hi i was wondering if you have production images(frount back view of the character sketches)or good pics of certain characters from gargolyes like coyote robot from the epsiode "upgrade" and "grief" and the cybots robots and walk-a-bout nano technology robot desighns,if you are willing i would be very gratfull:}
I don't have any production images. But if you ask in the s8 comment room, someone there should be able to direct you to a website that does.
I love the series. Is there a RPG based off of the series?
I don't know.
'sup Greg?
You just recently posted a reply to a question about whether or not you would consider writing a Gargoyles novel to help flesh out your master plan in lieu of doing a continuation of the series. This seems like a good idea to me. You replied that you would love to write a novel (or eight) if you could find an interested publisher. But you don't need a traditional publisher to get published these days. You can write a book, publish it online, and interested parties can order copies and the books can be printed one at a time. This means no huge financial risk for publishers and so no need for a huge audience, it means increased per-sale profit for the author, which would be good for you since the novels probably won't make the NY Times Bestseller list and you would probably want at least some financial incentive to pour so much of your time into such a project. These days anybody can get published, it's something you ought to look into, as an outlet for yourself as well as for all the dedicated fans. Though personally I'm pulling for the DVD sales to get that movie made and then a new series... but I know that's probably wishful thinking at this point. we'll see in four days how that's going to pan out..
Good luck in all your future endeavors.. which you will have about two years worth of from now until the time you actually answer this. :)
The idea has crossed my mind before -- on other properties -- but you're leaving out a big piece of the puzzle here in the gargverse. I don't OWN Gargoyles. I can't self-publish a for-profit Garg novel.
Hi Greg-
First let me thank you and the rest of the Gargoyles team for the series. I have been a fan since it debuted. Truthfully, whether or not this actually gets posted doesn't concern me, but I just read a post/reply about writing novels. DAW Books is always encouraging submissions, so here is the link:
http://www.dawbooks.com/static/cs/us/50/submissions.html
It gives all the instructions for your submission. Once again thanks and I finally saw the "sneak peek" for W.I.T.C.H. and if it holds true, I look forward to seeing Season 2.
You seem to be under the assumption that I've written a novel to submit. But I haven't. Given that it's a property that I do not own, I can't justify spending the time to write an entire novel on spec, in the hopes that some publisher will want it so much that they will not only pay me but they will also pay Disney to let them publish it (the latter being a not unconsiderable sum, I'd guess).
EYE OF THE STORM
(And a Happy Thanksgiving 2004, BTW.)
This was the second time the Eye surprised me--the first being when it was revealed to be more than a mere bauble. Now we find out it really is Odin's eye, and he's looking for it.
I love Odin's "old wanderer" guise. The "star-cloak" is nicely done. His final, "Warrior-King" ensemble is a little less impressive to me, actually, but still nice (and hey--having little exposure to the great Kirby's work, it looked pretty fresh to me).
This is one of those episodes where, after watching it, you realise just how EASY things would have been if everyone had been honest and open from the start. As you pointed out Greg, Odin could have just said, "Hi! Welcome to Norway! I'm Odin, I'll be your resident supernatural being today. Oh, by the way, could I have my eye back please? I really miss having depth perception." He might have actually got his Eye in less time than it takes to watch the first Act. And poor Gunther and Erik wouldn't have lost a wall of their house!
Erik is an interesting fellow, to me. He know's Elisa's hiking story is suspect, but he doesn't want to press her about it, and in fact seems to have a rather cheerful attitude in spite of the deception. He also, to me, never seems to quite trust Goliath. Even after Elisa's first brought him up to speed he says, "From what you've told us, it sounds like we're in good hands with your Goliath." He doesn't sound completely sure about that.
Gunther's reaction to the gargoyles and the world they open up is great--wonder and enthusiasm. Pretty much what you'd expect for a boy his age. I love his eagerness to see Angela and Bronx wake up, along with his happy, "Hi, you must be An-GEL-a" (I love his strange pronunciation there).
