ALGERNON - I saw that one too, back in the early 90's on a PBS children's program called something like "Long Ago and Far Away". It was called "Merlin and the Dragons" and opened with a young Arthur, just crowned King of Britain after the Sword in the Stone incident and still not used to it, hearing the story from Merlin.

The next-in-line question in the "Ask Greg" queue is one of the most appealing ones I've seen for a while, which asks a couple of questions about the Arthurian material in the Gargoyles Universe - including about Vortigern (the half-historical, half-legendary British king who made the mistake of briging the Saxons into Britain, and who was also the first British king that had dealings with Merlin). The questioner focused, in particular, on an 18th century play about Vortigern written by a man named William Henry Ireland, who tried passing it off as Shakespeare's work (the play was so badly written, despite following Shakespeare's style on the surface level, that the imposture was definitely exposed on its opening night) - how appropriate to have a question linking King Arthur and Shakespeare in the "Ask Greg" queue. I suspect that Greg's response will be "No spoilers", but I still liked reading it (especially since "Gargoyles" questions seem so rare in the queue nowadays, with so much of it being dedicated to "Young Justice" questions. It's understandable, I know, since "Young Justice" was made much more recently, and it's a DC Comics-based property, but still....)

So, I've been thinking about the Gargoyles universe version of Atlantis and what little we can deduce about it assuming The Last from Team Atlantis is broadly canon.

Probably the most suggestive element is the presence of Queen Kida, implying that some population of Atlanteans had managed to survive into the early 20th century at least. Whether that means the GU Kida is over 10,000 years old or some kind of Atlantean descendant is another question.

Couldn't help but notice the hunter's moon this weekend. Significant because it's the 20th anniversary of 1996's Hunter's Moon (to the moon, not to the day). Time flies...
