So it was recently announced that Samurai Jack is getting new episodes after more than ten years. Does this signal a general interest on the part of CN in reviving shows that were popular with older viewers? Is there hope for Young Justice?
I think there's a lot of hope for YJ, but not on CN.
I could be wrong, however.

Why did Miss Martian show Garfield her true form?
When?
So, okay, here's one for you.
Most of the Light's plans make sense. They follow a consistent pattern: one or two surface ruses to draw attention, and one lower-level plan to advance Vandal Savage's philosophy that humans need to evolve and take their place on the cosmic stage. Even the entire season 1 plot seemed engineered to put Earth in the galactic crosshairs, so as to give humanity the chance to grow from overcoming the Reach. And THAT seemed engineered to make Earth interesting to Darkseid.
The one thing that I DON'T get, however, was one tiny little plan.
How on earth did the Light, humanity, or indeed ANYONE but Count Vertigo benefit from killing Queen Perdita?
If Savage's plans had been successful, Vertigo would become King. ... What good does that do Savage? Or the Light? How is that worth using four ice villains to freeze the planet?
So, basically, if it's not a spoiler to answer... Why would Vandal Savage get involved in that one?
This seems obvious to me. If Vertigo is king of and works for the light, then Vlatava, like Bialya, becomes a Light proxy. Why wouldn't Savage and the rest want complete control of another entire country?
Do atlanteans wear underwear?
Let's let them have their privacy, shall we?
Rewatched the beginnings of Young Justice season one and I had a question about Denial.
Given how much time travel factored into the second season's overarching story, was there ever any point where Abra Kadabra was significant in some fashion? Considering how important the future became, it is a little odd that Abra Kadabra has futuristic technology so casually.
No one in Season One knew that Abra actually CAME from the future. Except Abra, of course.
Greetings Greg, what are the origins of Psimon's psychic powers? As well as his awesomely bizarre appearance what with his transparent skull and creepy visage? I'm honestly curious as to whether he's Metahuman, an experiment gone wrong, alien, or supernatural in nature etc
Thanks for your time :D
No spoilers.
Hey, Greg.
I'm sure that you've heard of the new JLA show that was confirmed recently by Cartoon Network Canada for next year. My questions are:
1. How crash would you be if they asked you to work on the show (like as an adviser)?
2. How crash would you be if they decided to set it on Earth-16?
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.
1. Eh. I always like getting paid. But I'm invested in the YJ version of the DCU. I'm not unwilling to explore another continuity. Could be fun. But I'm not dying for it.
2. It wouldn't. Brandon and I would like to maintain control of Earth-16.
Hello,
I absolutely love Young Justice! !! But I was curious if Artemis is supposed to look asian? Because both Jade and Artemis look American to me.
I don't know what "look American" means. Did you mean "caucasian"?
In any case, Jade and Artemis are both the daughters of a caucasian father and a Caucasian/Vietnamese mix mother.
Hello Greg.
I don't know if you'll ever get around to reading this but i just want you to know that i highly respect your work in animation. Young Justice was amazing and got me through some tough weeks at high school. whenever i was down in the dumps i'd just smash on a episode of the old YJ and it would give me a nice "Homey" feeling. i especially enjoyed the Wally/Artemis spitfire.
I think i type in "Young Justice" into google once a day to see if any news has come up about it, and i try as much as i can to help the show out. buying DVD and following on Facebook etc.
Do you think that WB studios or Cartoon Network studios even mention young justice anymore in their meetings, as to bring it back for season 3. or do you think it's in the past and they are not interested anymore.
it was an amazing 2 years with the show and i try and watch both season at least once a year. thank you very much for the show.
yours sincerely, a humble fan.
I think there's a decent chance of the show coming back. Not a guarantee, mind you, but a solid decent chance. I don't say that lightly either.
Hey Greg. First off, thanks for answering my Oberon and Dr. Fate question (And for using a superhero analogy, to).
I just had a few questions regarding magic in Young Justice (Sorry for any spoiler-questions):
1. Do supernatural creatures (Like vampires)exist, or is what we see what we get in regards to magical beings?
2. Do you regard Young Justice's magic as following the same "rules" as Gargoyles's, or did you right it differently?
3. Is magic known to the public or government, or is its knowledge restricted to practitioners and associates?
Thanks again!
1. What you see is what you get until or unless you see something more. Which is a fancy way of saying: NO SPOILERS.
2. More or less.
3. Everyone knows about magic. Whether they believe is another story.
As of Revelations was Rocket attending high school in Dakota City?
Yes.
1. Does the Green Lantern Corps know about the existence of New Genesisians and Apokoliptans?
2. Do the Guardians of the Universe?
1. Yes.
2. Yes.
Out of universe, why was Paul Sloane chosen for the role of Conner in Hello Megan?