I also love Angela's response to that greeting--"Uh...yes, I am." You go to sleep and then wake up on top of a car with a young lad happily saying your (mispronounced) name--yeah, that can be disorienting.
"The Fall of Goliath"--This was very well done. I liked how you guys developed the way in which the Eye "corrupts" Goliath. It takes his caring, protective nature and twists it into a rigid, tyrannical, "It's all for your own good" sort of thing. I have to admit I was at first surprised when it was revealed that he had been creating the storms, but afterwards it made perfect sense.
Actually, it's interesting that, after riding away and yelling "This isn't over," Odin really does cease to take any action against our heroes. He doesn't surface again until Goliath calls him out.
That battle is very well-done, BTW. It's pretty obvious that in terms of raw power, Goliath's got the edge, however Odin is the one who uses more subtlety--such as freeing Goliath's friends.
Goliath has some real "villain" moments in this piece, the most obvious of course being his line to Odin, "How frustrating for you, Old Man. To be so close to Death, and Rejuvination at the same time." Did anyone else hear a "Darth Vader Breath-Track" there?
Others would include the one you pointed out, Greg, where Goliath just says they'll "pack" Angela and Bronx--that always threw me off for some reason--and just the way he says, "A cave...yes, a cave would be ideal."
Before I forget, "Odinized Goliath" had a great design--and I like how it was tied in with Odin's "Warrior-King" design. The starry (sp?) wings were a nice touch, too.
SOME RANDOM THOUGHTS:
Goliath: "Believe it or not, we've hit ice."
Elisa: "I believe it." (A fun little exchange.)
I love how Goliath holds Elisa at the beginning. Obviously, it's to try and keep her warm...but there's, to me, a pretty strong undercurrent of attraction there. And I love his line (and the way he says it), "It is my duty to protect you."
Dang! In trying to get the Sturllisen's (sp?) car to stop, our heroes nearly send them over a cliff! Good thing Goliath can pretty much bench their car.
Elisa tries to outrun a man on a horse...well, I guess it beats just standing around, but they both have the same outcome.
I really wish more had been done with Goliath's first sight of the sun. This time, though, I began to wonder if Goliath was more enamoured with the feeling of the sun, or the feeling of the POWER coursing through him.
"Maybe you should take the Eye off now." I love how Goliath pauses ever so slightly before answering that.
I recall someone once saying that they were glad neither Gunther nor Erik became a new hero for Norway. :-)
Angela and Bronx are crusted with ice before they awaken. I rather liked that.
"The Eye! The Eye has gone to your head!" I love the look on Goliath's face after that--the raised brow ridge. It's almost like he's reacting to the (unintentional on Elisa's part) pun.
Goliath's turn around was a bit too quick and pat, but it nevertheless touched on Goliath's love for his daughter. I rather like Elisa's admission "Wish I'd thought of that." Maybe I'm reading too much into that, but it seems to me like it touches on Elisa's feelings for Goliath. Elisa may not be much for being the "Damsel in Distress"(tm), but all the same, I think she sort of likes being "rescued" by Goliath.
BTW, when'd the Eye get its "neck-chain" back?
To me, Odin's putting his Eye in its socket wasn't anti-climactic. It was just right. I mean, that's all he really wanted it for. And his and Goliath's final exchange was very well-done. I like how they admitted that each of them had kind of screwed up.
At any rate, I really enjoyed this episode and was glad to get a chance to see what happened when Goliath wore the Eye of Odin.
BTW, way back when you rambled on TEMPTATION (3 years ago, I think?) you said there were 3 toy tie-ins throughout the series. The first was the motorcycle in TEMPTATION. The second was supposed to be the helicoptor in HER BROTHER'S KEEPER (which wound up becoming a "sky sled"). And the third was supposed to be in this episode. So, what was the toy supposed to be?
"Oh, by the way, could I have my eye back please? I really miss having depth perception."
