Mr. Wiesman,

I would like to first preface my question with saying that I truly admire both you and Brandon Vietti. What you and Brandon have created in Earth 16 has been truly fantastic and the first 2 seasons of Young Justice are the best two seasons of any DC show in my book. And as an aspiring writer, your work on both YJ and Spectacular Spider-Man have been very influential to me.

Now, my question has to do with the Nightwing arc of season 4. To me, this arc didn't feel very focused on Nightwing at all. I was hoping for something akin to the Artemis' arc, where we got to really get inside her character and her trauma. I personally couldn't find any attempt to get inside Dick's character with the last five episodes.

Now instead of throwing a bunch of criticisms or anything like that, I just want to ask what your intentions for him in that arc were? Is it just much more subtle and I wasn't able to pick it up or did you not attempt to do any character development with him in the arc?
I very much appreciate you taking the time to answer my question and I hope you have a good day! Hope to see the show renewed for season 5!

Mr Fan and Mr Disappointed Repost writes...

-Just adding one paragraph in response to the last Greg's post-

Hi Greg ! REALLY hope you'll see this post or somebody will bring it to your attention, because it wouldn't make much sense that you read it in one year. Maybe Marvelman (which discussed about it with me at the time) can signal it to you on twitter, since I don't have it. (Thank you if you do it).

First, I want to apologize about being so vindictive in my criticism, I reacted directly after seeing the episode, and I was really mad. Not mad at you, just sooo frustrated that Zatanna (one of my favs characters ever) got less screentime and focus than prayers and religious talking.
I guess I wasn't expecting that. Hard to believe, though, that Artemis got complains about her little screentime, since you developed her family story and character, with her sister, father, flash-backs and so on... Artemis'arc was really about Artemis, but I guess you'll always have complains anyway.
And to be very clear, even if I could, I will still not try to prevent you from saying this or talking about that or that. That's YOUR show, and I understand very well that a writer's first duty is to follow his own mind without listening to other people around him. Or else, you're doing marketing.
So, even if, say, you've chosen to talk about religion all season 5 long (providing there will be one), I'll be sad and mad and disappointed and so on, but I prefer this than deciding for you.
Just to be clear. I'll never tell you you've done wrong. You do what you wanna do, and I like it or not. Period.

As for using the ''Jehovah's Witnesses as some kind of ultimate example of cultish religious extremism '' I would answer you that when you refuse (and I have witnessed that) a blood transfusion for your kid when he/her is about to die, and in case the doctors still want to save him and do the transfusion you ABANDON your own child... I mean, just an example, all right, and I could find many more, What do you call extremism then ? But I didn't say they were the worst out there, that was just an example of atrocious religious brain-washing. And again, I don't target religious people, only religion. Religious people are mainly victims. Objectively, that's the number one source of atrocities in the world today.

If you wanna talk about faith, you can do that outside of religion. It's not only religious faith out there ! I'm an agnostic, and I have some kind of faith about the universe. Don't know how to describe it, but I'm feeling something. Everybody has faith, in his own way. Being agnostic or even atheist doesn't mean you don't think there's an afterlife or a higher power. There are other possibilities than the VERY silly ones proposed by religion. Because, yes, religion is silly. I'm not saying they're wrong, but they're silly. Because, if they're not silly, nothing is. The word ''silly'' exists to designate something. And what could be more silly than saying God has a kid, or judaism (you must be aware of that) spreads through the blood of the mother ?

In fact, when you say it would be difficult to include atheists in the show, I think nothing is more wrong than that. All an atheist must do to be right is to prove the religions are wrong. And you, have definitely proved religious claims to be wrong in earth16.
Huh ?
Yes, because let's take Vandal Savage, for instance. He's 50000 years old, and religions are saying the world is 6000 years old. So Vandal is a living proof that contradicts religions (the main ones at least). And it's not because the soul exists in your world that this proves religions to be right. Anyway, that would be too long to discuss, I've already made a more detailed post about it under my other name ''Paladin''.
Religions are inconsistent anyway, given that every religious textbook is contradicting itself at some point. Which religious people will never admit, but anyway...
An atheist is perfectly ready to accept anything that comes his way, as long as there is proof. He doesn't make unfounded claims like religious people do. So he can very well accept demons and new gods and stuff. And an agnostic is even more tolerant, because he's just saying he doesn't know. So that the humblest position you could have.

