Well, there's certainly been terrorist attacks around here as long as I can remember. Despite Al'Quaeda I actually feel safer now than during most of the 90s. See my quote from the 1984 Brighton conference. :)

Margaret Thatcher: "All attempts to destroy democracy by terrorism will fail. It must be business as usual."

Sorry for the double post, Meant to include this in the last one - head is spinning today.

My thoughts and prayers are in several places - In London after the Terrorist Attacks with the victims and their families - and down in Florida and other areas hit and soon to be hit by hurricane Dennis. All our garg fans down there take care of yourselves and check in as soon as you're able to, k?

Feelin' kinda left out this year, since I've made it to the last 3 out of 4 Gatherings and can't make it to this one.:-( Guess the upside is I won't lose my shirt, tail and wing stubs gambling *small one sided grin*
Wingless

I'm pretty sure the phrase "terrorist attack" pre-dates 9/11. There have been terrorists lurking about and launching attacks since before the Cold War ended. Munich Olympics, 1972. U.S. Marine Barracks, Beirut, 1983. Achille Lauro, 1985. That's just a small sampling.

Pre-registration for The Gathering 2005 ends today.

Usually I'm all for joining something like this... but this time, I'm staying well away from it. It might be because I'm tired and sore from work, but either way... not gonna touch it.
Although I do wanna say that attacks like what happened in London, before were not called terrorist attacks, until 9/11... I can't remember the thought process I took in getting to that point, as I realized it back in '01, but yea...
But I do find it a little unnerving (for myself) that I didn't get my feeling of 'something bad's gonna happen' this time. It really threw me off. But my condolences goes out to those affected by the attack. This is something that shouldn't have to happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Lord GargFan> The guy I mentioned played a character in "The Mighty Ducks" and I am wondering which one because he also played the characters listed in Gargoyles.

Lord gargfan>On a lighter note. if you click my link you can see how our gargoyle promotion went at anime expo this year. It was alot of fun. Now we hit comic con next week. Then the gathering. Handing on the stickers and tshirts was a blast.

According to Greg's timeline, Alex was born July 9, 1996.

The London attacks>I not going to name names or get involved in this "harry Potter" thing. But as a member of the armed forces I know that these terrorist don't care about morals or innocent people all they care about is their twisted
ideas. I should know, I got shot in the hand and the only thing I and the members of my unit was doing was fixing a tire on a truck.

If you don't have something nice to say don't say it at all....

I can't believe you people are still talking about this.

So he said something dumb. No big surprise there. I think you'll find the world's still spinning much as before, though. As comments and crackpot theories go, it's pretty dumb, but it's otherwise harmless.

Matt, please, the next time you want to talk about explosions and Harry Potter, please just tell us how much you like "Father of the Pride" instead, all right?

Whitbourne

Matt Fews : You know, your joke was mildly amusing the first time you said it. Now it's simply disturbing. Do you honestly belive that they would bomb London over Harry Potter? Either you're a troll who wants to get a rise out of us, or you're crazy, one of the two. Which one is it?
Spen

Watched my tape of "Vows" this afternoon. A few comments on it.

This is another episode that I enjoy. It provides a little medieval Scotland again, and introduces time travel via the Phoenix Gate (and the rules for time travel) into the series. Not to mention some great elements involving Goliath, Demona, and Xanatos.

Xanatos displays his usual chutzpah in the way that he and Fox so cheerfully defy the custom of not seeing the bride before the wedding ceremony. He's clearly enjoying the time loop that he set up to provide the foundation of his wealth. I still enjoy his interplay with Petros.

One of the most amusing moments in the episode is when Goliath is explaining to the Hudson of 975 about how he wound up going back in time and keeps on displaying a great deal of uncertainty over the proper tenses. (A bit reminiscent of a scene in Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide" series.)

I've said this before, but I still find it interesting that, when Demona-1995 is showing Demona-975 the devastation of the Wyvern Massacre in 994, she says that it was carried out by "the humans", rather than specifically naming them as Vikings. Which leads me to wonder whether Demona-975 thought that it was the humans of Castle Wyvern who killed the gargoyles. If so, that leaves open the possibility that she might have believed in 994 that Princess Katharine and her subjects were about to carry out such a massacre and that one of her motives in conspiring with the Captain to betray the castle to the Vikings was to thwart that event - and ironically helped bring it about.