LOL
As for the toy connection, they wanted a "STORM-BRINGER GOLIATH" (I think that was the name). They were doing a whole line of elemental gargoyles. Ice-Brooklyn, I think, was one. They wound up doing Hudson as the storm gargoyle, I seem to recall (although it's been a LONG time and I don't have those toys).
Also, as I've mentioned before, the EYE OF ODIN itself was the invention of the Disney Interactive Games people, and they used it in the game they created over there. (In fact they had a better - NORSER- design than we had. I always thought that our design looked a bit too Egyptian.)
Hi Greg,
I recently wrote a Guide for the Gargoyle's video game (2 years ago when you get this). You can check it out here:
<http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/genesis/file/gargoyles.txt>
I summarized the story in the beginning of the guide and thought you might be curious about it. Basically the Vikings attack Castle Wyvern because the 'evil' Eye of Odin compels them to. Goliath defeats them and wakes up in the future only to find out that the Eye has teamed up with Demona (for some reason the Eye is a sentient, flying Eye... they don't say why).
Sorry for being long winded, here are my questions:
1.) Is there any talk within Disney about making a new 'Gargoyles' video game and/or have you tried to/been approached about convincing Disney to make one?
2.) Do you think that the video game format is a good way to tell the story of 'Gargoyles'? If yes what part of the 'Gargoyles' series would you like to make into a game?
Gargoyles is a great show and thanks for taking the time to answer these questions.
1. No and no.
2. Honestly, I'm not much of a gamer. I'd be "game" (sorry) to try. But I don't know much at all about the medium.
i am working on a school project about gothic architecture and i am wondering if there is a gargoyel video game created
There was way back when.
Gargoyles has easily been my favorite animated series since it's birth. I've just discovered this website today, and can't restrain myself from asking the simple question of: Will Gargoyles ever been continued in anyway some day? Tv or book? It would be the greatest thing since.. Gargoyles hit tv. Also, I've looked, probably not hard enough, but do any novels based on the series or otherwise exist? If so, I would love to get some.
A tremendous amount of thanks in advance.
Slave Labor Graphics and Creature Comics.com has tentatative plans to start up a GARGOYLES comic book in the coming year. Keep an eye out here for more info.
There are no Gargoyles novels that I'm aware of, but I'd love to write one.
What did the Scrolls of Merlin, read by MacBeth, read? Can you provide me with what they said? I know that in the show, you had MacBeth read only a small excerpt from the first scroll. Can you provide me with the actual script that the scrolls contained? I need it for my project...
What "project"?
And are you asking me for a full transcript of the scrolls or for a copy of the "Lighthouse" script?
Cuz the former doesn't exist and the latter... well, I can't start sending scripts out... where would it end?
I would like a picture drawn of goliath breaking out of the stone not the beginning process the close to the end my email address is roscoe83@blackplanet.com asap thank you
Sounds good. When you get it, can you send me a copy?
I am looking for illuminated Gargoyles merchandized from The Hunchback of Notre Dame movie release. Do you know where I might find them?
Nope.
Hi again Greg. I remember asking you a couple years ago if you ever played the Gargoyles Video Game on the Sega Genesis. Well now I know you don't play video games much. But I was wondering if you ever saw screen shots of that game. You get to play as Goliath, and it's a pretty fun game. (But it does get hard!) Goliath's wings look kind of funny in that game though, they look way too small. But you get to fight the steel clan and even fight Demona at the end!
I did see some of their development on the game. But I've never played it.
First of all I want to thank you for creating the Gargoyles. Even after all these years I still enjoy revisiting them.
I was, of course, very disappointed when the show was cancelled and I would love to see a movie made but I will not hold my breath for waiting. My question for you is this:
If the movie ends up never coming to light, would you ever consider publishing a full length novel? I know that there is a lot of fan fiction out there but there is something about a real "live" book that is so much more satisfying. That and the fact that, as with many other fans, I am avidly curious as to your master plan.
