Wow. I don't mean to criticize, but I have to say, I think it's kind of amazing that you guys manage to do as good of a job as you do keeping this site running when the only way to get to a question is to manually click through every one in the queue, one by one. I'm kind of astounded that you've kept the site up for so long, like that.
I've said it before, but in my opinion, one of the things that would help keep the queue from being flooded is to have better controls, both for the moderators, and also to help askers realize if a question they're submitting has already been asked in the past. I'll be happy to help you guys with the coding, if you ever want to consider adding some better controls.

Sorry about the duplicate questions. I didn't know that Bishansky's question had been duplicated, once as "Anonymous" and once with his name, since I was approving them as I was reading them. From hindsight, I should probably have read all the questions first, then gone through them again and approved them, but it didn't occur to me.
As for my duplicate question, I realized after submitting mine that I'd forgotten to finish the sentence after typing in Brooklyn's quote from the comic, and had to resubmit it with the rest of the sentence. Sorry; I was a bit distracted at the time.

Happy birthday, Greg Weisman!
Believe it or not, on this day in 1962, Charles Schulz drew a gargoyle-themed "Peanuts" strip (one of three, the others were on September 27 and September 29 of that year). It went like this.
LINUS (speaking to Charlie Brown): "I think some of our modern architects are missing a good bet. There are certain decorative features which I think they should revive."
CHARLIE BROWN: "Which decorative features?"
LINUS: "Gargoyles!" (He points to Snoopy, who is lying stomach-down on the roof of his doghouse with a gargoyle-ish grin.)
A gargoyles-themed strip on Greg Weisman's birthday, though 32 years before "Gargoyles" came out. I don't usually believe in omens, but in this case....

SomeGeek> My gut reaction was High Noon, although I'm not sure it stands on its own that well. It works best when you're already familiar with Demona, Macbeth, the Weird Sisters and Coldstone. But it does tick all your other boxes.
The Mirror is good, but maybe it throws too much too fast. The Silver Falcon probably doesn't throw *enough*, as it only focuses on two of the main cast. But maybe that's a good thing?
Vows is good, but with regards to the time travel some people will really get it or really not get it, so it could backfire.
Yeah, this is a really hard question, but I think my money's on Eye of the Beholder.

City of Stone is my favorite batch of episodes in the whole series but if your friend only agreed to watch one maybe High Noon or The Mirror would be better. I think The Mirror is the strongest of those two because it has good Demona and Elisa, the deepening of the Goliath/Elisa romance, Puck, the uniqueness of the characters shifting species, and really strong dialogue. Not just from Puck but all around.

I convinced a friend to watch an episode of Gargoyles this weekend. He's never seen the show but I'm always gushing about it so he figured why not. I'm trying to figure out which episode(s) I should use as a gateway drug...err..gateway episode.
He specifically does like shows with strong female characters, so I was thinking I'd pick an episode that showcased either Elisa or Demona. I'd also want to pick something that can stand on its own well enough if he doesn't see it in order. If it comes in to reasoning, he does like a lot of anime should that style or type of medium shape the reasoning here as well.
With that criteria in mind, I was debating between Awakening (merely because it's the start, but not much female lead there), City of Stone, The Mirror, The Silver Falcon, Eye of the Beholder, Vows, and High Noon.
I know all episodes are good (if not great), so i'm not debating that. just trying to match in his preferences to get him interested enough to want to see more. Any suggestions on which of those might be the better choice as the gateway episode given the criteria? Or another episode that I'm not thinking of?
thanks in advance

Hi Greg and Brandon,
I'm sorry if I'm intruding here, but this isn't really a question - I just want to spread some love, so I hope that's okay!
I'm a big fan of Dick and Wally, and I just wanted to drop by and let you how great they are and how loved they are in the fandom. One of the blogs dedicated to them hit 1500 followers tonight and has almost 2000 posts with hundreds of artists and such if you'd like to see! http://birdflash.tumblr.com/archive (It's a lot of bromance but also - ah - minus the "b," so if that's not comfortable, then avert your eyes! Nothing really NSFW though).
I dunno, everyone just loves their friendship so much, and their deviantArt group has almost 3000 watchers and members, and 1300 fics on fanfiction, and I just wanted to thank you for making them so fun and sassy and stern but supportive of each other all at the same time in season one. I am kind of worried about them in Season 2, but my eyes will be glued to the set! We've missed them so far, so even if they're fighting it may still be nice to have some drama.
Thank you once again.
