If the Space-Spawn did destroy Earth, would Avalon be destroyed with it?
Yes.
Do the other clans existing throughout the world all speak English so well? Are they fluent in a more native tongue? I didn't expect Golaith, etc. to be able to communicate so easily with foreign clans or did this just have to do with the simple fact that the TV show was being watched by a majority of Americans? (Basically the same as asking why all the aliens in Star Trek English fluently)
I would have liked to have done more with foreign languages during the world tour, but that was actually vetoed by our bosses.
We'll assume for now, just for now, that Zafiro, Kai and the others had reason to learn English.
What is the N'kai's homeworld called? Where exactly is it in the galaxy? If you can't be very specific could you tell us by which stars it's located by?
Haven't bothered naming it yet, to be honest.
It's in the Milky Way Galaxy and I haven't pinned it down more specifically than that.
1.In 2198 which side is winning the war the N'kai, the third unknown race or the Space-Spawn?
2a. What is the role of the third race?
2b.Are they allied with one of the two sides we presently know of or are they a 3rd side trying to expand their borders at the expense of their neighbors?
1. The Space-Spawn.
2a. Not going to tell you.
2b. Not going to tell you.
We call ourselves humans and the gargs call themselves the gargoyles what exactly is the name the Space-Spawn call themselves?
What makes you think it isn't "Space-Spawn"?
At the time the space-spawn (is that the name they call themselves?) take control of Earth, who is winning the war?
Maybe that's a little ambiguous.
1. Which side controls the most territory?
2. Which side has the greatest numbers?
3. If they were so inclined, does Nokkar's race have the resources to reconquer Earth?
The Space-Spawn are clearly winning.
1. Space Spawn.
2. This is immaterial.
3. Without it getting destroyed in the process? Hmmm. I doubt it.
Is Nokkar wearing a suit of armor or is he a cyborg? If the latter, is that part of why he's lived so long?
He's not a cyborg.
How far will Earth have gone into space exploration by 2198? Will we have left our solar system?
No. Well, do you mean manned space exploration?
If all things are true in the Gargoyles Universe, then are UFOs (and all related phenomena, including abductions) really appearing there?
In one form or another.
The Anonymous question about Nokkar's race's proximity to being a First One is a Babylon 5 reference. The First Ones are several fairly ancient and powerful alien races (the Shadows and the Vorlons being the main examples in the series). So, his question could be rephrased as, "Does Nokkar's race qualify as ancient and powerful in the universe?"
Just clearing that up. (I hope.)
Ancient and fairly powerful. Age and power all being relative in this context.
1) Will we ever receive any direct answers on the Lost Race other than "Maybe", "I'm not saying", "I'm not saying at this time", etc. any time soon?
2) Can you tell us everything about the Lost Race?
3) If so, tell us about the Lost race.
1. Maybe but I'm not saying at this time.
2. Everything? No.
3. Well, they're lost. Bad sense of direction.
Hey..what the heck..while I'm here..
Are you in the mood _today_ to tell us about Lexington's mate? *smiles* *crosses talons*
Yeah. What do you want to know?
Did humans really build the great (known) monuments of the ancient world by themselves in the Gargoyles Universe? I refer to the Egyptian and Mayan pyramids, Stonehenge, etc. (Personally, I'd prefer to think so.)
Not saying at this time. Plus there isn't just one answer to a question that large.
What is the famous words used to activate the Phoenix Gate?
From memory, which may not be too reliable:
Desligrate muri tempe et intervalia!
If the past is fixed in the Gargoyles universe, how does that affect those that can see the future? Can they change something that has yet to happen or are any efforts they make futile?
Any 'sight' is generally subject to interpretation.
But who said ANYONE can see the future?
Does Dr. Sevarius have any sort of public reputation (known in scientific circles, being published, etc.) or is he pretty much an unknown outside of Xanatos/Cyberbiotics/Nightstone?
He's semi-well known in certain circles.
Hey, Greg:
I was checking the archives, and I think I can explain why sometimes, the gargoyles turn to stone slowly, and sometimes just slowly solidify until they're completely in stone. In Awakening 1, Goliath and Hudson could've turned to stone slowly because they were struggling, so the body couldn't solidify as quickly. So it starts down and spreads throughout their bodies until they're trapped in stone. When they're sitting/standing still, the body can solidify at normal speed. Anyway, that's what I think makes sense. What do you think, oh wise Greg?
Oh wise Demona Taina, it makes sense to me.
In 2198, should I take it that Katana Isn't with Brooklen at that point? And, does Brooklen stay with the resistance for the magority of the spin off?