No Spoilers.
1. On Earth 16 is Guy Gardner Irish?
2. Were his parents Irish immigrants?
I haven't studied this.
1. As of Young Justice issue #10 who is the owner of the Daily Planet?
2. As of Young Justice issue #10 is Perry White the editor of the Daily Planet?
1. No Spoilers.
2. Yes.
Has Orin ever had sex with anyone besides Mera?
Why would I answer that?
Miss Martian posed as Marvin the Martian to scare Marvin in Secrets.
1. Does the Looney Tunes show exist on Earth 16?
2. If so, is it the original or 2011 version?
1. Of course.
2. Why not both?
Mister Weisman , I am a boy of 15 years of Argentina, from now excuse me if my English is very low expectation,I wanted to tell you about your tv series called "Young Justice",You and your team did a wonderful job, i love dc universe and everything that includes superheroes but you changed my life, I was a rebellious boy to my task not spend much time in the streets, when I saw the TV series left shocked after I saw his first season change radically thanks to you now consider myself a better person. Thank you so much for doing that, but now I am really sad because the third season of Young Justice will not occur and the truth that can make a lot of money had a very open-ended and all your fans, fans of the series want to Somehow or another they finish making the third season and more seasons if you can, if not enough money to do the show through the internet that much encerio love that series, cried with the death of Wally, cry with death sagebrush and I blame you for that because there was dead lol, I appreciate you have made this series and brother want puedieras continue to produce more this season, and if not well at least answer me. I admire command you health and peace for you and the whole team of "Young Justice"
Hi Nehuen,
I'm very gratified that the series meant so much to you. And, if it helps, I think there is a decent chance of getting the series back. We're asking all the fans to binge-watch YOUNG JUSTICE on Netflix. I don't know if you have Netflix in Argentina or if YJ is on it, if you do. But if so, please watch the show over and over. It will really help us get it back.
1. Out of universe was anyone else considered for the position of the enforcer for the Light besides Deathstroke?
2. If so, who?
3. At what point did you know that you wanted to use Deathstroke as the enforcer for the Light in Season 2?
1. You mean besides Sportsmaster? No.
2. See above.
3. 2010, I think.
There is a poster of Aqualad in Gar's room during Image.
1. Since Rocket had debuted in May, was Gar aware that there was a public figure called Rocket before Image?
2. Out of the public figures, Robin, Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Rocket, was Aqualad Gar's favorite before Image?
1. I don't know.
2. It seems so. But honestly, I don't even remember the Aqualad poster. I can't confirm it's existence.
Greg,
I noticed while watching Young Justice that Roy shoots his bow right-handed but keeps his armguard on his right arm, as if to shoot left-handed. I had originally meant to ask you why that was, but I think I have figured it out: is it because he is skilled enough to not need an armguard for shooting right-handed but has one on his right arm in case circumstances force him to change hands? This presumes that he has less practice overall shooting left-handed, or at least feels less comfortable in his ability to do so safely.
I like your reasoning!
Hello, Mr. Weisman. Hope this post finds you happy and well. I love and admire all your work (Gargoyles was a huge part of my childhood and still inspires me to this day).
My question is related to Young Justice:
Would you or have you ever considered doing episode rambles on Young Justice one day?
Thank you for your time (:
It's been brought up before. But I don't seem to have the time these days. But someday, maybe...
Hey Greg,
I was a huge fan of Young Justice when it was on air, and would even manage to wake up for it on Saturdays (Specifically for season 2) despite being a college student who loved to sleep in.
I especially loved Wally's character, and felt that he was the best character (With Robin/Nightwing being not too far behind with his constant prefix questioning)
My question is, which do you think caused the most people to react to Wally's sacrifice at the end of Season 2? The attachment to this specific Wally that you guys built up over two seasons, the fact that your Wally was the only remaining Wally in media at the time (As it would be a while before he was added back into comics), or the end of the show meaning that we might not know if he could ever return.
And heck, I'll add in another question. What was the inspiration for Dick's obsession with prefixes, and why he chose to use the non-prefixed words? Specifically Whelmed because that was always my favorite.
1. I can't speak for the fans. It sounds like all three of your suggestions played a role.
2. As I've stated many times before, Robin's "unwords" were inspired by actual conversations I had with my kids.
This might be a totally silly thing to ask, but it occurred to me today and has been bothering me...
If Nabu refuses to let Zatara remove the helmet of fate because he's afraid that neither Zatara nor anyone else would put it back on again, then how in the world does Zatara eat? There's no way to access his mouth with that helmet on 24/7. Does the host of Nabu no longer need to eat? And I'm not trying to be facetious, I'm 100% serious with this question. Like, in season two, Zatara has been Doctor Fate for over five years. Surely he's eaten something in that time? Or is his body sustained through magical means? Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions!
