Ok, this is an old question.

Aside from Gargoyles, does anybody know of any other species that uses scent-markers to prevent in-breeding?

Mr. Maune, I for one am delighted by your news and very grateful that you're posting it here. I'm going to use the excuse that I was spreading the word on another board for not expressing my appreciation here sooner. :) The prospect of this series getting the increased exposure that it deserves is thrilling indeed. Thanks again for keeping us informed.

I taped ABC Family's Saturday morning line-up today to see if there would be a mention of "Gargoyles" and after checking my tape it turns out they did indeed start airing promos today!

"Gargoyles" to air where people can actually watch it. Starting March 13th, "Gargoyles" will air for a full hour, not a half-hour, but a full hour, on ABC Family's Saturday morning Jetix block. Gargoyles will be the last hour on the block at 11 AM Eastern. Unlike Toon Disney, ABC Family actually reaches most cable subscribers."

WHA?! Thats awesome! Maybe they won't be so anal on the editing and actually show "Deadly Force"! I'm adding that to my fav list on my Direct TV reciever right now. :)

Maybe people just got busy and didn't see it...

But now I'll have to catch the shows since I do have that abc family channel (didn't think I did beforehand). Perhaps the high ratings will help but I'll get to see on scree again at a non-premium channel(edited or not). Thanks again for the info.

Sigh, only 2 posts in 24 hours. I guess I don't really have much room to say anything in that regard though since I only really lurk unless I have news to post.

Anyway, I hope people are finding this news somewhere. This is arguably some of the biggest news since the annoucement of the DVDs. It is at least the best time slot Gargoyles has had in a looong time. Good ratings in the upcoming weeks in this new time slot could be a huge boost for Gargoyles.

Finally, who would've ever thought Gargoyles and Power Rangers would air on the same block? With Spider-man in between it is the mid-90s all over again!

Well, I finally did it! Registered for the Gathering, booked my plane ticket (Delta, in case you're wondering) and the room. Looking forward to going to my second Gathering and seeing everyone again. You remember me, the overweight guy in glasses who could barely work up the nerve to speak to anyone? :)

Great news about Gargoyles on ABC Family. Maybe Disney is taking the show seriously again after a decade of neglect, but I'm not raising any hopes.

Jetix only airs on ABC Family and Toon Disney, not regular network ABC. "Gargoyles" will be airing Saturday mornings on ABC Family's Jetix, but funnily enough, not Toon Disney's Jetix. Also, after further checking, it looks like "Gargoyles" will only air on ABC Family on Saturdays, not Sundays. However, that is still two episodes a week on a major cable channel. That is pretty much the best exposure "Gargoyles" has had in since it was on USA, if not better.

As for which version will air, we probably will not know until it airs.

Gargoyles episodes will be show somewhere other than tthe toon disney cable channel? That really made my day. :)

Do you know if it will be unedited episodes? (Would be nice but if it's being shown in the morning, it seems that it would be the edited episodes and no Deadly Force...). Then again, it hasn't started yet so I won't pass judgement until then.

Talon> The main objective that the Weird sisters had in "High Noon" was to steal the Phoenix Gate, the Eye of Odin and the Grimorum Acanorum for the Archmage. Stealing Coldstone was only done to mask the theft of these three talismans, and so they had no need for him in the long term and so they could allow Coldstone/Othello to stop Coldsteel/Iago.

Gargoyles on ABC family> This is great news, though it's a shame gargoyles isn't even being shown over here (in the UK).

Why did the Weird Sisters jerk Coldstone out of his lethargy in that episode where they stole him and were controlling Macbeth and Demona? Wasn't Coldsteel doing what they would have wished? Why were they inciting Coldstone to stop him?

"Disney's board announced it would separate the jobs of chairman and CEO tonight after 43 percent of Disney shareholders voted earlier today to oppose the re-election of chairman and CEO Michael Eisner. Eisner will remain as the company's chief executive officer while the board unanimously elected former Sen. George Mitchell as the company's new chairman. Eisner has faced growing calls for his resignation from among others, founder Walt Disney's nephew Roy Disney. "

What difference does that make? The senator is one of four people that Roy Disney is trying to get removed. Sounds like a puppet leader for the guy behind scenes to me. Guess it will depend on what happens down the road then(wish I knew how business works...).

Apparently people were thinking eisner may of gotten 20%, maybe 30% of the votes saying NO.

"More than 40% of Walt Disney Co. shareholders voted to withhold support from chairman and CEO Michael Eisner at the company's annual meeting today. The results, which are preliminary and subject to eventual adjustment, were announced at the close of Disney's annual meeting. Toon Zone has full coverage of the meeting."

From the toon zone forum.

Wonder if this would really change things or potentially substitute one bad apple for a really rotton apple...

