fan of Gargoyles (My sister used to watch it when I was a little kid. I never remembered much, but I did remember Goliath and Elisa). Anyway, you've all done a great job with character designs, plot, animation, all in all, everything! The one thing that I'm loving about your show is the continuity and you've handled it extremely well, something that some cartoons nowadays are lacking.

Robin is by far my favorite character. I just love his laugh and playing around with English grammar. I'll admit, I was a little worried when I read that he was voiced by Jesse McCartney, but after hearing him, I really like it! I've noticed when I was looking through the archive of questions that some people have been giving you a rough time for Megan's catchphrase. Even though I find it a tad annoying, it's not enough for me to hate it. In fact, I think it's cute and really suits her personality. So good on you for sticking it to the haters! I've just got a couple of questions.

1. With Barbara Gordon's cameo and since she was Dick's girlfriend in the DC mainstream, will Robin have a love interest and is it Barbara? I'd ask if she'll become Batgirl, but I have an idea of what you'd say to that.

2. I was really caught off guard by episode 14 when Blue Devil, Guy Gardner, Plasticman, Rocket and Icon came in. Does this mean we will be seeing many other DC heroes that were not introduced as part of the Justice League? Where have they been this entire time and why were they not part of the League? Will they be?

3. Sadly, the only thing in your wonderful show that has disappointed me is the Joker, one of the most iconic villains. He looked like the Joker, but he just didn't feel like him. I'm not going to shout at you for how you portrayed him, but I'm curious as to why you chose to portray him the way you and your team did. Why wasn't he voiced by Mark Hamill?

4. Since Superboy has taken in Wolf, will he be taking in more strays as the series progresses? Why does the Sphere not accompany them on missions like Wolf does?

5. Relationships don't last forever, so will Superboy and Miss Martian break up at some point (not that I want them to)? They are teenagers after all and dealing with, as you put it, "romance issues, sex pounding in your head and all sorts of hormones."

7. Where was the rest of the Team during "Terrors?"

8. It was stated in your interview with World's Finest that Young Justice: Invasion would focus on an alien invasion. Is the invading force Braniac?

9. Since Red Arrow and Cheshire were romantically involved in the DC mainstream, will they be a romance pairing in the show (as inferred from "Targets")?

I would have several other questions, but the response you'll likely provide would be SPOILER or NO COMMENT, so I figured I'll just save you the trouble on those ones. ^_^

Greg responds...

1. ASKED AND ANSWERED.

2. Stay tuned. (And just because one debuts as a 'hero' doesn't make it automatic that one's granted membership in the League.)

3. I just can't really understand the thought process behind this question. Why not ask me why I'm not using Cesar Romero as the Joker? (I mean - beyond the fact that he's dead.) We're starting fresh with a fresh interpretation. And frankly, when Brent Spiner was done recording Joker, we were all thrilled.

4. ASKED AND ANSWERED.

5. NO COMMENT.

6. You had no question 6.

7. See issues 16 and 17 of the Young Justice Comics.

I have a few questions about "Revelations".

a. We were treated to cameos of superheroes like Icon, Plastic Man, Guy Gardner, Blue Devil, etc. Are all these superheroes also part of the Justice League or are they just allies?

b. I wasn't much of a fan of Young Justice's Joker although he could grow on me in the future. That being said, why did you shy away from Mark Hammill's classic Joker? Did you think it didn't fit with the series?

c. Why was Black Adam so toned-down? Shouldn't Black Adam be able to take on the whole Young Justice team on his own?

d. Where was Red Arrow in all this chaos? I know he isn't part of YJ or JLA, but you did mention that he's focusing completely on hero-work. The whole world was in crisis, why didn't he participate?

e. If Dr. Fate is so strong, why doesn't Batman and the rest of the JLA find Nabu a suitable host? Surely, Dr. Fate would be an incredible asett to the team and shouldn't be wasted sitting on Kid Flash's shelf.

Thanks for responding!

Greg responds...

a. ASKED AND ANSWERED.

b. No, we didn't.

c. Why should he? Look, as I've noted on the hero-side, we've brought everyone's power levels back closer to what they were when they originally debuted. That means we've toned Captain Marvel's powers way down. And if Marvel is less powerful than he's sometimes been presented, why wouldn't the same be true of Black Adam.

d. He did. Look again.

