is young justice ever gonna come back

If they're as isolationist as I expect, they were probably concerned that the island would be exposed. And given their origins, I'd bet that they were a bit surprised that gargoyles existed outside the island at all.

All that said, I wonder how quickly they even heard about it. It seems they are pretty isolated from the Olympians. I didn't get the impression (either in the episode or in Greg's responses since) that there is all that much contact between the groups.

"For science, which, as my associate Fang indicated, must move ever forward. Plus there's the money... and I do love the drama!" - Sevarius, "Louse"

Anyone else curious as to what the New Olympian Clan's response was to finding out that other Gargoyles visited New Olympus? What do you think their response was?

Puck in that quote conveniently overlooks the fact that he helped cause it by being unable to tell Lysander and Demetrius apart (though Oberon does suspect at one point that he did it on purpose).

I require some advice.

Below is the direction I will be taking my multi-part TMNT/Gargoyles AU fanfiction in -
Splinter faces off in a dual with Shredder, to save the other heroes, Shredder loses and is badly wounded he becomes the cybernetic, mutant Cyber Shredder (whose superhuman abilities are fueled by a fraction of the immensely powerful Fire Star) as a result. This causes Shredder to lose his slender grip on sanity and eventually become a world ruling tyrant.

Meanwhile Dr. Sevarius uses the temporary imprisonment of the heroes to study their genetic makeups. This leads to the creation of gargoyles clones such as Thailog and his 'Clan' later on. Also the idea for creating the first batch of mutates (e.g. Talon & Maggie), in this AU more advanced mutants using genetic material of multiple animals plus a human host, is first hatched by Dr. Sevarius and approved by Krang once the heroes break free.

Time travel, via the Phoenix Gate, will be introduced to the over all series during the next few episodes. The freedom fighters from the future who are struggling against Cyber Shredder, his right hand servant Dr. Svarius and their army of minions in a bleak, post apocalyptic future will come back in time in an attempt to change things. I may also uses Tony Dracon and his cyberized, mutated men as a hit squad Dr. Svarius creates to destroy some of the more powerful freedom fighters in the future. I'm thinking the heroes come from twenty to forty, most likely twenty, years in the future after Cyber Shredder takes over the World in mid-1997 (got the date from the Terminator series lol) it is currently mid-1995 story universe time my story in many ways being a continuation of the 1987 TMNT series.

My questions are -

1.) I know many detest post apocalyptic fanfiction. Is there anyway I can minimize the backlash? For example is there any clichés I can avoid that really pushes peoples' buttons?

2.) This will be my first story dealing with future tense time travel. Any suggestions how I should handle this to minimize issues such as reader confusion?

3.) Any observations, ideas or comments in general that you've had after reading my general plot outline would be most helpful.
The latest issue of the magazine "Discover Britain" arrived in my mailbox today, and included a list of top ten Shakespeare attractions (such as Stratford, the rebuilt Globe Theatre, and the Forest of Arden). One of them was the "Macbeth Trail" in Scotland; this apparently isn't an official trail, but a list of the places associated with Macbeth. Glamis Castle and Cawdor Castle (both of which were actually built long after Macbeth's reign) feature on it, as does the village of Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire, where Macbeth was killed in actual history (the original of Lunfanan Hill, where Macbeth and Gruoch temporarily break up in "City of Stone Part Two" and where Canmore stabs Macbeth in the back while he's remonstrating with Demona in "City of Stone Part Four"); according to the article, there's a stone marking the site of Macbeth's death, and a hotel named "Lumphanan's MacBeth [sic] Arms Hotel". It also mentioned the historical Macbeth's pilgrimage to Rome in 1050.

This would certainly be inspirational for "Gargoyles" fans planning to visit Scotland soon, as well as Shakespeare fans.

"What point of morals, of manners, of economy, of philosophy, of religion, of taste, of the conduct of life, has he not settled? What mystery has he not signified his knowledge of? What office, or function, or district of man's work, has he not remembered? What king has he not taught state, as Talma taught Napoleon? What maiden has not found him finer than her delicacy? What lover has he not outloved? What sage has he not outseen? What gentleman has he not instructed in the rudeness of his behavior?"

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

TODD> Now I really want someone to make that.

Well, I don't know if I count as an actual "Madoka" fan, since I've never seen the anime. I've read about it, though - enough that I couldn't resist once writing a little sillyfic based on it with Kyubey doing an infomercial-style promo to attract more potential magical girls - in the middle of which, Homura comes in, shoots him, then delivers a warning about all the drawbacks of being a magical girl in the manner of one of those "Side effects include...." disclaimers you see in medical commercials; a new Kyubey (who's just shown up and eaten the remains of his previous self, as per the anime) breaks back in to say "So call this number, 1-800-" - Homura this time shoots the camera, turning the infomercial to a blank screen.

At least I can take comfort in knowing that while I may have gone overboard, I've gone nowhere near as overboard as Masterdramon. :)

For the record, mine are the Weisman properties, the two Avatar series, Avengers:EMH, Gravity Falls, Animorphs, Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus, Marvel, Legend of Zelda, Kirby, and Pokémon (by species, not episode, of course).

TODD> YAY! Another Madoka fan! :D

Todd: Heh heh. Yeah, I went a little overboard there on an anime kick due to Greg B. mentioning "Stray Dog Strut."

Respectively, those are the third episodes/entries in Gargoyles, W.I.T.C.H., The Spectacular Spider-Man, Young Justice, Doctor Who, Harry Potter, Cowboy Bebop, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fullmetal Alchemist (2003), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Code Geass, Berserk, Trigun, Chobits, Ouran High School Host Club, and the show I'm currently making my way through, "Baccano!"

Again...fun. :)

I'm going to have to look up a lot of those episode titles. Some I recognized ("Gargoyles", "W.I.T.C.H.", "The Spectacular Spider-Man", "Young Justice" - plus the actors who've played the Doctor, the Percy Jackson series, and the "Madoka" anime, among others), but a few were new to me.

Here's the problem with most fanfic writers: they seem to think Dominique is a second life. It isn't. Demona spelled it plainly in "High Noon." She's a gargoyle. Dominique is just a tool to help her in her goals. She'll use the form because she changes into a human, whether she likes it or not, but Dominique is not another life for her.

First? Really?

UH...PRIMUS, WILLIAM HARTNELL, AWAKENINGS, SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!

Think I went overboard there...
