My name is Vlad, I'm from Russia, from Novosibirsk. ( While writing this, 10 or more moments from 80-00s movies appeared in my head).
I'm writing first of all to tell you a HUGE THANK YOU “SPASIBO” for your work and all the projects you've had a hand in. Now that I'm almost 30, I think it's strange to write to the author of comics and creator of cartoons that I read and watched when I was still in school, but then I realize that why not? The projects that you remember me for are “Gargoyles” - which became something incredible for me, and literally blew up the brain of a six-year-old kid, the complexity of the plot, mythology, ambiguity of characters, setting and morality, which at the time could not be compared with cartoons that were shown on other channels.

"Young Justice" (Seasons 1 and 2) â€" I’m not sure what connection this series has to the U.S. (if any), and while I’m not overly invested in it myself, it’s adored in Russia for its balance of seriousness and humor, its characters, and the smooth, evenly-paced development of its storylines. For me, Robin, Wally, and Kaldur from the first season remain the best iterations of these characters, both on-screen and in media overall.
"The Spectacular Spider-Man" and "W.I.T.C.H." are also hugely popular in Russia. The latter was even watched by guys here (which might’ve seriously boosted their ability to talk to girls).

I could go on forever about the works we love here and why they resonate with me personally, but this message is getting too long and might not pass moderation.
Thank you again for your immense contribution to the geeky childhoods of me and my friends. Thank you for treating kids in cartoons like smart, capable adults, and thank you for continuing to work on "Gargoyles" â€" I’m doing my best to keep up with it and read any new issues if they come out.

In Kazakhstan (Russia’s neighbor), ComicCon Astana takes place in July, and I can confidently say that if your mood ever brings you there, fans from Russia and other Russian-speaking countries would be thrilled to personally thank you in their own ways.

Since this is a Q&A topic, here are my questions:

What are your thoughts on the shelved "Gotham High" project, which aimed to reimagine DC heroes in a high school setting? I stumbled across it around 2010 and still wonder why it never even got a pilot season.

Could we see a new "Gargoyles" animated series with you in the director’s chair?

If you could hypothetically work on adapting any DC or Marvel storyline, which one would you choose?

So, i have a Spidey question that's been on my mind recently... After the death of his parents, did Eddie spent the rest of his life in an orphanage? Or was he in foster care? If so, how often does he switch between homes (or if none at all)?

Hello Mr. Weisman,

I am a huge fan of The Spectacular Spider-Man, and I would like to thank you for creating one of the best animated series I’ve ever seen. The character development, storytelling, and action were all perfect, and the series is still beloved by many to this day.

I grew up watching this series, and I am now 23 years old. It’s a major part of my memories and my love for Spider-Man. This show is the reason I fell in love with Spider-Man because it focused solely on his story without distracting attention to other characters like Miles Morales or Spider-Ghost. What truly makes this show special is that it showed Spider-Man relying on himself and taking full responsibility, which made the character stronger and more relatable. In fact, Spider-Man’s sense of responsibility taught me the meaning of responsibility during my childhood and its impact on our lives.

I know that legal complications prevented the show from continuing, but with the continued success of Spider-Man characters, do you think there’s any chance of bringing it back someday? Whether as a new series, an animated film, or even as official comic books, it would be amazing to see your story continue.

Hey Mr. Weisman, my favorite scene in Young Justice Outsiders is the children of the Justice League. It was funny, lighthearted, and very /interesting. It's like the Rugrats of superheroes in the DC universe. Why put the children of Justice League in the Young Justice episode, Home Fires and are you going to do a YJ spinoff about the kids?

Has Ray Palmer (the atom) retired from the league? I mean last we saw of him was in the comics and he was being used for his science knowledge. He’s one of my favorite characters and I was just curious if his tenure as the Atom was over!