Ok, I once read somewhere that next season called invasion will be relaunched with the DCnU. does that mean that characters that no longer exist in the mainline comics (like Wally West) will no longer be canon in Earth-16 Young Justice?

also, this may seem like a stupid question but, does Wally know Batman's secret ID to or just Robin's?

Greg responds...

1. YOUNG JUSTICE: INVASION will be part of the DC NATION block on Cartoon Network. It is simply the next 'chapter' of Young Justice and is set on Earth-16, which is not influenced by the changes in the mainstream DC Universe, if for no other reason than those changes were announced TOO LATE for us to include them whether or not we might or might not have wanted to.

I love anytime you guys throw fairly obscure characters into YJ, as I'm sure many others do. However, I adored the Blue Devil cameo in "Revelation"--his early comics were so funny and so much fun, and I think he's vastly overrated and has a very cool backstory. He had a similar silent cameo in JLU as well, but seeing him even without lines is cool.

Whose idea was it to throw him in? And actually, on a more general note, where do most of the ideas for using the lesser-known characters you come from? Is it usually more collaborative from the entire writers' room, or do people occasionally throw in their favorites every now and then (especially in bigger fight scenes like "Revelation" where you could feasibly fit in any superhero you want)?

Again, thanks for being awesome!

Greg responds...

You think Blue Devil's "vastly overrated"?

It was my idea to throw him in, and I tend to be the one to pull in new characters (that is new-to-the-show pre-existing characters from the comics), though (a) that's not exclusively true and (b) I have help with research from John Wells.

And we can't just throw in any super-hero we want, because any super-hero we want needs to get designed by Phil Bourassa, and there are only so many hours in the day, you know?

Thank you for being Klarion back in episode 14! I was wondering if he would come back, and I hope we'll see him fight Doctor Fate again. :)

Questions
1) How old is Klarion? He said "Order went out in the 19th century", so I'm curious if he is a teenager on Earth, or much older than that. Well, how old is he on his dimension and how old is he on Earth?

2) How tall is Klarion, and how much does he weight? (If you don't know, don't care about this one...you can just put NO COMMENT, I'll understand) The reason why I asked is because he looks very very skinny, too skinny.

3) Does Klarion have to eat/sleep? Or is he just immune to those things since he's in another dimension?

4) Does Klarion have any ounce of good in him, or is he just all evil?

5) How does someone become Lord of Chaos, or Lord of Order? Are they just like that, or what exactly?

I know that's a lot of questions, but if you could answer a few I would be very appreciative!!! Thank you for the wonderful show! :)

Greg responds...

1. Klarion in our series is a Lord of Chaos. He is Chaos personified. He has no age.

1a. He has no dimension per se, where he has a concrete age. He's a concept.

1b. Ageless.

2. Yeah, no comment. I assume its variable anyway.

I read this on the Young Justice Wiki:

1 - "Savage bears a scar that resembles the signature mark of the Hunters from Gargoyles, another of Greg Weisman's production."

2 - "Queen Bee is voiced by Marina Sirtis, best known for her work as Demona, from Gargoyles, another of Greg Weisman's production. Queen Bee dons a veil around her shoulders, reminiscing Demona's wings when furled. She also wears a gold armband similar to the one that Demona used on her left arm, and a golden diadem that resembles Demona's headpiece."

was this a conscious nod to Gargoyles? who's idea was it?

Greg responds...

Neither were, actually. Phil Bourassa designed both characters, and if he was inspired by Gargoyles - a show he didn't work on - I'd be very surprised.

These are coincidences. Fun coincidences, I suppose, but just coincidences.

A few questions:
Do heroes outside of the League have their own special designations for getting into Mount Justice and the Satellite?
Captain Atom seemed to strain himself to take in all of that atomic energy. Can his shell be seriously damaged by absorbing too much energy at one time?
I like how Wally's collection of souvenirs is a smaller version of the JL Watchtower's Trophy Room. Can we expect the collection to continue to grow throughout the rest of this season and into the second?

Thanks again for an amazing episode. I haven't looked forward to an animated show like this since Spectacular Spider-Man. Keep up the good work!

