Deadly Force>This may have been said already, too tired to read it all.

I NEVER felt the episode was "guns. bad." It was an episode for BOTH children and gun owners. Not just parents! Elisa is not a parent, she is a single woman. So she had no fear of keeping her gun out. I am sure a lot of single gun owners do the same thing. But is that smart to do when a guest is over? Even a friend. Especially someone who doesn't know how to handle a gun. Its best to lock it up just in case. THAT was the lesson for gun owners. Lock them up.

For kids, it was more obvious, don't play with guns.

I always respected the writing on that episode because any other show that talked about kids and guns always talked down, made gun owners always seem like morons or criminals. Elisa is a good cop. The best. She made a mistake. She's human. And she knew Broadway made a mistake.

Just calling in to say that I agree with "Deadly Force" being about gun *responsibility* rather than gun *evil*. That episode is one of the best Very Special Episodes I've ever seen, and I'd count on it not to deliver such a transparent message.

It's hard for me to pick a favourite batch of episodes, because I'm always either totally loving an episode, or reall "eehhhh....". I tend to prefer ones that centre around gargoyles, though I also like "Eye of the Beholder", and, uh, a few others. But the answers would be very cliche.

Favourite singles: "Eye of the Beholder", "Temptation", "Deadly Force", "The Mirror", "Ill Met by Moonlight", "Legion", "A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time", "Vows", and others I probably can't remember.

I didn't really enjoy most of the World Tour, and I am probably the only fan who found "Future Tense" too over the top.

"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to dream" -- Shirley Jackson

"Deadly Force"> You are certainly entitled to your opinions, Rebel and I can somewhat see where you're coming from. But I have to disagree with you. Especially considering the fact that it's part of an animated show ostensibly aimed at children, "Deadly Force" is probably the most even handed look at gun issues on television. Is it perfect? No. I agree that Dr. Sato sighing and saying "Guns" is kind of beating the audience over the head with the point. (I feel the same way about some lines in "Lighthouse". But how many other shows for a kid or family audience can you think of that have done an episode on guns that didn't end with the assertion that all guns are evil and the world would be a better place if we just threw them all away? The actual message of "Deadly Force" is much much different. Broadway does have a couple of lines that come close to "guns are bad", but he's speaking out of anger, grief, and guilt. He does still hate guns by the end of the episode, but I imagine that any person who was in his situation would have a similar lifelong aversion to guns. he does not turn into a rampaging anti-gun crusader seeking to destroy all the guns in the world no matter who's pointing them at who. He never tells Elisa that she shouldn't have a gun because they're bad. And Elisa still carries a gun for the rest of the series, a gun that she eventually uses to save Broadway's life in "The Price". All that changes for her is that she keeps her gun safely locked up when she'd at home, which people with all points of view on guns seem to agree is a good thing to do. That's it. No hood guys flinging their guns into the oceans, no big speeches about how much better off we'd all be if we got rid of our guns. Just one gargoyle with an understandable dislike for guns which he has under control and one cop who is practicing better gun safety. I'd call that pretty reasonable.

Angela on Elisa and Goliath> From everything we've seen, she wants them to be together. She had the whole World Tour to observe them and get to know them. And she seemed pretty unhappy to find Elisa dating someone else in "Bash". I think Greg W. has said that Angela doesn't particularly regard Elisa as a mother figure, probably due to her age and species. But she likes her and even looks to her for advice from time to time.

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

I think Angela is a bit conflicted. On one hand, she loves Elisa like and elder sister and knows that Elisa and her father would never be happier with anyone else (she has a fairly rosy view of the world being raised on a utopian island by loving, caring humans, so the inter-racial- or is it species?- i prefer racial- doesn't bother her in the least). On the other hand, she knows her mother as well and somewhere deep inside she would of course want to see Demona redeemed- she did try to talk with her mother and get to know her in the Labyrinth. Children of divorce...

She knows what is true and best in her heart, but there's always that nagging feeling in the back of her mind.

Just another layer that makes this tale great!

chris
why do we build castles in the sky?

Angela was raised by Princess Katherine, Tom and the Magus. So Angela seeing Goliath and Elisa together should be somewhat normal for her.

When Angela first met Goliath and Elisa, they were a couple, even if they were the only ones who didn't know it. It was obvious to everyone else. So, yeah, Angela is more than cool with it.

