Hello! When I found out that Young Justice was returning for a third season, I was ECSTATIC. However I am horribly impatient, and I was wondering if you could give an estimated date for when viewers can expect to see the new season. Thanks so much!

Greg responds...

I cannot. Not because I'm being coy, but because I honestly don't yet know where or when the new season will be. But we're hard at work on it, I can tell you that, with more and more crewmembers coming aboard almost daily.

Hi Greg! I am such a fan of all your work!!
I just wanted to say that I am glad YJ is back with you and Brandon mostly working the helm and I can't wait to see what you have in store for us :)
(you don't have to answer this but do you thing you'll have an episode where the team just watches celebrity hockey?)

Greg responds...

SPOILER ALERT: I'm fairly certain I will not have an episode where all that happens is that the Team watches Celebrity Hockey.

I'm so HAPPY to hear that there are LGBT characters in Young Justice! I hope this doesn't count as a spoilery question but my question is quite simple really... When you said that, did you mean it? What I MEAN by that is... Are there LGBT Characters... As in plural? As in more than ONE?

And thats my question! As a gay male I'm so glad that you are very open minded and really do care about representation. I hope we get to see some same sex relationships in season 3! I played Young Justice in the background all the time on Netflix because I really was holding on to that sliver of hope that it would be renewed and I'm so glad that it worked!

Greg responds...

We've established that Marie Logan was either a lesbian or bi-sexual. In my mind, yes, there are other LGBTQ characters in the series, as well. But I am NOT promising anything at all about what will be revealed or seen in Season Three.

Hello Greg! I hope you are doing well and I want to congratulate you for Young Justice season 3 being commissioned. I cannot wait to see it. Here are my questions:

1. How long was your timeline for Spec Spidey, if you had one? I know you had eventual plans to go into Peter's college years and beyond if you had the chance, so I was curious if you had stories, characters, and events such as deaths, graduations, etc. planned out? I'm not asking what stories you wanted to tell but I am curious if you had a long outline, similar to Garg and YJ.

2. Why did you make MJ and Gwen friends in the series? It was a change I loved and considering where Pete and Gwen end up in the comics and where Pete and MJ end up, I thought it was a brilliant idea.

3. For YJ and Spec, was Jamie Thomasson a comic book fan? I ask because I wonder if him being a possible comic book fan helped him cast parts in the show easier. Did he only rely on your scripts or also on other source material?

Can't wait for YJ season 3 and hoping for Garg comics! And I still hold out hope you can write Spider-Man again in another form! Take care Greg and good luck.

Greg responds...

1. I did have one. But I don't remember how long it was, and I don't have access to it here at my Warner Bros office.

2. I didn't come up with it. They were on and off friends in the comics.

3. You'd have to ask him, but I don't recall him being a hardcore geek like me.

Hey Greg!
I just wanted to say thank you for your dedication to the Young Justice characters. They're a part of my family, and I know they're a part of yours.
You brought a 30 year old man to tears on announcing season 3. A 30 year old man who must have streamed YJ seasons on Netflix 20+ times and bought all the comics on the dc app.

Did you ever give up hope on season 3? I have followed you guys online and I know you said that there was hope since the show hit Netflix, but was there ever a temptation to share the stories with the fans, thinking the show would never reach season 3? In my mind, these characters and their untold stories were in you both, and they'd reach us all eventually.
It's a most beautiful comeback story.
Noting what happened with season 2, I truly hope the show is on Netflix. To have the greatest stories these characters have ever told, at the whim of sometimes fickle networks would be a little unnerving. Having said that, I do trust that you've both placed our heroes somewhere their stories will be safe.
Thank you for the heroes, thank you for the stories and thank you for never giving up

Greg responds...

1. Hope ebbed and flowed.

2. No temptation to do that. I've learned the hard way that revealing ideas minus their execution is a recipe for disaster. (Or at least mild annoyance.) Certainly, no good comes of it. Besides, there was always the chance it might come back in comic book form.