1. No. Cuz they can't.

Hey Greg! I don't have a specific question, but I did want to email and comment on episode 114: Revelation. In my opinion, it is easily the best Young Justice episode so far, and one of the best animated episodes of anything set in the DC universe. The action sequences were intense and I think you really showed villain teamwork the way it should be - not just the members of the team fighting together, but combining their strengths to make something even more powerful than they are; casting Brent Spiner as the Joker just sealed the deal that this version of the Secret Society / Injustice League was a force to be reckoned with. Thank you so much for making this show (I look forward to it every Friday and I hope it will keep running for years), and keep up the good work!

Greg responds...

Thank you!!!

I first of all wanted to say how much I love YJ so far. I was sooooo excited to see the reveal of the other members of the light and was very content with them. I do have a question, though. Who are the current Justice League members (that you can tell us without it being a spoiler)? If there are any you want to keep secret, how many secret members are there? Thank you and keep making cool TV. :D

Greg responds...

The entire Justice League was revealed in episode 102.

In alphabetical order they are:

Aquaman
Batman
Black Canary
Captain Atom
Captain Marvel
Flash
Green Arrow
Green Lantern
Green Lantern
Hawkman
Hawkwoman
Martian Manhunter
Red Tornado
Superman
Wonder Woman
Zatara

Hi Greg. I love Young Justice and the show is really getting better and better after the hiatus!
Alongside with "Homefront", "Revelations" was great! I love to see Joler and Ivy on the show^^
I got a lot of questions, I don´t know wher to beggin!
I wanna know the reason of why to choose Alyssa Milano for Poison Ivy´s voice?
Will be more episodes focus on Artemis past and life? I really her :)
Will Icicle Jr. and Artemis even meet in the show?
Artemis and Icicle Jr. are married in the comics.....Will you use that for some sort of plot in the show? I really would like to see them imteract^^
Also I like Artemis and Wally together, will their relationship grow? And I mean as more than friend.
Do you think the mole will be revealed in season 1?
Im interested in the episode called "Coldhearted" Actually Im interested in all the episodes :) But if it´s ot to much information....could you tell, who will be the main character in that?
Thats all for now^^
Congrats for the show Greg, it´s really cool!!

Hey! I saw the Young Justice production updates and it got me thinking...

Season 2 is 'Young Justice: Invasion' and only 20 episodes. Does that mean that there won't be a season 3? Because I am in love with this show and I don't want to see it with such a short run.

PS: 'Homefront' was AMAZING! Favorite Episode :D

Greg responds...

Too soon to say whether they'll be a third season, but the title and/or number of episodes for Season 2 has no baring on the decision on Season Three. Now the ratings and toy sales, on the other hand...

Just finished watching Revelation and I must say you guys really outdid yourselves with this one. Definitely my favorite episode so far. Intimidating bug name villain, Awesome cameos by JL members, cool moments for the entire JL team, and the revelation of The Light's identities! What more could a DC fan ask for?

Enough praise. On to my questions:
1. Now that the identities of the Light have been revealed can you say how long they've been a group relative to the JL?
2. Has Wally discussed his meeting Kent Nelson with Jay Garrick at all? I assume the two Golden Age heroes would have known one another personally or at the very least had knowledge of the others' presence in the super hero field.

Greg responds...

1. NO COMMENT.

2. I'm sure he has.

Hi Greg, 'Revelation' was brilliant! It was an epic.
I want to ask some questions of Young Justice.
1) In "Independence Day" Why did Wotan want to blot out the sun?
2) Is Blockbuster's mutation irreversible? Is Mammoth's mutation irreversible?
3) Why did T. O. Morrow want to reprogram Red Tornado?
4) Why is the Light (via Sportsmaster) procuring means to go "mano-a-mano" with the Justice League?
5) Why was Professor Ivo thought to be dead? Why did Professor Ivo create Amazo? Was Professor Ivo working alone or was he in cahoots with someone else?
6) Why is Paula Crock in a wheelchair?
7) In "Bereft" When Miss Martian restored Superboy's memories, why was there a glimpse of a White Martian?
8) Where did the Sphere come from?
9) In "Targets" Why does Cheshire and Sportsmaster seem to dislike each other?
10) In "Terrors" Is the Riddler as inept as regarded? How did the Riddler manage to escape? If only one convict escaped, then how were "the main objectives all reached"? What were the main objectives of the break out?
11) In "Homefront" Who created Red Torpedo and Red Inferno? What happened to Red Tornado when he touched Red Inferno? Is Red Tornado the mole?
12) In "Alpha Male" What happened to the Brain and Monsieur Mallah in the end? Why is Artemis so vehement that Aqualad cannot trust Sportsmaster?
13) Are Blue Devil, Guy Gardner, Plastic Man, Rocket and Icon members of the Justice League?
14) Where did Vandal Savage get his scar?

