Elisa: Always nice to meet a fan, but I'm afraid I just can't keep quiet about this. Please don't assume that we're all hippies, especially when hippies are my mortal enemies. Other than that, welcome to the machine. ( ;

"The truth is written all along the page. How old will I be before I come of age? I get up, I get down..." -Yes ("Close to the Edge")

GUANDALUG - That was the missing Avalon World Tour story that Greg Weisman was going to write for the Marvel Gargoyles comic before it folded. All that we know was that they would have met Coldstone there (and the opening of "Possession" with Xanatos having a run-in with Coldstone in the Himalayas was a backdoor reference to it).

Gargoyles - did for monstrous-looking statues what "Watership Down" did for rabbits!

Reading through the dates Greg W. provided in his latest answer (and adding them to the 'World Tour Chart' on the GFW), I stumbled over an entry. Between Arizona (Cloud Fathers) and the final visit to Avalon (Ill met by Moonlight), Greg said they would have visited Tibet. Now - what did they do there? Why don't WE know about that? :)

It has been said that the world is a strange place. This is not true. The world is a VERY strange place.

Spen> There are any number of ways.

1. Find a chat room and subtly (or not. It's up to you.) bring up Gargoyles DVDs.

2. Start your own Gargoyles chat room!

3. Make a website devoted to the Gargs DVDs.

I LOVE GARGOYLES!!!!!! Please, don't cancel the dvds! ( i'm too young to die....) Okay, PEOPLE OF THE MOST AWESOME AND HOLY CHATROOM HELP SAVE THE GARGOYLES!!! THEY DEPEND ON US! Don't you see? We loving and adoring fans are their only hope for survival. I fell in love with this series and i am NOT about to let it go down the drain! all i need is for all of you to get a MILLION other clueless hippies to buy Gargoles. The Disney company is not going to sell other seasons if people don't buy enough of the first two...and a half.! So HELP me "advertise" and keep the gargoyles in the spot-light!! I'm talking about a show that is heart touching to me!! And to you! So pleeease throw campains and marches or whatever! Just help bring 'em back! ( This is gonna be awesome! AND WORTH IT! ^_^)

Question received on Wed, June 13, 2001 03:46:19 PM
Sloth writes...
Did Goliath, elisa, Angela & Bronx return to Avolon in between every world tour episode? If so was it just to go there and quickly leave, or did they have more adventures there? And when they leave do they just sail into the mist and land where ever Avolon wants?

Greg responds...
Yes.

Sometimes it was quick and leave. Sometimes they stayed longer. Sometimes they arrived at sunrise and HAD to stay.

Yes.

Please, do me a favor and number your questions in the future.

Rob(the Sloth)Irwin writes...
Fine, I guess I'll keep writing while everything is fresh in my mind. The questions are fading quickly so I'll get right to it.

1.Did Arther Pendragon have any adventures in the time before Avolon sent him to London in the skiff? It dosn't seem to fit that Goliath had been all around the world by the time it took Arther to get from Avolon to London.

2.If #1's answer is yes, will you tell me what thoese adventures were?

Thanks Greg.

Greg responds...
1. Yes, very astute. Arthur had one untold adventure after leaving Avalon. He then returned to Avalon. Considered staying there. Then decided to leave again and landed in London.

2. Yeah, right.

I got a theory about that "4 month gap": unknown world tour stops. Honestly, I was expecting a bigger gap after "Sentinel", about a month (or 24 hours Avalon time). I was expecting that gap to give Elisa plenty of time to fully recover her memories.

The bigger question in my mind becomes accounting for King Arthur's time. Even if we assume "Pendragon" occurs around the time of "Eye of the Storm", it leaves us with King Arthur spending ~ 3.5 days on Avalon.

These revelations do fill in a pretty good amount of the timeline. Too bad we couldn't get parts of the timeline released in the comic book issues, mainly the events that we do know about that.

Whatever happenned to simplicity?

