A pleasant surprise at my local comic shop today -- a hardcover of the complete 12-issue run of Greg Weisman's Star Wars: Kanan!

Its a lovely edition, the kind of treatment I wish the SLG-run of Gargoyles/Bad Guys and the YJ tie-in comics had the opportunity to do.

Well that Christmas themed count up didn't work out quite like I hoped, oh well.

Finished reading Traveler yesterday (took me a while cause I was distracted by NaNoWriMo), and I can definitely say that I enjoyed it quite a bit. I had pretty much zero WoW background knowledge going in, but that never impacted my ability to follow things, and the story does a good job explaining what needs to be explained while not detracting from its flow. Good characters, good action, and good mystery that's got me successfully invested in seeing where things go next. Glad to see Greg mention in a recent ask that he's working on the second book in the series - I'll definitely be picking it up.

If you've ever taken a road trip through the Pacific northwest, you've probably seen a bumper sticker for a place called Gravity Falls. It's not on any maps, and most people have never heard of it. Some people think it's a myth. But if you're curious, don't wait. Find it. It's out there somewhere in the woods. Waiting.

I just saw a post on FaceBook titled "15 Things You Didn't Know About the TV Show Gargoyles." I usually ignore that kind of clickbait, but I couldn't resist. Being a fan for over twenty years and a regular reader of Ask Greg, I had my doubts that the article would reveal anything I didn't already know.

In a way, I was right. None of the facts presented in the list were new to me. But it did include some things I did not know, because they're ERRORS. (At the end of the article the writer lists his sources as Wikipedia, Gargwiki.net, and s8.org but I'm not confident that he read them carefully.)

Here's an example:
"2. There is a Virus That Turns Humans Into Gargoyles"
The explanation describes Anton Sevarius and his work creating the mutates. Close, but not quite right.

It's cool to see that people are still interested in Gargoyles, though.

Forshame, Algernon - and right after the anon I called out last week (though amusingly, you could have gotten away with it without self-identification).

Nice bit of history to apply to the season, though. Sixth in its honor.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

6th of December is the feast day of St. Nicholas who, according to legend, punched out the heretic Arius at the council of Nicea for denying the Son's equality with the Father in the Christian Trinity.

Thereby making Arius the very first inductee on the Naughty List.

Today, December the FIFTH, is the birthday of Walt Disney - and though "Gargoyles" was created after his time, he still founded the company that developed it.

I post on twitter but I'm not that literate about it. Do I just make a post with the hash tag in it?

On the second day of Christmas the Weisman gave to me,

Two gargoyle lovers.

And a garg-beast perched in a tree.

(I had a good one for day 3, ah well)
