What does the X in Coyote stand for? The variable? The roman numeral? I'm not trying to be annoying, but this has become an issue since the X in Weapon X has turned out to be the roman numeral ten instead of the variable.
Neither. It's a place holder.
Are the Weird Sisters older than Oberon? How about Titania, Odin or the Banshee?
I'm not going to tie my hands by revealing this stuff now. They're all pretty darn old.
How old are Anasi, Puck, Raven and Coyote? Which one is older? Which one is the youngest? Who is the second oldest and the second youngest of the four?
I haven't given this any thought. I'd probably have to do research to figure this out.
Have we meet Oberon and Titania's two kids? If not have you mentioned their names in askgreg?
We have not met them yet, and as far as I recall I have not mentioned them yet.
Who is oberon's father?
Who are Titania's parents?
Who are Puck's parents?
I know the answers to some but not all of these questions. But even the ones I know the answers for I don't feel like revealing right now.
Why are the space-spawn winning the war when the N'kai are older?
Might.
How old is this galactic war?
Older than Nokkar?
Old, by human standards.
No.
What kind of government do the N'kai have? A Democracy? A dictatorship?
What about the space-spawn and this third race?
The closest Earth-equivalent to the Space-Spawn's government is a militocracy.
I'm intentionally not revealing anything about the N'kai or the other alien race.
Are Sentinels considered part of the N'ka military?
If so what other positions are there in the N'Kai military?
Yes.
I haven't worked out all the details yet.
What is the lifespan of a member of this third race in this galactic war?
If you can't tell us then what is it compared to the lifespan of a gargoyles or human? Is it greater or less?
I'm not telling.
How many major powers are there in the galaxy? Are the space-spawn, N'kai and this third race considered major powers in the galaxy?
1) Three.
2) Yes. (Keep in mind that the third alien race should not be confused with "The Third Race" a.k.a. Oberon's Children.)
What is the lifespan of a member of the space-spawn race?
Does it vary? If so could you tell us the general average?
If you can't tell us that then is it less when compared to a gargoyle? How about when it's compared to that of a human?
I haven't made a decision on this point yet.
What happened to Turkesa and Jade? Do they still live on Avalon?
Turquesa & Jade did/will eventually return to the rain forest.
Gang,
I just talked to the folks at Buena Vista Home Entertainment.
I asked them what was the best date for us to MASS ORDER/PURCHASE the 1st Season Gargoyles Series DVD.
My contact was unequivocal in his response.
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 7th, 2004.
Yep, that's right the day of the release. I guess anything earlier is nice but winds up being too early to be useful. But day and date with the release is exactly what we need.
In the meantime, BV encourages ALL OF YOU to go to Amazon and rave in the comments/reviews section. Leading up to Dec 7, the more good buzz on Amazon's site the better.
(Remember this is the make or break event in the fandom. It's time to prove to Disney once and for all that we have the bodies and the dollars and the fanbase and the communications skills to support more Gargoyles product -- both merchandise and creative. If we can't prove it with this DVD release... well, we're not likely to get another chance.)
So spread the word. SPREAD THE WORD!!!!!!!!
The DVD is coming out December 7th. And we'd like EVERYBODY to ORDER/PURCHASE it on THAT DAY!!!!!!!!!
Concerning the Time-Dancer story: Was it meant to be a complete new series, or should it have played within the normal gargoyles episodes?
The first episode -- a sort of back-door pilot was designed to play within the regular series.
After that Time-Dancer would have been a spin-off series of it's own spanning 40 years.
(Yes, I was very ambitious in those days.)
Now, I'd be happy with whatever I could get.
What du you know about e new script for a Gargoyle Movie?
Nothing. As far as I know, the Gargoyles Live Action Movie has been put on hold by Touchstone Pictures. The current boss isn't interested in pursuing, it although DVD sales might truly change her mind.
How many Garoyles live in the Ishimura Clan?
I'm guessing that Ishimura is a bigger than average clan, thanks to the fact that they're hiding in plain sight with human protection. But I hate to assign a specific number as someone always calls me on that stuff.
Do the Mutants get a Name for his Spezies in the Future?
I totally don't understand what you're asking.
what are gargoyles used for
Inspiring the imagination?
Happy Birthday Greg. Did you get the $1000 check I sent in the mail?
Uh, no. But it's the thought that counts, darn it.
Gee, it's already 9/28 AGAIN? well then, Happy B-day Greg!
*Bows down before Greg's greatness*
Thank you, but please. Get up. Get up!
Greg Bishansky's going to town (to save my reputation, I guess)...
Okay, just went and did some research...
The Hunter's Moon is technically not the first full moon of October. It's
the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, which is associated with the
beginning of autumn... usually close to mid-September.
So, the September 28th date is still possible :)
That's great. Although it was my understanding that if a month had a second full moon, it was a BLUE MOON. But thanks, Greg.
I just received the following e-mail from Greg Bishansky:
Hey Greg,
I was reading your newest update, and you had this answer in there...
"I didn't MISS anything. Yes, I chose that date because it was my birthday.
But I also never claimed that the confrontation with Charles took place on
the Hunter's Moon. It was the final confrontation between Demona, the other
Gargoyles and the Hunters which took place at St. Damien's Cathedral on the
Hunter's Moon."
Now, I really hate to be nitpicky, but to be fair, in the actual episode,
during the flashback Charles Canmore says...
"Tonight is the Hunter's Moon. Our moon, my children."
Now... considering Charles' line, I thought your answer was a little on the unfair side.
That it was, Greg. Thank you for keeping me honest and pointing out my error. Double error, it seems. Both in the original series and in my answer to Richard of Portugal's question.
My apologies on both counts.
September 28th again already?
Happy Birthday, Greg!
Hey, it's only September 14th.
Oh, wait, you meant 2002....
I can't believe I'm still TWO YEARS BEHIND.
But thanks for the well-wishes! Much appreciated!
Hi.
I was just taking a look at your last ramble. I never noticed this liberty your background artists had taken which you alluded to. Their inclusion of all of these portraits of Elisa in MacBeth's home. I was wondering if that kind of material (outside where you probably would have intended to take the series) would have emerged as it's own story if it had the chance?
What I mean is, when creative contributors outside the writing team took liberties like that, or even if some kind of happy accident developed, did you ever try to develop them into their own story? I, personally, would have been interested in learning why Mr. MacBeth had those portraits adorning his home.
Often, story ideas came from sources other than me or my writing team. Sometimes happy accidents definitely contributed.
I don't know whether I would have addressed those portraits because I find them utterly mystifying. I don't know what the bg painters were thinking. The only thought that comes to mind is that Macbeth is obsessed with Elisa -- and he's just not. So sometimes I ignore what I can only categorize as mistakes.
Still if a great idea occured to me, I certainly wouldn't be above using it...