Hudson is wearing his sword in 975, even though he doesn't acquire it until 994. (Incidentally, I wonder if anyone else has noticed that he tucks it in his belt in such a way so that the blade is making contact with it, without a scabbard to get in the way. How on earth does he keep his belt from getting severed by the sword's edge, under circumstances like that?)

One thing that I didn't pick up on until Greg mentioned it in his ramble is that Elisa was opposed to Goliath attending Xanatos's wedding, not just out of concern that it could be a trap, but also out of jealousy where Demona's involved.

And we see the Archmage again, with his craving for the three magical objects that will reach fruition in "Avalon". Note that Hudson's already onto the guy.

And we finally find out that the Illuminati exists (and that it's been around for a thousand years, and clearly has such a good filing system that it can keep track of instructions that it received in 975 to make use of in 1975 and 1995).

I just caught a really bad typo in my last post.

"I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die" - Mr. Garrison

As probably a second time poster, muli-year lurker and fan I just wanted to make a quick comment in regards to uneducated guesses and theories.

Matt> The al-Qaeda have been responsible for many many attacks, not just the well known larger ones that hit populated cities and make the front page of the paper and interrupt your daily viewing of Montell Williams.
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0884893.html
As they have already claimed responsibility, the idea that crazy Potterfiles blew up multiple buses is just plain...well, not justified. You're making yourself out to look like one of Jerry's Kids but no one wants to donate money to your cause or feel sorry for you.
The al-Qaeda don't care about anything but causing harm to bring fear and agony to the people they believe to be against them. They believe they are at war and will attempt to cause economic, personal and physical destruction to "win" this war.
I'd advise you to either read up on the news and keep up with the current goings on or just keep your guesses to yourself.

Anyway..:P

first time poster here, but I cgot somthing to say about Matt Fews. Is it possible for a person to be this dumb? Really I want to know. I've met a lot idoits but this takes the cake.
Alex Bishansky - [cyclonus@hotmail.com]

Matt>No, you need to re-read my post. I said, that it wasn't out of the realm of terrorists to target a place full of kids, such as a B&N at the midnight reading. That was NOT the intent, nor would it likely be. Terrorists rather target mass transportation and financial institutions to try and crumble the economy. Please don't put words in my mouth.
Siren

A better idea eh? You want a better idea?

Here, let's try this one.

Umm, it just so happens that England has troops on the ground in Afghanastan and Iraq. One of the very few countries that does in Iraq, and the only country with more troops in Iraq than the US's is England.

How's that for a better idea, you imbecile?

Greg Bishansky
"I just don't trust anything that bleeds for five days and doesn't die" - Mr. Garrison

Greg B, I don't have a learning disability, however unless you have a better idea of why London was targetted out of every city there is in this great big world of ours, I'd surely like to know about it.
Matt Fews

Todd and Spacebabie - thanks. Roscoe had his surgery on his leg today and thankfully that was the only major injury, there were no internal injuries. And he gets to come home tomorrow :)

Matt Fews: Apparently you didn't even read what I said. *sigh* I'm not gonna respond to you about the subject anymore, it's not worth it.

May God bless London during this difficult time.

This statement is false.

Also, hear, hear to Greg. And also to Kah's sentiments about the emergency services, who have done a superb job from all accounts.

Margaret Thatcher: "All attempts to destroy democracy by terrorism will fail. It must be business as usual."

Matt: In the past week, there's been a massive Live 8 conference in Hyde Park, commemorative displays for WW2 lighting up Buckingham Palace, and euphoria in the streets for the Olympic bid win. In the country at large, there's the Gleneagles talks, the associated riot fears (drawing police away from the south-east), and plans for Britain's EU presidency. Four times as many kids and adults tuned into the superb new 'Doctor Who' as will buy or order Harry Potter in the first 24 hours. I'm sure the book launch seems a huge events to all the fans, but in any sane perspective, it's hardly a blip on the radar.
Ed
Margaret Thatcher: "All attempts to destroy democracy by terrorism will fail. It must be business as usual."

