Hi Greg,
I just realized something very sad. Because gargoyles only age at half the rate of humans, by the time the Trio/Angela and Goliath are in their 40s and 50s respectively, Elisa, Fox, Matt, Xanatos and all their other 'original' human friends will have either died or be quite elderly.
1.How do the gargoyles cope with knowing they will outlive these friends (pending unnatural deaths)? It has to be depressing, especially watching your friends grow old before your eyes.
2. Was this something Elisa and Goliath considered before admitting their feelings for one another?
Thanks!
These are issues we would absolutley be exploring over time. Keep in mind, that prior to the current era, most of our Gargoyles had few close human friends. So this is new for them.
During "This Day in Gargoyles Universe History" you posted the following events.
1997: July 19th. Goliath makes a bargain.
1998: August 14th. Vinnie visits family.
1999: June 25th. Lexington goes into business.
2001: June 22nd. A crisis brings together representatives of four clans.
2002: June 28th. Vinnie's quest begins.
2003: June 27th. Lexington holds a press conference.
2004: August 6th. Goliath is briefly forced into hiding.
2005: July 29th. Lexington takes a chance and loses.
2006: June 23rd. Obsidiana comes to the United States of America.
2007: June 22nd. Lexington continues his journey.
Now, obviously these are all Gathering dates (the Fridays of each Gathering), and I've noticed they tend to coincide with who one of the Special Guests was.
So, I'm curious... what happened in the Gargoyles Universe on the following two dates?
June 27, 2008; and August 21st 2009?
Not saying.
Hi, Greg!
Skimming through the archives, I saw the question asked: "... Both Fox and David Xanatos have been to prison.. does this mean that neither of them can vote?"
You had replied: "Honestly, I'd have to research that."
Curious, I used my powers Google-fu and found that the answer is...
"In New York, individuals who have been convicted of a felony cannot vote while incarcerated or on parole. Once an individual has completed his or her sentence, the right to vote is automatically restored, but it is up to the individual to re-register with their county board of elections. Individuals on probation retain the right to vote."
Source: http://www.nyclu.org/files/Disfranchisement7bw.pdf
So I guess the real question becomes: Are either Xanatos or Fox on parole?
I realize by the time you see this it'll have been a few months since the original question, but I just thought I'd pass along what I learned. :)
As of January 4th, 1995, David began serving his probation.
As of September 6th, 1995, Fox was released on parole.
As of October 31st, 1997, David's probation ends.
I don't know when Fox's parole ends. I'd have to research that too.
At one point, L.A. D.D.A. Tuppence Macintyre told me the difference between parole and probation, but I can no longer remember exactly what those differences are (beyond what you wrote above) or why David was on probation and Fox was on parole.
About "Egwardo" how far along is he (or she seeing as it will hatch into Tachi)
in the incubation process as of the family coming back to the manhaten clan
Egwardo will hatch in 1998. Just over a year from when Brooklyn returns to "the present" in January 1997.
I've been looking through your time line and an entree cought my atention.
JUNE 22 2001 A crisis brings together representatives from 4 clans.
Can you give us even a hint of what that crisis is? And if so would you please?
Yes, I could. No, I won't.
Hey Greg, I'm trying to put together a family tree for The Three Brothers' line.
1) Would you say RuaidrÃ, father of Findlaech and Mail Brigti, is more Indulf's generation or Culen's generation? (Frankly, I'm surprised that Gillecomgain is older than Bodhe.)
Culen's generation, I'd think. (Though he was probably considerably younger than Culen.)
Does Brooklyn meet Katana before or after his adventures in the future with Samson and the resistance?
Both.
1. What year was Martin Hacker born?
2. What year did Martin Hacker become an Illuminatus?
1. 1952.
2. Not saying.
====SPOILERS FROM CLAN-BUILDING 2====
A lot of new faces were seen in Demona's clan in CB2 - and it sounds like some interesting facts were given out about the whole clan's relationships to Wyvern clan members during this last Gathering. So a couple questions:
1) Were all of the Gargates seen in the cell that Demona's Second/True/etc were part of from the Wyvern Split clan?