When you say this is a story about people and not superheros, well, it isn't. You choose to use DC characters and you have a responsibility with them. If you want to make a character LGBT or else, you can create your own and there will be no problem. But when you use characters that people loved for decades, you can't do whatever you want with them. If somebody was making Mickey Mouse gay or muslim, that would ruin my childhood and it's not because I hate gays or muslims.

As for Khalid, I don't think you can compare his presence to Zatara's because he's been introduced especially for this episode, and Zatara is a long time season 1 character. But anyway, not important.

I would have much more to say, and I'm sure you would too, but I guess this is already taking too long.
SO, at last, I'm sorry if I sounded obnoxious or anything else, I didn't mean to, I acted on impulse because I DO LOVE that show so much, and I thank you and Brandon for bringing those wonderful stories to us. Hope you'll do great, and good luck for everything !

Sorry to re-post this, it feels like I'm spamming the queue, but this is not intended to be answered in one year so moderators can delete that post and the old one when you come to it.

Hello Greg! Much love from Turkey and thank you all for another wonderful season!

Im quite happy that Black Canary mentioned 'Sacntuary' cause i loved the story around Beast Boy this season and would like to see more. Maybe Jason could end up there? I remember he and Damian were teased but i cant remember if it lead to anything so far.

Given the record track of you guys recreating 'weaker' comic stories gives me even more hope for Heroes in Crisis with the Sanctuary.

Hi Greg, I was just wondering how old is Kara Zor-El by 2020? why did Conner get a buzz cut, by the end of Season 4? Do the workers of the Erdel Initiative know that Em’ree (now M’ree) is a Martian, or does she shift into a more human form? And do Jim and Mal share the mantle of Guardian? The finale was great, and I hope we get a Season 5

Hi,
just was wondering, what is Dinah's relationship with Ollie after their seeming falling out in season 3. They were eyeing each other in the season 3 finale from what I could see and about the same in season 4 finale, with Ollie seeming more annoyed this time, but that's about it. What about Kaldur who blindsided her even more by pretending to be its victim?

Just say the word." Can't speak for other religions but yes exclude islam. By the way the finale was amazing!

Well, of all the exciting things in today's finale, we finally got confirmation that Orphan is B-36 (according to your subtitles), implying that Ed and Vic did indeed get B-designations before the Outsiders switched over to the D-designations in February 2019. Since B-34 and B-35 would presumably be defunct now, I was wondering if you'd be willing to confirm my suspicions, as you've previously been okay with confirming defunct designations.

Regardless, terrific season and I'm hoping for more! You, Brandon, and all the other wonderful people involved really brought your A-game and I can't thank you enough for these twenty-six episodes. I look forward to TARGETS. I hope you have a nice day!

this a repost of my original rant with evidences

This is a response to episode 23 of phantoms: There are no boyfriends and girlfriend in Islam. People literally have been punished for their deviance of pre martial relationship and sometimes even executed based on the magnitude of the crime. So when you showcase their "relationship" you're mocking our belief. Ironic isn't when you talk about respecting beliefs. There are no muslim theys or whatever goofy nonsense liberals like to come up with.
"And by Him Who created male and female;" Quran 92:3. This verse refutes theys, xi and whatever goofy nonsense liberals come up with. Originally I was going to bat an eye to this issue but you guys just wanted to milk this lgbtq non binary woke nonsense and had to go involve islam with that which in return made me get involved in this response. Again nobody asked for "Muslim representations" but you just had to meddle with forces beyond your grips of understanding. If it does get renewed for a 5th season I probably won't watch it if you involve Islam. Again nobody asked you to represent Muslims but sir you just had to go there. This is what Hollywood doesn't understand. Just basic things. I guessing your "Muslim" writers and actor don't understand basic rulings of Islam otherwise they wouldn't be in this industry

In islam there are no lgbtqrswyxz. this is stepping towards kufr. The prophet said to kill the man who imitates women and vice versa. We can't even support them. These are the daleels (evidence) from the quran and sunnnah that refutes lgbtq.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Surah Al A'raf 7:80-84

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet said: If you find anyone doing as Lot's people did, kill the one who does it, and the one to whom it is done.

â€" Sunan Abu Dawood, 38:4447, Al-Tirmidhi, 15:1456, Ibn Maajah, 20:2561

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: If a man who is not married is seized committing sodomy he will be stoned to death.