Matt Fews> I am very, very, very sure that Todd and Siren don't think that terrorists attacked London over Harry Potter. Do you honestly think that, say Osama bin Laden is sitting in his cave plotting attacks on western civilians over the works of J.K. Rowling?

The fact is people died. Lots of people got killed, and you're saying or joking that it was over Harry fucking Potter! What the hell is wrong with you? Did your mom drop you on your head when you were a baby?

Do you know how many people died? Do you know how many were injured? They were using Double Decker Buses as fucking ambulances!!!! And here you are eating your fucking paint chips, drooling on your key board, and typing this shit!

Honestly, the thought of what you would have posted in here on the morning of September 11th frightens me.

Sigh. I'm going to ask you a question, please answer. Do you have a learning disability? There's no shame in that. If you do, I'll apologize for this post, and leave you alone from now on.

Kristen: You have my sympathies. Over ten years ago one of my dog's was hit by a car and it injured his leg...compound fracture. He was a year old at the time and that ruined his leg. He can walk but there are times when he favors that leg.

Matt Fewes: These are terrorists. They don't care about Harry Potter. Were you serious or trying to make a joke? Right now is NOT a good time to make a joke about it. People were killed and injured. What you posted would have been the same if aperson made a joke about The Turtles or Gargoyles right after 911.

Not to be mean or anything but do you have learning disability? I'm not making fun of anyone who does, but maybe if you told us about your health/ mental problems (if any) the people here would be more nicer to you. I myself have a small phsyological disorder.

"We're lost, but we're making good time!" - Yogi Berra

Siren, and just how are they going to ship out Book 6 without a network of transportation. Not only that but let's think of what was targetted with regards to Potterdom, a Double-decker bus/the Knightbus, a bunch of underground trains specifically around King's Cross Station where one goes to catch the Hogwarts Express.

Does everyone now understand?

Matt Fews: um... How can I explain this?....
You need to work on interpreting "social cues." Then you will understand why your little joke wasn't appreciated. :-/

Leo

MATT - Don't you mean "crazed Potter anti-fans", i.e., the people who believe that the books preach witchcraft and Satan-worship? They'd be more likely to want to disrupt things than the people who enjoy the books.
Todd Jensen

Matt Fews has a point, though I seriously doubt that was the objective of the terrorists. But imagine that. At the midnight reading, terrorists strike...who are they going to be killing? Children. Powerful stuff and not beyond terrorists, but this time, the bombings were to cause panic and stop mass transpertation.
Siren

Kirsten, Sorry but you must admit it does make sense that London, England was a target seeing that's were the whole Harry Potter phenom originated from and with Book 6 less than a week away, who's to say that the terrorists were no more than crazed Potter fans.

Oh man, what happened in London is terrible news. I hope they can overcome this tragedy and that the ones responsible are brought to justice.

DVD: I'm so glad we have confirmation! But "Gargoyles: The Animated Series - Season Two, Volume One"? Is that the name of the set? I hope they don't include "The Animated Series" part. It makes it sound too much like Batman...

Humans fear what they do not understand.

A little something about "Eye of the Beholder" now.

One thing about this episode that I find mildly amusing is not so much anything in the episode, as a fan comment that I saw here once. I'd mentioned a couple of years ago that I like to watch "Eye of the Beholder" each Halloween, and "Sanctuary" each Valentine's Day. Somebody (I forget who) commented that "Eye of the Beholder" would also be appropriate viewing for Valentine's Day, given its own romantic elements; Xanatos and Fox getting engaged, Xanatos discovering that he actually does love Fox, Goliath and Elisa having their dance at the Halloween block party with Elisa wearing Belle's ballgown. A very good point, and one that I hadn't even noticed before. Of course, the explicit setting on Halloween still makes me automatically associate it with that holiday first.