2) What year were these Gargates born in?
a - Demona's Second's Mate/Sacrifice
b - "Bro" the red Gargoyle Brooklyn spoke with.
c - Brooklyn's bioBrother, seen behind Brook and "Bro"
d - the little Green gargoyle standing next to True.
e - Bronx's parents
3) Was Sacrifice related biologically to any other Gargoyle we've seen from Wyvern? If so which?
4) The little Blue Gargoyle from City of Stone was not seen here (that I found). Where was he?
1. Yes.
2.
a. 918.
b. 958.
c. 938.
d. 978
e. 898
3. Don't know.
4. Another cell, probably.

G2008 Radio Play
No, that's not a misprint. Before I post the G2009 Gargoyles/Spectacular Spider-Man crossover radio play, I'm going to post (over the next few days) the G2008 Radio Play. This was a CHRONOLOGICAL adaptation of issues 7-9 of the Gargoyles comic, i.e. the Stone of Destiny three-parter which makes up the first half of the recently released trade paperback, GARGOYLES: CLAN-BUILDING, VOLUME II. Now that the trade is out, I'm okay with posting this. But there are some caveats...
1. Reading this does NOT replace buying the trade. Because...
2. This version of the story doesn't really work, dramatically or otherwise. The story wasn't designed to be told chronologically. It gets somewhat tiresome told in chronological order and the final dramatic moment with the Stone talking to Macbeth, Xanatos, Arthur and Peredur across four time periods has none of it's power.
Nevertheless, here it is... or at any rate, here is the title page, cast list and teaser. I'll post the three chapters over the next three days...

Hey Greg.
This is a very minor question, I admit, but I wanted to make sure the facts noted on your Timeline (and thus the GargWiki) were accurate.
You've noted that on February 3rd, 1995, the armed robber heldup Mr. Jaffe at his store and that the next morning on the 4th the robber returned the money to him.
However, on the night of the third, Mr. Jaffe says, "Can't you rob somebody else this time. This is the third time this month!"
My question is, since it was only the third of the month, was Mr. Jaffe exxagerating or was he implying the last 30 days or did he think it was still January or what? Or did the robber actually rob the store three times in three days?
Sorry if this question strikes you as silly. I admit it certainly is trivial, but I wanted the facts to be straight for the GargWiki if nothing else. At this time, the Wiki indicates that the robber heldup the store three times in January. Should this be changed?
Thanks Greg.
I think he was saying "within the last 30 days" give or take.
1. When was Mary (Tom's mother) born?
2. Where was Mary (Tom's mother) born?
3. When was Finella born?
4. Where was Finella born?
1. 966.
2. Somewhere within a mile or two of Wyvern, Scotland.
3. 972.
4. Not sure. Scotland, of course, though.
Which part of the world did gargoyles first arise in? For example, humans apparently arose in Africa and then migrated almost everywhere else, and then evolved. I'm curious to know which continent gargoyles first came from. If you'd care to narrow it down even further, that'd be great, since a continent is a really big place.
I did a search to see if this had already been answered, but I didn't see anything. If you've answered it already and I missed it, my apologies.
Pangea.
Hi Greg,
Ok, ergh, in the last post a "other" was missing - it should have said "other potential mediums", "potential mediums" makes it as if comics were second grade... talking bout making mistakes...
Anyways, I've got another question: with the comics being limited to a few books per year - are there any "minor" story arcs you've dropped along the way? I don't want to ask if there were "less important" ones, because who's yet to tell what is of importance in the future? I'd just like to know this, for the last Season of Gargoyles (Season 2) was so hughe and massive, that I'd like to know how you're working here (it's obvious that the Timedancing, for example, can't take as long as the Avalon-tour did, for there's not enough room). Are there side-storys you've dropped for now or that are on ice? Or are you just formulating the main storyarcs?
Thank you so much for awnsering, and once more - thank you for your time and work.
I haven't DROPPED anything. I'm just in no hurry (anymore) to catch up to the present. I'm fine with the setting being the late nineties for the time being.
TimeDancer is MUCH longer than the World Tour. The latter lasted a few months. The former, forty years. But again, I'm in no hurry to tell it all at once.
Hello Greg,
Gosh, it's been over 7 years since I asked a question here!
