Sarah H & the B-Boys> Here's your answer.

When in doubt, check the archives of Ask Greg. More often than not, your question has already been answered.

Hello.
First off, I love the show. It was one of my favorite as a child, which is why I wanted to share that joy with two boys that I babysit on a regular basis. They were very into the cartoon when I played season one on dvd for them earlier today, and were constantly asking me questions about the Gargoyles ~ all of which I was able to answer thanks to you and Greg... Well, almost all of them. There was one question that they kept asking that I did not know the answer to:

"Why don't the gargoyles have nipples?"

Needless to say I was at a loss as to an appropriate answer and promised them that I would look into it. Which is why I must ask you as they peer over my shoulder, why don't gargoyles have nipples? Is it because they hatch from eggs? Was it due to an art-style issue? Are they just really smooth chested? These, strangely enough, are the questions that today's elementary school viewers wonder.

On behalf of the B-Boys (who shall remain nameless), we thank you for your time.

Ah. Thanks for clarifying that, Greg :)

(but I'll be sure to pre-order it whenever St. Martin's Press does give the go-ahead!)

I don't want to bother you but is there any chance of young justice getting a season 3 or is it a lost cause and if it is a lost cause could you please tell me what would have happened in season 3 or 4

Phoenician: Haven't received an order for Book Three of the RAIN OF THE GHOSTS series yet. Decided to be optimistic and start work on the book anyway.

Speaking of Rain of the Ghosts, saw GregW reveal the title to the third book in the series -- I'm guessing he must have gotten the pick up from St. Martin's Press to write that book (. . . and maybe a few more after that?)

In any event, congrats Greg :)

Sorry for the double post, but I just added an entry on "Rain of the Ghosts" to the GargWiki (including a couple of possible "Gargoyles" allusions in the book). Any of the staff who've more technical know-how than I do, feel free to add a picture of the book's front cover to its page.

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

I wonder what the gargoyles think of the days getting longer and the nights shorter, now that we've passed the vernal equinox.

I'd love to see a one-winged Gargoyle named Sephiroth. :)

However, still no plans for a certain groundbreaking animated TV series upcoming twentieth anniversary. (Wonder which one that is, hmm?)

These wingless or single-winged Gargoyles are pretty old art which was used on the cover. I think the distorted wings look stupid, but were originally done this way so they don't hide parts of the design.

Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

There's also the mistakes in the cover art (Brooklyn with no wings and Hudson missing a wing) that were discussed here before.

But thanks to the DVD, I was able to watch "The Hound of Ulster" last night for St. Patrick's Day for the first time since switching over from video-tape to DVD almost ten years ago. Thank goodness for the complete two seasons at last.

Todd> I wonder if anyone who worked on the DVD actually knew anything about the series at all.

I did it! I watched all 485 Best picture nominees in 365 days!

I was looking again at the official description for the recently-released "Gargoyles Season Two Volume Two" DVD, and noticed a few inaccuracies:

"The ancient struggle between heroes and villains continues among the skyscrapers and bridges of a modern metropolis as GARGOYLES returns for a second season. It's an adventure one thousand years in the making! Goliath, Hudson, Broadway and Brooklyn are back from their stone-cold sleep and ready to save humanity from evil gargoyle clans, banshees and legendary monsters. But will Demona's diabolical plan to exterminate mankind prove to be the Gargoyles' final reckoning? Prepare for thrills and chills in this collectible 3-disc DVD set of GARGOYLES Season 2 Volume 2. "

First, no mention of Lexington (or Bronx) as one of the clan. Also, I wondered about the "evil gargoyle clans" and "banshees" part. There's only one banshee in the series, making the plural inaccurate. And the "evil gargoyle clans" doesn't match the series; there are three villainous gargoyles, yes, Demona, Thailog, and Coldsteel, but none of them form a clan. The closest we get might be Demona claiming that the Clones are her clan in "The Reckoning", but even then, it's still just one clan and doesn't fit the plural, either.

At least "legendary monsters" is an accurate plural.
