Huh, so emojis now work in the queue (or, is this something only showing on my browser/what-have-you)?

Phil: From the 2009 Gathering and 2014 CONvergence I was able to attend, Greg Weisman was truly patient with the multiple things I had brought to autograph (he themes his autographs with the item he's signing, so I do vividly remember him saying "I'm running out of witty things to write here, man!" after being handed anything and everything I had that was Gargoyles and Spectacular Spider-Man related -- of course, the same thing happened in 2014 when my Weisman-library now included my S2V2 DVD, SpecSpidey & YJ Blu-rays, and Rain of the Ghosts).

GregW had many-a-panel at both conventions I attended (I think he actually broke the record for the most panels at CONvergence in a single year when I went), so I never presumed to have a ton of individual time with the guy, but nevertheless, he was still approachable.

Of course, don't just take my word for it -- like most things here, it's already been answered:

In the end, be yourself, be respectful. Know that he still won't spoil/scoop himself and be mindful of everyone else wanting to meet him. I hope you and your daughters enjoy your time at Grand Rapids Comic Con. :)

Matt and Spen: I've mostly been living and working in Florida with my wife and our dog.

I actually rewatched the entire Garg series at the start of the year right before we took a trip to Ireland. We didn't see Ulster, though. We kept to the south.

So, I've been around here a long time, back to the days when Ask Greg was current and we had contests. I've been a fan of Greg Weisman ever since I found out who he is, but I never had the finances to attend a Gathering and meet him. Now I'm finally about to get my chance.

Greg is on the guest list for next month's Grand Rapids Comic Con (http://www.grcomiccon.com) right here in my hometown, just ten minutes from my house. I am super excited, but also a little nervous since I've never gone to a con before. So I'm asking for some advice from those of you who have experience.

How do I make the most of this opportunity without coming across as a creepy stalker? I'm not really interested in anything else going on at GR Comic Con, just Greg. My kids are excited to meet him too (I have two daughters at out-of-state colleges working hard to find rides home that weekend).

I don't know what kind of line there will be for Greg, or how much of his time I can monopolize. I have a ton of stuff for him to autograph, but I'm hoping for a chance to talk, too. Any advice?

Oh wow. Hey, Harvester! Been way too long.

Sorry - I hadn't read Algernon's post closely enough, or I'd have realized he wrote "Spirit of Destiny" and not "Stone of Destiny".

Hufflepuffs are really good finders

It might be more accurate to ponder the voice issuing from the Stone of Destiny to be that of an angel, especially in light of the big revelation at the end of the Stone's true nature. I doubt that Greg will ever delve that much into the true identity and source of that voice, particularly whether it's an angel in the Judeo-Christian sense (given that that first scene involved a biblical figure like Jacob) - the kind of thing that could easily be too controversial - so we'll probably never know.

So I had an interesting thought while rereading the second Clan-Building TPB recently. When I got to Shari's tale of Jacob's angelic vision while sleeping on the future Stone of Scone, it occurred to me that this is the closet thing we've seen so far to an origin story for the Stone.

So... is it possible the Spirit of Destiny is actually an angel? Or at the very least, that's what the ancient Hebrews believed it was?

Second!

Total tangent -- watched "Vendettas" for the first time in a loooong time. I was almost surprised at how funny I still found the ending (particularly Hudson and Goliath's reactions).