Darkangel> Judging by her actions during "Bash," I'd say she's rather accepting of Goliath and Elisa's relationship. And she had a lot of time to observe them during the world tour, and afterwards.
Asatira

Deadly force truley was an awsome episode, damn disney for taking it off just because it actually teaches kids a good lesson. Ok new topic what does everyone think Angela thinks about Goliath and Elisa being togetgher I have always wondered about this.
DarkAngel

Rebel> It seems you get a lot of superficial impressions from the show. This is not a knock, but I am basing this on comments you have made here in the past.

My assessment of it is more about the "feel" of the episode (and of many of the other episodes). Nobody ever comes out and says "Hey, guns are evil", but that's still the impression that I get.
Rebel

I love "Deadly Force" and I agree with those of you saying it is about gun responsibility (and responsibility in general) and not about guns being evil.
That said, Dr. Sato annoys me in this episode when he is performing surgery on Elisa and mutters "Guns..." as if that is the only thing in the world that causes bodily harm. I mean, if Elisa would've been hit by a car, would he have muttered "Cars..." as if we should ban them or something? Maybe this is just Dr. Sato's opinion or something, but it rubs me the wrong way and really conflicts, IMHO, with the general idea of the episode.

"Let this mark the beginning of a Golden Age! Between all our clans, both Human and Gargoyle!!!" - Macbeth, "City of Stone"

I would agree that the assessment of "Deadly Force" as being about "the evils of guns" is incorrect. The moral of the story was to be responsible with them. A gun is a tool, just like a knife or a chainsaw or a hammer or a monkey wrench. Those things can kill, too, if used maliciously, yet no one ever talks about making laws to ban them.

I find it hard to pick a favorite episode. There are many episodes that I like for different reasons. I see some people hating on "Monsters," but I like that one despite some of the poor animation. The "Gargoyles" version of Nessie is definitely better than the one seen in "The Simpsons". ;)

"And the National Rifle Association says that, 'Guns don't kill people, people do,' but I think the gun helps, you know? I think it helps. I just think just standing there going, "Bang!" That's not going to kill too many people, is it? You'd have to be really dodgy on the heart to have that..." - Eddie Izzard, "Dressed to Kill"

Rebel: Elisa was shot in "Deadly Force" because both she and Broadway were careless with guns. They say as much at the end. It's less about the evils of guns, and more about the evils of not being careful with them.

I'm not a member of the NRA, but I am pro-second amendment. I also thought Michael Moore's documentary was manipulative and full of holes. The main reason we have so many gun accidents is because many people are not acting like responsible adults with them. Hell, when I went out for my first driving lesson, my grandfather told me point blank that an automobile was a lethal weapon.

Sorry, didn't mean to go off-topic there, or repeat what others said already. It's just that there's a lot of "evils of guns" stuff floating around, and I'd hate to think of "Deadly Force" to be counted among that. Because it doesn't deserve to be.

"It's the nexus of the crisis, and the origin of storms. Just the place to hopelessly encounter time, and then came me." -Blue Oyster Cult ("Astronomy")

Favorites (single episodes):
The Mirror (though I'm still not crazy about how the clan looks as humans)
Future Tense
Nearly everything from the first season

Least Favorites:
Vendettas - I don't hate either part of the episode on its own, but combining Vinnie's more comedic desire for revenge with the second return of the person most directly responsible for the Wyvern massacre just left me feeling like the second storyline didn't get enough attention.
Protection - Not so much for the introduction of "jalapena", but because I felt like I knew what was going on long before the episode got there and the whole thing just seemed on the dull side.

Demonskrye - [demonskrye(at)gmail(dot)com]

I never really got the anti-gun message in "Deadly Force" or the rest of the series I got the "don't leave your gun out in the open fully loaded" message loud and clear, which is good advice, and the "don't play with guns" message as well. I never felt the show was depicting guns as anything else buyt a tool. Broadway hates them, sure, but I think they make it pretty clear he hates them largely in part because he's ashamed of what he did with one. I always thought Broadway's hatred of guns was kind of like Lexington's of the Pack. Both are based in shame from misinterpretations they made themselves, and very serious consequences that followed.
David - [souiofangelus at aol dot com]

Least favourite episode? Without a doubt "Monsters" would be at the bottom of the list. Other than Sevarius, I can't really think of any good things about this episode. The fact that this is the only episode of "Gargoyles" (or any show for that matter) that really affected my life in any serious way probably has a lot to do with it.