I apologize if you have answered this question before, I browsed through the archives if the answere is there I missed it.
Thankyou for your time.
:)
Yeah, you must have missed it -- several times over.
Anyway, yes, I'd LOVE to write a novel (or eight) based on GARGOYLES. All I need is an interested publisher. Know any?
Well I know this may be against the rules on this question but Im a gamer and a fan of the show. I loved the show and loved it when a game was released for Gargoyles. Id really love to see a new game for xbox or a platform release. Id deffinatly buy it for my system and think allot of fans would as well. Have you considered trying to pitch this idea to anyone?
I'm open to the idea, but I don't have any particular connections in that world.
Hello Greg,
Okay where do I start? My daughter Elisabeth (she is 8 years old), is a complete die-hard fan of the Disney Gargoyle series. One of her wishes from Santa is to get an Autograph and or letter from (actually she would really love to meet one of the creators, but I told her that this wouldn't be quiet so easy even for the "big guy"to do) for Christmas. And of course if possible to get some of the Gargoyle Action Figures. Now, the later you probably aren't able to help me with, but maybe a with the Autograph? She only has these 2 wishes for Christmas. Due to the limited supply and the fact that I am not looking to collect, but to buy these toys for play, things are a little more difficult for me ($$ wise). Is it possible to get an autograph from you? I have no problem paying postage etc. You would make her Christmas wish come true. I made her a collage from Gargoyles that hangs above her bed & it would be so wonderful to full-fill this wish for her in adding your autograph to it. Please help! (or email me at Pvongraf@yahoo.com)
Thank you,
Patricia
P.S. She has this huge imagination, is a great artist, that sells her pictures for 1$ a piece on the weekend in front of our door (lol maybe a future cartoonist?) and she actually wishes she could be in real life a Gargoyle. I fully support her in her hobby, as I do like the story too. (Thank good she doesn't like Pokemon etc). A big compliment to you! And Thank you!
Patricia,
Well... two years have passed since you posted this request. I'm afraid I'm only seeing it now for the first time. If your daughter still wants an autograph for Christmas THIS year, contact Gorebash, and he'll forward the contact information to me.
Of course, another way to meet me and other professionals involved with the show is to attend the annual Gathering of the Gargoyles convention. It'll be in Las Vegas in 2005.
Do you have any pictures from the "Bushido" episode?
I have the episode on video.
I have been looking over Gargoyles fan sites and in the credits for some of the voice actors I have found the following:
Gargoyles: Brothers Betrayed (1998)
Gargoyles: The Force of Goliath (1998)
Gargoyles: The Hunted (1998)
After scanning your FAQs I am unable (or just blind) to find out what these are. Would you be good enough to tell me. Thanks
Brian
Sure.
In the late 90s, Buena Vista Home Entertainment released the first season of Gargoyles on 5 home videos. I'll list the videos with the episodes they presented below:

"Awakening, Part Two"
"Awakening, Part Three"
"Awakening, Part Four"
"Awakening, Part Five"
[Note that this was an edited movie version of our five-part pilot, originally created for a special World Premiere screening in September, 1994.]
2. GARGOYLES: The Hunted
"The Thrill of the Hunt"
"Temptation"
3. GARGOYLES: The Force of Goliath
"Deadly Force"
"Enter Macbeth"
4. GARGOYLES: Deeds of Deception
"The Edge"
"Long Way to Morning"
5. GARGOYLES: Brothers Betrayed
"Her Brother's Keeper"
"Reawakening"
All of these episodes -- UNCUT -- will be available on December 7th, 2004 on DVD. Along with some cool extras.
Greg, have you or disney been contacted by any computer game developers or publishers with possibly making a game in the gargoyles universe for the PC or the consoles,(eg playstation2, xbox ect). Are you a computer gamer yourself and if so what games do you play, and what games you have played do you like the most. My faverote would have to be the awersome PC game Deus Ex, becorse amongsed other things the mood and the hi-tech dystopian future theme reminded me of the kickass gargoyles "future tens" episode.
e-mail:theenclave@hotmail.com
I'm not a gamer myself. I did help Disney Interactive work on a Gargoyles game way back when. Nothing since. But I'd be very interested in helping.