Is Zatara still Doctor Fate in Season Two? What's your evidence for this?
In any case, I'm sure magic is useful for eating, bathing, etc.
Out of universe explanation for
1. Why was Hal used as one of the original seven members of the Justice League instead of John?
2. Why was Ray Palmer used as the Atom instead of Ryan Choi?
Beth Chapel is a skilled surgeon.
3. Why was Pieter Cross used instead of Beth Chapel?
1. Because, not counting Alan Scott, he was the first Green Lantern.
2. Because, not counting Al Pratt, he was the first Atom.
3. I honestly don't remember.
Does John Stewart have a mentor within the Green Lantern Corps?
Probably more than one.
1. Does Dr. Mattie Harcourt live in Boston?
2. What type of medical doctor is she?
1. Yes.
2. I'm guessing thorasic surgeon, but I'd have to do research to confirm that.
In Young Justice #14 Wyynde wears a golden diadem. A diadem is a crown worn by a king or queen as a symbol of royalty.
1. Is Wyynde royalty?
2. What Polis is he from?
Sorry, but no spoilers.
1. Did Carlo and his brother join Haley's Circus before the deaths of the Flying Graysons?
2. Did Dragon's Breath?
I haven't thought about the answer to either. I'm tempted to say, "no spoilers," but the truth is I just haven't needed to decide that yet.
1. What is Melisande's ethnicity?
2. Sensei?
3. Dragon King?
4. Black Adam?
5. Rako?
1. No spoilers.
2. Japanese.
3. No spoilers.
4. Egyptian.
5. Cambodian.
In Misplaced Cat Grant mentions Sabbac.
Is Sabbac Timothy Karnes or Ishmael Gregor?
No Spoilers.
Hi Greg!
About the League's leadership:
1) When Canary becomes leader, was it because Captain Atom's lenght was over or because he stepped down?
2) Can a member be leader two years in a row if he is elected?
3) In Legacy, Batman was acting as Team supervisor (or liason with the League), which is a duty of the League's leader. Almost at the end, he says "I've sent the League out to help quell the panic". So during early 2015, was he the leader?
4) If so, when did Batman's lenght as leader (during 2015) start and finish? And during 2010?
5) After Aqualad leaves, the task of recruiting new members falls into Nightwing. Does that mean he always recruits the freshmen or, like in season 1, the mentors bring them into the Cave?
Thanks
1. The former. In my head, I had a vague notion that it had been up for some weeks, but Cap stayed on to finish out the Reach crisis. But that's just a notion.
2. Yes.
3. Team liaison is not by definition a duty of the League leader. The leader can delegate that to someone else if he or she choses. But, it does seem that he's the leader from that quotation. On the other hand, he may simply have had monitor duty and was being a bit loose (and paternalistic) in his word choice.
4. It's a one-year term. I'm not going to be any more specific than that, at this time.
5. A little from column A; a little from column B.
Hi Greg. Why does Wonder Woman take Batman to task in "Agendas" for training Robin to fight crime at the age of 9 when she was trained to be a warrior when she was a child? Don't Amazonians start training young?
Sure. But training and going into action are two different things.
Hi Greg!
About Zatanna's Glamour Charm:
1) Is the Glamour Charm an ancient magical object or just a gem Zatanna made a spell on?
2) If so, in "Depths", when Wally asks, Dick says something like "Glamour Charm, Courtesy of Zatanna. Physio-morphic spell, I think. She said it backwards." So is it safe to say that Nightwing was there when Zatanna performed the spell?
3) Do all Glamour Charm look the same? I ask this one because Ra's recognized it in Summit
4) Is it too hard to make a Glamour Charm? Could Zee have done it back in season 1?
5) Has Zatanna worked with Doctor Fate after she joined the League?
1. I'd lean toward the latter.
2. Yes.
3. They all have something in common, certainly.
4. Probably not.
5. No spoilers.
Hi Greg, I've been reading the archives and I have a question about Aquaman:
1) Here (http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?qid=18518), you said Aquaman and Black Manta have been fighting for at least 16 years, but 16 years before season 1, Aquaman was 13. So have they been fighting since they are kids or it's just a continuity error?
Well, Manta was in his early twenties. Orin was a kid. But I think my point was that Manta has been at odds with Atlantis that long.
Hey Greg
1) What year was Dan Garrett and how old was he when he died?
2) This will probably be answered with a SPOILER REQUEST NO COMMENT, but I'll ask anyway. Is the original Black Canary alive? If no, can you tell me how did she died? I mean, natural causes, a disease, death by supervillain?
