117. VOLCANO

noticing that, though the contest started out quickly, it seems like those that are left are kinda hard...some of them anyway...

2198 Contest.

When this contest started, Greg, I thought you'd gone starkers. Now I find myself caught up in in the excitement.

(And yes, I checked the answered and queued responses. I was disappointed to see so many other people guessed the same as I did with some.)

134. enslaved

Hi,

I guess I should give a brief introduction since I'm new here (this being my first post and all). My name's Eleanor and I'm from NYC. I've been a fan of Gargoyles since it came out back in '94 when I was in fourth grade. I remember rushing back home from school Mondays thru Thursdays so I could manage to record the show on tape (much to my grandmother's bewilderment). My favorite episodes had been "Eye of the Beholder," "The Mirror," "Hunter's Moon" trilogy, and "The Journey". I was saddened to hear the series was cancelled in 1997, but wonders what the internet could offer (I discovered this part of the site 1 week ago) - I never knew there would be so many fans! I loved how you interwoven so many legends/myths into your show; my knowledge of Shakespeare had been limited (well, I was in grade school) until I watched the episodes. Last year my English 10 Honors class was studying "MacBeth" - I was able to recognize many of the names from the play. Thank you for expanding the imagination of the child I was six years ago and making me the lover of legends I am today.

All right, I think I'm getting too off-topic... wouldn't want to put anyone to sleep :) Anyway---

Greg,
By now you can see that things are slowing down with the G2198 contest. It started out as a sprint, but I think in the long run it will still be a marathon. We've filled in all the easy ones, and the rest might take a while.

Although some may resort to the trial and error method, I will continue to base my guesses on careful thought and logic. (Except for the occasional wild guess.)

And speaking of wild guesses:
42: expectorated (??)

PS: I'm sorry this contest isn't turning out like you thought, but I'm enjoying it. }:)

Greg responds...

I'm glad you're enjoying it.

So, Greg, how much have you regretted starting this contest? :-)

I very much doubt that this one could be right, given the potential copyright problems with the G.I. Joe people, but just to cover all the bases.

God I hope you haven't posted 1000 entries on this theme, cuz two of these are already answered, and you've misread the clue on the other two. So I'm just going to delete these to save time and space after this.