My son is almost six years old and loves Gargoyles, he stayed up late one night and caught wind of it, that was all it took, a true fan and myself. I tape it everynight 11-midnight, now it's only on 11:30- Midnight. We will be very sad if they take it off the air. My son would like to know if there was ever any toys made from Gargoyles, he despertly would like all the characters.
Once upon a time, both Applause (pvc figures) and Kenner (action figures) made toys. (And a few other random licensees were out there too.)
To find them now, you'd have to check out something like e-bay OR bring you're son to the GATHERING where there are always toys available at the auction! The Gathering is VERY kid friendly. I know because I've taken my kids too. It's been nearly two years, so I'm guessing your son is now almost eight. Mine are 7 and almost 10. I hope both of you are still fans.
I am sure you have had this question before. I am planning a tattoo of Goliath...either full winged on my back or something smaller on my arm...where can I find good pics to use?
Actually, I haven't heard this question before. And I don't know the answer. Sorry.
Ive heard alot about the new Saga but i cant seem to find it, is it on air, only on once a week, where is it ? and what time ? plz help, ive been hunting but can't find any answers.
danke,
( barb018@hotmail.com )
Hopefully, sometime over the last two years you found it. Cuz, I don't know the link. If I'm guessing right about what you're referring to, The Gargoyles Saga is a fan driven fan-fiction continuation of the series. I have no involvement in it, and I haven't read any of it.
Though everyone said it before: Great to know that a DVD is coming out!!! I'm pretty sure it will move a lot.
But what I wanted to ask, how do you like the adult pictures and stories?
I don't read any fan fiction, adult or otherwise, to protect myself legally in case (as I hope) I have the opportunity to do Gargoyles again.
I do, frankly, enjoy adult pictures of canon characters. Some, anyway, if they're well-drawn, sexy and/or witty and if they're not TOO sick.
I cant find garfoyles toys anywhere! do you know a place on line where one might purchase them. And thank you. I saw gargoyles when it first aired, it always stuck with me and I always try to watch it on toon disney. I'm 16 now and I just always wanted to thank someone who had a hand in makig incredible show!
You're very welcome.
But I'm afraid I don't know where you can purchase any toys... except that the dealers at the annual GATHERING of the GARGOYLES generally have quite a few on sale.
So come to Montreal this summer. *By now you're 18, and an adult who can travel.*
For more information, check out
Random question - which is longer (page-length-wise), the Gargoyles Timeline or the Gargoyles Encyclopedia manuscript?
The Timeline, last updated 6/27/01, is currently 221 pages long (not counting all the handwritten margin notes done since then).
The Encyclopedia, last updated 9/16/98, is currently 350 pages long (not counting all the handwritten margin notes done since then).
I read your faq about the soundtrack so this is probably a worthless question, but do you know if there is anywhere to find or purchase Sheet music for Gargoyles music? I know they make music books for Disney movies and such and was hoping that perhaps there would be one for Gargoyles. Well I love the show and hope to see new episodes sometime. Thanks, Jacob
I'm pretty confident that nothing like that exists for sale.
It's a shame though.
Has Disney copyrighted the "Gargoyles" method of visually depicting a gargoyle? If so, what actions you advise a person who wished to imitate this visual style to take? And if not, what would your advice be then?
I'm not sure what you mean... but Disney owns the specific images presented in the series. Anything that you did (and tried to make money off of) that was extremely similar, would risk legal action from them. But they can't "copyright" winged creatures.
Hello Greg my name is Pete and I'v been trying to find a site to send some of my fan based art work to. So if you know please tell me. I'd tel you what I'v done but bon't want to masquerd anything I'm not sure if telling you what i'v done but there cool I thing so please let me now where I can put my gargoyles art work thank you for your time.
