Last but not least!

If I read the credits for today's episode correctly, Magica de Spell is being voiced by Catherine Tate.

Well Gyro does have a "time tub" under his list of inventions. I don't remember if it was under the "evil" list or the "just misunderstood" list.

FTBM - The only new news is that Joe Books decided not to come out with the Gargoyles Cinestory after all. (Which may not have come as that big a surprise after they'd been pushing back its release date for so long.)

Tennant's Scrooge doesn't capture the full irascability that the late Alan Young's Scrooge did, but I'm still enjoying the new "DuckTales". (And I wonder whether, if "DuckTales" does any time travel stories as the original one did - and it's all the more likely given that promo with the "time clock" - the writers might sneak in an in-joke or two based on that casting.)

A little late but here are my thoughts on the newest Ducktales series:
Cons (These are mostly personal opinions)
*After so many years of Alan Young and Russi Taylor it's a little odd to hear different voices for Scrooge and the nephews, I imagine it will be the same with Magica De Spell without June Foray and Fenton Crackshell without Hamilton Camp (RIP).
*Following that I still think David Tennet sounds too young to play Scrooge and Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan sound too old to play Huey, Dewey and Louie but I'm willing to give them a chance and see how their performance goes down the line.
*Sometimes the show can be a little too fast paced, you need to remember to give your characters, and by extension the audience, a chance to breath. Maybe that's what the commercial breaks are for.
Pros:
*I love the shoutouts to the other Disney Afternoon cartoons: Cape Suzette, Spoonerville, St. Canard. Reminds me of the old crossover comic from Disney Adventures "The Legend of the Chaos God."
*I like that they're working to give Huey, Dewey and Louie distinct personalities, hopefully it works better than it did in Quack Pack.
*I really dig Kate Micucci, Toks Olagundoye and Beck Bennett's portrayal of Webby, Mrs. Beakley and Launchpad respectively. The first two are awesome in their own right and Launchpad keeps the good-natured buffoonery that endears us to the character (though I do hope they let Terry McGovern make an appearance on the show).
*I'm loving Jim Rash's portrayal of Gyro as an irritable mad scientist.
*And best of all, I'm loving not only the world building that the show's been working on but the overarching plots set in place. It makes me feel good to know that show runners trust that kids are able to follow storylines and not just do "one and done" episodes.
All and all, I'm eager to see where this series goes.

Hey you all just dipping in. Any new news on comics/etc? 0r are we all still holding out? Figured this was the place to ask.

This year, its "Hunter's Moon" status has been overshadowed by its also being the Harvest Moon (thanks to the moon last month coming too early to be a Harvest Moon). Next year, it'll probably be able to claim the full status of Hunter's Moon again.

Anyone else catch today/tonight's Hunter's Moon?

Matthew> Probably because you weren't a serious Sierra fan back in the day, I'm guessing.

Regardless, feel free to partake. The entire trilogy and the 20th Anniversary remake of the first title are all available on GOG, Steam, and probably a few other digital storefronts as well. The original version of the first game, "Sins of the Fathers," and the third game, "Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned," both have Tim Curry voicing Gabriel Knight. The second game, "The Beast Within," is an FMV game with Dean Erickson in the title role as Paul mentioned while the 20th Anniversary remake has Jason Victor taking up the role.

Tim Curry as a horror novelist, going around solving crimes, while saying German words in a faux-New Orleans accent.
How have I never heard of this?!

Of course. Tim Curry speaking German with a New Orleans accent is one of the most memorable parts of "Gabriel Knight."

Well, Dean Erickson mangling the German word for "hunting license" beyond recognition is up there too.

Did you read that while attempting a New Orleans accented version of my avatar, Paul?

Oh, and fifth.

I watched the latest "Ducktales" over the weekend. The part that really grabbed me was the end where
Magica de Spell shows up and we learn that Webby's new friend is her niece. I'd been expecting Magica ever since the show started - she's one of Scrooge's Big Three enemies, alongside Flintheart Glomgold and the Beagle Boys - but entering this way - whoa!
Finally watched the first FOUR episodes of the new Ducktales series.
Or is it five? The pilot was a two-parter...
Anyway, I'll give my thoughts on it later.

For the second time, I will not support such blatant numerical violence!
