Hello Greg! Thanks so much for the great show! It's currently my favorite on tv and solely responsible for getting me back into comics again so DC should give you guys a cut of all those DC comics I buy now. Homefront has been my favorite episode but loved Schooled (for rewatchability) and all the rest too. Anyway a few questions!

1. I think the motorcycle Zatanna rode in Secrets (that was consequently blown up)was Robin's. A. Can you confirm this? B. Did she ask permission? C. Does Robin know it's fate? D. Will this be addressed in the comic or mentioned later? (I thought it would be mentioned in Misplaced, that's why I waited before asking this.)

2.A. Do you guys have any plans to attend New York Comic Con this year? B. If so, will there be a Young Justice panel? (I want to go to one and live on the East Coast so entirely selfish!)

3.A. Do you have any say or input on the type of merchandise that gets put out? B. If we fans have requests or suggestions is there someone/somewhere you can point us? (I want something other than Action figures. A mug, keychains, or a magnet set would be nice...heck! Even t-shirts!)

4. Are Superman and Batman best friends in this universe? (Sorry if this one is already answered, I did go to the archives but only got so far!)

That's all I can think of while I got you! Thanks for your time and great show~! I totally love Robin, Wally, and their bromance and look forward to more with them along with the rest of this great cast I fall more and more in love with! Billy! Zatanna! NUUU!

Oh, also wanted to mention I'd totally throw my excitement behind any podcast, youtube vids, or commentary you happened to do for the episodes!

Thanks again!
Summer

Greg responds...

1a. I honestly don't remember.

1b. I'd think she'd ask permission, but she is a bit mischievous.

1c. You're assuming it's his bike. I'm not confirming that.

1d. No, I have no plans to address this. Our guys live dangerous lives and do dangerous work. Batman supplies the bikes. I'm sure he knows that a little property damage is part of the gig. A bike is replaceable. Lives are not.

2a. Not that I know of. If that changes, I'll announce it here.

2b. Don't know.

3a. Say? No. Input? Yes.

3b. I wouldn't even know whom to point you to. Maybe Warner Bros. Consumer Products?

4. They're good friends. I don't know about best friends.

Hi Greg, just watched "Misplaced." I thought it was a great episode!

1. Why were the faces of The Light not "lighted-out" at the end of the episode, the way they were in their first appearances?
2. Was Sportsmaster's getaway driver the Riddler?
3. Do the five evil wizards featured in "Misplaced" all have different specialties and, if so, what are they?
4. It seemed like Zatara was unaware that Billy Batson was Captain Marvel. Is this true, and if so, did anyone else on the League know about Captain Marvel's secret identity prior to the events of this episode?
5. The Team didn't send out a signal asking other under-18 heroes to join them. Are they aware of other young heroes, specifically Rocket? Is the Justice League? (Seems like if the Justice League knows Icon, they probably know of Rocket)

Anyway, thanks so much for a great and for taking time to answer fans questions.

Greg responds...

1. They were communicating with people who already knew their identities.

2. No, but Riddler's getaway driver was Sportsmaster.

3. I'm sure to some degree they do, but I haven't worked them all out. But Blackbriar Thorn is a druid. Felix Faust is an alchemist. Wotan is an immortal Viking sorcerer (at least in his latest incarnation. Klarion is a Lord of Chaos. Wizard is a wizard.

4. Only Batman.

5. I'd guess they were aware of Rocket's existence. But Rocket and the Atlantean heroes were also busy. They were on their own. (The rest you probably know by now.)

Hi Greg, thanks for taking the time to answer questions! :-)

In your gargs timeline, who dies first, Goliath or Elisa? And are they still a couple until then? Lastly, will you give a clue about what you had in mind for their deaths?

(Sounds macabre, but I was curious... ;-P)

Thanks!

2. Paula's currently on disability. Crusher's day job is as enforcer for the Light.

Young Justice Season One Finale

Well, if I haven't disgruntled every one of my fans yet, I'd hope you'd all want to tune in to the Season One finale of YOUNG JUSTICE on Saturday, April 21st (with a repeat Sunday, April 22nd) on Cartoon Network, inside the DC NATION block. (Check local listings for times.)

This is a big one. Lots gets answered. Tons of action. Humor. Romance. Edge of your seat stuff with the Team, the League and the LIGHT!! Plus a chilling event that will launch us into next week's world premiere of Season Two, a.k.a. YOUNG JUSTICE: INVASION!

And while you're at it, pick up the latest issue of our companion, in-continuity YOUNG JUSTICE comic book, available at comic book stores and on-line. It's Aqualad, Superboy, Miss Martian and all your favorite Atlanteans vs. Ocean-Master and the Purists!

