I'm sure not all of us are interested in old Sierra adventure games, but for the benefit of those of us who are, I thought I'd get the word out that the creators of Quest for Glory have finally released their spiritual sequel, Hero-U. You can find it on steam or at gog.com if you're interested.

I think it has an important message, that you don't have to be particularly skilled or smart or even honorable to be a hero.

Greg spoke on the streaming service and how he's able to tell a darker story without the Cartoon Network standards.

Seventh is the level of Heaven I was in when I first saw the Outsiders trailer! I can't stop rewatching it frame-by-frame.

As for the DC Universe air schedule, in fairness, I'm sure the ratings for DC's live-action shows like The Flash and Supergirl likely outstrip anything YJ ever achieved on Cartoon Network. By no inconsiderable factor. No judgment one way or the other, they're simply playing completely different ballgames.

So from the perspective of the executives making these decisions, I can see how they'd expect Titans and the other live-action shows to be the main anchors carrying early adoption of the service.

On the other hand, YJ is a proven IP rather than untested new waters (especially after the...less than stellar fan and critical response to the Titans trailer), so they've given it two "slots" to help carry subscribers across a longer period. So long as enough people sign up and tune in, that's a very good thing for us.

In any event, I actually see this as a fairly positive thing. The problem with the hiatuses of yesteryear was that they happened with little warning, for months upon months without news or any clear signs when they were going to let up.

This, on the other hand, looks like a set seasonal schedule which WB will (hopefully) stick to. 13 weeks off, 13 weeks on, repeat. Or something like that.

Being clear and transparent will be the main boon that will elevate DC Universe over CN as a home for YJ. Assuming they don't donk it up.

Which...yeah, they still could. But I'm crossing my fingers and being cautiously optimistic, at least for now.

<shrug> Maybe the split season setup for Amazon's The Tick (and I suppose Star Trek: Discovery, but that was still releasing individual episodes weekly regardless of the midseason hiatus) did well enough that WB and/or DC are looking to emulate it. Though I admit, it's a bit easy to slip right back into the thinking of getting jerked around in terms of scheduling all over again.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

So it looks like the New Season of Young Justice, or in this case the first 13 episodes, won't air until after Titans finishes their first season. And the next 13 won't air until after Swamp Thing and Doom Patrol finish their first season.
Nice to know that even on a new streaming service Young Justice is still getting jerked around.

"It's the summer of '97, and the Labyrinth Clan is preparing to welcome the newest member of its family. But the firstborn child of two mutates is bound to attract some unwanted attention. Soon enough, Dr. Sevarius' latest scheme may be the least of their worries, as an unseen watcher chooses this moment to strike...and to spirit the entire "birthing party" to his mysterious island."