3 I haven't "placed" the show anywhere. Let's make that clear. I have absolutely ZERO control over where it airs or streams or whatever. ZERO. That's way, way, way above my paygrade. Brandon and I are making the best show we can, but that's where our control ends.

What are your favorite non-Big Two comics?

Greg responds...

I'm afraid I'm not reading any right now. I'm mostly only reading DC Rebirth titles now, as potential research for YJ.

Historically, I was a big fan of Love and Rockets and Cerebus and many others.

Okay, so...

One, thank you so much for all the great series you've given us. You're really great at what you do, and we all really appreciate it, so thank you for being so awesome! :)

Now, my question is pertaining to (of course) Young Justice and it have been renewed for a third season. Don't worry, I won't ask for any of those spoilers you hate oh so much.

I know there aren't many specific details out as of yet, but it's been said that the show might be brought back on Netflix. Now, there are also many fans out of America that will be willing to watch this series come out if and when if finally does come out on Netflix, and American Netflix if different than some of the other Netflixes from around the world.

For example, I am from Canada (funny, eh?) and I've checked on the YJ cartoon up there frequently. Whilst there was a period of time where only Season one of Young Justice was up on the American Netflix, both seasons were up on the Canadian one. Then, when we had a chance to get it back and every one was binge watching now both seasons on the American Netflix, the first season got taken away from the Canadian Netflix. It was eventually given back, but I think you get the point.

SO, I guess what I'm asking is that if Season three of Young Justice WAS to be put on Netflix, would it be a problem for fans not living in America?

If you don't know the answer, it's fine. Thank you for reading this anyways. Your work is awesome!

Thanks once again!

Greg responds...

We don't know where the show will end up airing yet. Not in the U.S. Not anywhere. Right now, we're just glad that Warner Bros has the confidence to make the third season.

1) Hi Greg, now that season 3 is a go, can I just ask: is Troia off-limits again (like she was when you started work on Young Justice), or is she still a character that you can use (should you choose to)?

2) In theory, would DC's insistence on calling Captain Marvel Shazam impact on your use of him or the Marvel Family in future episodes? To put it another way, would the Marvel Family still be called the Marvel Family?

Greg responds...

1. I'll reiterate what I've already revealed. Troia was off limits only at the very beginning of Season One. So we never considered using her in that season. Partway through the season, we were told she was now available, but by that time all our plans for Season One had solidified and it was too late to include her. We had planned on including her in Season Two, at both Raquel's wedding shower and in the final mission against the Reach MFDs. But production concerns - not enough hours in the day - made that impossible. I won't address whether we plan to use her in Season Three, but I will say that as far as I know, there are no off limits characters. At any rate, no one we've asked to use has been vetoed.

2. Have we EVER called them the Marvel Family?

Is it my imagination, or are 11-minute/11-minute episodes steadily replacing 22 minute animation as the norm?

Greg responds...

I don't know about norm. But I do see a lot more series going the eleven minute route. (Not YJ, in case you were concerned.)

First, I'm very excited that Young Justice is getting a third season!
Second, I've been wondering about this for a while, but the third season prompted me to ask. As Tigress, Artemis uses different weapons (like a sword) and more close quarters combat than she did before-she's more like Cheshire in that sense. Was Artemis trained the same way as Cheshire, or did they have different specialties from the beginning

And this might be a spoiler, but is it safe to say that Artemis is on Cheshire's level now? She wasn't in Season 1, but with age and more experience, are they pretty comparable?

Thanks

Greg responds...

1. So are we.

2. Artemis and Jade were both trained similarly by their father, at least initially, but they had different specialties. Artemis (relative) lack of physical strength as a pre-teen and teenager, made archery a good choice for her.

3. We'll have to see if they ever have reason to test your theory...

Hi!! Congratulations on YJ coming back! I'm so happy!!
I can't wait to see more episodes and the team. I miss the original team, I wanted to see how they would interact with Rocket too.
Well I'm excited for vaillains and such, I love all you go take from all aspects of the DC universe. Any characters from Superman or Batman series or do your characters come strictly from comics?
Well congratulations and I'm excited for more!

I'm not sure which series you're referring to...

Do you mean like Mercy Graves?

