Pardon the double-post, but I should probably add "as of the afternoon of July 22," as everything I posted will undoubtedly be edited soon. I shouldn't have even said that it was mine, only that it had been mine before I put it in the public domain.

From "Eye of the Beholder" to "Shadows of the Past" is mine. It's no coincidence that those recaps are much heavier on the summaries than on the lists of tropes.

PAUL - So the Recap was your work? Whoa! I hadn't expected it to be the work of anyone from here (though I don't know why now, since it makes sense that the person writing those summaries was also at Station 8).

I actually knew Anansi before I ever watched "Gargoyles", thanks to the inclusion of "Anansi Rides Tiger" in "What Your First Grader Needs to Know".

I've been spending much more time on tvtropes than usual lately, trying to write summaries for some of those Gargoyles episodes. As of now it's up to Shadows of the Past by inclusive reckoning.

Matt> Yep, it seems any diacritical marks give it fits these days.

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

Happened again. But got it working. I removed the accent mark in the word fiance. That must've been what pissed S8 off.

What I was saying is that my fiance and I have been catching up on the "Arrowverse" series (the various DC Comics based series on CW). Last night we watched the short "Vixen" miniseries. The title character carries a totem that was given to her ancestors by Anansi. When Anansi was first mentioned I told the fiance the he was an African trickster god that takes the form of a spider. When this was later shown to be accurate, he was impressed and I said it was just one more example of the education I received from Gargoyles.

There was something else about the totem that made me think of Gargoyles though. Despite being a creation of Anansi, I couldn't help but think that it looked far more like something a trickster half a world would create: Coyote. It almost looks like a miniature version of something from the Pack armor or the Coyote robot. Did anyone else see this and agree?

What funky character did you try to use, Matt?

Apart from for budget reasons (neither were major characters in season 2, so a single set of character models would save money), I'd theorize that they maintained those forms simply because they were used to them.

They'd lived as "the Browns" for a good number of years before Elyon ascended the throne. Those were the forms she was used to, and the ones probably most likely to keep her at ease as they supported her rule.

Huh? I don't remember Elyon's parents having non-human forms. Admittedly, I genreally skip to season two whenever I do a W.I.T.C.H. rewatch.

You know rewatching some videos and I noticed Elyon's adopted parents in season 2 were always depicted in their human form and never their Meridian form. I wonder if Greg W. had a story behind that? But not really important just something I noticed.

That's interesting, Todd. Thanks for sharing.

And glad this site is functioning correctly again. Really, I should've been third! Haha

TV Tropes has begun a "Recap" page for "Gargoyles", with a summary for each episode. It's incomplete, alas (it only goes up to "The Silver Falcon" at present), but what's up already is still good reading.

The entry for "A Lighthouse in the Sea of Time" mentioned that one of Jeffrey Robbins' books was a historical novel about Gilgamesh, a legendary king in ancient Mesopotamia - and brought up that Gilgamesh was close friends with a "wild man" named Enkidu, suggesting that this friendship between a human and an intelligent non-human is a parallel to the friendship that begins in this story between Robbins and Hudson. I hadn't thought of that before, and I don't know if it even occurred to anyone who worked on that episode, but it's a good point. (It also mentioned what I'd known before but had forgotten - that when Goliath mentioned the library having several books about Merlin, he was originally going to name a few specific ones, such as "The Crystal Cave" by Mary Stewart, but they were unable to obtain the rights to mention them.)