It's certainly enjoyable to see again, with all the little tidbits. (This is a particularly good episode for recurring characters: we get Mr. Jaffe the shopkeeper introduced in "Re-Awakening", Officer Morgan, Travis Marshall, the Xanatos Commandos, Vinnie, and Brendan and Margot.) And some good lines, especially "So now you know my weakness", followed by "Only you would regard love as a weakness."

We also find out for the first time that the Eye of Odin is magical - and how! (Another touch that I like is when Fox in her werefox form has Xanatos at her mercy, is about to lunge at him, when her eyes return to normal and she hesitates. Then the Eye flares up as if to quash that "rebellion" and she goes back to full werefox fury.)

They have a lot of fun with Xanatos's "Plan B", here winding up going well into the alphabet (especially in Elisa's comments on it).

And here we get the first hint of the eventual end of the war between Xanatos and Goliath, as they work together to save Fox (beginning the chain of events that culminates in "Hunter's Moon" when Xanatos welcomes the gargs back into the castle). Another touch that I like is when Goliath talks about the werefox endangering "my castle - my city" - indicating how he continues, after "Re-Awakening", to regard Manhattan as the modern-day equivalent of the old castle in terms of it being his protectorate.

My heart goes out to London. I can't stand these cowards that attack innocents for their own agendas.

When I heard it, it just made me numb. 9/11 hurt real hard for me. I didn't lose anyone, but it was just an emotional hit. Hearing this, it's just numb. Hard to describe it any other way.

I am glad to hear most people are not changing how they live and work and travel. With my family down here for my uncle's death, they still all plan to get on the planes and go back North. I am proud of them for doing that. I would to.

Siren

ED - I'm glad to hear that you're all right. I was really worried when I heard about the explosions in London today.

KIRSTEN - I'm sorry to hear about your beagle, and he'll definitely be in my prayers. I know how it is, also, to find it so strange to have him not there; I went through something similar last autumn when Obie (my tortoiseshell cat) was at the Cat Clinic being declawed and had to stay overnight.

I was going to post some thoughts on "Eye of the Beholder" (which I watched on tape this afternoon), but I'll save them for a little later.

Todd Jensen

PS: Matt Fews, that was totally inappropriate. Terrorism is not something to joke about.
Kristen - [zzilly14@yahoo.com]

My heart goes out to everyone affected by the explosions in London. I'll be studying abroad there from September to December, and while I'm now a little worried after this has happened, I'm still going to go anyway, and tell those evil terrorist scumbags that their stupid evil plan failed. We will NOT let them win!

*end rant*

Keep our beagle Roscoe in your thoughts and prayers. Last night he got away from my dad and ran into the street... ended up hit by a car. He survived thankfully, but his right back leg is broken. He's going into surgery tomorrow. It's so weird not having him around the house (he's staying at the vet overnight) and I feel so terrible for the poor puppy! He's around a year old and we've had him since September or October (I was away at college when my dad took the stray in and made him part of the family). Thanks guys.

Kristen - [zzilly14@yahoo.com]

Ed: Glad to see you're OK. Send me an e-mail. I think we've got a bit of catching up to do :)

My thoughts go out to all those involved today and a big thank you to the emergency services who, from the looks of things did an excellent job today.

Kahreen - [kahreen@btinternet.com]

Thankfully our friends in or around London have all turned up none the worse for wear, though there were a few hours of worrying silence until they could get to a phone.
The emergency services throughout all this have really proved themselves to be the heroes of the hour, along with the people of London who have dealt with the situation with a remarkable degree of courage.
It may be almost impossible to prevent an attack such as this, but I'm proud of my fellow Brits for the way they handled themselves during it.

MDY - [mdy21940@yahoo.com]

From the timing (morning, G8 conference), style (co-ordinated attacks on transport systems), the unchecked jihadist website making claims, and the statements by Blair and Livingstone, it's pretty clear that it's a some kind of jihadist group.

Best wishes to anyone out there stranded in the cities, on transport or in care after today's events.

Like the man said, "There are no problems; only solutions!"

Watched "The Silver Falcon" on tape today.