First off, I'd just like to say how thrilled I am that you still continue to push for Gargoyles to reach the fans. No matter the medium! Before the comics, I lived for the "Ask Greg" section of this site, (I still enjoy reading here when time away from work and my horses allows). The comics have really been a godsend. It's always a disappointment to find your favorite show has no new material in the works, so I commend you for helping to keep Gargoyles alive and available to us all no matter what obstacle you must cross.
I'm very upset to hear about the license situation with the comic, but I have not given up hope for the future spin offs and further stories.
I'd guess you write timelines and probably have notebooks and computer documents full of continuing ideas. Have you ever thought about doing an encyclopedia/compliation with all of the characters, places and events as well as future events you have outlined? (Obviously with Disney's approval of course)
I apologize if the question has already been asked. I searched the archives and didn't see a mention. (There are alot of pages!)
Best of luck, keep up the good work and Long live the Gargoyles!
I've thought often about it. No publisher has ever expressed any interest.
My Gargoyles Universe timeline has hit 300 pages. Just thought you'd like to know.
By the time of the French revolution, were there any gargoyle clans left on mainland Europe?
I'm not answering this at this time.
I was just curious...is there anything that happens on the Gargoyles Timeline on March 23 (of any year)?
Check the archives.
For GargWiki purposes, what are the dates of the events of Bad Guys #1 and #2?
Strangers: November 5th, 1996 & January 5th, 1997.
The Lost: November 8th, 1996 & January 5th, 1997.
And while we're at it...
Estranged: September 28th, 1980; December 22nd, 1996; December 31st, 1996 & January 5th, 1997
Dear Greg,
This is something that has been in the back of my mind for a while, and I don't want to solicit any ideas, I am just seriously curious, do you ever plan on showing the gargoyles reactions to 9/11? I am assuming based on the precedent set already that it did happen in the Gargoyles Universe.
It hasn't happened yet, as it's still only 1996/1997 in the Gargoyles Universe. For the answer to your question, browse the archives. I've addressed it in detail many times.
Got Bad Guys #2 today and really enjoyed it. I'll have to read it again before I do any kind of review, but I have a question.
Toward the end we see Shari hanging out in the Labyrinth as "Fred" wanders through. Without making suggestions that may be construed as ideas, what is the time frame for this scene? Am I correct in assuming its sometime before Halloween?
Since we're on the subject, I'd like to fill in the Bad Guys timeline:
1) What date did Hunter recruit Dingo and Matrix?
2) What date did Hunter recruit Yama?
3) What date did Sevarius spring Fang from the Labyrinth?
4) What date did the Redemption helicopter get blown out of the sky?
Any other Bad Guys-related dates you'd like to provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

2. Friday, November 8th, 1996, 7:07pm UTC+09

Thank you for sharing with us a year's worth of Today In Gargoyles Universe History. It was very interesting. I have one question about an event not on the calendar so far. What year did the Pack first start airing on television?
Ahh, DPH, bad luck. I'm answering questions from a Spider-Man episode #10 mix, and I don't have access to my timeline here. Try again later, as my Magic Eightball would say.
I meant to post this last Thursday, but it wouldn't have been answered then anyway, so I guess it's ok.
So, the Vernal Equinox of 2008 has passed. In Gargoyles history, ow many eggs would be in the Manhattan Clan's rookery as of the day I'm writing this?
Are you so sure any hatched?
I noticed that you're nearing the end of the "This Day in Gargoyles Universe History" feature; you began (according to the archives) on April 7 last year, and it's March 21 now. So there's less than three weeks left until it comes to an end.
I'll miss it. I enjoyed that feature, especially your inclusion of real-world history connected to events in "Gargoyles" (such as the lives and deaths of various people in 11th century England such as Canute, Edward the Confessor, and Harold Godwinson, the Parisian catacombs, and the Kennedy assassination). And it even introduced new information that often got our attention (Gruoch's suicide, for example, or Quincy Hemings getting his present job just one day after the Kennedy assassination - you just know that's going to encourage the conspiracy theories!).
At least we have the whole year's cycle now (or will, in another eighteen days). I'd like to thank you for this feature at "Ask Greg".
You're welcome. It's been fun. We'll take a rest from it for a few years, and then maybe revisit the feature.