Yay its back!!!! Im so excited to see what you all come up with for Young Justice Season 3. I have loved a lot of cartoons and this one is by far my favorite, it is made for young and old and is well written and intelligently constructed. The article said the show was in production, what does that mean, has it been written yet? What phase are we in here? Is it already being animated or dialogue recorded or are we still in that pre production phase? Also curious to see if all the main cast will be back?

Greg responds...

We're in pre-pre-production at this stage. That's about all I'm allowed to say.

I'm not allowed to say, yet. But thanks.

Please accept my (belated) congratulations on getting to do a third season of "Young Justice". (Which certainly has the potential to be really exciting, since, as I recall, Season Two ended with the revelation that the Light had teamed up with Darkseid.)

Hi Greg! With the exciting announcement of Young Justice season 3, is there any chance that the tie-in comic will return as well? Thank you for taking the time to read and (hopefully!) answer my question.

Greg responds...

I hope so. Christopher Jones and I are dying to do it again. But we've gotten no word from DC Comics about that yet, and we have asked. The best way to help with that is to help spread the word to #BuyYJComicsonComixology or on the DC App or on iTunes. We need to show DC that the comic itself sells.

Hey, Greg! With season 3 of Young Justice being announced, there's been a lot of hype. I was wondering if you've ever heard of Young Justice Amino? They're a group on an app called Amino, and they have about 1,000 members. They really helped play a part in orchestrating mass-binges. Anyway, my question is: Would you ever consider joining the community? It would be cool for the members and such.
Not to get ahead of myself, but the link to the community is here: http://aminoapps.com/c/young-justice-amino

If you would like to looks around there, feel free! See what kind of community your fans have built. :)

And, if it's okay, I'd like to give you my email... We've talked on Twitter before (not in private message, but via posts) and I thought it was cool. My email is blackopsprince666@gmail.com

Greg responds...

Nope. Never heard of it. And, I'm sorry, but it doesn't make sense for me to join a fan community while I'm working on that show. I can't risk legal exposure to fan ideas.

And I'm not going to take your email, either. I can't start contacting fans directly, using my own email. I have thousands of twitter followers. If I exchanged emails with all of them, I'd never get any work done. Plus I need some privacy.

I'm guessing this is a pretty disappointing response, and I regret that. But this is the reality.

Hi Greg,
So a new Spider-Man series was announced yesterday at the New York Comic Con. Are you taking part in this project in any way? If your not, is there any way you could get aboard it because that would be spectacular.
Thank you so much for your time.

Greg responds...

No. And no. I'm busy on Young Justice S3, and in any case, Marvel would have to want me on it. They certainly know how to find me. There's clearly no interest in putting me and the character back together at this time.

Dear Mr Weisman,
I would like to thank you for all the great work you have done in past, and I look foward, as I'm sure many of us do, to seeing it being continued. I would like to, in my question, both ask, as well as show my support and desire for a continuation of the Young Justice series. I really hope that the series will be continued, as many of us do - the statistics around the reception of the show speak for themselves. My question, is as follows:
Why (and I personally belive that this is one of the many reasons why it was so good) did the team behind The Team choose to introduce a heavy emphasis on the interpersonal relationships and the back story's of each character?
Thank you for considering my question,
Kind regards, a loyal fan of Young Justice

Greg responds...

Well, as you probably know by now, we're at work on Season Three.

But I'll admit to being a bit mystified by your question. What else would we deal with INSTEAD of "the interpersonal relationships and the back story's of each character"?

I feel like this question is more headed towards other people who want young justice back instead of Greg but I will put it here anyway.
Those of you who want YJ back we really have start a big push if we really want it to happen. We actually want it to come back so not doing anything won't help. We cannot just let this show go this is one of the very few opportunities we can save a show. Keep binging it on netflix, buy the products, and get the comics from comicology.com. Come on we half to make this happen guys so do whatever you can!

Greg responds...

It's COMIXOLOGY with an X, but otherwise - back in September - I'd have totally agreed with you. And it worked! Brandon Vietti and I are working on the arc for the third season now!