Greg Weisman mentioned in his ramble that he had Pal Joey in the role of the Dracon henchman ransacking Matt's apartment because he wanted a Dracon henchman that the audience wouldn't immediately recognize and thus realize that Dracon (as opposed to the Illuminati) was the one behind the Silver Falcon caper. (Which meant that the henchman couldn't be Glasses, who was far too memorable.) However, I can't help feeling that he unwittingly undercut that by including some Dracon footage from "Deadly Force" in the "Previously On" section (kind of like the mistake of including Macbeth in the "Previously On" section of "A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time").

There's a neat touch about Broadway learning how to read as a follow up to "Lighthouse", when we see him struggling over the note that Elisa left behind for him - particularly the pronunciation of the word "right" (understandable enough, in light of how it's spelled).

This time around, I realized that the "backup" that Elisa was talking about to Matt in the helicopter in Act III wasn't the police (I was originally thinking of Elisa telling Benton to send backup, but it was made clear at the end that she'd figured out by then that Benton was Tony's grandfather in disguise), but Broadway (who indeed does serve as a very effective backup).

And I still find myself getting a little dizzy just looking at Elisa and both Dracons moving about on that falcon sculpture so far above the city. If I was on that thing, I'd be clinging tightly to it with both hands with my eyes closed (and maybe even screaming bloody murder). I've got a bad head for heights.

We also get a brief glimpse at the beginning of how Elisa's learned her lesson from "Deadly Force", in how she shuts away her gun rather than just leaving it lying around where anybody could pick it up for a western reenactment.

And I'm still a little amazed that the "Gargoyles" production team would dare make Matt an ex-FBI agent right after making him a conspiracy buff....

One thing about "The Mirror" that I forgot to mention last night (it's something that I've brought up before, but there are always new people around since last time). How many of you, the first time that you saw "The Mirror", paid any attention to Demona saying to Puck, "You serve the human"? (I know that it completely slipped by me until *after* I saw "The Gathering".)

Count me as another person who's glad for the fresh DVD news. I'm certainly curious to see how much of the second season will get into Part One. I'm certain that it'll get up to "City of Stone" at least; let's see whether it gets up to "Avalon" as well.

I hope that "City of Stone" (all four parts), at least, gets a Commentary from Greg Weisman and maybe a couple of other production team members. A couple of other episodes, such as "The Mirror", would be great as well, but "City of Stone" having a commentary is an absolute must, IMO.

Siren >> Sorry to hear about your troubles. My grandma on my mom's side has gotten kinda nasty and has been making unprovoked comments since she moved out of her old apartment and into a new one closer to us. We're pretty sure she still has all her marbles, I mean I don't see any impending signs of dementia when I talk to her one-on-one...so it's hard to see her get so bitter. She resents my dad's side of the family and says the most ridiculous things about them. She tells my mom's brother and his wife that they're ruining my little cousin the way they're raising him...It's a pretty shitty thing to deal with. My mom doesn't wanna rock the boat too much, but at the same time she doesn't wanna let herself become a doormat. She and my uncle have started letting my grandma know how they feel and it's really causing a lot of friction. I try not to be home too often when I know certain mixes of family members are coming over. I just thought I'd relate a somewhat similar situation, though yours sounds like she's even more off her rocker.

And in good news: Thanks for the link Greg B. Glad to see confirmation from Greg about the type of release. Hoping they only split Season 2 into two parts. I'm not sure I've ever seen a North American animated series be released in season sets that're split up into anything more than two parts (I'm not including things that got the 1-DVD volume treatments). Nope--Transformers, Thundercats, Jem, G.I. Joe...all of 'em had seasons released in only one or two volumes.

Hey we can't format text, can we? 'Cause bare bones features like bold, italics, and linking would be awesome (I know, I shouldn't be asking for anything more after Gore just gave us this new comments room).

Greg B. " I wouldn't hold your breath for the whole thing out at the same time unless they do a massive box set." Well, as I said in the other CR, the Rocky and Bullwinkle season 2 DVD had all of its episodes relesed, so Gargoyles season 2 might do that as well.

Thank you all for your concern.

kjay>No, I am not sick of the "sorry to hear of your loss", yet. Too early. But thank you.

Todd>Please don't feel guilty. The best way to get through it is to get back to "normal" sooner rather then later.

