Hi Greg! I have loved this show since i was 8 and now im 16 and im still watching the reruns! Anyway, i am a New Yorker and I think you did a great job of portraying the City realitically. But-one thing bothers me. In New York there are many precincts and youmade it seem like the only police department in the city was the one Elisa worked in. How come in any of the episodes you never see another precinct?
We actually made an effort to portray this realistically. Elisa may get involved in investigating crimes that wind up taking her out of her precinct's boundaries, but she doesn't get started investigating crimes that don't begin within those boundaries. (If that's clear.)
Me again :), lemme get one more question on before i head off to work.
1)Does Goliath still feel anything for Demona , or is he just filled with hate for her ?
danke
I liked that female clone , I think if she lived her and Brooklyn would have made a great pair.
Gargoyles Forever !
1. Goliath's feelings (and he has many) for Demona are decidedly mixed.
I have other plans for both Brooklyn & Delilah.
where can I go to get good pictures of the gargoyles?( I would like to draw some of them)
Ask the fans in the comment room. I don't know.
Ok im not gonna ask to many questions, I know your probably going crazy from all the other questions that everyone else is asking. I was reading through the archive and FAQ's to hunt to see if what I was going to ask was already answered and over 2-3 hours later when I lost all felling in my butt(shut up ;p) and my eyes about to pop out; to my dismay I didnt find the answers, unless my dumbass just didnt see them which that is probably more likley. We'll here they are
1) hmm how can I put this (no not a sex question) I was wondering what the Gargoyles skin is?... uh ours is flesh , lizards are scales, bears are fur. Now some Gargoyles you can tell what thier skin is just by looking at them, so I guess this is leaning more towards the Scotish Clan. Depending on what breed of animal they are the skin would be more harder to puncher.
2)Darn forget what episode , We'll it's the one when Owen stuck his hand in the pot of life and it turned into stone, I took notice in the rest of the shows his hand pretty much stayed in the same postition, but when watching "Broadway goes to Hollywood" he was holding a book with that hand. So my question is can he move that hand as if it wasn't stone or was that just a glitch in that episode ?
3)Regarding to question #2. When Owen turns into Puck his hand is not stone anymore, since they are 2 different people im guessing that when he's Owen he has a different body and Puck the same , but they still do share the same body, is that Pucks magic changing his hand to flesh for teaching shake ?, you can just say , sure whatever you think for this one. I don't quite know what I just asked either.
I'm one of those people that analyze everything kinda goes with the territory with having a slight case of O.C.D, ya notice things that no one else does, but kinda miss the things that are right in the open.
Danke for taking the time to answer my questions.
Gargoyles Forever !
1. We always referred to it as "hide".
2. "The Price". I didn't work on "Broadway Goes To Hollywood", but that clearly is a mistake.
3. They aren't two different people. Owen is an identity that Puck can assume. When Puck returns to being Owen, he recreates the stone hand -- all part of his bargain with Xanatos.
In the Episode Seeing isn't believeing I noticed that the drawings were different, which to say the truth I was thinking about how different they looked during the whole show which made it hard to pay attention to what was going on. I was wondering what happened to the orginal drawers, and why was the drawings of everyone different ?
Gargoyles Forever!
Except for "The Journey", I've only seen each episode of "The Goliath Chronicles" once (back in 1996/97). Frankly, I can't even remember which episode you're referring to.
I do recall that one of the episodes looked like it was an episode of Aladdin.
In any case, I had nothing to do with the production of those episodes. Couldn't tell you why it looks the way it does. Sorry.
So many questions, so little time. So i'll get right the the question :)
In the episode "Hunter's Moon - Part 3" what ever happened to the vile of the fullfillment spell that Demona threw into the air and Goliath caught, I saw him hand it over to Hudson but where did it go after that ?
Danke for answering.
Gargoyles Forever !!
The vial wasn't the spell. It was a mix of chemicals that would be harmless the next day and/or away from the Cathedral. I have to assume that Goliath and company destroyed it at the first opportunity.
