Elisa Maza figurine> ugh...I donated it to Toys for Tots. Ha!
Aside from the lapse in judgement the toy company made,( by thinking Bronx would not entertain a child's imagination without some action packed gear) I think the overall mold of Bronx was the best of all the figurines.

I didn't expect to be remembered except maybe by Wingless. He set me up with TGC VHS :D I remember everyone because I was heavy lurker when I was a kid. I shouldn't have left. Maybe I would have made better educational choices. Reading Todd's posts made you want to strive to be as well spoken and grammar smart as he. But I went to be a Massage Therapist. Medical term and gross anatomy were the curriculum. No English or medieval history/literature in those courses. I would have happily entertained those over cellular biology. Zzzzz... Both classes would be useless but one has more appeal. What fun to throw my clients off speaking the tongue of another age for my amusement :) The puck in me I never knew I had would have came out.

I could kick myself for not babying my VHS' better. They're long gone. I haven't watched Gargoyles since 2003.

I knew the Gathering was still going on so I had a gut feeling S8 and it's followers were alive, I had to investigate. The biggest amazement however was the smattering of Gargoyles fans who never been to an online following, yet were still quietly walking about. Such as my former co-worker who noted the tattoo I had.
I was wearing capri pants at work and the co-worker approached me, noting he thought he saw Elisa on my ankle. I guess I was asking to be checked out with my calves hanging out. "A fellow Gargoyle's fan!" He bellowed for all to hear in receiving.
I gathered with his surprise he felt like he was the last of his kind. And I sporting a tattoo after all those years from original airings in plain view, felt like I was part of a secret society exposed.

By the way, someone thought my tattoo from a far was Jesus. True story. Elisa is not the son of God last time I checked.

Curious, I used my Google-fu, and the answer is...

I still don't know which was more disturbing about that "idea masquerading as a question"; the apparent flagrant dishonesty in speaking of an episode that clearly never existed, or the senseless violence - almost the entire population of Manhattan, including the Mayor and the police (who should be restraining such actions, not taking part in them - it reminds me of what struck me as most alarming about Helios and Kiron taking part in the mob scene in "The New Olympians", when they're members of Taurus's security team), carrying out a bloodthirsty raid to slaughter the gargoyles, the Mutates, and Elisa (apparently ignoring the fact that she's not only a human, but also a member of the police). And presumably nobody in that crowd from the Mayor on down will be facing charges for such behavior. (If such a hypothetical ending wouldn't confirm Demona's viewpoint of humans, I don't know what would.)

ANONYMOUSE & Algernon: The reason for the out of order eps was the Air date order and production order were different. Some episodes in the second season were completed before the ones that were supposed to air. Thus, the ones that were completed often were broadcast before they were supposed to.

Check out the Gargoyles Fan Website under Episodes for the difference in the numbers and you'll see.

When Gargoyles was first broadcast in Germany several episodes where out of order. For example High Noon was followed by the World Tour episode at Wyvern which was followed by the Prague one (yes, I was rather puzzled where Angel came from). Avalon got shown about eight episodes after that and the run on with that broadcaster ended with the Gathering.

This is exactly what I meant and also what I found so strange - I've seen countless "Uh, Greg, this Garg story, blahblah" posts, with various ideas and various attempts at presenting (= making it through Todds and Greg Bs censoring), but nothing seemed to be quite as absurd and over-the-top as this one. And not just that, the presentation makes it absolutely pointless except for pranks reason (or to present something humorous for us to point and laugh at).

I also got the impression that the person was either not american or was still very young, which might explain it - I saw a few episodes of an obscure italian animated show when I was 3 or 4 years old, and only recently read through the summary of it, and it read nothing like it - in fact, whilst most of the images in my head seemed to fit, various plot points got mixed up.

So if somebody would have seen A Bronx Tale and Future Tense and some other shows episode that would fit the tone and mix it up as a really young kid, this might be the outcome of it... But apart from that, I think the cynicism of mi initial reaction would be more fitting - maybe the guy just intended it as a prank... maybe else... I wish he'd come in here and clarify matters a bit...