Disgruntled

TODAY, a disgruntled fan posted at the Station 8 Comment room: http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/comment/index.php.

Here's the post in full, and my response will be below it:

I posted this message on AskGreg but it was censored. I guess only sucking-up messages are allowed. Here it is:

Dear Greg Weisman,

I would just like to express my deepest outrage for what happened today (April 17). I'm talking about, off course, the new 5-questions-per-post limit you've pulled out of thin air with complete disregard for your most loyal followers. Yes, I realize AskGreg is not a right, but a privilege, like Greg Bishansky so well put it on the comments room (though he goes out of his way to kiss your ass on every turn), but WE are fans. YOURS, no less.

Basically, up until today the rule regarding the quantity of questions per post one could ask was TEN (http://www.s8.org/gargoyles/askgreg/search.php?rid=925). Changing it after one month worth of answers seems like foul play. And this new limit comes off as a rather draconian and disproportionate edict, because there's no direct correlation between the number of questions and the required time to answer them. Say there is a post with 30 yes-or-no questions and another with only one that demands a more in-depth response. The former doesn't comply with the 5-questions limit, whilst the latter does. However, would the former really take up the same time to answer as the latter? How do reviews and rambles (that sometimes only prompt a three or five worded answer from you) get precluded from this? Don't they consume more of your time than answering 10, or even 20 short questions?

Also, it seems that forcing posters to spread their questions won't solve the problem, but only add to it, because instead of making one big post with 30 questions, they will make six. This will simply increase the influx of posts.

While I believe this to be illogical, logistically speaking, I understand it may seem like a good solution in theory (though I think I've just disproved it) and you feel the need to try something out. But what's really unfair is to enforce this rule as a blanket for all the approved 10-questions-posts that predate it. Those actually complied with your initially established 10 questions limit. How is this fair or even rational? Some posters ask stupid, shallow questions, but others actually take their time to think and write insightful queries, and, not unlike essays, those take time, and throwing them with such careless disregard is very disrespectful. Particularly so when those conformed to the policy, have been stewing for ONE MONTH and now have to be distributed into different posts and take the back seat at the end of a two months' waiting (or longer) queue. Wouldn't it be more logical to close the queue as you've done before so that you can clear it?

I do realize that this very post can be axed under the auspices of some new made up rule to cut down the number of questions, even after and if it gets approved. In case this does get through, I'm sure you won't see it until the next couple of months, and when you do, I'm sure you'll write some well composed answer making me come off as an ungrateful and obnoxious douche, and you'll have the last word, because I won't have a chance for a timely reply. But I felt like I needed to share my disenchantment for what seems to be a gross disrespect of your FANS. You know, the people who watch your shows, buy your merchandise and keep you on a payroll.

Sincerely,
Disgruntled
A disgruntled (former) fan.
posted @ Fri, Apr 20, 2012 12:46:02 pm EDT

MY RESPONSE:

Dear disgruntled (former) fan,

I agree with some of what you've written. Among other things, this post should NOT have been deleted by the moderators. And I'll make sure they know it. Comments, positive or negative, are fair game here. Always were and always will be.

And it's true, of course, that sometimes a post with many questions can be answered more quickly than a post with a single in-depth question, but I have NEVER wanted the moderators to judge or try to guess in advance the length of my response to anything, let alone gauge the time it takes me. Setting a question limit seems like a reasonable way to make things manageable.

I also, as I've stated before, see the unfairness in me reducing the limit from ten to five without warning and applying the rule retroactively to posts that contained 6-10 questions. As I've admitted, I screwed up there. I thought I had said five in the past, and instructed the moderators to erase all posts with more than five. By the time it was pointed out to me that I had said ten in the past, it was too late to recover those questions. TOO LATE. We don't keep a record of disallowed questions, so that's it. I screwed up and admitted it, but it's done. So from here on out, the max is five. And some posts were lost unfairly. And that does suck. And I do sincerely sympathize with your frustrations and disgruntlement, up to a point.

But here's that point: you don't seem to get or acknowledge (or perhaps care) that I'm currently on the verge of shutting down the site entirely. ENTIRELY. You don't have to praise me, my work or Ask Greg, but I'm trying to take measures to make me want to keep doing this AT ALL. Some of these measures, are indeed, as you've noted, 'draconian', forcing you to - horrors - repost your questions and wait even longer for the answers you do seem to feel entitled to. But again, the alternative is you NEVER get your answers. EVER. Now if this response, makes you "come off as an ungrateful and obnoxious douche" - well, I don't know how else you would expect me to respond. But this doesn't have to be the "last word". Normally, I only occasionally stop by the S8 comment room, but I promise for the next week or so, I'll stop by there every weekday and at least once on the weekend, which should give you "a chance for a timely reply". Any post there (like this one) that seems relevant to the current conversation will get pushed right to the front of the line and be published here at ASK GREG in a ramble (like this one).