Or maybe the demand just exceeded the supply. Which would explain why I'm still waiting for amazon to ship my DVD of "Simpsons, Season 8."

Patrick: I'd like to think that the shoe-tying is accomplished through some outlandish Rube Goldberg method that fills most of her living room. Or maybe she trained Cagney to do it. No, wait. Cats don't have opposable thumbs. Or do they? He could do it if Sevarius captured him and spliced some gorilla DNA into him. Or maybe Elisa has a gorilla in her closet that does it for her. Well, I'm out of ideas. Anyone else?

Disney is a publically traded company. They have one goal, and it's the same goal that's shared by every company in a capitalist society: to make as much money as possible. Any conjectures regarding the way they manage their intellectual properties that would imply a conflict with this primary goal are most likely incorrect. No legitimate company is going to invest the time and money to create a product and then scheme how to make it fail.

Now, can we get back to discussing the important issues regarding the comic? Like how the new and improved Elisa can see to tie her shoes? :P

307 days until The Gathering 2007 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee!

Patrick - [<-- The Gathering 2007]

This is a tongue-in-cheek comment, I'd like to make clear, but here's a possible "theory" as to why Disney would want "Gargoyles" to fail - a feeling of embarrassment that they wound up making something as un-Disney-ish as a dark and violent action cartoon whose main characters were living gargoyles (and not comedic ones like the ones in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame"). They regard it the way that a good kid would regard a time in his/her life when he/she gave into peer pressure and began acting like the popular-but-shallow kids in his/her class, then suddenly woke up and cried in horror "What am I doing? This isn't me!" So they view "Gargoyles" with shame. (And, of course, the problem with this theory is that it doesn't explain why they'd come out with the DVDs or let Slave Labor Graphics come out with the comic, unless it was for the purpose of appeasing the numerous fans, while still hoping to handle the revival project in such a way that it would fail and they could then use it to justify their decision to the fans to keep "Gargoyles" in the vault permanently.)
Todd Jensen

Yeah, there are some compelling gaps of time in the World Tour dates. I suppose they took a couple short breaks on Avalon or something. Also, I'm happy to see Tibet is listed.

comic issues: I had order Gargoyle from SLG on july 6th and still didn't get the comic When I had contacted them this week they had told me that it was shipped out july 10th and since I didn't get it they'll send out another one but wait....they are out of stock so I got refunded my money and they'll send me out a copy when they print more.Lucky for me I had ordered another comic but through amazon. I had got it in 5 days. It seems like anything involving Gargoyles always end up with some type of problem, it's as if Disney don't want Gargoyles to suceed, and if you offer to help Disney would want to sue you for copyright issues or something, Sometimes I just wonder about them....
kjay - [tigonesskay@yahoo.com]

Hmmmm, interesting. Is there a reason there was a noticable gap between Ireland and Australia?

And by the looks of things, they'd been gone for about a week before Broadway picked Cagney up from Elisa's apartment. Damn, that cat must have been ravenous.

"So leave me now, the moon is up, but remember the tales I tell. The memories that you have dredged up are a message forwarded from hell." -The only band that really matters.

Awesome to get some stuff on the timeline. It raises more questions than it answers though. The biggie: why is there a 4 month gap between "The Hound of Ulster" and "Walkabout"? There are also gaps after "Heritage" (but enough that they might just have spent the day on Avalon) and "The Green" (but that has an in-episode explanation). I'm surprised the events of "Avalon" Part 2 & 3 only lasted 3 hours. You'd think Goliath would want to get to know his kids a bit better before shooting off.

Kythera: True. I guess we'll see how #2 goes. At the end of the day, we've waited 10 years so waiting for a few months isn't the end of the world.

Ed

Todd - <"Greedy, much?"> I noticed.

I want to thank Greg Weisman for answering that question.

As usual, that answer leaves a few extra questions. One new thing is it repins down an earliest date for when King Arthur arrived in Manhattan. We now know that "Pendragon" has to occur after May 16.

