Don't confuse David Harewood (British actor who's in the Othello episode of Shakespeare Undercover) with Dorian Harewood (American actor who played Boreas in Gargoyles). Both great actors, but two different guys.

BATTLE BEAST - As I recall, they did "The Tempest" last year in an earlier set of documentaries in the series (alongside "Hamlet", "Macbeth", "Richard II", "As You Like It", and the "Henry IV" plays).

Todd> I'm sorry I missed that show... A Midsummer Night's Dream is my Favorite Shakespeare comedy. I'd be interested to see their views on The Tempest and Titus Andronicus another favorite comedy and my favorite of the Bard's tragedies.
Greg> I tweeted Joe Books a couple times. Just doing my part :)

Last Sunday, PBS ran a couple of documentaries on Shakespeare's plays (the continuation of a series began last year). The first one was on "A Midsummer Night's Dream", and is worth watching to see an exploration of Shakespeare's depiction of Oberon, Titania, and Puck, and how people who've staged the play nowadays have handled them. (One that I particularly liked, dating from 1981, showed Oberon mounted on a horse when he spoke to Titania in their quarrel scene near the start of the play - a majestic, if otherworldly, steed, well-suited to him.) The second was on "King Lear", which might be of some interest to "Gargoyles" fans as well, in light of Edmund being Greg's favorite Shakespeare character (and a likely unconscious influence on Thailog). The documentary also included one line from the play that Xanatos quoted - "Reason not the need". (A really cheeky use of that line, since in the original play, Lear says it to his daughters Goneril and Regan when they ask him why he still needs such a large retinue of knights after abdicating - in "Vows", Xanatos said that line to his father, reversing the parent-child clash in its original setting.)
This coming weekend they'll be discussing "The Taming of the Shrew" and "Othello"; the latter should be of interest to folks here, not only because of that play's influence on the ColdTrio, but also because the host for the "Othello" episode is Dorian Harewood, who did the voice of Boreas in "The New Olympians".

The new Darkwing Duck omnibus has been released in comic book stores today and should receive a general release within the next two weeks. I picked up my copy, and it's a beautiful book. Personally, I would love it if Joe's Books would do something similar for "Gargoyles". A re-release of the SLG trades at this quality would be great. It would be great for those of us who have the SLG trades already because they'd be released in a larger size. Even more importantly, it would be great because the SLG trades are out of print and going for way too much money on the secondary market, a re-release would allow new fans and fans who have missed the SLG releases a chance to own these stories.
So, I am encouraging everyone to contact Joe's Books via twitter and ask for "Gargoyles". Also, if you can afford it and it interests you, pick up Darkwing Duck, because its success can only help the "Gargoyles" cause.