Greg responds...

1. You're making an assumption here that I think the evidence belies.

2. Doesn't seem to be.

2a. Ditto.

3. By now, you know.

4. Take a guess.

I've never worked with Christy. Though I freelanced a couple of Kim scripts, I didn't attend the recordings.

After watching the recent episode of "Young Justice" - "Revelations", I was to be 6/7 correct about the members of the Light. I also glad that you chosed Vandal Savage to be "L-1", bout time he took command. I was just amaazed that you chose Klarion the Witch-boy to be a member.
What made you chose him instead of someone like Felix Faust?

I really enjoyed "Revelation." I'm curious about the show's take on the Joker. I can see the influence from Heath Ledger's portrayal, but I was wondering what else influenced the overall design and characterization of your version.

Greg responds...

I think we were probably less influenced by Ledger's Joker than you might think - which is not to say it might not be in the mix somewhere and/or that I wasn't impressed with Ledger, because of course I was.

But we're all just retreating to common sources anyway.

Anyway, I can't speak to what influenced Phil and/or Brandon and/or Brent, but I mostly go back to old comics of my childhood for inspiration.

Why did you let Steve Blum reprise his role as Count Vertigo from the Green Arrow DC Showcase onto YJ?

Why did I "let" him? What an odd way to put it.

I thought Steve was great; Brandon and Jamie agreed, so we cast him in the role again.

'Revelation' was an awesome episode!! My favorite so far, thanks for this great Joker. The guy who voices him is not Mark Hamill but is sure a good Joker too, I'mm very pleased with him.

1-Will ever the Joker appear again? Fine if you can't answer that but I really hope you can.
2-Why is Klarion a member of the Light? He seemed like to be one of the villains that works for the Light not a memeber of it. That really got my curiosity.
3-Now that the team has random heroes to play as their 'den mother' We saw Captain Marvel. What other heroes are as a possibility for the task?
4-Which of the next episodes of season one will be center on Robin?

That's all I guess. Hope my questions are ok. I love the show thanks for it!

3-Will Hynden Walch ever voice a character, any character in Young Justice?
4-Will Artemis always be on the team?

In Revelation there were a lot of incantations thrown around. Could you give us a translation?

Greg responds...

Etacol retnecipe fo yrecros! = Locate epicenter of sorcery!

Erif, kees tuo siht larutannu erutaerc! = Fire, seek out this unnatural creature!

Niatnoc eht erutaerc! = Contain the creature!

Solvo quod reverto! = [Sorry, I just can't remember what this one means. But it's Latin, if that helps. Google Translate says it means "Free return that!" But that can't be exactly what we had in mind.]

Fulmina venite! = "Summon the lightning!" or "Lightning come!"

Ekirts Natow nwod! = Strike Wotan down!

I love how badass Aqualad and all the other Atlantians are on YJ! Usually, Aquaman is considered kind of a joke by a lot of people, but you made them so cool and powerful on the show, which is great. I was wondering, was some of the water controlling powers Aqualad use inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender?

Well, not really, because I've seen that stuff for years before I was exposed to A:TLAb. For example, W.I.T.C.H. But you know, it's all in there, I guess.

Hi, first of all - I love Young Justice! Tonight's episode (Revelations) was awesome!

I've noticed a lot of fan buzz (very positive, might I add) over the idea of a Kid Flash and Robin romantic pairing. I know there are certain parameters in which you have to operate in - does that preclude the possibility of a KF and Robin relationship?

Thanks.

Greg responds...

Well, what really precludes it, I suppose, is that I don't think either of them are gay. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