I assume Tibet is where Coldstone was found in Possession?

A belated RIP for Tony Jay. "Grief" was an episode I watched recently during an informal "Gargoyles marathon" with some friends (we all have the DVDs so we viewed old VHS tapes of episodes that we hope to see in S2V2). The man had an awesome voice.

I have to admit I like the idea of a central place to go to find out what's happenning in the gargoyles fandom. That's the point of the gnc to me. Other people going out putting information together in one location.

Guandalug la'Fay - I just sent you an email with the email address of the keeper of the gnc.
I noticed my timeline question about when various events in the world tour occurred is coming up rapidly. 2nd from being answered right now.

Ed-- Keep in mind, the first print run SOLD OUT. That may have contributed to Amazon and other online order distribution problems.
Kythera of Anevern
I do not suffer fools, gladly or otherwise.

I'd like to see the comic released monthly, but my main concern is how difficult it is to get hold of the things.

I ordered one from Amazon in June and only just got a confirmation a couple of days ago that it's been dispatched. 8 weeks plus however many weeks it'll be for shipping. When I heard that Amazon was supposed to have a bad reputation for comics, I ordered one from a UK-based mail order company that was recommended to me. 6 weeks later, still no word. I finally lucked out because a friend of mine picked one up on holiday in the States and I was able to borrow his copy. Doesn't help me out with #2 onward though.

On present evidence, it seems that I have to assume at least 2 months wait for each new issue. That means that after #3 is released, I'll have to basically swear off S8 if I want to be sure of avoiding spoilers because I'll always be an issue behind (and, knowing me, one king-size cliffhanger and I'll crack at least once during those two months).

All this makes it very difficult to encourage people to get into it because I know they're unlikely to be able to get their hands on a copy. But at least, I thought, the UK people are in the same boat. Apparently not because then I found out that several people who I believed were also waiting for the comic had read it long before me... through pirate scans on comic download sites. A real knock-your-head-against-a-brick-wall moment.

Still, hopefully once my copies arrive I'll have a spare to show to 'hook' people. And if SLG does release the series in TPB or hardcover form, that will make it easier to hook people. I know my library does TPBs and I and a few other people I know only really get comics in those forms. Plus, there'll be whole stories and the deadline issues won't be so severe because there's not the expectation of another issue to be released.

Perhaps there's been some teething problems with the first issue which are exascerbating the delays, I don't know. But unless something changes it does seem that following the comic on an issue-by-issue basis, let alone trying to spread the word, is going to be a frustrating business.

Ed

I just noticed that somehow, the domain dragonmists.org (which used to host the GNC) has vanished (or rather, is now in the hands of a domain reseller). Now, I have to admit that I lack the email address of whoever was responsible for the GNC, so I'm offering this over the CR:

The GNC can be included on the GFW. This way, there would be one place to browse to (and I can guarantee - the GFW domain will not fall prey to any domain grabber as long as Chris Rogers and Hudson keep an eye on it). If it'll become just a page (or a couple of pages) within the GFW, or a whole subdomain, is up to whoever will manage it - not me, that much I need to say beforehand. I can and will help in setting things up and managing stuff, but I won't be the one managing GNC (I'd rather have the old administration continue the job, just at the new location).

If there's anybody interested in this, contact me via email (or post here, I'm lurking / reading most of the time).

Todd Jensen> Personally speaking, I think it'd be better if the comic could be released on a monthly basis.

****Blaise quietly materializes in the Comment Room. He is dressed in black.****

TONY JAY> The scary thing is, I found myself thinking today about Tony Jay. His distinct voice, his excellent acting ability, his age, and the fact that he wouldn't be around forever. This was brought on by thoughts of a computer game ("Planescape: Torment") in which he plays the "main villain." I remember thinking about the oddity of having his echoes remain behind in sound bites while he himself had passed on. I chastised myself for thinking such gloomy thoughts, of course.
Then I read the Comment Room.
I don't know which makes me sadder: the fact that I will never hear him voice another character again, or the fact that I never got the chance to work with him.
Man, what a voice! I will add two seperate incarnations of Death to the list of his roles: Anubis, of course, and a more comedic Grim Reaper on "Darkwing Duck."