Concering this "Lost Race" did they know of the Gargoyles, Humans and Oberon's Children or did the three races evolve after their extinction?
They knew.
Hello!
Okay, I goofed up big timeon one of my questions. My June 11th one where I'm asking about the car was a total mistake. My brain apparently flipped the image and I thought I saw it differently. This hasn't been the first time my mind has done that. Try looking at it from my point of view, everyone uses their right hand. However, I use my left hand so I sometimes get right and left confussed. Well, anyway, I'll write later or who knows I might be able to come to the next Gathering, if my mom ever stops treating me like a little baby.
Choa, The Cat(El Gato)
I'm afraid I don't remember the June 11th question. So don't sweat it.
I myself have left/right dyslexia.
Was Nought made up or did he already exist in some myth or legend?
I have some notions to connect him to a couple of mythological figures, but that came after the fact. Originally, we just made up the visual. I added the name here at ASK GREG.
Hey Greg. I found a picture of Brooklyn and Demona together in armor. Did they fight against Goliath? And I also found a picture and it said, "Goliath holding a dead Broadway". What happened at the end of the Gargoyles's series?
I'm guessing that these are stills from the episode "Future Tense".
In that episode, Puck created the illusion that Goliath arrived in Manhattan forty years into the future.
The episode was intentionally apocalyptic and many characters "died" inside the illusion before Goliath figured out the truth.
It was also designed to freak out Goliath (and the audience) as much as possible. So among other bizarre revelations, Brooklyn & Demona were mates.
I was just on a Web site and bought all the Disney's Gargoyles Movies that I could find,I've also been taping the shows that have been playing on the T.V., I was wondering if Disney or anyone (not knowing who has the legal rights) is thinking about putting the 3 seasons on VHS or DVD ?
Thanks for taking your time to answer :)
Gargoyles Forever !
Yes, the first season will be released on DVD this year (2004). If it sells well, watch for the other seasons to follow.
in the "Avalon", when Magus is talking to Elisa, there is a flashback of Tom and Katherine playing with the young gargoyles. i was curious if you knew how old the gargoyles were in that flashback. do you have in your timeline what year that was?
I do not have a fixed year for that brief flashback assigned in my timeline.
This has probably been asked already, but why was Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles cancelled? it was such a great show and also are there any talks of continuing the epic saga of the Gargoyles?
Gargoyles ended after 65 episodes in syndication, because 65 episodes is a standard syndication package.
Gargoyles: The Goliath Chronicles ended after 13 additional episodes on ABC, because of poor ratings and (I think) a generally lower quality of product.
I'm always talking about bringing it back, but I don't think anyone at Disney takes me seriously. However, if the DVDs sell well, that could change.
I hope these questions are alright. I was wondering if there were any episodes on video, of Gargoyles and if not, why the show was never able to. And also, what caused Gargoyles to end so early, having only three seasons, or were there more?
The entire first season of Gargoyles was released on video back in the day.
That same first season is being released this year on DVD.
The second season will no doubt become available if the first season sells well.
Who was Lexingtons mate
Not saying at this time.
Will Goliath and Elsa get further into there relashiship
Yup.
Did you make up Oberon, or is he apart of real legend and myth.
He's part of real myth & legend, and more importantly Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream".
I was wondering, theres alot of people and i mean alot of people that love this show, cant we do something to try to get it back into the making, a online petition maybe,we could send it to Disney im sure once they see how many people want the show back on the air they wouldnt pass up the rattings and money that it could bring in.
my question:
this is one of my fav. parts in all of the shows, In the episode Vendettas the guy that creams Goliath in the face with the banana cream pie, I notcied that afterwards when he is walking away he starts to hum the Gargoyles theme song, I was Wondering whos idea was it to put that in there?
Out of all the shows if I were to have a Top 10 list for the funniest parts that would have to be in my Top 5. its good to see that a somewhat of a dark show has its funny, caring parts in it.
Gargoyles Forever !
The two biggest things that you can do to revive the show are (a) attend the Gathering and (b) buy the DVD when it comes out later this year. Show Disney that you're willing to spend money to get more Gargoyles, and they'll take notice.
