Hiya Greg, it's been two months now since I asked you a question, did ya miss me?
Of course you did. But now, here is my real question for ye: Could Puck rid Owen of his fist handicap if he wanted to, but chooses to keep it as a tribute to his loyalty for Xanatos? Or is the Cauldron of life's magic stronger then that of Robin Goodfellow? Or both? Or neither?
Dunca.
Puck could reset Owen at any time. But figures that would betray his bargain with Xanatos to have a human assistant in Owen, since theoretically, Owen should not be able to make the change.
Mind telling us what the the opening monologues thingys are for Gargoyles 2198, Pendragon, New Olympians, Bad Guys, Timedancer and Dark Ages?
Just curious who would be reading the opening monologues for Pendragon, Dark Ages, G: 2198, Bad Guys, New Olympians and Timedancer?
I totally don't know whether or if there would be opening monologues for these shows. That's a formatting issue, that I haven't begun to get into mentally, since none of them are happening at this time.
Hello Greg,
Im a big fan of the gargoyles and all and I was wondering if the gargoyles were still on the air would you bring back the Hunter? and few other questions.. how many Hunters were in the gargoyle history? I know they were 1 in the ancient times and 3 in the present and McBeth was kind of one... and the other question if you did brought back the Hunter what kind of look would he have? a High Tech-ish look more beyond what the 3 Hunters had?
I don't know exactly how many hunters there have been. We've shown a sampling, including Gillecomegain, Duncan, Canmore, the Renaissance Hunter, Charles Canmore, Jason Canmore, Robyn Canmore, Jon Canmore. And, as you said, briefly, Macbeth. Fiona Canmore would have appeared in Team Atlantis, had that show gone forward, and Robyn would have continued as the Hunter in Bad Guys (though she'd largely be hunting other bad guys, not gargs) had that show gone forward.
There are more Hunters in the past, including some specific ones that I have in mind. But I won't pretend I've run the entire Canmore line from Canmore to Jon out in my head and listed every single one.
As for moving forward, I see the Hunters waning in favor of the waxing Quarrymen. But I'm not talking in absolutes.
Hi Greg
I'm wondering if you'll ever get around to continuing your episode rambles, I really enjoyed reading them.
I'd love to get back to them, and the summer is a good time. But it seems pointless while the "Asking" function is off line, because I want people to be able to respond.
So to be honest, I'm kinda waiting on Gorebash to decide how he wants to deal with fixing the problems we have with ASK GREG.
Either that, or we wait til I've caught up. I feel like I've been working on 2001 questions forever.
I was sitting down watching Hercules-The ani.series. It ended and I started watching the credits(a habit I've formed since working at a movie theater). When what to my wandering eye should appear but Jon Weismen. Any relation?
YEP. My kid brother. His name and my sisters', though not their personalities, were used for the two younger Hunter siblings, Robyn & Jon Canmore.
I have seen on some sites Coldstones girlfriend being refered to as Desdemona just wondering if that is offically what she is called or just a name someone tagged her with and if it is offical what is the thought behinded is it in reference to Orthelo??
The Desdemona and Iago names were used in our scripts to identify the characters before they got their Coldfire and Coldsteel names in "Possession". The name Othello was also used in the script to refer to Coldsteel in flashback scenes, before he became a cyborg.
None of these names were ever used in dialogue on the series. But both Desdemona and Iago were used in the credits to identify the actors (C.C.H. Pounder and Xander Berkeley) who voiced the two characters. (Othello was never used, because we simply listed Michael Dorn as Coldstone.)
So obviously, yes, we saw the relationship between the three characters as being very "OTHELLO". Particularly in their first appearance, "Legion". With Goliath in the Michael Cassio role.
Hey Greg,
This one has been bugging me for a while. How on earth did Demona know that raising Castle Wyvern above the clouds would end the spell? She obviously didn't have the entire Grimorum memorized because she said something to the effect of "how could my love be stone at night?" (implying that she didn't recognize the spell, despite studying with the Archmage). And for nearly 1000 years, the book was well out of her reach, first going with the magus and then being whisked to 1970 or some such year by the TimeDancer. By the time Xanatos would have let Demona read it, the castle would already be on top of the tower, best as I can figure.
2) did she tell herself in "Vows" in some scene/dialog we didn't see?
2a) if she didn't tell herself, did her year-974 self look up the spell after the events in "Vows"?
3) Did Demona tell Xanatos about the way to end the spell so that she could get him to raise the castle, or did Xanatos already know about the spell from the Grimorum when he met up with Demona?
4) If he already knew about the spell, then why did he get involved with Demona?
Thanks. I hope these were clear.
1. You figure wrong. Demona and Xanatos first met before Xanatos even purchased the castle. They began collaborating and planning.
2. No. See above.
2a. See above.
3. I think he may have known about the spell. I'm sure he had the book translated. But he was missing key pieces of information, which Demona provided. Team effort.
4. See above.
And while I'm here, and since I doubt you'll reveal it when you get to my previous question on this topic...
Would you like to talk about either of Demona's next two great loves?
NOPE.
hi Greg Weisman im yan from canada i whould like to have some episodes of the serie in dead all the serie hehe of gargoyle i would like to know how much episodes and where can i find those episodes on the internet to download or whact online please contact me to leblanc_y@hotmail.com yhankx fan yan ..
Sorry, yan, but I don't have access to any of what I think you're asking for. You'd be better served asking a fan in the Station 8 Comment Room
AND/OR CHECKING THE DARN FAQ TO KNOW THAT I DON'T HAVE THIS INFO!!!
Of course, if you can wait a year, the first season should be available on DVD.
Right off the bat, I should let you (and everyone else) know that I have some reservations about asking this question at all, but... the question seems important, somehow. The whole "gargoyles protect" thing, I suppose.
I was watching Awakening the other day, and there's a prominent shot (I don't remember in which part) of the World Trade towers. They were central to The Mirror, and probably were shown in other eps too.
1. In your mind, did the September 11th disaster happen in the Gargoyles universe?
2. If so, in your mind, is there a story there somewhere? (Not that you could tell it on the air, necessarily.) I mean, do you have thoughts about what the gargoyles did, or what Xanatos' reaction was, or suchlike? How do your particular set of extraordinary people react in those extraordinary circumstances? Or have you not thought about it?
3. If no to #1, would the WTC towers still be there in future episodes, or would they quietly vanish from the Manhattan skyline?
1. Yes.
2. I've occassionally thought about it. But not in any real depth. Avoidance, I guess. I don't think I'd tell a story about it. The series "Without a Trace" just did a two-part episode that was very well-handled dealing with the aftermath of 9/11. And yet, there were moments where I couldn't help thinking it was still exploitive. And I like both the series and the episodes. I don't see how we could possibly, in the context of a fantasy-action show like ours, do justice to the magnitude of that event. So, yes, it happened, and, yes, it effected every one of our characters. But I doubt I'd ever address it on air, unless I (or someone on my staff) came up with just a brilliant take on it. But that seems unlikely.
3. N.A.
