This is the retail cover art: http://i.imgur.com/Tw9WO1K.jpg
There are no extras.
>who has the rights to the comics now ?<
Disney. SLG lost the license a few years ago, but they are allowed to sell the remaining already printed trade paperbacks I think. But they're out of stock by now if I am not mistaken.
>Didn't Boom Studios nab the rights to publish Disney's comics at some point ?<
Yeah, they did acquire licenses to make new comics for Darkwing Duck/DuckTales/Rescue Rangers and some Pixar properties. At one point they tried to get the Gargoyles license, but Disney wouldn't extend the current licenses, yet give BOOM! Studios new ones. We don't know the reasons for this, but there was some issue about the later Darkwing Duck comic releases or smth...
But in 2015 a new company called JoeBooks (subsidiary of Disney???) will release the Darkwing comics in an omnibus with reworked art/rewritten text and continue the story with a new comic series after. And I hope it sells so damn well they might pick up the Gargoyle comic, too. *wishful thinking*

Yeah, I noticed that Season 2 Part 2 was finally getting a wide release, just by chance while browsing TVshowsOnDVD.com for the first time in years (the Thundercats sequel cartoon from 2011/2012 started airing in Canada finally this week, got curious about length of season and whether it was on disc--technically it's a continuation instead of a reboot, at least going by the first few episodes so far, with the main characters either reincarnated or very coincidentally named after the originals from generations prior). Good to see. Even though I'm a member of the Disney Movie Club, haven't gotten around to buying that first version of the final set yet (well, "final" only if they never release The Goliath Chronicles).
Is the cover art for the Movie Club release the same as what they show in the ads ? Basically looking like a screenshot from the cartoon itself ? (better than the ugly Season 2 Part 1 cover, at least). Not sure which version I'll get (unless there're different extras on the new release). They've never gotten these covers just right. They came closest with Season 1's, I liked the Goliath-in-agony pose and the stone look of it. The disc art for Season 2 Part 1 was beautiful, I'll give 'me that.
Question, since I'm doing a few Gargoyles-related searches this afternoon--who has the rights to the comics now ? Is it still Slave Labor Graphics, and they just happen to be sold out of the trade paperback collections currently ? If they lost the rights to the Disney comics, I thought it was interesting that the Haunted Mansion hardcover collection is still listed for sale on their site...unless maybe it's from way back and they simply haven't sold out of all of 'em yet.
Didn't Boom Studios nab the rights to publish Disney's comics at some point ? I'm so behind on this stuff. Checked their site too--no Gargoyles listed and didn't see any Disney titles in my quick scan. So they're not in print at all anymore ? Not even available digitally for sale ? Who publishes Disney's comics these days, then ? (Marvel, since they're the same company now?)
The collections are going for obscene prices on Amazon (especially on Amazon.ca--on .com, they're high too, but Volume 2 is $40 at the lowest). I have them (glad I at least bought THOSE soon after they were released), just curious and noticed.
Happy New Year, all.

The New TMNT episode Eyes of the Chimera was written by Greg Weisman. It was a really good episode too.

You know who should direct a Gargoyles film? Lars von Trier. Fresh off Nymphomaniac! Charlotte Gainsbourg will play Elisa and Willem Dafoe as Goliath. He wouldn't even need makeup! I thought he was a gargoyle when I first saw him! He was born for the role! They could even go as far as making Uma Thurman Demona and Shia LaBeouf Puck! It's perfect! It would be filmed in Dogma 95 style with unsimulated sex scenes!