3) How do superheroes who don't wear mask conceal their identities? In some versions, John Stewart and Guy Gardner are public heroes and Black Canary wears a wig.
4) Black Lightning and Plastic Man wear goggles, do those work as masks?
5) Where do the Hawks live? The Watchtower, maybe?
Thank you for your time
1. Dan Garrett was born in 1915 (which I assume is what you were asking).
1a. He died in 2005. I'll let you do the math.
2. NO SPOILERS.
3. I think in a universe where Clark Kent disguises his face with eyeglasses, it takes very little to keep your identity secret from strangers.
4. I think i n a universe where Clark Kent disguises his face with eyeglasses, goggles work just fine.
5. NO SPOILERS.
5a. No.
Greg,
Why did y'all decide to make Artemis be a good guy as opposed to being a villain as she is in the comics?
Thanks!
Simply put, we liked the dynamic of a child of villains trying to forge her own way, but lying about it.
Here's a short primer on how fans can help to bring Young Justice back for a third season:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UwoI2gSj1Sk
Greg, I would like to inform you that I have been making several recommendations to Netflix to bring the show back through them. I do not know how much it will help but I feel like it is at least worth a shot.
Thank you for creating such a great show!
Thank you for being a fan.
Those requests do help, I believe. But binge-watching Seasons One and Two of Young Justice on Netflix helps even more.
Do you think the newer live action movies based off of the DC comics will have any impact on the chances of Young Justice returning? Could it possibly make some new fans interested?
Anything's possible. But the best ways to get a third season of Young Justice are:
1. #KeepBingingYJ on Netflix
2. Purchase and binge the episodes from iTunes or other LEGIT sources
3. #BuyYJBluRaysDVDs
4. #BuyYJComicsonComixology or iTunes
When was Match created? How long was the gap between him and Superboy?
The year before Superboy was cloned.
How many miles a person have to be away where superman and superboy cannot hear with their super hearing in the earth 16 universe?
I dunno. Whatever seems reasonable in terms of sound waves not being interrupted by intervening stuff and/or spreading out so thin that sense cannot be made of the sound. It's a question for a physicist, not me.
i looked at genomorphs and after seeing M'gann true form I just have this on my mind.
1: Are genomorph made with White Martian DNA? Because they look a lot like M'gann.
2: Is Superboy a genomorph since he was created in Cadmus?
1. Not to me.
2. Yes.
I am a big fan of Young Justice and the Young justice comics related to the show. I was among the fans thats was crushed when it was cancled and even though its unlikely i still hope for more seasons. Anyway, on to the questions:
1.) in the comics i have noticed Artemis has blue eyes but in the show she has brown eyes. I was wondering if there is a reason.
2.) did Artemis character come off of DC Mia Dearden the 2nd speedy?
They both have the same arrow mark on their chest.
1. Production inconsistencies.
2. No. She came off Artemis, the daughter of Sportsmaster and the Huntress. As for her costume, it's an amalgam of different characters, but the biggest influences were probably Arrowette and Green Arrow himself.
Hello,
why does the Brain sound so stupid? I'm a native french-speaker and I would never do something as ridiculous as suddenly adding words in french when I speak english! (well, maybe once, as a joke, but doing it all the time makes no sense at all). I love your show but this I really don't understand.
Have a great day! :)
He's unhappy speaking English at all.
Hi Greg.
I just rewatched Alienated and I googled Malina Island to see it was real. The only thing I found was a privately owned island in New York called Rat Island, whose owner is considerating renaming Malina Island.
1) Did you know about this?
2) If yes, did you predict that the island named was going to be changed by 2016 (Season 2 "year")?
3) Did Tornado moved out of the Cave after Legacy?
4) Did Black Canary stopped training the Team after Legacy?
5) Thank you for your time
1. Nope.
2. Nope.
3. He moved out. When would be a Spoiler.
4. No.
5. You're welcome.
1. Does the League's style of operations change much depending on who's leading? Or is there a fairly set bunch of rules and the leader simply acts as an coordinator?
2. Are there some Leaguers who don't put themselves up for leadership positions? For example, I can't imagine Captain Marvel gets considered because of his age, and the Green Lanterns might be too busy.
1. There are actually very few "rules". And certainly, each leader has his or her own style. But in the end, nothing changes too much, because the goals are pretty straightforward.
2. There's a request for those who feel up to the job to submit their own names. Then there's a vote.
Mr. Weisman,
Have you read the DC Comics event "Convergence" yet? The final issue (#8) indirectly suggests that the "Young Justice" animated TV series, which is your version of the Earth-16 universe, can now come back and now your stories set in that universe can still continue...
I never read it.