Other than that, I gotta' say that I really disliked "The Green", primarily due to my deep-seated hatred of environmentalists.

Spen

It's really hard to pick a favorite episode but if I had to pick, it's probably Future Tense with The Mirror as a close second.

My favourite episodes are probably High Noon, Shadows of the Past, The Green, and the Reckoning. My least favourites are Enter Macbeth, Lighthouse, The Silver Falcon...

Noodles, anyone?

Hmmm . . . favorite eps.

Well, got to love the multi-parters. Each of them have amazing moments in the Gargoyle Universe -- I'm currently thinking of the Massacre, Demona & Co fighting in that forest of fire, The Magus's death, Oberon trying to beat up the Eyrie Building, and of course, Goliath losing Elisa at the Dam.

Those weren't the only amazing moments in those multi-parters, but those are some of my favorites.

Among the single-part episodes I know that "Revelations" is a particular favorite. I also love "Long Way to Morning," "Vows," "The Mirror," "The Price," and "Kingdom," -- heck, I even love "Vendettas" (what can I say, gotta love Vinny).

And of the comics, I just have to say that I really enjoy "Nightwatch" and "The Journey" -- evewn though every comic that follows has been AMAZING, I heve to give credit to Greg Weisman for writing such a wonderful introduction to his third season. I couldn't help but read those two Chapters of Clan-Building when I got the TPB.

"The Suspense is Terrible . . . I Hope it Lasts" -- Willy Wonka

I'd say my favorite episodes are ones with flashbacks. Except Shadows of the Past, that one always bugged me.
Sebastian

The three "Hunter's Moon" episodes were my favorite; very grand, epic scale to them. And of course, an awesome ending to it all... I really liked how it provided a fitting ending to the series (even though it continued on for season 3).
Kyle

Rebel> Your assessment of "Deadly Force" is so far off the mark, I wonder what show you were watching. It was about gun responsibility, not "the evils of guns," and I say this as an NRA member.

Why crush and destroy guns in later episodes. Well, should the bad guys be able to pick them up? Or just leaving them there for other people to find?

Greg Bishansky
"Leonardo was a great Italian, and that was our name originally, Leonardo. But many years ago, when my grandpa came over from Sicily, they changed it at Ellis Island to Leotardo. Because they're stupid, that's why, and jealous. They disrespected our proud Italian heritage and named us after a ballet costume." - Phil Leotardo

"Deadly Force" is a favorite episode of mine and I have to disagree with your assessment, Rebel. I don't think the episode is preachy in the least, which is unusual for a cartoon series. I have never gotten an anti-gun vibe from the show even in "Deadly Force". The episdoe is about gun safety, not about "the evil of guns". Like you said, guns are tools, but they are very dangerous ones and need to be treated responsibly and with respect- which Elisa and Broadway both failed to do. Yes, Goliath and especially Broadway dislike guns(and who can blame them?). It's a facet of their characters. But the show itself isn't anti-gun. Elisa carries a gun around with her all the time, it's a part of who she is- and I love the irony that she saves Broadway's life with her gun in "The Price".

As for favorite eps- The Mirror, Eye of the Beholder, Hunter's Moon, City of Stone, High Noon, Awakening, and Deadly Force top my list. Some of the most beautiful animation I think are in "The Edge", "Reawakening", "High Noon", and "The Price"

Least favorite-I find the "Lighthouse in the sea of time" a bit preachy, I don't particularly care for "Long way to morning" either. I like the flashback stuff, but the present stuff with Demona chasing Goliath and Hudson around is kind of dull. Vendettas is at the top though.

Purplegoldfish - [Skydragonn at aol dot com]

My least favorites I guess would be "Deadly Force" and "The Silver Falcon". Sorry, I'm just not a big fan of Broadway. I also don't like the whole omg-anti-gun message of "Deadly Force". Guns are a tool, like any other, and are not inherently evil and should not be portrayed as such. But after "Deadly Force" the gargoyles were pretty anti-gun, it seemed (except for that moment when Lex blew a hole through Coyote). Though I guess the fact that nobody in the clan is ever opposed to Elisa or Matt having a gun sorta throws a wrench in my opinion. Still, they mostly just seemed a little destroy-happy when it came to guns.