That's my compromise. It's probably less-than-satisfactory, but it's the best I can offer at this time.

[I also want to state, that you've NOT been privy to the discussions between myself, Gorebash, Masterdramon and Todd. I have RESISTED taking even more draconian measures suggested by them and/or by others at Station 8, because as much as possible, I'd like ASK GREG to remain the open free-flowing forum it has been for like a decade or more now. The measures we are taking, draconian as they may seem, are still less draconian than they might be. But if I am forced to truly make the site rigid, then the fun will go out of it for me in the other direction, and I'll still wind up shutting it down anyway.]

Obviously, I'm not in the business of taking fans and making them "disgruntled (former) fan[s]", but I'm hoping you're a fan of THE WORK I do, more than a fan of me anyway. I mean, face it, you don't know me. I could be an axe-murderer. But if you like Gargoyles or W.I.T.C.H. or Spectacular Spider-Man or Young Justice (or whatever), then the work is the work is the work, and I'd hope you'd remain a fan of that work whether I'm a big of a jerk or not, whether Ask Greg existed or not and certainly whether or not I get to the answers to your questions in one month or six. I mean there have been times when I've been TWO YEARS (or more) behind in answering questions. This lag is nothing in comparison to that. But somehow the discourse associated with the whole thing seems... meaner. And I'm really, truly trying to keep my desire to maintain this site below the boil-over point.

I've been wondering afew things, and I'll try to make my question so that the answer doesn't reveal spoilers.
1) If you add Wonder Girl to the Young Justice team, why would you add Cassie? In my opinion, it would be like having two Miss Martians' to the team.
2) Don't you think Donna should have a spot on the team instead? She's been benched since about 2008, while Cassie is included in the reboot and all.

"But as I've said to others who already asked the same basic question, I think you're viewing what happened in terms too black and white. I do NOT think that Superman is behaving out of character. He's been violated and is having problems dealing with it, getting his head around it. He's found a rationale in his head to justify his behavior toward Superboy, that for now at least, is working for him. I'm not going to defend his actions, nor will I be unsympathetic to them. It is, by design, a complex problem.

And no real human being has perfect empathy. And Superman is nothing if he's not thoroughly human.

In any case, I doubt I'm going to convince you, so we'll just have to agree to disagree for now. Perhaps, if you stay tuned and see how this thread plays out, you'll appreciate it more. Or perhaps not."

1) Why have Miss Martian and Superboy been trying to keep their relationship a secret? They've kept their displays of affection as private as possible and they switched to private telepathic communication in "Alpha Male" when there were tensions in their relationship that needed to be addressed.

2) Why didn't M'gann tell Wally that she's been seeing Conner? Was it a case of her enjoying the attention he was giving her, or was it because she simply couldn't be bothered to set the record straight? (Either way, she was allowing him to make a fool of himself.)

An Ask Greg Helper responds...

Greg Weisman says:

"Two main reasons: (a) because it's something that belongs to them and they want it to themselves and (b) they don't want their judgement called into question on missions."

[Response recorded on April 18, 2012.]

Greg Weisman says:

"I think the main problem that these two have is that M'gann thinks its so obvious that Wally's not in the running that she hasn't bothered to tell him. She assumes he knows. But he's too dense to see the obvious. I'm not blaming her or him. It's just a disconnect . And disconnects are where drama, conflict and, yes, even comedy comes from."

3.If Superboy gets his powers from Earth's yellow sun does that mean he'll develop
Supermans other powers like heat vision and flight?

Greg responds...

1. Yes.

2. I don't know. English, I'd guess, just because he'd be VERY good at the others due to his G-Gnome education. But I don't actually think he's bad at English either.

3. He won't, but that's because of his human DNA.

1. Depends on what you count as a "date".

2. He likes all three, but he appreciates Aqualad's serenity.

3. Doesn't every great teacher?

Dear Mr Weisman,
Let me first say that I'm big Young Justice fan. I love the the character development seen in the show. I do have a few questions, though:
1. Will Laura Bailey or Troy Baker be voicing any character in the show?
2. Are Tula and Garth acquainted with Kaldur's mother (you know, seeing how close they were in Atlantis)?
3. I'm itching to ask if we get to see any Mathlete action from Robin/Dick in the show. But since that's probably a spoiler request, you can ignore the point. I just HAD to type it out.
4. Is Iris related to Wally's dad or his mother? Her maiden name name is West, which would mean she's Rudy's sister. However, she and Mary look so ridiculously alike that I had to ask this.
5. Wikipedia says that Logan Grove will be voicing Beast Boy in the show. Can you confirm or deny this?
To conclude, I'd like to thank you for the stellar voice cast you've put together for the show. Props to you, Brandon and Jamie Thomason!