That's all I came to say, really. Until next time, farewell. ****With a swirl of his cloak, Blaise winks out of sight.****

Actually, I think the previw image/second issue cover is really good. In fact, I've kind of lamented the fact that it wasn't the cover to the first issue. Not that I don't like the issue #1 cover. I just think it printed a little dark and doesn't stand out on the shelf as well as the issue #2 cover will. Also, Angela and Brooklyn are both barely in the first issue, despite being on the cover, but I imagine they'll have a lottle more to do in the second one. I imagine that the second issue has already been solicited in Previews, which means that the cover is pretty much set and is probably the image we've been seeing.

Blaqthoure & Crimson Fury: Exactly. Shows you how twisted some minds can be. Also how A certain former Prime Minister kept as a close friend. Despite giving us the Charter of rights & Freedoms (Whit) - which does NOT uphold one's property rights in Canada oddly enough.

Garg comic. I find it odd that we're less than a month away from the next comic and we don't even have a cover to look at. That kind of worries me. I know we saw that shot with Goliath carrying Elisa with the holes in Goliath's wings(Cringe) but that didn't seem much like the cover to me. If it is what they're going to use - they better get Steph to re color that one too.

KingCobra> Sorry, I don't follow. Missed what part?

Battle Beast> Yes, I was joking about the Harvey('s) thing. It was in response to the Tim Horton's bit. I suppose I could have said something like "that chick FaLey". I did make a point of stopping at a Harvey's (and filling up at an Esso) before re-entering the US the last time I drove to Montreal. I was somewhat surprised that the pickles they use are actually cut length-wise like in the ads. I don't think the Kingston border guard believed me when I told him that the purpose of my trip was to catch an Expos game.

From what I understand, if Quebec ever successfully seceded, it would be the end of Canada (BC and Alberta would be right behind, probably seceding and pushing to join the US since they, along with Ontario, would basically be supporting the rest of the provinces; and the Maritime provinces would be completely cut off from the rest of the nation). It's been about a decade since I've been near enough to Canada to get any consistant news.

Wingless> Nice last line: "Cubans will always feel privileged that they, and they alone, had Fidel." I guess that's why they all want to defect.

Blaqthoure & Crimson Fury
"You can't over love your underwear."

That is a good idea Harvester. :)

I don't understand why you need flash for youtube either. :/

Blaqthourne & Crimson Fury, here's the problem with that. I don't OWN my videos. My videos aren't copyrighted. I am using movies/tv shows and music that are owned by other people with big wallets and lawyers the size of Godzilla. I am afraid if I report her, they will just take all MY videos down. But I don't know. I have had ONE of my videos taken down by force, because of Disney. Right when Narnia was coming to DVD, Disney had them take it down. And yet, another Narnia video was allowed of mine. And there were Narnia videos all over YouTube...so why pick on my one video? Because it was obvioiusly a bootleg copy recorded in a movie theater. I had the idea to make the video, but the DVD wasn't out yet, so I downloaded half the movie and made the video. I plan to remake the entire video using DVD quality picture. I'm just nervous if I report her, they will rip my videos down too and ban me. But then I see 100,000s of copyrighted material on there. Heck, entire episodes of TV shows are up there, including Gargoyles. And no one is taking them down. So I dunno.
Also, I contacted the thief's friends and one of them emailed me back saying the girl was on vacation till Sept 18th and is just as mad as I am at her. She promised she would have a long "talk" with her about it, because she is a vid-maker too and can't believe her friend did this, but when I showed her my videos and the date they were uploaded, she knows the truth now and is ticked. So we'll see what happens there. If the videos aren't down by then, I will likely bite the bullet and report her to YouTube