Apart from that, I know that in europe, various episodes of animated kids shows were got re-cut and re-assembled as entirely new episodes on various occasions. Not often though, but it happened here and there. The notion that FOX Kids would do it, esp. with a show where the fan base is that fond of the show and gathered all information on it with THIS OBSCURE SH!! actually slipping under the radar is just absurd...

@ Battle Beast: and ther goes another bit of internet nostalgia... *sigh* I remember the first "handmade" fansites for Resident Evil on Geocities, with those really really lame pictures and 50x50 pixel-screenshots... *sigh* oh, those were the days...

I've probably mentioned this before, but I'd like to see some citizens who aren't too fond of the gargoyles, but who disapprove of the Quarrymen because of their vigilantism. (Kind of like the District Attorney in "Batman: TAS" who disapproved of Batman, for the same reason.) Of course, in Greg's take on the Gargoyles Universe (as opposed to the new production team's), Castaway seems to take care to publicly downplay the Quarrymen's use of force (I still get a kick out of his public service announcement in "Bad Guys" - it makes the Quarrymen sound more like a charitable organization than like the KKK).

I've been thinking about it some lately and I've realized that I don't so much have a problem with TGC showing people continuing to hate and fear the gargoyles despite evidence to the contrary as much as I dislike the specific way they handled this idea and the fact that we essentially saw gargoyles supporters, Quarrymen were pretty much all-purpose villains, and the general public with their frequent bouts of collective amnesia, and nothing else.

DEMONSKRYE - I can't imagine such an ending airing on Saturday morning, either, and I'm amazed that the person who posted that should think it would have ever gotten past Standards and Practices. If Disney wanted to make certain that "Gargoyles" could not be revived, for whatever reason, it would have been a lot simpler to send the clan away to Avalon forever.

One additional thought on the "kill them all" attitude that the human rioters were apparently having (not only in this synopsis, but in the actual "Goliath Chronicles"); while there might be a few people who would take such an approach, I have a hard time imagining the whole city (especially the police and the city government) going with it. Remember, the gargoyles are a previously unknown species, that may be extremely rare for all that anyone knows (and they *are* rare) - not to mention having an unusual biological feature (stone sleep). Slaughtering them would be scientifically irresponsible; biologists would want them taken alive for careful study, rather than killed. (I often suspect that the "Goliath Chronicles" production team was thinking of the gargoyles as if they were a human minority group - and perceived as such by the public - rather than a rare non-human species.)

It sounds a bit like my memories of some series I sponged up while much younger. It was a great time, all those animated series, quite a few with actually stories and not the Bugs Bunny et al slapstick kind, and we had gotten a color TV. I spend quite a bit of time glued to the TV whenever there was the least shred of time available - currently I'm going at one year without the antenna plugged into the TV.

Back to the topic. Only seeing snatches of some series or completely out of order series or hacked up and mistranslated series has left me with quite a few memories of series and episodes that are totally contrary to what really happened, figure in the veil of time and an active imagination...

Btw, to those who are interested Gargoyles has been deemed a rare/inactive fandom by the Yuletide (fic exchange in time for Christmas) people and is thereby an available fandom this year, sign ups have started.

I'm not sure how we got onto the subject of "I vaguely remember," since the line does not appear in this...work of fiction. The guy says he "completely saw this episode," and kind of acts vague on the title. But everything else he seems to "remember" with amazing clarity.

I've now actually sat down and read the whole thing and it is bizarre. I really can't think what the point would be, aside from prank for prank's sake. Because there is no way this would convince anyone of anything. Putting aside all of the spelling, punctuation, and grammar mistakes and the impression I'm getting that English is not this person's first language, this is not a convincing plot to any episode of "Gargoyles." It makes too little sense to be from the first two seasons (Why are the cops and this never before introduced "mayor" rioting? Why does Xanatos have no other option but to betray the gargoyles? How did Demona die when someone other than Macbeth killed her? Why are Angela and Brooklyn suddenly a couple? Why are Lex and Broadway left alive?) and way too violent to be part of either the first two seasons or TGC, or pretty much and show primarily aimed at kids aired in the US market. No program for kids is going to show the majority of its protagonists being shot, blown up, burned, or vaporized onscreen. The negative publicity would be insane.