I am not too crazy about some of the world tour episodes, either. "Long Way to Morning" had an awesome story, but god-awful animation.

~~~
I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of the "Awakening" episodes. Those were awesome. Another favorite for me is "Upgrade", even though I sometimes don't like Brooklyn...though I think most of the reason why I dislike him sometimes is because SOO many people like him (I feel this way about a lot of characters...if a character has too many fans, I'll often decide to like another character, for example I hate Mickey Mouse but love Donald Duck).
Rebel
I'm gonna be honest. I can't really name favorite episodes. But any episode that focused more on Hudson, Demona, or MacBeth were always more interesting to me.
Ozzie Arcane - [ozziearcane at yahoo dot com]
"Hello Booby! This is a trap!" - Eggplant Wizard
aw... but Deadly Force was just about banned by Disney- which makes it all the more fun ;) And it's the first episode in which Goliath strokes Elisa's hair -I believe, but I may be wrong.
to each their own. Probably be cursed for blasphemy since it's a huge chunk of Wiesman's Future arc, but I'm personally not a fan of the whole alien story. I can only suspend my disbelief so far. Fantasy/Science/Magic- I'll buy that. But throw in aliens on top of it? Seems like a step too far.
favorite would be "the Green" b/c i love the Mayan clan and the message about protecting the rain forest is very important to me. Others i really like are "Futue Tense" and "High Noon"
Worst would be "Deadly Force", "The Silver Falcon" and "Vendettas"
There are a few episodes i've never been keen on. They are Vendettas, Sentinel, The New Olympians, M.I.A and Vows I've only watched these episodes twice.
Vicky82 - [Vickyfanofwwe at aol dot com]
I know this is blasphemy in some ways, but I don't care for "A Lighthouse in a Sea of Time". I'm all about literacy, but this ep drives me nuts. "Vendettas" isn't a favorite, but it has grown on me a bit. I used to hate "The Silver Falcon", but now I think it is one of the best episodes, go figure.
"Let this mark the beginning of a Golden Age! Between all our clans, both Human and Gargoyle!!!" - Macbeth, "City of Stone"
Mirror, definitely Mirror- as a matter of fact I have a really awesome screenshot of Elisa as a gargoyle as my comp's background. Close second would be The Eye of the Beholder. I love episodes with the really good animation.
I have to say my favorite animation sequences come in Hunters moon. Favorite animation sequences- the clan awakening after Angela's nearly killed- the detail on Goliath is amazing- you can really see the weight of his wings (instead of them just kinda tacked on like they sometimes look) and the scene where Jason kidnaps Elisa- When he drugs her, the entire images just fall beautifully into place.
How about *least* favorite episodes- I know we all have them...;)
chris
why do we build castles in the sky?
I think my favorite single episode would have to be "The Mirror". But then again, I'm pretty much a big fan of any episode that features Demona. One thing I didn't like about "The Mirror" was that in a few scenes that animation was REALLY off, making Demona look anorexic. But overall, I liked it a lot.
Rebel
If you can count City of Stone as one episode, then that is definitely my favorite. If not, then it's "The Price" with "Long Way to Morning" being a close second.
Phoenician - Thanks for the kind words about Macbeth. I actually am in the process on closing a deal for the base figure for armored Thailog. Wish me luck on that endeavor!
Battle Beast - I was thinking about using a Gambit figure for Macbeth, and in a stroke of pure luck, the first e-bay lot I found with Gambit in it also had a Ghost Rider figure called "Johnny Blaze" in it. The figure was PERFECT for Macbeth, aside from the color and lack of a raised collar, both of which were easy to take care of. Sometimes you're just lucky.
If anyone is interested in hearing, let me know and I'll lay out my next few custom projects I have on the drawing board.
I like Monsters because I like the story and I'm interested in Goliath and Angela's Father/Daughter relationship. I remember that I missed this episode the first time it came on so I didn't know that Angela was Goliath's Daughter untill Sanctuary, so when I finally watched it for the first time (a year later) I enjoyed it but Hunters Moon will always be my favourite episode.
They don't just make one episode at a time.
That's why they have a huge staff of writers, a few directors (though these days it's customary to have 2 directors and have them alternating. In Cartoons anyway, depending on the number of episodes.) and then all the animation. The directors aren't just sitting on their thumbs waiting for the writers to finish, or for the animation to come back. It's a huge circle, and they're all constantly churning things out.
Anonymous
Anyone familiar with the production process of the show?
I read something an articles about the Simpsons once that detailed the creation of an episode of the show; the time it took to make an episode (including getting everything animated, recording all the voice acting, wrapping it up together, etc) was pretty amazing. It said it took months! I never understood how they could churn out 20+ episodes a season.. and then I look at a show like Gargoyles, which aired five times a week! Wouldn't that mean that the production process has to be five times faster? Or did it just mean they had bigger teams?