Not a garg related topic, but since we're into a political topic here at the moment and mentioning Pierre Elliott Trudeau - how great (cough) a guy he supposidly was, there was an artical written by one of his Trudeau's sons ALEXANDRE about Fidel Castro I have linked to my name. I suggest if you think Trudeau was such a great person and leader for Canada, this might be an eye opener for you.
Wingless

Speaking from a somewhat Libertarian viewpoint, Pierre Elliot Trudeau sounds like a truly awful Prime Minister. Letting police do whatever they want? Forcing people to give away their money unfairly? Sounds terrible, but whatever its not my country, I guess if Canadians like the guy, thats their issue...

Anyway, St Louis may not have hugely tall skyscrapers, but the Arch is over twice as tall as the Statue of Liberty and I think the fight from The Edge would've been pretty cool centered on the top of the Arch. Of course you could easily say the same for the landmarks of any city, the Space Needle for instance.

Todd> You did what?! (Just kidding).

Blaqthourne & Crimson Fury> HA ha. We don't *Always* fight.

Were you joking about that harvey comment? if not... read on.

Not to stir the pot, but you know how Bush is kind of a "lame duck"? most of our PMs were. The Liberals were the worst theives (since 1993), and some of them, mired in scandals, just waited out their terms. (Paul Martin.) Only a handful of our PMs were truly great people. IN our system, you can become PM without being elected, finishing off someone's term after they retire or step down. So we have a PM for six months and then a new one. Most of our PMs have only lasted a few months.

Our greatest PM was... well, we don't really have a Ronald Reagan or FDR up here... Pierre Elliot Trudeau was a really good PM for Easterners... (I think he was one of our best). He really stepped up against the rest of the world told them not to mess with us. He instituted the "War Measures Act" (War time curfews and police can do what they want dduring peacetime) to stop a terrorist kiddnapping in Quebec. He got our Constitution repratriatod from The United Kingdom. He also brought in the metric system and NEP (National Energy Program). The NEP was basically a way of sharing Albert'a oil wealth with the rest of Canada forceiably.

The NEP gave parts of our resource revanue to the other provinces to make them happy because we were rolling in money. Alberta didn't want to give up it's money, but it was now the law. Since the other provinces had little wealth, they didn't have much to share with us.

Of course, the really big advantage of New York being the main setting for "Gargoyles" is that it has a lot of architectural gargoyles around.

Incidentally, just as yesterday (August 14) was the anniversary of Macbeth's victory over Duncan in 1040, today is the anniversary of Canmore's victory over Macbeth in 1057.

Interesting thoughts, Whit.

I think Todd will second me on thinking a Clan in St. Louis, MO would have been pretty neat. I guess the fight in The Edge would've played out on the top of the Gateway Arch rather than the Statue of Liberty. Cool to think about.

But I think the important thing in Gargoyles terms about the setting being New York is that it is such a multi-cultural place and it is a "city of the world" which made it an excellant launching point for Gargoyles which went on to become such an international series.

In all seriousness, I've kind of wondered how the show would have been different if it had been set in Toronto or Montreal or Vancouver than in New York. I think that one of the biggest fundamental differences would be that the Quarrymen would not have the effect in Canada that they would to the south. Canadians can be as visciously racist and bigoted as anyone, but we're usually fairly quiet about it. I think that the Quarrymen rallies would get a few people out agitating for the RCMP to do something about it, but as soon as the Quarrymen started smashing stuff, their popularity would plummet.

But then again, would Xanatos have gotten as far as he had in the Canadian regulatory climate? Would Elisa, likely an RCMP constable, have ended up posted to rural Manitoba or northern Quebec, and not been in the city to ever meet the Gargoyles?

It's kind of need to think about. For me, anyway.

