Happy winter solstice!!

He said that gargoyles absorb thermal energy during the day, and that turning to stone indoors was akin to skipping a meal. I don't think he said anything else about it.

Didn't Greg answer this question or deal with something similar to it?

Good point. I'm not strong enough on biology to consider that factor - at least, not before having it pointed out to me.

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

Since gargoyles absorb thermal energy from the sun during the day, I would imagine that gargoyles would spend more time awake, but feel hungrier and/or more tired than usual.

Greg's certainly right about the decline in "Gargoyles" fans activity, based on the way things have been going here; we often barely have enough members to do a "first ten posts".

Today's the winter solstice, the shortest day and longest night of the year - at least, traditionally. I might have mentioned this before, but I suspect that this day must have a different significance for gargoyles than it does for humans.

To early humans, the increasingly shortening days seemed to threaten the possible death of the sun and eternal night - and when the days began lengthening again after the solstice, they felt an upsurge of relief; the traditional winter solstice holidays, such as Christmas, developed from that same relief. But to gargoyles, the lengthening nights would mean more time active, less time asleep; the winter solstice would mean the longest time awake, the shortest time in stone sleep. Exactly how they would respond to that, I don't know - only Greg could properly answer that question (though it might be something like "No spoilers") - but it'd certainly differ from the humans' response.

So Matt...

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

Given the time of year, this is your friendly reminder to be as kind as possible to members of the tertiary sector of industry...better known as the service sector/industry.
