I just wrapped up Spirits of Ash and Foam. I thought the first book was decent, but the second one was fantastic. By the end of the book, I felt as into the book as I did when I thought Goliath had just let Elisa fall to her death. It was a slow build, but well worth it.

I've been a fan of yours since Spectacular Spider-Man, then to YJ, and then to watch Rebels. (And the fact that hearing you were working on Rebels got me to watch the Star Wars movies again and TCW series which led to me becoming a major Star Wars fan means I have something else to thank you for!) After watching the Rebels finale, I have a few questions.

1) Now, Rebels was destined to be different from TCW; different eras in the Star Wars universe, the Ghost crew debuting in Rebels versus TCW having a few main characters like Padme Amidala from the movies. However, is there anything in particular that you directly influenced?

2) What research did you do for your job on Rebels? Like DC and Marvel comics, there's obviously a lot of material on Star Wars out there that can be drawn from, but there's also a much more official level of 'this is canon' versus 'this isn't' due to the movies and the Disney reboot, so I'm curious if you chose to draw from the Legends continuity at all.

3) Maketh Tua- she seems really into the Empire, willing to do under the table things for it, and makes a casual reference to the Lasat genocide. Yet she seems extremely horrified when the Inquisitor executes Aresko and Grint, and appears to be the most shocked of them all. Is that the first time she witnessed the violence of the Empire versus just hearing about it?

4) And the most controversial question of all: what was your opinion on the Star Wars prequels?

Thank you for answering! I can't wait to read the first issue of the Kanan comic; he's become one of my favorite characters fairly quickly, and I doubt that feeling will lessen any time soon!

I've searched through your archives about W.I.T.C.H related questions, initially I wanted to ask you about a timeline related question that seems to be a continuity error but I've seen you don't have a timeline for W.I.T.C.H and don't remember a whole lot of it. But in searching the archives I have thought up another question. You claim credit for the "X is for Xword" format of the Episode Titles. This was sometimes worked very well, sometimes forced but always fun and a great way of remembering what happened in each episode. My question is, had a third season been made and you were involved, would you have continued this trend or replaced it with something similar, and if so, what would it be?

I recall that you, once upon a time, collected Legion of Superheroes (LOSH) comic books and that you used to be a fan of the property. So, considering that you did work (Young Justice) in the same universe as the LOSH property, my question is this: do you, in your professional opinion, think that someone could effectively do a LOSH show that carried on indefinitely? (I know that there used to be such a show, but it was cancelled fairly early on and, ever since then, there has been much vitriol spewed out against the property. Even now, the critics are whining about how a LOSH movie, in the current DC comics cinematic universe could never work.) If you were ever given the chance, do you think that you would be willing to write for and/or spearhead such a show?

Given your experiences in animated media, do you think that animated shows have it harder (in terms of having to prove themselves as viable for gaining additional seasons) than live-action shows? I ask because it seems to me that you have, alongside collaborators, spearheaded numerous projects (such as WITCH, Spec Spidey, Young Justice) that have, critically and in terms of viewership, been very successful (I can't speak for Spec Spidey or WITCH, but I know that Young Justice consistently maintained numbers that even some live-action shows do not get or maintain), yet they have all been cancelled for various reasons. Meanwhile, there is no shortage of live-action shows that have been looked upon with far less critical or viewer approval and have been renewed for more than three seasons (of 16 to 21 episodes). If your answer is 'yes,' do you think that one reason for this increased difficulty on the part of animated shows is that most of them are forced into, in addition to maintaining constant viewer numbers, maintaining a toy line?

If I heard correctly, I understand that when you and your collaborators first broke the story for Young Justice, you had a "two-year" plan for the series, though you also had plans for as many as five seasons, in total. Considering that, I have two questions. First, did you ever expect to get a pickup for season 3? It seems to me that, if not, you went through an awful amount of trouble (I.e. Purposefully and masterfully introducing elements evocative of an eventual Apokolips storyline, among other things) to tease storylines that you were fairly certain would never be explored on the show. Of course, given your propensity for thorough world building, I could definitely see how you would make such a creative choice. Second, if you had gotten a season three pickup, would you have liked to continue the concurrent comic line (there were definitely more stories that could've been told in comic format, including what went on during the five year gap, how Ocean Master became disgraced, the Marvel family story that you had planned, etc.)?

And that leads me to ask the question of how, exactly, did you go about mounting that type of beautifully complex operation? Did you start by breaking a general story for where you wanted the series to go and which characters you wanted to take it there? Hello! I know that you're going to be working on the upcoming Kanan comic series and I can't wait for it! We all know Kanan as this sort of space cowboy who offers up plenty of quips to his foes as well as the guy who's in the lead and who knows what he's doing most of the time, so I'd like to ask:

Did you find it challenging to go backward in Kanan's timeline and explore his Padawan years after seeing what all he's done and how he's acted in Rebels, or was it relatively easy to work backwards from who Kanan is now to who he was in that period of time?

1) When you first thought about Artemis and Wally's relationship, did you always knew they were in for the long run? I think what I'm actualy trying to ask is if you developed their relationship beliving they were meant for each other, and if they would be still together after season 2 if Wally hadn't died.

2)My second question is about Nightwing-Dick. In the comics specially, it's clear that he has a hsitory with several girls (Including Zatanna, who by the way I love how you portraited) but none as strong and deep as the one he has with Barbara. We know he's a "dog" and not quite ready for her, but do you believe that he (I mean the Dick you developed) would ever be?

1. When Puck went about creating his persona for Owen, how smart did he want Owen to be? Now Owen strikes me as the kind of guy who'd be very intelligent. I would be willing to hazard that he's almost as smart as his own boss. Was Puck just going by his observation of Preston Vogul when he set up Owen's intelligence?