I think the statute of limitations has expired, Todd. :)

(It's really weird when you think about it. Growing up in Canada, I picked up on stuff like the American presidential system, wars like Vietnam and the Civil War, landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Golden Gate Bridge, things like 4 July and the Pledge of Allegiance, and my biggest challenge was always separating what "We had/we did" from what was American. Plus, we've got a lot of multiculturalism and our very own "other nation within a nation" in Quebec. Compare that to certain Americans who grew up without having to learn much about any foreign cultures at all.

That's not meant as an insult--it doesn't surprise me that a lot of people don't seek to learn things that don't seem relevant or important to them at that point in their lives. I, myself, don't know a lot about South America for example. Then again, Canada's a lot closer than Peru.

We have a TV show segment called "Talking to Americans" which basically involves asking Americans leading questions to see if they'll agree/elaborate, or watching them guess to try to answer simple trivia. Everyone inevitably finds it hilarious. You could take your oak leaf flag thing there ;)

P.S. Tim Horton is not our greatest prime minister ;)

You know Whit, bigotry is bigotry, no matter who's saying it, and who it's directed against.

Now, I could go and say something like this:

I'm guessing if a gargoyle clan was discovered in Canada, the fearful, bigoted Canadians down there would be too scared to even do anything that they'd ask Castaway to send them help. Just like a Canadian to ask an American to fight for them.

Is that a stupid comment? Yes, absolutely. Now, kindly tell me how it is any different from what you said.

Anyway, does anyone know if anyone ever wrote a Sex in the City - Gargoyles crossover story?

Could be that the people who know about other clans in the world see the reaction from New York and chalk it up to another fact of life in the Excited States of America. People tend to flip out more easily on this side of the Atlantic.

Then again, they'd tend to flip out for about a week, and then a new American Idol would start, and I bet the Quarrymen would have trouble filling a room again.

After the disappearance during MIA the people of London were probably more concerned about Nazi Gemany then any Gremlins that may or may not exist. I don't recall any video cameras either, so it would've only been the word of the eye witnesses and I bet the Illuminati humilated such witnesses into silence.

Gargoids... that's a good one.

It occurred to me a few minutes ago that "nightstoners" makes very little sense. I think sometimes I get day and night confused. :-P Anyway, I guess what I meant was either daystoners or nightgliders or something like that. But neither of those sound as cool as nightstoners, even if nightstoners doesn't make much sense.

Well, now that I've corrected myself, I can go to sleep peacefully. Night folks.

I imagine that when English Clans were being wiped out left and right, the London Clan went into a deep hiding simply for survival. Over time the fear of being discovered and destroyed evolved into a reclusiveness and indifference to human affairs. They protected their suburban estate and their shop in SOHO, but felt no protective urges towards their community. Griff was exceptional of course because he saw his Clan as a part of the community and therefore felt responsible to protect it whether from the Nazis or from modern-day street thugs.
I'd love to know what happened in London after MIA. I mean, the London Clan has basically exposed itself to the local human community and yet the world in general wasn't stunned about the existence of gargoyles until the Manhattan Clan was exposed months later. Anyone have any ideas about why Londoners didn't seem to react to the London Clan?

Matt - [O'Fallon, Missouri, USA]
"The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with. " -Marty Feldman

MAybe the London Clan took an isolationist attitude towards the war much like the US did. "It's their problem, not ours."
Battle Beast - [Canada]
that is all I will say.

This is something that I've been wondering a little about the London clan recently. Despite the fact that the "deep-rooted cause" of humanity's persecution of gargoyles is fear and xenophobia, another factor (and often the more immediate one in the massacres) was that the gargoyles were often protecting a group of humans that another group of humans were targeting, and the human aggressors decided to slaughter the gargoyles to stop them from interfering - the principle behind the Wyvern Massacre and behind Duncan and Canmore's hostilities towards Demona's clan (though Hakon, Duncan, and Canmore were prejudiced against gargoyles anyway). I wonder if one reason why the London gargoyles (except for Griff) had decided to ignore "human problems" (whether the German attack on London during World War II or racist street gangs) was because of this, that they had concluded that the big reason behind those gargoyle massacres was because gargoyles had "foolishly" gotten themselves involved in matters that weren't their business, and that if they stayed out of human conflicts, the human aggressors who had been foiled by gargoyle intervention wouldn't go hunting down the clan for retaliation.