Anyways, to distract myself, I finished a video I started 2 days ago. It was a lot harder then I expected, which after today, was good. Because I didn't really want to get it done quickly. It is a character study of Demona. I was really experimenting with the program, especially on the "dream sequance". That's what took most my time, but I wanted to do more then just "blue" it up and slow it down. I wanted to give it a dream like feel. And last night, I dreamt in slow motion, and like in slo-mo, the image is repeated, so that's what took me so long. But it turned out all right I guess. The timeing was hard and it is off in a few minor places. I see one transition is off, but f*** it right now. It's done. I'll fix it later. I had started listening to the song again a few weeks ago and it struck me as a Demona song. It is I Stand Alone from Godsmack.
Anyways, click my name or copy and paste http://www.sirens-grotto.com/istandalone.wmv

On a lighthearted moment here...Demona's hair in Reawakening, when she is casting the spell is very Tina Turner-ish

siren>I know that you're tired of hearing "Sorry for your loss" but I know how you feel. A few years ago I lossed my Aunt and my Grandmother(who raised me after my mother died when I was seven) almost eight months a part. My aunt died unexpectently dec 10th 2000 at 50 2 weeks after a simple lung surgury. Then my grandmother died on her 85 birthday augest 23 2001. She was just lying on the bed resting and watching t.v. My sister and I went in her room to check on her, and her very last words were "Oh I'm just tired". I performed CPR on her until the ambulance came. Then they worked on her for a good 45 mintues before they said she was gone. We didn't even get a chance to cut the birthday cake. I was depressed and angry for months. I blamed myself for a long time before I realized that everything happened the way it did because it was GOD's way of telling me that it was her time to go. She wasn't sick and she didn't die in pain. She's in a better place now with her two daughters. She took care of me most of my life and lived to see her great-grandchildern. So it's not as bad as it seems. Just focus on the positive things and you'll get through this hard time in your life. It might take some time but you'll over come it.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Siren.

After a recent family tragedy has struck one of us, I feel a little guilty in engaging in a "Gargoyles Review", but I'd seen my tape of "The Mirror" this afternoon, so I'll just go over it briefly.

A few things that stood out to me this time:

One of the funniest elements in it is how, when Elisa's transformed, she believes that it's everyone else who's been turned into something, immediately crying out that Goliath's been turned into a gargoyle and then thinking that all the New Yorkers have been turned into humans, thereby making things all the more complicated for poor Goliath, who's already got his hands full just trying to figure out how Elisa got transformed!

Puck demonstrates how Third Race magic can blend with human technology very effectively, when he uses the antennas atop the World Trade Center to help him extend his transformation spell to take in all of Manhattan.

Just after all the humans have been turned into gargoyles, we see a "cityscape" where the clouds appear to be swirling about the World Trade Center - almost a side effect of Puck's spell?

After seeing how Puck granted Demona's wishes, I'd say that Xanatos showed excellent judgment in choosing a lifetime of service from Owen over a wish from Puck. (Then again, maybe Puck wouldn't have distorted Xanatos's wish the way that he did Demona's, out of professional courtesy.)

Another thing that occurred to me for the first time today: as if Cleopatra's Needle isn't suffering enough from air pollution damage in New York City, now it undergoes the additional harm of Demona climbing up it in Act I, digging her talons into its sides! I wonder what the museum staff is going to make of that when they discover the gougings.

There's so much more that I could say about the general entertainment of Puck's introduction, not to mention the impact that the episode has on Goliath, Elisa, and Demona, but I've probably said all that before, so I'll sign off here.