Also, sence eggs take 10 years to hatch, do Brooklen and Katana have to lug each of their eggs around with them always to be sure that the egg time dances as well?
Initially, Katana is not with Brooklyn when he first arrives in 2198. Though Fu Dog is.
And yes, Brooklyn and Katana had to lug Nash's egg around for ten years. Tachi's for almost as long.
Hey Greg!:)
Brooklyn TD's to 2198 so he knows some things that are going to occur. But by him being in that time line, and not gone TDing doesn't that change things? I guess with Goliath and Griff the events that had to occur did, they just came about in different ways, because Goliath was there to change things. Is this correct?
By the time Brooklyn returns from TDing would he be resigned to letting things happen as they would?
Just keep his mouth shut, and let things occur?
Or at least warn ppl if he felt it necessary?
(IE: They can't stop a bomb from dropping, but they can at least be prepared to deal with it, in the very least, emotionally?)
I hope this wasn't too messy..
Uh, Lexy, I'm just not following your first paragraph, which may mean that you aren't getting the rules of time travel in the Garg Universe... or am I just dense?
What I will say is that Brooklyn intentionally does NOT learn much about the immediate future of his friends and family. What he knows of the future is of events two centuries removed. He doesn't go back and research the time between.
During TimeDancer, would Brooklyn et al visit future time periods beyond 2198? Or the truly distant past (pre-dinosaurs)?
Thanks.
No plans for him to go beyond 2198 (or 99 or so). No plans for him to go pre-dinosaur either.
Hey again..
At mug-a-guest you mentioned that Alex will be living for a
long time. This due to his 3rd race genes. My question is if he lives longer will he also age slower?
We didn't get to see a lot of him on the show so I was wondering if he was actually going to age slower, or just age as a normal human and then hit a point where he aged slower.
Thanks again!
The aging of Alex is a story in and of itself. Initially he will age like a normal human. Right now, in August of 2001, he's five. That's all I'm saying at this point.
Reckoning:
1)At the fun house, when Goliath goes for help, why dosn't he bring Claw and Maggie. I know it's a pretty dumb question, but hey.
2a)Does Sevarius still work at Gen-u-tec, as well as at Nighstone. Does he still work for Xanatos, or do Xanatos new priorities require letting Sevarius go. b)Would Sevarius make somthing like Thailog ever agian? Was he as scared by him as Xanatos was? c) Is Thailog on much better terms with his father Sevarius, or would he still like to kill him if he lost his usefullness?
1. He doesn't have time to stop by BOTH the Clock Tower and the Labyrinth. If you were Goliath, where would you go? (Keep in mind that neither Claw or Maggie are really 'warriors born'.)
2a. As of when?
2b. Sevarius is not too big on common sense, I think.
2c. Thailog's not on great terms with any of his fathers.
I really enjoyed the Gathering this year. Many thanks to you and the staff for getting all the guest panelists.
My husband is a rather shy type; he thought the following question during the production seminar, but didn't even tell me until several days after the Gathering.
What is the silliest idea you ever had, and what is the silliest idea you ever pitched?
Pitched? I don't think I ever pitched anything that I didn't legitimately believe would make a good show.
Including a shot of Michael Eisner getting his rug yanked off by one of the "Quarks" in the pitch for that show, might have been the single STUPIDEST thing I ever pitched. (You'll notice we never did make "Quarks".)
As for silly ideas, I get a lot of those. There's this notion about a guy named Vinnie, who....
Something came to mind today, and was just wondering your opionon on this one. Seeing his past works. And pretty soon, current work, Planet of the Apes.
What would think if Tim Burton signed on as director of a live action Gargoyles movie?
For me, a half of me fears that and the other half thinks it might be cool. Not sure about that myself.
I like some of Burton's movies (PeeWee's Big Adventure, Edward Scissorhands) and dislike some of them (Batman Returns).
I think my feelings on the subject mirror yours.
so the Haida people invited a gargoyle clan to Queen Florence Island and later France would make a similar request? i guess i was thinking that a country would generally not want a gargoyle clan cuz of all the politics and possible trouble that would come of it.
when the so-called Gargoyle Nation said it was going to create a new clan do most countries around the world invite the Gargoyles to their nation or are Canada and France only two of the few countries that invited a clan?
why did the French goverment and Haida people want a clan?
Two VERY different situations we're talking about here.
The Haida people had a long-term relationship with the Gargoyle Nation, which I don't want to get into at this time.
YEARS LATER -- years after the initial Space-Spawn Invasion -- many cities would vie for the shot at welcoming the 14th clan. Paris' bid would win.
