Thanks for the review, Matthew. You pointed out some good features about Demona (I liked your mention of how, when she talks about how the humans back in the 10th century betrayed and destroyed the gargoyles, she left out her own role in it - not to mention that the betrayal of the castle was carried out on *behalf* of the gargoyles) and Brooklyn's characterization.

[SPOILER] I'm still not sold on the Slade thing - while it's true he is, in some continuities, good enough to be able to spot Batman like that, in the episode he isn't the one who brings up Tara - Cassandra is. Even if we say that Cassandra is also skilled enough to be able to spot Bats, then - did Shiva bring her to the meeting on the expectation that Batman would listen in? How did Shiva know he'd be there? Unless what you're suggesting is that it was entirely spur-of-the-moment on Slade's part, and if he hadn't spotted Batman then he would have given Cassandra an honest answer? [/SPOILER]

[SPOILER] Honestly, it would make sense if the Light assumed that the Team and Team Exiles were working together under-the-table from the beginning. After all, Artemis, Dick, and Conner never actually put on a show of breaking away from the Team proper, the way Batman did with the League, so even without the synced-up attacks it'd be reasonable for the Light to assume they were sharing information, simply because they have no reason not to. In the episode "Targets" not only was Ra's al Ghul able to pinpoint Red Arrow's hiding spot that eluded both Sportsmaster and Cheshire's notice. He also purposefully lied to Cheshire about wanting Luthor dead in order to better sell the story. Who's to say that the new head of the League of Shadows couldn't do something similar? Notice someone was listening in and purposefully feed them information? And considering Bane was waiting for Batman at their rendezvous point makes me wonder how much the Light is aware of what goes on at Santa Prisca.

Also I never said that the connection between the goggles and Granny Goodness was left there by the Light. What I did suggest was that the Outsiders rescuing Tara the same night that the League (and possibly Batman Inc.) raided the meta-human depots could confirm to the Light that the two teams are working together. The fact that they wanted to deal a huge blow to meta-human trafficking in one fell swoop seems a little too neat. As I said, coordination suggests cooperation.
Also it's important to remember that they were also investigating Jaqqar Marlo's murder at the hands of Black Spider and Tara, who was also connected to Granny Goodness. [/SPOILER]

I think you're misinterpreting some of my points. [SPOILER] I have no doubt that the Light can and has leaked information to the heroes. Obviously, they've done that at several points in the series. However, even in your example, there's an obvious difference. When the Light wanted to make Aqualad think that there might be a mole on the team, Sportsmaster didn't wait until he was having a conversation with Cheshire that he hoped Aqualad was listening in on; he told Kaldur that he had an inside source to his face. That is a much more controlled, easily viable situation than the one on the island - what if Batman had gone to break into the base itself? what if he'd been a minute too late to hear? what if they'd planned their drop for the day before? There are simply too many factors for anyone to reasonably predict without already having insider information. And then, of course, that planted tip is entirely useless without the knowledge that 'Granny' refers to Granny Goodness, which is information the Team only discovered by a fluke. If Perdita and Gar had decided to just go straight to the club, or if Gar had died to the goggles, or if Perdita had tried them on a few hours earlier and vanished, it would've taken much longer for the Team to connect the goggles to metahuman trafficking, and therefore, much longer to connect the 'Granny' Slade mentioned with Granny Goodness, or to steal a pair of goggles and hack into them to find the depot sites. [/SPOILER]

[SPOILER] And, of course, it's a bit misguided to say that since the Light 'predicted' where Wally was going to run, they could uncover the incredibly secret collaboration between the various hero branches. No one ever tried to hide Wally's route - just the opposite, in fact. Public road crews were clearing the way across the entire country, and there were teams of spotters who all knew roughly when he'd be by. To know that Wally would be at that bridge at that time basically only required Vandal to know how to check road closures and aim to be at the end of his route. At most, he might need to do a bit of hacking to find the checkpoint schedule Wally was going by. There was almost no chance of Wally leaving the cleared roads to try and hike through thick snow. All Vandal would have to do is pick his spot, then keep an eye out for Wally and time his entrance appropriately. [/SPOILER]

[SPOILER] It's certainly very personal of Jace to refer to Tara as her little girl. It's also entirely in character for her. She refers to Brion as 'my child', to him and Halo as 'my kids', and so on. It's hardly surprising if she also thought of Tara as her own. [/SPOILER]

MATTHEW - Thanks for the review of "The Thrill of the Hunt". While the moral of the episode is indeed obvious, as you say, I think it works because of the nature of the gargoyles - medieval beings adjusting to the modern world which they've just awakened in. (I've often thought that this similarly keeps Hudson's remark at the start of "Deadly Force", "Movies, television, video games. These days it's hard to tell what's real from what's not." from feeling preachy, making it instead another case of a newly-awakened person from 10th century Scotland trying to comprehend his new surroundings.)