I have no idea. Sorry.
Umm, kinda a dumb question but... I was wondering if there were detailed blueprints or floorplans of Castle Wyvern.. I'm kinda peeked in the interest of making a modle of the castle and I'm really not at all pleased with the results of having to use my eyes and imagination to fill in the blanks of what's not seen on tv.. Is there anything available for Download.. I heard there was something like that around on a site a long time ago, but it appears to be long gone. Thanks
I don't know of any blueprints available for download. In fact, I don't recall any DETAILED blueprints existing. I have a vague memory of something akin to a general layout of the place, but I haven't seen it in years -- assuming I'm even remembering correctly.
Hi, I know this question was asked in forum but I don't know how long ago so maybe now it is available.
where can I get the soundtrack for Gargoyles?
Some of the music is available for free at:
http://s8.org/gargoyles/archives/audio/CarlJohnson/
But there's no soundtrack on the market.
Where can I find free downloads for Gargoyles episodes? And where can I find the compleate history of Goliath?
I give up. Where?
Where can I find an image of the praying gargoyle?
Thanks!
I give up. Where?
do you have any pictures of Demona and also picture of Eliza when she was a gargoyle that you could maybe able to send me.
My email address is helenschoenfelder@yahoo.com
Nope. Sorry.
hello my name is Pete or as my friends call whitewolf. the question i was going to ask is that i have seen all the gargoyles shows on toon diseny and have there's a lot of deleted sceens and that i own the moive and there's a lot taking out why is it that in the show on t.v. is the whoole thing and not bits and pices? Oh one more thing well gargoyles be out on dvd soon.
DVDs should be coming out this fall/winter.
Toon Disney makes edits based on their own Standards and Practices.
The video of the "movie version" of the pilot was edited down for our world premiere. Disney Home Video chose to use this edited piece rather than the full five-part pilot.
ARE YOU GOING TO MAKE NEW GARGOLES ACTION FIGURES FOR 2002?
ALSO ANY MEW MAGAZINES AND EPOSIDES THIS YEAR?
I have no control over any of this stuff. NOT UP TO ME!!
GREG WERE CAN I FIND PICTURES AT OF GAGOYLES??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try the Station 8 comment room.
I'm trying to find pictures, drawings,or paintings of gargoyles. That I might use for a tatto.
Good luck with that.
Greg,
My granddaughter loves the gargoyles and I am wanting to buy the figures...unable to locate any...where can I find them to buy?
I don't know. Did you try e-bay?
Do some toy companies still make Gargoyle toys? Reach me by E-mail. Spoiltdragon@aol.com
Not that I know of.
And AGAIN -- I don't send responses by e-mail to questions asked in this forum.
Do you Have the gargpyles movie (with the journeys and adventure until they are accepted by the people in NYC)out on video. email me at blangford@oasisonline.com
As I've stated many times, I do not respond directly to people's e-mail addresses. That could easily get out of control and would largely defeat the purpose of this forum.
To answer your question, here, is difficult, only because your question is fairly unclear.
The first season of Gargoyles was released on video years ago. Those videos can be difficult to find now, but they're out there. The second season and the Goliath Chronicles has never been released.
Disney Home Entertainment is planning to release the first season again on DVD in 2004. Subsequent releases will obviously depend on the success of this first DVD release.
Gargoyles Chronology
I was curious as to the fact if you had ever posted your Master Timeline online, or intended to in the near future?
I have not, and have no intention to do so.
Aside from the sheer size of the document (221 pages), I have some vague hopes of publishing it someday.
do you know were to get any good pics of gargoyles for tatoos?
Nope. Ask the fans.
How do you feel about the gargoyles seag genesis game?
(even thought it was released at a time that the genesis was considered worm mulch)
I've never played it.