As for Vinnie's humming, that was my idea. Glad you liked it.
Hey Greg, I'm a fan of Gargoyles and I just stumbled upon your website. So to get to the point I was wanting to know if you could tell me all the encantations/spells used in the show. I find them all really cool. I especially like Puck's spells (most likely because he's my favorite character).
Thank you very much!
You know, I'd just have to go through all my tapes and/or scripts and transcribe them. And since it's been nearly two years since you posted, and I'm not even sure if you're still checking the site, I'm gonna pass on that chore.
Besides, just watch the eps and you can do it.
But I'm glad you liked the spells and Puck.
Who the hell is Katana??
Brooklyn's mate, to be introduced in Feudal Japan (as part of the Ishimura Clan) during the course of the proposed TimeDancer spin-off series.
But why are you cursing? It's kinda rude.
Hello, Greg!
It was cool to see you again at the Gathering! and great radio-play, too!
I've a couple of questions, about Team Atlantis.
1) when did Demona heard about Atlantis? and that her race was named Gorlois by the city named above?
2)Can you tell us the title of the Team Atlantis episode set at the Loch Ness? (and I don't mean the Bush Garden's ride! ;-) )
that's all! pahgen! Gaa-moahk! ( thanks and Good bye. I know, my atlantean accent sucks!)
1. Prior to 1920.
2. I'm sorry, but I just don't remember. That was three years ago.
alright,i'd like to begin by saying how much i truly, deeply love Gargoyles. it is the most incredible show i have ever seen. but i'll save higher efforts of ego inflation for later.
my question is about the Gatherings. i've noticed that when people have asked you about Team Atlantis or, in one case, who created the Praying Gargoyle statue, you told them the answer would be revealed at G2002. i was unable to attend this Gathering, cuz of the whole "no money" thing so will these answers be brought up in 2003 or here on Station 8 or will i just never be able to find them out? i'm gonna try to go to G2003, because it's very close to where i live.
which brings me to my next question. am i allowed to attend The Gathering even if i'm not staying at the hotel there? i know i should probably try to find these answers online before asking you but i figured since i was already here.
thanks for your time, sir!
-kR
I hope you attended G2003 and are planning to come to G2004 this month in Manhattan. You do NOT have to stay at the hotel, though I recommend it. For more info, check out:
http://www.gatheringofthegargoyles.com/
Anyway, info on the Praying Gargoyle is available at every Gathering, starting in 2002. The short answer, however, is that the statuette was created by the Atlanteans.
I was watching The Gathering part 2 recently, and got to wondering, what is Hudson's sword made out of? It's obviously not iron otherwise it would ave cut through Oberon's hair (jst as a reminder as the gargs were fighting Oberon he made strands of his hair go and grab Goliath). It was suggested to me that maybe the sword is bronze, but that has a couple of problems: 1. Obviously if it's bronze the color is wrong, 2. Bronze is a realtivly soft metal and doesn't hold an edge very well. The more logical possibility I can think of is that the sword has some sort of magic in it, but i would think that would allow it to harm Oberon, so it doesn't seem that that likely. The less logical possibility that popped into my head is that Gargoyles are secretly insanely good metal workers, and the had discovered some sort of alloy that worked very well in weaponry. If you don't know, it's no big deal, your a creator, not a metalurgist.
I don't know. Can't it be steel?
By the way, he got the sword from a Viking.
Hi,
I just started watching you show. I really want to see "Hunters Moon". Last nights show was "The Reckoning". Which one comes first.
Reckoning comes before Hunter's Moon.
Greg,
What episodes was Faloog in? (Not sure if I spelled that correctly, Goliath's clone). He was really cool, but I was only able to catch the first time he appeared.
Thailog was introduced in "Double Jeopardy". He next appeared in "Sanctuary" and "The Reckoning". "Thailog Shock Troops" appeared in "Future Tense", but they were just Puck's creations, used to fool Goliath. Thailog also appeared in some episode of Goliath Chronicles, but I can't remember the name.