The thing is good for a laugh, but it seems like an awful lot of time to spend on something that really has not point.

It's a shame it was deleted, I would have liked to see what Greg came up with as an answer to this. Especially considering the "I vaguely remember!" line.

On the ending: I think it wouldn't have stopped fans - at least I wouldn't have let it stop me - from trying to bring the show back. TGC wasn't just a third season with other writers, the decline in quality was unbearable under those circumstances. Sometimes somebody becomes the Rolling Stones and it's OK, cause hey, everybody's got the right to get old and put out some not-so-good material. But it's not cool if somebody else takes over the name and does something depressingly shallow and uninspired with it.

And yeah, I also think the guy mixed a fanfic with Future Tense.

Battle Beast: CTV was BBS only for a short time. "Baton Broadcast System". Apparently it only lasted about 3 years-and it was mostly in Ontario. The Saturday & Sunday cartoon block was "BBS Master Control"

My Fox Station played Gargoyles , although I don't remember other disney shows. It came on at 8:00 or 8:30 Am daily, and It also came on at 4:30 (same ep) on a smaller staion. Also on Saturdays as part of the Disney Afternoon which aired on Saturdays [Gummie Bears, Chip & Dale, Tale Spin, Dark Wing Duck at first], replacing the good shows with newer ones, like Bonker and Aladdin. Also came on Sundays [Tale Spin & Dark Wing Duck] in the early 1990's, and then in the mid '90's only on Saturday.

Gargoyles was one of the last shows on the Disney Afternoon when it went off the air in about 1995. Although "Gargoyles" was aired untill around 1997.

I was getting Gargs on several places. Fox did have it on at 6:30(and as early as 6:00). WB had disney afternoon, UPN too(remember them). In Canada CTV(then known as BBS) had them on Saturday morning-hosted by one of those annoying saturday morning hosts(think her name was Jen)-and they'd fade into the intros from a TV screen.

Anyway, A friend of mine gave me his copy of Game Informer (November 2009 issue). To my surprise, there was a (somewhat short) article regarding Marvel and Disney (in regards to video games, of course). According to the article, the deal isn't finalized yet since more approvals and shareholder votes are still pending. Marvel still has several licenses with many video game partners and Disney intends on respecting them until they expire. Even though they have to wait for full licensing integration, Disney has time to consider "what's best for the company, both from a financial perspective and a quality perspective and an exposure perspective."

There were a couple of paragraphs regarding print and film. It says it's too soon to know if Marvel's comics and movies will be affected (yet no mention of Disney's comics). Joe Quesada was mentioned; he's not expecting any major changes to Marvel's books. He stated that the Disney CEO "wants Marvel to be Marvel in the same way that Pixar remains Pixar."

That pretty much summarizes it. I'm hoping things can be finalized soon as I'm curious to know what Disney will do, especially if Gargoyles is involved...

My original Season 2 recordings have the FOX logo in them. Aired at 6:30 am weekdays. I still remember setting my alarm to wake up and record Gargoyles then going back to sleep for a couple hours.

It reminds me, though, of a question I've sometimes wondered: what if the production team for "The Goliath Chronicles" had decided to kill off the gargoyles in the final episode? Would the fandom have continued after that, making fresh attempts to get the show back on the air, or would they have resigned themselves to "Gargoyles" being over with an ending like that, and moved on to other series? (Of course, it might not have made such a difference, since a lot of cities didn't air "The Goliath Chronicles".)