* CONTESTS *

Calling writers and artists alike! We have extended the deadline of our Phoenix Gate Anthology contests to April 1st! If you thought you ran out of time or the deadline was too close to make it, you have an additional month! Don't slack off and let it creep up on you, we need submissions and we'd love to have yours! Remember, written entries should be about 2000-4000 words and have something to do with the Phoenix Gate. Any way you'd like to fit it in there is great! Artists have two options; black and white interior illustration (10 chances to win), or full color front cover illustration (only one chance to win). All entries should be letter sized, portrait orientation. For voting purposes, web-sized .jpgs or .gifs are fine. If your entry is chosen a printable file (300dpi) will be requested.

We also need entries for our official con T-shirt. You still have until May 1. T-shirt enries must include Riel, our mascot, and the words "The 8th Annual Gathering of the Gargoyles", "August 2004" and "Montreal, Quebec, Canada". If you like you can also include our slogan, "G04 it!" Images should be letter sized and can be portrait or landscape orientation. Web-sized .jpgs or .gifs should be submitted for voting purposes, and if your entry is chosen we'll request a printable file (300dpi).

New contest!

Music Video Contest
Show us your directing savvy by creating a Gargoyles music video! Files should be in .mpg, .avi or .mov format. You can either upload your file to the web for us to download and store or send it to us on a CD or VHS. Entries by mail must be sent to the P.O. box by July 1st. Don't be afraid to make those videos big and bold; we want to see gorgeous, high-quality large videos. Entries will be played and voted on at the convention by attendees. You do not have to attend the con to submit a video.

If you have any questions regarding contests, please drop a line to: contests@gatheringofthegargoyles.com.

* ART SHOW *

It's Fun!
It's Exciting!
It's Gathering 2004's Art Show!

Hey all you savvy Gargoyle artists! It's that time again where you get to show off your skills to all the con goers! Have you some new and exciting pieces to exhibit? Want an oportunity to sell your pieces or participate in the silent auction? This is the show for you!

This year our categories consist of:
- Canon Gargoyles Art (Characters from the show)
- Fan Gargoyles Art (Characters by the fans)
- Fantasy/Sci Fi

Awards will be given out in tons of categories such as pencil work, Black and white, Paint, marker, computer generated, Sculpture and various 3-D. And of course, a ribbon for the Best Of Show.

So how DO you enter is such a great contest? Why that's simple! Just sign up for an art panel when you register for the con then send your name, email and the amount of pannels you will be reserving. VOILA! You are ready to go!

Not going to the con? Well, as much as you'd be missed, you can still participate in the artshow by registering for your pannels and sending your contact info. You can ship your artwork to us (at our Canadian PO Box, info on the website) and we can take care of the rest.

Need more info? Check out the contest page on the Gathering Website. Still Have questions? You can send your info and any questions to: info@gatheringofthegargoyles.com.

Art panels are now available at $5.00 per panel so now is the time to reserve them.

Unfortunately, no art perviously exhibited in past Gathering Art shows are allowed to be entered this year. But this will be a wonderful opportunity to show us your new fresh ideas! So come on folks! Lets Get 'a Drawin'!

* ACCOMODATIONS *

No, this won't be the same blurb as usual about the hotel. Sure, we can tell you that is their Toll Free number 1-800-268-1133 or fax at 1-888-315-1515 and that you have to book before July 6th, 2004, but really, what's important to say here is that your staff went to visit the hotel last weekend and Jalapeno, were we impressed!

The recently renovated rooms are beautifully comfortable, roomy and all offer an impressive view of the city. The consuite is impressive as well, with a boardroom table and a large living room space, where people can hang out, have a few snacks, watch a video or two, and is perfect for holding the Blue Mug-a-Guest on Friday night.

The meeting rooms are amazing. We have large rooms for all our activities during the weekend, and almost all of them are right off the Terrace, the mezzanine level from which we will do registration and Artist Alley, and which will be ours for the entire weekend. The Dealers and the Art Show will share a long, gorgeous room that is perfect for such purposes: the dealer tables will be at the forefront of the room, well displayed and easy to browse and navigate, an at the back, a large raised dias for all the art show panels will make a perfect gallery. There is also a large Auditorium, which will be perfect for the Radio Play and the Auction. We will very soon have photos to show on the website of our visit to the hotel, so please check back often!

But that's not all! After we visited the rooms, we sampled some banquet choices as dinner and there is no other word to describe our reaction than, "Mmmmmmmm!!!" The full menu will be announced as soon as it is confirmed, and really, you WANT to be at this banquet. Not only will there be Q&A with our guests, the food alone should be reason enough to get you in here. It's a cheap price too for such a feast! And don't worry, if you have special dietary requirements, the hotel can easily accomodate you! Just let us know whn you register for the banquet in our form.

* Final Words *

Thanks for reading this far! News will come to you every two weeks from now on. If you have any suggestions you'd like to submit, email us at: suggestions@gatheringofthegargoyles.com.

Mooncat, I think the Magus' prejudice would be a combination of all those factors.

To those who answered my question, that sounds plausible. Demona was looking very tired and somehow older than usual when she discovered the massacre at Castle Wyvern.

I am sure that it must have been really weird for her to see the massacre AGAIN! That would surely drive her insane. Talkingof time travel though, it dealt the Archmage a real bonus (apparently) That would have been a pleasant surprise for any vicious megalomaniac