Shara Mordinae - [jeanie54_2000@yahoo.com]

My uncle died last night due to complications during surgery. He was 53 and this was his third surgery to help with his back. He had been wearing a halo for several months and was in a 20 hour surgery. At some point, he stopped breathing and then his heart stopped, and they had to cut open his throat, but it was too late. At least he will no longer be in pain. My grandmother, his youngest daughter (12 years old), and his "adopted" daughter (17 years old), are taking it the worst. I really think my grandmother won't last much longer. This has been a terrible blow. She and his youngest daughter broke things. My grandmother even broke her treasured rosaries and religious statues and ripped her bible. I feel so out of place. It's just weird right now, for lack of better words. But don't be surprised if I say my grandmother passed away soon. I really can't see her living through this now. She is on oxygen machines and all kinds of medications. She's talking about killing herself. I want to take her to the hospital. I know she won't go. But I think if we Baker Act her, she'll find a way to do it anyways. All she has to do is not do her medication or oxygen or take too much medication. We're going to have to lock it all up till she can cope. But I have so many mixed feelings. I feel horribly guilty. My uncle wasn't exactly a saint. He tried to do nice things, but he was a leech. Stole money from my daughter's piggie bank when she was just 4 years old. Took money from my grandmother all the time, so she couldn't even buy her own medication. My uncle was her "golden child". But he was still my uncle, and I still loved him. It was just some of his ways that drove me crazy. Now my grandmother is making my mother's life even MORE of a living hell. She is blaming my mom for him dieing alone because she didn't visit him yet. Forget the fact that she was already set to visit him today. And the fact that he died on the operating table, so no matter what, he died without his family members, even if they were at the hospital. It's so f***ed up right now. There are days where it's like we have a 78 year old infant, who instead of just crying and screaming, she is insulting and hateful. She doesn't have a disease that causes her to do this. Her mind is very much there, it is her body that fails her. So when she says it, it's hard to brush it off, like it was with my grandad who did have demtia. But my grandmother is all there, and she still says these hateful things. While my uncle held out his hand for money and never said a thank you, she calls my mother selfish and looking for pity. So god, I hate myself, so much. I hate myself so much to say this, but my other uncle shares my thoughts and we confided in eachother. That when my grandmother passes, life will be easier. My mother probably has cancer and she needs the same surgery my uncle who just died got. But she can't even go to the doctor to check on the tumor on her leg because the moment she says she is going somewhere that didn't involve helping my deceased uncle, my grandmother would have another "attack". It was a real attack, but she would cause herself to. By not taking her medication or oxygen. It just really sucks. I hate myself for thinking this way. I am all for helping my parents when they are elderly and need help, but call me selfish, but if I had a hard tumor the size and hardness of a baseball on my thigh, I'd tell my sister to come over and tell mom and dad I'll see them later, I have an appointment. No one else in my family will come over to watch her, save my sister, but my sister has 2 kids and a job and can't always come. While my other uncle always makes excuses. And I live here, with my parents and grandparents, I am all for staying with her and watching her. But I'm not good enough. She needs to keep my mom here 24/7 practically, even though she says horrible things to her and is ungrateful. I'm sorry for ranting, but right now is not the time to do it to my family.

San Diego> The SDCC website (click my name) has put up its full program schedule for 2005. It looks like Greg Weisman will be doing a panel with Slave Labor and I think we all know what he'll be talking about. So that's good news, right? Well, mostly. The bad part is that this panel overlaps with a "Teen Titans" Q&A and voice actor script reading which I would REALLY like to see. This is going to be a tough decision.

Hehe Just got back from anime expo.

Had much fun.

It was interesting how everyone their was happy to see gargoyles. We passed out about 200 of the promotional gargoyles gathering stickers and a few tshirts.

If anyone is attending comic con and wants to help promote gargoyles let me know.

All we did was set the gargoyle cosplayer up in a small place and everyone kept gatherng and taking pictures for a bout an hour. We gave stickers out to everyone who took pictures.

Have patience everyone, we'll have the whole thing on DVD soon enough.

I'm totally psyched about the DVD's/comics coming out. I know there are a lot of episodes in season 2 but I kind of want them all to come out at the same time maybe in different volumes. You know before they change their mind about releasing them all! By the way for anyone out there going to the con, it was 106 degrees in Vegas yesterday - pack lite!

Just a quick FYI that in the archives, last week's archives don't appear, but rather are showing this week's comment room for some reason.

Not sure why, but the backup process did run fine and last week's real CR is in there, I just need to figure out what's up. I've got a party today so I probably won't be able to fix it until tomorrow.