Just deleted that one. The bad spelling was depressing (though I've seen a lot of that on the Internet), as was the "I vaguely remember" claim - which definitely seemed like code for "I'm making it up". (My favorite commentary on the "I think I heard or read somewhere" claim was the man who said that if he was a teacher and one of his students turned in an essay with such a phrase, he'd immediately give that student an F, no matter how the rest of the essay read.)

Best case scenario, this is a very confused individual who read a particularly bad fanfic or a number of fanfics and maybe "Future Tense" and somehow came to believe that this implausible storyline was actually an episode. But that seems unlikely. Why would someone do this? I don't know for certain, but there is sadly no shortage of people on the internet who like to cause trouble just for the sake of causing trouble rather than do anything useful with their time.

Also like how "Xanatos manages to kill off Demona." Because it's not like the series has established that Demona is immortal and can only be killed by Macbeth or anything.

@ Greg B: Actually, the entire thing is a bit mystifying... I mean, did he post that he had an idea before?

Because if he had not, then I can't see why he would try to send Greg his idea of an EP in this way. It just doesn't make sense, because, well, pretty much everything Gargoyles related that is not by Greg will be flamed on here or by him personally (esp. if it is written THAT bad).

It could be he either confuses it, or it is something way stranger (parallel universe, parallel universe or possibly another Greg from a parallel universe writing this, then being axed etc.)

So yeah, pretty strange thing, but I don't think it is an idea...

You know one of my pet peeves is people who tell stupidly obvious lies. If you're going to lie to me then at least respect my intellegence enough to make it plausible and convincing. There's nothing quite so pathetic as a sinner who can't even sin properly.

So, I like to check the questions being submitted to Ask Greg every now and then. Well, I just stumbled across this one.

There is no way in Hell that this is legit. This is an idea masquerading as a question... masquerading as "I know I saw this episode.."

My goodness its been so long but I now understand when you replied to my first question on the none existant episode and questioned it.

Its been recorded "Angels In The Night" was the last episode of Gargoyles aired but I have done everything to find the so called missing episodes that was Aired in Public by Fox Kids channel.

I believe this last episode was called "The Cold Night" who the writter was I do not know. However I thought this story was yours and it wasnt.

Here is what happened in the "The Cold Night". Its starts off in plot similar to yours that the aggression towards the Gargoyle clan had worsen and to a state that a news reporter had proof of Xanatos transporting the Gargoyles to his place and viable proof that he was keeping them safe. A riot started forming at the base of his tower and the people including the Mayer and Cops.

Xanatos is left with little choice because of his child and his wife in danger. His head on the line as the person protecting and allowing these gargoyles to roam free, the city itself is against him. Xanatos tricks Goliath clan to regroup outside in the courtyard. He makes the call to the Cops saying they are theirs to do with and claiming he was the victom and agreed to help them be captured.

The scene then heads to the Courtyard and the battle begins with Xanatos geared and using his robots to finish them off. Goliath confused questioned him why the betrayal is happening and Xanatos replied that he has his own family to protect and that his clan's capture is the only ticket to protect them. Goliath out raged by this betrayel tries to escape but the Cops show up and the SWAT comes out in full force.

Goliath shouts to his clan to find a way to escape, to survive. The clan scatters. Goliath, Demona, and Elisa Maza fight Xanatos. Brooklyn and Angela became lovers instead of her and Broadway, fighting off the Cops on ground near the castle walls. Bronx and Hudson are battling inside the castle to find a way to the elevator. Lexington and Broadway are fighting in the air.
Talon's group decided not to aid Goliath's clan because the riot found the mutates and started a massacre. Fox's parents decided not to help aid Goliath for fear of their child safety from the public. Owen Burnett stands guard with Fox.

The fight continues and the Gargoyles are becoming weaker and start losing the battle with no aid to help them. Xanatos manages to kill off Demona and weakens Goliath enough that the last scene of them is Elisa Maza running to Goliath as Xanatos fires the last beam at Goliath both of them caught in the flame and turned to dust. Bronx and Hudson meet the same fate with the last scene showing both, looking at each other, acknowledging they are going to die, and do last charge and both are shot to death by 4 gaurds front and behind. Brooklyn rushes to aid Angela after she is caught off gaurd from an attack from behind and defeats the guy attacking her. Their final moment is that she steps on certain part of the floor and activates a mine. Both embrace each other and then you see the explosion. Lexington and Broadway are caught after being knocked out and is transported by helicopter away from the battle. You see Talon and his companions in his lair dead burning.