â€" Sunan Abu Dawood, 38:4448

Imam Ahmed

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbaas said: "The Prophet said: "... cursed is the one who does the action of the people of Lot."

â€" Musnad Ahmad:1878

Ahmad narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Prophet of Allah said: "May Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Lot, may Allah curse the one who does the action of the people of Lot," three times.

â€" Musnad Ahmad: 2915

It was narrated that Jabir: "The Prophet said: 'There is nothing I fear for my followers more than the deed of the people of Lot.'"

â€" Al-Tirmidhi: 1457, Ibn Maajah: 2563

Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas: The Prophet cursed effeminate men; those men who are in the similitude (assume the manners of women) and those women who assume the manners of men, and he said, "Turn them out of your houses." The Prophet turned out such-and-such man, and 'Umar turned out such-and-such woman.

â€" Sahih al-Bukhari, 7:72:774

Homosexuality and transgendering in Islam
Know the seriously dangerous health diseases

Whether it is among men or women, is one of the most abhorrent of immoral and evil actions that a person may commit, and is one of the most shameful deeds in this world and in the hereafter.

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) cursed effeminate men and masculinised women and said: “Expel them from your houses.”

Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5436

That is, men who imitate women in appearance, clothing, using henna, voice, speech and all their movements. Such actions are prohibited because it comes under the heading of changing the creation of Allah.

This is something changing the very nature of men and women whom Allaah created with perfection

In fact, even if this sinner was not your brother or you did not have any authority over him, your duty would still be to strive by all possible means to remove this evil that you see and prevent him from doing it, and to advise him for the sake of Allah and warn him of Allah’s punishment.

Abu Sa‘eed al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) say: “Whoever among you sees an evil action, then let him change it with his hand [by taking action]; if he cannot, then with his tongue [by speaking out]; and if he cannot, then with his heart â€" and that is the weakest of faith.”

Saheeh Muslim 70

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“So when Our Commandment came, We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, in a well-arranged manner one after another; Marked from your Lord” [Hood 11:82-83].

Dr Mahmoud al-Hijaazi said in his book al-Amraad al-Jinsiyyah wa’l-Tanaasuliyyah (Sexual and genital diseases), when discussing some of the dangers to health caused by committing sodomy:

narrated from Khaalid ibn al-Waleed that he found a man among one of the Arab tribes with whom men would have intercourse as with a woman.
He wrote to Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq (may Allaah be pleased with him) and Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq consulted the Sahaabah (may Allaah be pleased with them).
‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib had the strongest opinion of all of them, and he said: “No one did that but one of the nations, and you know what Allaah did to them. I think that he should be burned with fire.” So Abu Bakr wrote to Khaalid and he had him burned.

Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas said: The highest point in the town should be found and the homosexual should be thrown head first from it, then stones should be thrown at him.

Ibn ‘Abbaas is the one who narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) the words:
“Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.” This was narrated by the authors of al-Sunan and was classed as saheeh by Ibn Hibbaan and others. Imam Ahmad quoted this hadeeth as evidence, and its isnaad meets the conditions of al-Bukhaari.

They said: and it is narrated that he said: “May Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot, may Allaah curse the one who does the action of the people of Loot,” and it is not narrated that he cursed the adulterer three times in one hadeeth.
He cursed those who do a variety of major sins, but he did not curse any of them more than once, but he repeated the curse for the homosexual three times.

The companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) agreed unanimously that the homosexual is to be executed, and none of them differed concerning that

Hi Mr. Greg, two questions I’ve wanted to ask since season 4 started:

1) What made you and your team decide to do mini season spanning story arcs for characters like Beast Boy, Halo, and Superman (to a lesser extent)? I loved the individual core Team character arcs but these other arcs felt just as exciting to watch each week.

2) I’m sure you’ve been asked this before but how easy is it to write for these characters? All of them feel fleshed out and heroes and villains alike feel relatable in their own ways. I’m going to guess it’s easy because every episode I watch is so good and seems like you and the team are having lots of fun telling these stories.

Also thanks for making an all inclusive show, that tells fun and nuanced stories that just happens to have superheroes in it. Hope you all have many more seasons.

We know that a long time ago, for the comics, you had planned to do a story focusing on the Shazam family of characters. If given the option to would you still make it, or do you think you're past it now? Overall would you want to go back to tell stories from earlier in the timeline or are you only focused on future stories?
