Lesse...of the ones listed, I've quite enjoyed She-Ra and Duck Tales, though perhaps not quite as much as some of the folks here. I wouldn't call either show "great," yet, but both are certainly heading on that trajectory. I look forward to seeing them continue to explore their potential.

I would've said the same about The Dragon Prince Season 1, but I thought Season 2 really knocked it out of the park, and did a bang-up job of getting me invested in its lore and characters. It's still not exactly at Avatar level, but it's getting there.

Strictly sticking with Western Animation, the show I'm most looking forward to returning is Star vs. the Forces of Evil, which is technically back already but I'm waiting for it to hit Disney Channel proper, as I don't pay for XD.

RWBY also recently wrapped up a really swell volume, and the final season of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is just around the corner. And of course, after its superlative Season 5 finale, I can't wait for Steven Universe to release its movie in the fall.

In terms of animation in general, the majority I'm watching at any given moment is usually going to be anime. What I'm following weekly during this (winter 2019) season:

- Fairy Tail Season 9 (FUNimation Now)
- Ace Attorney Season 2 (FUNimation Now)
- Date A Live Season 3 (FUNimation Now)
- How I Got Reincarnated as a Slime(FUNimation Now)
- My Roommate is a Cat(FUNimation Now)
- The Quintessential Quintuplets(FUNimation Now)
- Boogiepop and Others(FUNimation Now)
- Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka(FUNimation Now)
- Endro!(FUNimation Now)
- Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS (VRV/Crunchyroll)
- Land of the Lustrous (VRV/Hi-Dive)
- Girls' Last Tour (VRV/Hi-Dive)
- Dragon Ball Super (Toonami)
- Megalo Box (Toonami)

Of course, the latter four aren't technically new shows, but their respective streaming services/channels are debuting their English dubs weekly in the same "seasonal" model, so I'm counting them.

Also anxiously awaiting Crunchyroll to release the dub of Mob Psycho 100 Season 2, which is apparently complete but they're holding onto for some inexplicable reason.

It's a decent season overall, bolstered by some really good comedies. Last year, though, was a truly spectacular one for anime in general. If folks are curious, these are a few 2018 titles I would heartily recommend (no particular order, though Violet was unquestionably my anime of the year):

- Violet Evergarden (Netflix)
- Aggretsuko (Netflix)
- Kakegurui - Compulsive Gambler (Netflix)
- Dragon Pilot (Netflix)
- My Hero Academia Season 3 (FUNimation Now)
- Attack on Titan Season 3 (FUNimation Now)
- Stein;s Gate 0 (FUNimation Now)
- The Ancient Magus' Bride (FUNimation Now)
- SSSS.Gridman (FUNimation Now)
- Zombie Land Saga (FUNimation Now)
- Chio's School Road (FUNimation Now)
- Hinamatsuri (FUNimation Now)
- Pop Team Epic (FUNimation Now)
- Bloom Into You (VRV/Hi-Dive)

There is balance in all things. Live in symmetry with the world around you. If you must blow things up and steal from those around you, THAT'S WHAT RPGS ARE FOR!

CHIROPTER> I quiet enjoyed Hilda, and have heard promising things about Aggretsuko.

BRAINIAC> Oh dear... maths.

Apologies for the even further extra post, but I just found out these special characters will actually work without breaking the room formatting, so, to properly formalize...

...Happy π Day! But remember that πr² is false. Pie are ROUND; CAKE are squared.

In honor of the one day out of the year everyone has to go with how we represent dates because it doesn't work the other way...Happy Pi Day, everyone.

And to the Wise Man, enjoy the start of Emerald City Comic Con.

This has been your perfect sixth poster. Appropriate to mention a mathematical holiday with a mathematically perfect position.

A couple others I've enjoyed that slipped my mind earlier (they've been on between-season hiatuses for a while): Camp Camp, Hilda, and Aggretsuko. (That last one even features a SpecSpidey alumnus! Though he's a much nicer guy than Eddie Brock this time around. Similar underbite, though, now that I think about it.)

Oh, and Bob's Burgers. Only started watching a year or so ago, and have been catching up on new episodes off and on. An easy to watch show with a very unique charm, I think.

Matthew> Yeah, while nothing's explicitly stated yet, there's definitely some hinting that the history is more complicated than what was told by the
(supposed)
omniscient narrator at the beginning...

Chiropter

MATTHEW> Season 2 of The Dragon Prince feels tighter.
They also introduced a pretty interesting new antagonist.
Algae
Business as usual...

Whoops, sorry about that.
What I meant to say was that I was enjoying Ducktales and I recently re-watched Disenchantment.

The rest of the post is in regards to The Dragon Prince.

I'm enjoying 𝘋𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴 and as a Matt Groening fan I recently re-watched 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵.
As for 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘋𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘯 ð˜-𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦, I watched the first season (haven't gotten around to the second season yet) and I have a few criticisms. On the one hand the premise and setting is interesting, on the other hand I think they were a little lacking in nuance with the backstory. The whole humans bad/elves good was a little too simplistic for a story that also includes displacing an entire race for the actions of what is presumably one person. That and the pacing was kinda poor, especially regarding the brother and sister and their subplot.

Now I don't know if this has been addressed/fixed in the second season but I hope it has.

I agree that the latest "Duck Tales" episode was definitely remarkable -
daring, for a start, to be a "one-character" story (if you don't count the Moon Mite or the brief search party appearance) until near the end. And it's turned Della Duck into a full-scale character rather than (as she's been up till now - not just in the cartoon, but in Disney in general) an off-stage sister to Donald and mother to Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Todd Jensen

CHIROPTER> I'm very fond of both Carmen Sandiego and DuckTales myself. Whatever Happened to Della Duck? is a new high point in a series that's already had a fair few,

Fourth!

Algae> Definitely really into both She-Ra and The Dragon Prince. Also recently watched the new Carmen Sandiego series, which I found quite enjoyable, albeit with a bit more of an "intended for a younger audience" feel.

However, number one on my current list is definitely DuckTales. I think I'm probably at the point where I can safely call it a Gargoyles/Spectacular Spider-Man/Avatar/Gravity Falls-level obsession. Which I never would have called two years ago, seeing as I never watched the original series or read the comics. But sue me, I love these ducks now. *hums the Moon Theme*

Chiropter

So in the interest of drumming up discussion, what non-Weisman animated shows have y'all been watching lately? I'm super into She-Ra & the Princesses of Power myself but The Dragon Prince has also been pretty good.
