I think it's funny when you misrepresent Muslims you say we're overreacting but if it is any other group you're usually ready for a retraction. Why is that?
I disagree with the premise of your question. I have LITERALLY never said you're over-reacting. NEVER. I have said that other Muslims disagree with you. Are you going to deny that? Are you going to claim that ALL MUSLIMS are in monolithic agreement with YOU?
I have the same kind of reaction to quote-unquote "other groups". But if I think I've made a mistake on something - Muslim or otherwise - I'll cop to it. But if I think I've done right by a group, and I have people in and from the group (in particular, people in the group who make it their business to work with entertainment companies to increase and improve representation) who agree with me, then I'll stand by my work. What else should I do?
Because, if I'm supposed to make a "retraction" anytime ANYONE objects to something I've done, then I'd also be making "retractions" for the many, many asshats who think I should not be depicting Muslims, LGBTQIA+, Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Women, Jews, Catholics, at all.
So I have to draw my own moral lines based on the best advice I can get from people who make it their business to know.
But I have always said very clearly that you are absolutely entitled to your opinion. What you don't seem to like is that you aren't necessarily able to change my mind. If it makes you feel any better, you're part of a very big club.