The very last scene closing the episode is Broadway waking up in a sealed container on a train moving somewhere showing Lexington already up and crying. Broadway asked where the others are at and Lexington replies that he overheard that the rest are dead and they are only ones left alive. Crying he speaks into the air "Its all over." The scene darkens and the credits role.

Like I said I completely saw this episode Aired in public on Fox Kids channel. However I know now that this isnt your story and that this is someone elses.

Now my question is... if you may know or not. Who was the writter? and Why cant I find any recorded of this unknown episode that was aired of this sad alternate ending? Between 1997-1998.

L.T. -- Just clicked on the site myself, and all seems to be fine . . . I'm not sure if its cookie, browser (currently Chrome for me), or operating system (Vista for me) that could be the problem. I can visit the site without anything asking me to download a program . . .

Off-Subject -- During class today my professor pointed out that the monarchs of Britain, Germany, and Russia in World War I (George V, Wilhelm II, and Nicholas II, respectively) were all first cousins. This got a chuckle out of me, especially in light of the back-stories recently (and not-so-recently) featured in Gargoyles. I guess the "family reunions" stayed vicious even after the Dark Ages d:

Mind you, this factual tidbit about World War I wasn't necessarily new to me, having studied these guys in high school, but the refresher -- now in light of the latest Trade Paperbacks -- had me JUST a bit more fascinated than usual.

Hey, gang.

So no problem with GargWiki on my work computer today. But last night and tonight at home, whenever I try to access the GargWiki, it tries to get me to download an application...?! Which I won't do. So I can't get on the site. I've tried my bookmark, the link here in the comment room and just typing in the URL by hand. Same result each time.

Could someone else try to get on GargWiki and see if they are having the same problem? Or does someone have an idea why this is suddenly happening? (Never had this problem before.)

Well, Xanatos considered the castle his home, and he was rich enough to have lots of enemies, and he knew it. I'd say that he had plenty of incentives to familiarize himself with every nook and cranny of the castle.

I do like the idea of Demona using her contribution to bribe the construction crews to put in a secret passage and/or tamper with the floor plans, though.

I guess it's possible that Xanatos just gave orders to have the castle rebuilt exactly as it was and didn't pay too much attention to the details after that. It's also possible that he let Demona pitch in with some of the decoration and she hung that tapestry before Xanatos could notice what was behind it. But it still does seem a little odd to think he would be totally unaware of a secret passage in his own home which he had constructed, even though I've never thought about it before.

Greg did answer it (he suggested that maybe the people reassembling the castle somehow failed to notice it, or that Xanatos might have transported the castle to New York in larger pieces than we thought).

PAUL> Well we know Demona was in on plan to rebuild Castle Wyvern. She may even have contributed some of her own wealth to the project. Given all that I have a theory, at some point early on in the process, she may have bribed whoever was overseeing the reconstruction to to conceal the passage from Xanatos to use against him once he had "outlived his usefulness".

I've been wondering about Demona's hiding place at the end of "City of Stone, Part 3." She said that even Xanatos didn't know all of the secrets in Castle Wyvern, but how could this be? Even if Xanatos didn't personally oversee the tearing-down of the castle at Wyvern Hill and its reconstruction on top of the Eyrie Building (which would reveal EVERYTHING the castle had to hide), he would certainly have access to the floor plans (or blueprints for reconstruction, if you will), and he had good reason to study them well.

Of course, it's likely that Demona is simply being conceited as usual, but still, Xanatos must have known that he had chosen to hang that tapestry over an alcove or a secret passage, yet he seemed more concerned about the tapestry than what it concealed.
