Hey, I just started watching Young Justice and I absolutely LOVED it. Thank you so much for that. I just have one question.
1. My question regards one of the minor villains named Klarion. If he was the all-powerful lord of chaos, why does he need the light? Couldn't he easily obliterate the Justice League if he's immortal?
Thank you!
Who said a Lord of Chaos is all-powerful? Is Doctor Fate/Nabu, who is a Lord of Order, all-powerful?
Hello, Greg. I'm a huge fan of yours. I'm really interested in animation, and storytelling and writing- and would eventually like to have my own show at some point. And I'm a big fan of superheroes and comics, especially DC ones. So- Young Justice had a huge impact on me. Anyway I wanted to know-
1)What advice do you have for young aspiring writers?
2)What are the people in the industry/companies looking for, when they're hiring?(I would love your insight)
3)What's the first step one needs to take, in order to get into the TV animation field and break through?
4)What sort of educational background is preferred in the industry, or proves helpful/useful in it?
The last question, I wanna know specifically as I think that'll help me determine what I wanna take for my University course. I love storytelling, always have and I would love for you to share your knowledge of the industry, and insights of writing. :)
1. Look through the "WRITING" and "WRITING TIPS" archives here at Ask Greg.
2. Good writers with good sample scripts.
3. Write scripts. Rewrite scripts. Rewrite some more. Get an agent.
4. No one cares. Seriously. Personally, I'm big on education, and I think it'll make you a better writer if you have a strong liberal arts background (even if you majored in the sciences or whatever), but no one looks at a resume and says, "Oh, no, he didn't go to Harvard! We can't hire him!"
Did Jason Todd die before Batgirl join the team?
NO SPOILERS.
Hi Greg,
Having recently purchased Gargoyles Season 2 vol. 2, I just wanted to say I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to revisit the series from beginning to end (and finally "retire" my bootleg copy of these episodes).
I'm nearly through the season 2 vol. 1 set and am really enjoying your intros for each episode and commentary for city of stone. I was disappointed (but not surprised) to see that none of these features exist for the recently released vol. 2 set.
My question is, have you ever considered recording commentaries/intros for this set, (i.e. audio recordings/podcasts) and posting them online for listening alongside viewing?
Your insight and commentary provides so much additional richness to what already is a series rich in depth, lore and multi-layers.
While I doubt you have the time nor inclination to do so, as fan of the series since it aired 20 years ago, I am once again enjoying it (likely even more so now) and look forward to introducing Gargoyles to a new, young generation of future Gargoyle fans.
Thanks and gratitude!
I don't have the technical know-how or capability to do that.
Are the alternate costumes as seen in Young Justice Legacy canon?
No.
In Secrets three freshman attempt to leave the Halloween party, only to be told to go back inside by Marvin. The freashman are dressed as Captain Atom, Aquaman, and Wonder Girl. As seen here

1. Is the Wonder Girl costume a tribute or shout out to Donna Troy?
2. Is that costume what Donna would have worn at some point?
1. That's a Wonder WOMAN costume. Not Wonder Girl.
2. No Spoilers. But no. Donna was never Wonder Girl. She was Troia.
Hi again,
I read in the guidelines to submit different posts involving different subjects, so I have another question, one that isn't as, for lack of better terms, serious as the other!
Throughout the Young Justice series, I was always wondering why you had the Kid Flash and Artemis pairing as opposed to the Kid Flash and Linda Park one. I honestly enjoy the 'Spitfire' pairing more (actually, I LOVE this pairing. I'm going down with this ship, Mr. Weisman xD), so I'm definitely not complaining that Linda wasn't added to the cast. I was just curious as to why you chose to add a Wally and Artemis pairing.
We worked with the group we had. Linda didn't fit our plans.
I have a question: What does John Lasseter think of Gargoyles?
How would I know? Wouldn't it make more sense to ask him?
Quick question that I've been wondering about for a while - were Wonder Girl and Robin friends before they started dating? Based on them being in the background quite a bit together, and M'gann's comment on Wonder Girl "finally getting the courage to kiss him" and all, I just wondered.
Yes.