Please, someone enlighten me!
Anyway...
Most of the clan could probably wear pants (except for Hudson, for the obvious reason that he already DOES), but it might be problematic for Lex.
They had to pierce his wings so he could have a loincloth, so pants would be a bit more of an inconvenience for him. Last I check, Lexington can't move his wings quite like, say, Brooklyn or Goliath could.
Has anyone ever asked why the Manhattan clan doesn't switch to pants instead of those weird loin cloth things?
DarkAngel> No, Greg will never read fanfic. To be honest, he just doesn't want to. He has mixed feelings on it in general. On the one hand, he loves that his series inspired people the way it did, but on the other, he's a bit territorial and doesn't like to see anyone control the destiny of his characters.
I can understand that. I am writing a couple of screenplays, and I have created my own characters that I really love, and honestly, I would never have any real desire to read other people's fanfiction about them.
Algernon> I think a big reason the X-Men cartoon came out that way is because the X-Men is a team based series. Batman is about a single hero, it's alittle easier to put most of the backstory in with that situation. Could you imagine how many episodes it would take to explain the backstory for all the X-Men?
On a side note though, they help you understand Jubilee's somewhat simple backstory right off the bat and maybe that's why she was my favorite. She was easier to identify with then the other members of the team.
Also, basicly all the DC stuff Bruce Timm was involved with was awesome. I never really liked Superman till I saw the cartoon.
Whatever happenned to simplicity?
It's good to finally get some sort of Season 3 action. I was one of those people that immediately bought both Dvd's, and I'm still waiting on the third. And I guess I'll just have to keep waiting. Lumpmoose> To be fair, the Reuters article and the Joystiq article that regurgitates it are both talking about voice acting for video games specifically, not in general. You have to agree that video games have somewhat more limited prestige (although they are gaining popular culture currency -- a trend to which the fact that so many big actors are getting involved now would attest).
I heard about Mass Effect, but I didn't know Keith David was doing so much other video game work these days. (I mostly hear him in commercials and documentaries.) I love all these big-name actors giving a little gloss to games, though -- to many otherwise nice games are ruined by high school drama club rejects, and it's just not right. John Rhys Davies doing the voice over narration made Quest for Glory 4 for me. (Not that it wasn't already a fantastic game, but his narration was a great treat.)
Todd> When it comes to comic book adaptations, I've always been of the opinion that it's best to assume that the bulk of your audience isn't familiar with the property. This was one of the problems I had with the nineties X-Men cartoon. it seemed to assume that the audience already knew about the characters and their backstories, which really bugged me as I had never picked up a comic in my life by that point. By contrast Bruce Timm's Batman series was presented in such a way that even the five guys who'd never heard of Batman could get into it.
Given that Greg will probably introduce the various characters and concepts as if it was a completely new concept.
I've sometimes wondered if it's better to know a lot or a little about the original comic book when you watch an animated adaptation of it. Since the production team often make a lot of changes in their adaptation, having only a general familiarity with the original story might be safer. On the other hand, it's often fun to see how they've reinterpreted the original. (When I go to a movie based on a book, I often read or reread the book that it's based on in advance, to prepare myself.)
Me too. I like Spider-Man already and I know Greg and everyone else involved with he show are going to do a great job of giving the character his due.
By the way, if anyone wants to check out the original source material or just read some fun comics while we wait for more "Gargoyles", pop on to Amazon or your book seller of choice and search for "Essential Spider-Man" The ones you want are the books with the big black bar down the left side and the word "ESSENTIAL" in white. Each volume has over 20 issues of classic Spider-Man comics. And because they're printed on newsprint in black and white, they're relatively in expensive. Greg's mentioned reading through these volumes to prepare for the show, so if you want to catch any obscure references there might be to the original comics, check these out.
Frankly, I don't put much stock in such silliness, even if I DO end up being on track with my dream about the Gathering opening ceremonies, I'd still say it was a coincidence. I'd have to really do something amazing to convince myself. Like if I dream tonight that Genghis Khan and an anthropomorhic, talking hummingbird emerge from a portal and together work to have Nebraska succeed from the United States and then go on to colonize the surface of the Sun and then it all actually happens, I may begin to think I have some gift.
