Alas, the voice of Spaceghost passed away yesterday.

It was a sad day for cartoon fans and 70s/80s/90s nostalgiasts alike.

Gargoyles need not apply.

Any "Gathering" ideas being tossed around for 2015?

DM: There was one last summer in Minosota and Greg finished the Gargoyles 20th anniversary tour just a while ago. I don't think it will be long before another outing, we've been on a roll.

I recall Greg saying once that the main Gargoyles series would end in 2198. At which point, of course, Gargoyles: 2198 would start up.

Hi yards everyone! I have a question, Is there a chance to have a comeback of the gathering of the gargoyles? If so it would be nice to have it again.
DM

GV: There is no completion to Gargoyles, it's an open-ended series. The comics filled up as much story as it made room for more to follow. It's a style that would be considered old-school now. Today, most comics, TV shows like having beginnings wth set endings but Greg Weisman is an old-school kind of boy--especially with cell phones but you didn't hear that from me.

Good luck and godspeed Todd. And GV, welcome to the comment room, we're kinda informal around here mostly we talk about Gargoyles or some of Greg's other projects or whatever may pop into our heads. Sometimes Greg himself pops in with a comment of his own and other times the whole week goes by with barely any word said between us. Every week's a surprise.

A mortally wounded count down this week. Well I guess nothing lasts forever.

Todd, I hope your move goes well and you enjoy your new locale. I'll keep the St Louis branch of the fandom going. Good luck!

Interesting change of tradition, only counting to eight. I guess the comment room is a bit more active than it usually is at this time of the week.

Safe travels Todd!

And just so you know (as the name might give away, lol), Phoenix is my hometown. d: So whenever you get settled into your new place, I hope to have the chance to properly welcome you to the Valley of the Sun :D

I should have mentioned this earlier, but....

I'm moving this week (Thursday, in fact) from St. Louis to Phoenix, Arizona. I'll have to switch Internet providers in the process, so I might not be back for a few days, depending on how long it takes me to install and adjust to the new Internet access system. At least my new home will have "Gargoyles" connotations - Arizona because of "Cloud Fathers" (though that was at Flagstaff), and Phoenix because of the mythical bird. (I wonder if Brooklyn's Timedancing ever brought him to Arizona, and especially that part of it.)

Eight!

"Seasons" are pretty hard to define and measure, but I guess the canon (or canon-in-training, as the case may be) could be divided into Season 1, Season 2, Clan Building, Bad Guys, Pendragon, TimeDancer, The New Olympians, Dark Ages, and Gargoyles 2198.

At least, that's what TvTropes says. So far, other than a few references in Season 2 and Clan Building, nothing from Pendragon to Gargoyles 2198 has been published.

And I'm pretty sure that there's going to be more to Bad Guys than just the five chapters that have been published so far.

7th.

@GV, Welcome to the Comment Room! Every Monday it's customary to do a top 10 count "down" starting from 1 which is currently happening as you can see. (Please feel free to see more examples in previous weeks by checking the Comment Room archive: http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/comment/archive/).

The comics did a great job of giving us more stories, and while I appreciate what we were given, it left me wanting more. Greg has so many more stories to tell and if you look at the timeline on the GargWiki, you'll see what I mean. http://gargwiki.net/Timeline

With that said, it's very difficult to put a number of "complete"-ness on the series. We have had 3 seasons at varying lengths of episodes. If Greg could tell the rest of the story up to the year 2198 in 7 more seasons, then I would say the series is 1/3 complete.

Again, welcome to the room, I'm sure someone will offer you imaginary cookies soon. There is also a lot of good information in the questions that Greg has already answered, so feel free to check those out. http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/archives.php

Hi guys, I'm a newcomer to the Gargoyles series!

I (re)discovered this franchise through the Nostalgia Critic, and while I was collecting the old episodes and comics I also stumbled upon this Site and the Wiki to gather some more information.

From what I gathered the series was kind of left unfinished after the second season, and the third season is not considered canonical. However it seems that the Comics eventually gave the story a decent conclusion. You older fans probably know more about what Greg originally planned for the series and what actually made it through, so I wanted to ask...

Compared to what Greg's ideas were, how much "complete" the actual Gargoyles saga is, in your opinion? The main ideas for the plot, the Universe and the characters were realized, at least in part, or did we lost that much? Did the Comics effectively gave a good conclusion to the series?

As a newcomer I wanted to know how the rest of the fandom felt about the series in its entirety. Feel free to give spoilers, I don't mind them. :)
