Ok, I'll be doing an episode by episode post on my thoughts on the new season. Apologies for the length and possibly the double posts.

S3 ep1-Princes All
Hoo boy do they not waste any time showing that this season will be darker now that they're not shackled to CN's standards. While it wouldn't call it as needlessly dark as the New 52 animated films, watching a scared young girl get kidnapped, transformed into a weapon and accidentally killed is heart-wrenching.
But most importantly we're introduced to the new status quo, Lex Luthor has used the trafficking of meta-humans as an excuse to cripple the League. And while it's cool to see Kaldur take on the role of Aquaman, I can't help but feel he's taken the title of captain on a sinking ship. I also can't help but feel there's some political commentary going on with Markovia opening themselves up to Quraci refugees. It reminds me of the current instability with our own Middle East.
And while it's sad that Artemis is still grieving Wally's disappearance, it's nice to see that M'Gann has made peace with her White Martian self judging by her new appearance and she and Conner have patched up their relationship and now are engaged, let's hope something doesn't come around and spoil it. As is so often the case in comics.
"Young Justice" didn't grab me as much as "Gargoyles" did (largely because of my genre preferences), but I rather enjoyed it. One aspect of it I still admire is that, even though I'm not that familiar with DC Comics, I still got the basics of who the characters were. Many of them I'd never heard of before, but the series supplied just enough information that I understood the essentials. (Greg Weisman displayed that ability again in his Warcraft books; I'm not familiar with "World of Warcraft", either, but I was still able to figure out who the different characters were - and anything about them that seemed mysterious was clearly meant to be.)

I tried Young Justice, I watched all of the first two seasons, and I just didn't really care. I didn't dislike it, but I think there were just too many characters for me to latch onto any one of them. It stinks because I loved Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles is probably my favorite show of all time, but the only Greg Weisman show I didn't love is the one that gets a third season.

Well the prequel comic has officially dropped, it's a two-parter called "Torch Song."
The comic itself is a fun little outing, no huge revelations or shocking twists or deaths. Just Conner and M'Gann trying to patch up their relationship, albeit taking place in a "Trapped in TV Land" plot, which is something I would've never guessed for this universe. A side note, it's always nice to see M'Gann and Gar's brother and sister relationship. The two of them are really sweet together.
SOME GEEK - Chapters THree and Four of the "Bad Guys" comic book were set on New Year's Eve, and even involved Sevarius planning to turn the crowd gathered in Time Square to see the ball drop into Mutates. (A bit of a cliche, but this *is* Sevarius we're talking about.)

this weekhad New Year’s Eve. I think we used up our math and counting quota for the week by counting down for the ball. Rather than counting up for this :)

Random thought,no gargoyles episode was dated dec 31 or Jan 1, was there?

Nothing like opening at the perfect number of the count to begin a new year.

May everyone's 2019 be enjoyable...and not JUST because of YJO.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

Happy New Year!

A happy 2019 and FIFTH.

I did manage to get a DC Universe membership and have been enjoying the YJ commentaries with Greg Weisman, Brandon Vietti, and Phil Bourassa (and the smattering of voice actors depending on the episode).

Looking forward to season three (and the prequel comic), but first I do need to finish rewatching seasons one and two.

Took a moment today to look at old trailers for the early seasons -- the teaser for Invasion, man, that was back in 2012. Definitely worth the wait though d:

I’m really excited for YJ!!!!!!!!! but don’t have that service. :-(. So I will be waiting for the blue ray release as a day 1 purchase

While I don't have a DC Universe account, have no plans to get one, and will therefore be likely to sit out all "Young Justice" discussions here, I'm in favor of having them - with the spoiler tags for the benefit of those who haven't seen the episodes yet but mean to. We certainly need something to keep this comment room more than just a "Top Ten" count that hardly ever even seems to reach "ten".

(2nd)Second but always first over all!!

Deplorable and loving it!

To start things off, the new season of Young Justice premieres this week (as well as the new tie-in comic) well I'm sure I'm not the only one who will want to talk about the new episodes (three per week).

So for those who don't have a DC Universe account yet and don't want to be spoiled, I propose that those of us that have seen and read it keep discussions in SPOILER mode for the time being. Sound fair or does anyone have an another idea?