I'm looking for models sheets for the Gargoyles, particulary Goliath, Elisa, Bronx and possibly Elisa's car. Could you tell me where I could find such things? or where I could find official pictures of the characters in front and side views? Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. thank you
I'm sorry, I don't have that information. You'd be better served asking the fans, I think.
I mean, obviously Disney has these model sheets, but I don't know if they'd send you a copy. You could always write to them and ask, I suppose. Worse that happens is that they say no.
hey greg I am going to answer meghan's question for you
they have gargoyles pictures in yahoo just put screenshots of gargoyles bronx or any other gargoyle IF if you have any more question's e-mail me at jorgequasada86@msn.com
because I KNOW where to find alot of gargoyle pictures
Thanks, Julio. Appreciate it.
Where can i find pictures of the Gargoyles?
I don't know, where?
Did the sega genisis video game meet your expectations?
I never saw it. And in any case, I don't play video games. Got mediocre hand-eye coordination, don't you know.
Hi Greg. I was just wondering if you could give us an update on the following:
1) The Touchstone Gargoyles movie.
2) The Gargoyles Encyclopedia you prepared (have you been adding anything to it? Have you been submitting it to publishers?)
3) Any projects you're currently working on.
Sorry if any of these are sore subjects to be bringing up. Thanks for any answers, though.
1. I think that's on hold. There was a management change at Touchstone, and it seems the new management is currently not pursuing the project. Not surprising after seven years of unsuccessful development and I don't know how many writers. But it is disappointing, considering the kinds of movies that dominate the box office, it seems like they're missing a bet.
2. The Encyclopedia is done, though it could stand another draft if I had the time, which I don't. I have no publisher to submit it to. For starters, I don't own Gargoyles. Secondly, I really don't have any connections in the world of publishing. Third, everytime I've talked to anyone (not fans, but publishing pros) about the project, I've gotten nary a nibble of interest. If any of you know anyone in publishing who might be interested, I'd love to get it published (with or without the timeline).
3. I've been working recently for Platinum Studios, developing their comic book universe. It's been fun. Last year I wrote one Mummy, which has aired and one Kim Possible, which hasn't aired yet. Oh and I worked briefly on the Bionicle Direct to Video "Mask of Light" that's coming out later this year. That's it for animation.
Hi Greg,
My grandson has been bugging me to purchase a "Goliath" figurine. (At LEAST 6" or 7" in height.) Do you know where one can be obtained?
Nope. Sorry.
I'd try e-bay or one of the dealer's tables at the GATHERING 2003. For more info, check out...
Do you know of any plans to realese Gargoyles episodes or seasons in box sets of DVDs? Y'know...limited editions...once there gone that's it and that's all. If not can you push Disneyfor that? Especially as a series creator...
I've had some preliminary talks with Disney about releasing a DVD. Last summer they said the first DVD would come out sometime in 2003. Other DVDs would only follow if the first one sold well. I had a brainstorming meeting with them in November (?). It was very exciting. They were talking about releasing the whole first season with a commentary track and an extra or two.
Since then, they've been on the quiet side. To be honest, I don't know what to make of that. Hopefully, we're still on track.
Before I get to the questions, I'd just like to say how much I enjoyed the show and how amazed I am to find that I'm not alone in wishing to see a return to that universe. Having said this...on with the questions!
First, is it possible to obtain recordings of some of the episodes, particularly "The Mirror"? On the subject of "The Mirror" I must say that I was somewhat disapointed that subplot (the sparks of romance) between Goliath and Elisa never reached the level of developement I was expecting (or did it?). I honestly thought Elisa made a very good gargoyle, and I always wondered if that might also have been addressed in some way. Thank you once again for everything!
1. The first season was released on video, though you'd probably have to haunt e-bay to find copies of those tapes. Otherwise, the only thing I can recommend at this point is to record the eps off Toon Disney.
2. Well, I think the subplot was advanced in episodes like "Sentinel" and "Hunter's Moon", among others. As for Elisa being a gargoyle, that was always temporary in my mind.