Here's a Reuters article on video game voice acting that showcases Keith David: http://www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSWRI14206320080131?pageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=10004
It's quite insulting because it concludes that Keith resorts to voice acting roles because he can't make it in 'real' acting jobs, which I'm sure Keith--and any other talented voice actor--would never agree with.
Here's a Joystiq blog post about it that's just as insulting: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/02/03/video-games-give-b-list-actors-a-second-chance/
Videos & subtitles> I've seen videos where one set of subtitles was at the bottom and the other was at the top... Is WMM set up to handle that, or would both have to be at the bottom?
Kerry (Kth) Boyd - [Kth_dragon at hotmail dot com]
@Windows Movie Maker and Japanese: I honestly don't know- I've never tried to do subtitles in anything other than English. If you have the characters installed (if you can type in the characters in a word processing program) then you may be able to use them in WMM. I know WMM let's you use any font you have installed, but non-English characters are more complicated than fonts.
Also, you might have a problem doing two subtitles at once. WMM only has one track for Title cards. While WMM does have the "subtitle" title setting, you would have a bit of a time trying to overlay the titles at the correct time, and you would probably have to make serious size differences between the two so that the subtitles didn't overlap.
-If that last paragraph didn't make sense,don't worry about it; it will become clearer as you use the program.
As for other people new to Windows Movie Maker and starting to make videos, I put together a WMM Tutorial last year (for people with Vista- some of the tutorial will not apply, but I haven't had time to put together a new one).
Just saw a half-hour program about Scotland on PBS, which included visits to Iona (where St. Columba built the first church in Ireland, and which is the burial place for most of the early kings of Scotland - including Macbeth, according to the program) and Loch Ness. It also visited the sites of two tragic events in Scottish history which haven't yet made it into "Gargoyles" (but which might eventually, if the comic lasts long enough - let us hope): Glencoe and Culloden. It ended on a lighter note, with the Highland Games (including traditional Scottish dancing, and the caber toss).
I've been making some ground in spreading the word. I'm not sure what the general demographic is in the room, but my peers and I in their early twenties all seem to remember the series and I've been bringing it up. I got my best friend re-hooked on the show and I'm going to allude to her that I'll buy her the TPB once we're finished with season two, then offer to tack her comic orders onto mine.
I was thinking that since you've all mentioned (and I'm experiencing) the difficulty in acquiring these books for people who are just that side of being active fans, it might be easier to offer to do something similar. By saying at lunch, "Hey guys, I'm ordering my books and paying the shipping already, do you want in?" you take the burden of their slight disinterest away and tack on the sales.
Some crazy thoughts I've had lately;
Greg has recently said that sales are low, and he'll be lucky to get issue 12 and Bad Guys 6 out to us. Bad Guys allows him to flesh that idea out more, The current Stone of Destiny story allows him to introduce Pendragon's cast, and the upcoming Gate story will finally give me a definitive look for Katana, Nashville, and maybe Tachi. Has anybody else considered that he might use it to at least get a look down for Samson's crew in 2198? I mean, if he wanted to give us an idea of the scope of Brooklyn's adventures, imagine a 2-page spread of Brooklyn with the gate and behind him are windows/panels of all the places he went, including 2198. I mean, the only spin-off not directly connected to this are New Olympians and Dark Ages, but still, it is food for thought. What do you guys think?
Jack-Pumpkinhead - [jtjgundam at hotmail dot com]
Meg > Probably makes life a bit easy for Greg too. He can focus on each side comic too in the way that he wanted each to be developed. Maybe?
Blue Demon - [bluedemon62athotmaildotcom]
"I thought Timedancer would be next instead of Pendragon."
No...Greg has said that the LSes have to come in a specific order based on the overall Gargoyles Universe Timeline. Because of events in Bad Guys, that had to be first, and when he released the info that Bad Guys would be published he said up next would be Pendragon, then Timedancer. (Although Timedancer, Dark Ages, and 2198 are probably fairly interchangeable in that they are not stories that HAVE to be told to understand the present moment in the GU. So they can be published whenever, but Bad Guys/Pendragon had to be 1-2.)
Because of this, I have a feeling Pendragon might take place immediately after #9, the conclusion of the current arc. Something to think about.
Meg
Battle Beast> Of course Greg gets paid. He loves Gargoyles, but not enough to do it for free. :P
Rebel> Pendragon is next if Bad Guys is successful. And it also has to do with chronology. You can read Greg's words here: http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=505