I understand if this sounds muddled, but I'm not necessarily asking if Puck literally made himself smarter or dumber through magic. I'd assume that everything Puck knows, Owen also knows and vice versa. My question is how did Puck decide on Owen's intelligence?

2. Now I'm asking if Puck literally can make himself smarter or dumber through magic. We see Fae change their forms, so can they change their mentality to the same degree and just "give" themselves more knowledge? I mean, could Puck make himself a "super genius" if wanted or did he have to educate himself a little as Owen?

3. Why didn't Xanatos take Puck's original offer? I mean he was offering Xanatos a chance at immortally and he instead he chose Owen's service. Now I consider two reason.

The first is kinda obviously. Xanatos wouldn't trust Puck since he's a "trickster" and he would suspect some horrible twist to Puck's wish. On the other hand, Xanatos was willing to get Coyote, another trickster, to do the same thing. But then again, Xanatos had captured Coyote so maybe he thought he had better leverage.

I wouldn't have put it past Puck to have some kind of trick in mind if he gave Xanatos immortally. Of course maybe the real trick was in fact that Puck would have been true to his word and granted Xanatos immortally, no strings attached. Meaning Xanatos had in fact blown he's one perfect chance to be immortal. But that's just a theory

The second reason I have, is also part of my question. Does Xanatos consider Owen's service to be invaluable?

4. When did Xanatos become aware of the existence of magic and the supernatural? Was when he first met Demona or when he met Puck? Was he sceptical of it at first?

5. Puck once said that he could make Goliath love Demona again. "Piece of cake" as he said. So could he have actually made Goliath fall in love with Demona or would it just be a spell more akin to the one Demona used to put Goliath under mind control?

Hey, long time Gargoyles fans and I got a bit of an odd question, and I don't think it's been asked before (at least from my searches).

Since in the gargoyles world fairies, god/goddess, and other mythical creatures exist a thought strikes me...do Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy actually exist in the Gargoyles world or at least some kind of version of them?

I know it's a bit of a silly question, but they do come from old stories just like all other mythological beings do. So, I couldn't help, but wonder.

I loved your work on Young Justice. The show really shows the hard work and time you and the rest of the creative team put into it. I really loved the character design, plots, and how your were able to take the characters of such a huge and overwhelmingly popular univers and depict them in your own ways, but still stick to their origins. A character that I love in pretty much every adaptation he had a appeared in is Wally West and that includes the way you have made his character out to be in this series. I don't know if you have previously answered this or not but my question involves just this character.

What exactly inspired you to go in the direction you did with Wally West/Kid Flash? And why? (As far as his utterly tragic yet brilliant send off in the episode "endgame"). Which by the way I thought was excellent. There's no better way to send off and honor such an amazing hero in this kind of show. My question is manly out of curiosity and wonderment, because I'm sure there were many ideas contemplated with the role and direction this character and many others that you all had in mind. I don't know if it really fits in the regulations given and can be answered, if not I'm sorry. Once again, thank you all for the effort you put in to the show and giving us such a great piece of art and entertainment. Every episode was outstanding.

It's interesting that you went with Sergeant Marvel for Mary instead of Mary Marvel, and likewise with Lieutenant Marvel for Captain Marvel Jr. In Mary's case, was this change made to protect her secret identity? I know that Artemis had no qualms with going by her own name, but with Mary we're talking about a kid who's six years younger than Artemis... So maybe it was thought best to go the extra mile not to announce her name to villains, especially since she wouldn't have been wearing a mask (if the Young Justice Mary takes after Earth-16 Captain Marvel and/or her comic book counterpart in not wearing a mask)?

I recently got Spirits of Ash and Foam and ALL of the Gargoyles DVDs. All of it was perfection. Thank you for being awesome.

While combing through the archives, I discovered the names of some of the gargoyles of the Avalon Clan: Archangel, Azrael, Michael, Raphael, and Uriel. What I could not find was a reference as to what name went with which gargoyle. So my question is this: are any of the names assigned to a particular garg from Avalon? Or were these just names chosen without a face?

Well it's been nearly a year (I think more) since YJ stopped airing. I recently just re-watched the entire series except for the last two episodes mainly because I really despise the feeling that after those two it'll be over again and all that there is to do is watch from the beginning.

In fact can you just define the whole Team's friendship/relationships to each other. Especially Rocket I wanted more airtime for her and see her with the Team.

Not a question, so I apologize.

I recently purchased Gargoyles Season 2 Volume 2 from Amazon and all I can say is "thank you" to your former crew and cast for these episodes...for this series.

My family contains many different races; most predominant are Piscataway Native American and African American. To see my family…to see ME represented in animation was more than just enjoyable. It felt like a statement that we mattered…that we were worth watching as fictional characters…that we were more than just a series of catch phrases and racial quotas.

And as for the Gargoyles themselves…well…my parents and grandparents would tell me stories of their lives pre-civil rights movement and it was horrifying to hear that just because they may have been good people, did not mean others would still not vilify and dehumanize them. And, although you exhibited racial injustice in your program, you did not take the easy way out and show that all the characters were unaffected by this. You displayed that some characters harbored deep resentment, others carried life-long suspicion and the rest, had an ever-present optimism.

I watched the series on their original airdates as a tween and honestly thought it would lose some emotional impact as a thirty-something, but it definitely has not. So, again, thank you. Some may dismiss your work as just another silly cartoon, but you are showing kids across the country that just because someone does not look like you, does not mean that he or she does not have the same dreams, aspirations and desires for love like you.
