Hi Mr. Weisman, I would be glad if you answer some of this questions
1. How did the Kroloteans and The Reach knew about the meta-gene? I ask this because none of the members of the Justice League that attacked Rimbor had meta-genes
2. Are Batgirl and Wondergirl public heroes? In "Happy New Year" Gordon Godfrey shows footage of Lobo ripping the false body to reveal a krolotean, he even mentioned that it has been played a lot of times before, did the video was edited to not show them? if that's the case why?
3. Who's a public hero and Who isn't?
4. About the Team, I know you've said that the team doesn't need a fancy name, but I find it difficult to believe that some eager members like Beast Boy or Kid Flash that even named the Super-Cycle didn't come up with a name for them, did some ever come up with or suggested a name for the team or they just let Superboy decide how to refer to themselves?
5. Face recognition technology used for uncovered Sportmaster and Cheshire would recognize Clark Kent as Superman or any other uncovered hero?
Well thanks for your attention, I hope you can answer some of them. Young Justice brought me a lot of hours of fun and it has become my favorite animated series, Thank you
1. There was some trickery involved, thanks to the Light.
2. That's a fair question, that believe it or not, I hadn't considered before. Hmmm. It's to the Light's advantage NOT to reveal Wonder Girl or Batgirl, so the first thing I wonder about is whether or not they controlled access to the footage. Obviously, they HAD access to the footage, but that's not the same as controlling it. Well, I will say I had never considered either teen as public heroes in the way that, say Robin or Kid Flash was in Season One. Honestly, I'll have to think about this a little.
3. ALL of the League's heroes are public, but VERY few of the Team's heroes are public. During Season One, the public teen heroes were Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Speedy/Red Arrow and Rocket. As of Season Two, the Team members who are definitely public were Robin (but not Nightwing) and Blue Beetle. That doesn't mean none of the others were ever seen in public, but if they were, they were more of a mystery to witnesses.
4. Sounds about right.
5. I think so.
I JUST FOUND OUT YOU ARE COMING TO THE COMIC CONVENTION IN MY AREA!
You cannot imagine how excited I was to find out one of the producers of my favorite show was going to be at Denvercon. As we speak I'm trying to get a group together to cosplay some DC characters.
But if you happen to spy a Young Justice character running around with a couple of X-men, well, I tried my best.
Thank you for continuing to reach out to the fan base and generally be awesome!
You're welcome. I had a great time again this year at Denver ComicCon. (My second year.) And I'm pleased to say I've been invited back for a third year in 2014. It's one of my favorite conventions.
Anyway, did we meet?
Were Tempest and Lagoon Boy on good terms before Garth left the Team? Did they get along?
SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.
I was wondering how come Barbara does not wear glasses to protect her identity when in civvies like the other batkids do. Isn't she also well known around Gotham?
Not particularly. Plus her mask hides more.
This might be a better question for Brandon/Phil/Jerome/Dusty, but here goes -
All those aliens on Rimbor... were there any original designs among them, or were they all taken/adapted from the two Green Lantern animated movies to save time and money?
Not sure.
RAIN OF THE GHOSTS, BOOK TWO COUNTDOWN, Chapter Forty-One:
And here's another of my shameless attempts to maintain buzz about my new novel, RAIN OF THE GHOSTS, due out in stores and on-line on December 3rd, 2013 (but available for pre-order NOW on Amazon, etc.):
http://www.amazon.com/Rain-Ghosts-Greg-Weisman/dp/1250029791
Since there's not too much to report about the first book right now, I'm counting down my progress writing the SECOND book in the Rain series, which should come out sometime in 2014.
I just finished writing Chapter Forty-One, a longish chapter that would have been the single longest chapter in the book, if I hadn't already split it twice. So what was once Chapter 39 (or, if you've been keeping track of all the splits and merges in my outline, Chapter 36), is now three chapters, i.e. 39, 40 and 41. This one was pretty emotional, I think. (I hope.) If I've done my job, it's all come together here.
Anyway, I'll start on Chapter Forty-Two tomorrow.
Was the departure of Lieutenant Marvel and Sergeant Marvel from the Team related to the death of Jason Todd?
SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.
Hey Greg,
I've got another question that has been eating me up.
What ever happened to the Gnomes. After the episode "Agendas" we never saw them again. Did things ever work out? Or are they still enslaved by Cadmas.
Nearly all the genomorphs are still in Cadmus. How "enslaved" they are is debatable, I suppose.
Hi Greg,
I'm in a Mayan/Mesoamerican Civilization class right now, and I couldn't help but thinking about the Mayan Clan in Gargoyles.
What would you consider the relationship between the Classic Mayans and the Mayan clan; did they believe that the Gargoyles came from the same origins as they did (such as Maize)? 2. Did the Mayan clan do anything to fend off the Spanish Conquest or was there a massacre/population decrease similar to that at Castle Wyvern? 2b. Did the Spanish Conquistadores encounter the Guatemalan clan? 3. Are the Guatemalan Clan literate in Mayan writing? 4. Were there other Gargoyle clans in Mesoamerica in the distant past protecting other civilizations, such as Teotihuacan and the Aztecs?
Hey, Phil. I'm afraid most of these questions are spoilers, but if I'm being perfectly honest, I also don't know all the answers yet. Of course, if and when the time came, I would do a ton of research, and these are among the questions I would be asking myself.
It's been quite a long time since I've written anything to you, but after seeing the kickstarter website you directed us to, I had to say something. I am amazed at what was accomplished with kickstarter and the Veronica Mars movie. It certainly does bring hope back to those who have been waiting for that hope to pay off. I know that this has brought about some thoughts for you to consider with past shows you have worked on. I am sure if you have plans to incorporate kickstarter in any way with one of your past shows that we'd be the first to know. All I want to say is that I am a Gargoyles fan to the bitter end and that I hope this could be something to put faith into, whether that means bringing back just the comics or even in the long run the tv show. I know you have some of the most loyal fans that are ready to do their part to keep Gargoyles alive, and I will be one of them. Thank you for your exceptional work on every show you work on, especially Gargoyles. It will always hold a special place in my heart and I am ready to see it reawaken.
Thank you for your time and your thoughts,
-Charisma82
Thanks. I'd love that. But of course, to put up a kickstarter for someone else's property (like Gargoyles) requires the permission of the actual owner of the property (in this case Disney). And the studios don't seem to want to pursue that avenue at this time.