Incidentally, today's the anniversary of Macbeth's victory over Duncan in 1040.

Hey, something I've been wondering lately. Star Trek fans are called Trekkies or Trekkers. Some railroad enthusiasts call themselves ferroequinologists. Jimmy Buffet fans are called Parrottheads. Fans of the webcomic El Goonish Shive are called Bunnies. So, what are Gargoyles fans called?

A few ideas here, and their pros/cons:

- Gargoyles Fans (really boring)
- Gargoyles (still kind of boring, but then we can call non-fans Humans)
- Nightstoners (fun alternative interpretation)
- Weismanians (sounds kind of cultish or possibly sacriligious)
...well, that's about all I can think of at the moment. Anyone else have any ideas?

****There is the sound of a thunderclap and a flash of light, and Blaise appears in a cloud of smoke. The smoke then transforms into Oreo cookies, which rain down on the denizens of the Comment Room.**** (I think it was Spacebabie who gave me the idea for this particular entrance, so kudos to her!).
Hey all! It has been...well, a real long time since I've last posted in the Room. I meant to after The Gathering, but I decided I wanted to wait until I could finally say the following:

I HAVE THE GARGOYLES COMIC> Yes, it took me nearly two months (and four weeks of calling my local comic shops), but I finally have my very own copy of Issue #1.
I had already seen the comic before (it was being sold at the Gathering after all, and Guardian was kind enough to let me flip through her copy) and I had already been introduced to some of the more...unique aspects of the art (Castaway's extra elbow, for one), but still, IT IS GOOD TO HAVE IT!
Some little notes:
-Having not been at the 2004 Gathering, I had not known about Goliath's encounter with Art. I really liked this here, both as another indication of people's varied reactions to the gargoyles, and also because of the rather...civil way in which Goliath handled someone's attempt to murder him.
-I noticed a lot more name-dropping in the dialogue between Brooklyn, Goliath and Hudson. Not knocking it, and I know the reasons, but it did stand out for me.
-In a similar vein, Goliath's "quickie flashback" was a pretty neat way to bring new readers into the fold (though he is essentially telling it to Elisa, who already knows it).
-Castaway's gargoyle statue. A very intriguing difference from the way the same prop appeared in the episode. There, it was a perfect match to Goliath, here it is essentially an..."offensive caricature," let's say. I actually kind of like this difference. Castaway would after all want the statue to reflect what he perceives.
-The Quarryman hammer is now charged up with a little thumb switch as opposed to the strange "cocking" mechanism of the show.
-In the episode, the Quarrymen were shown to have two different uniforms--a more "armored" version shared by Castaway, Banquo and Fleance, and the more normal version everyone else had. Here, all the Quarrymen wear basically the same uniform except Castaway, who is the only one wearing the symbol on his chest (along with the modified Hunter "slashes" behind it--and now they're actually the proper color). While I kind of liked the aspect of different uniforms in the episode, I don't know whether that was Greg's idea or not. Besides, the fact that Castaway is the ONLY one wearing the emblem is a nice touch.
-As has been said, the loss of voice actors is a regrettable necessity of the change in format. I find it problematic in this case because only we who watched the episode know that the male and female Quarrymen from the chopper are Banquo and Fleance (I'm not too worried about the "new blood" knowing that they were also formerly Macbeth's henchmen--that will come later).
-I think Elisa looks hot in that dress. It's no Belle gown, true, but it looks good on her.

Okay, I think that's enough for now--hopefully my stops here will be a little more frequent in the future. Until then, farewell. ****Blaise snags a few Oreo cookies, conjures a glass of milk into his hand, and begins dunking and eating cookies as he walks out the door. As he leaves, he calls back over his shoulder, "Oh, by the way--FOURTH!"****