Greg responds...

1. I'm afraid I'm unfamiliar with those names.

2. They've met.

3. Okay.

4. I don't see any particular resemblance between Mary and Iris. As you noted, Iris is Rudy's younger sister.

4. Well, he's voicing Garfield Logan. Beyond that, you can do the math.

Before I ask a question I just really wanted to say I really appreciate all the work you and all the other writers, voice actors, animators, etc. have been doing on the show Young Justice. I really loved W.I.T.C.H. when I was little, but by far young justice has been one of the best shows I've seen in years. My comic book knowledge is pretty limited, but I love this show and all the characters in it. Thank you for all the work you've done, the fans of your shows really appreciate it.
I was really sad when young justice went on break, but the new episode Misplaced did not disappoint despite the wait. I only have one question that I had not seen in the unanswered questions or archieves yet, but if I missed it I owe you a thousand apologies.
1. When Billy Batson first switched over to the adult dimension by becoming captain marvel, why did the plane disappear? It seemed slightly bizarre since all the other cars seemed to exist in both dimensions, so I was wondering if there was any specific reason for its disappearance?
Thank you for taking the time to answer all the questions on Ask Greg, and I cant wait to see young justice next week!

Greg responds...

1. The plane only disappeared from Billy/Cap's perspective. From the perspective of Adultworld, it didn't disappear; it was right where it always was, i.e. back in the hangar in Fawcett City.

What were the creative reasons that lead you to choose to write "Misplaced" personally/

Greg responds...

Oh, a few things.

1. The complexity of it made it challenging for me - which is something I look for - but also would have made it difficult for a freelancer to take on and nail the vision I had in my head. So in a way it saved time to write it myself.

Plus there were a number of specific aspects that interested me, including:

2. The "death" of Zatara and its effect on Zatanna.

3. The advancement of the Wally/Artemis relationship.

4. The fact that the kids on Kidworld were actually handling the crisis better than the adults on Adultworld.

5. The advancement of Billy's storyline.

6. The visual of Batman talking to Aqualad 'directly' despite the fact that the audience knows that Billy/Cap is being used as a go between. I like that arty stuff.

7. The mix of humor, action and tragedy is always fun to write.

8. The fact that Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Twinkle and ABC have the same tune.

9. I'm fascinated with mob mentalities and demagogs. So, for example, if you've read or seen Castaway's speech to the Quarrymen recruits in "Nightwatch/The Journey" you'll recognize a similar technique in Crusher's rants at STAR LABS here.

10. The timeline: telling a story. Starting over and telling it again from another perspective and then merging it.

11. The dual world idea.

12. And ultimately, not just because it was a classic Young Justice story to adapt, but because it's SUCH a perfect story for a show about teen heroes, I couldn't resist.

There's probably more, but a dozen reasons will do for now.

Hi there! This isn't actually a question, but it's the only way I saw of contacting Greg. I just wanted to say thank you for creating Gargoyles and thank you for making such a rich, elaborate show. Your cartoon formed a big chunk of my childhood, and the storytelling introduced me to so many different aspects of the world of fantasy. It was my favorite thing to watch when I was little. I hope this gets passed along and you get to see it. This show just means a lot to me.

Greg responds...

Thank you for the kind words, Briget. It meant a lot to me to. Still does.

1. Thanks.

2. No. Marvin White and Wendy Harris are not siblings.

3. Well, I voice the adult Snapper, i.e. Lucas Carr, the Happy Harbor High Civics teacher.

4. Thanks.

Dear Greg,
Congrats on the return of Young Justice! And damn, what a return! First off, thank you for adapting the first story of the original YJ! And it was damn good! Thank you, thank you. Now for other things I liked about it, I loved the design on the Riddler, very classy. Also, appearances by Blackbriar, Faust, Wizard, all cool. And Zatara, holy crap that was awesome! Now onto a few random questions;
1-One thing I enjoyed about the original World Without Grown-Ups was the teen ehroes dealing with kids who went crazy. Had you more time in the episode, would you have shown some clips of kids doing stupid stuff?
2-How did you guys approach the deisgn for Riddler? Cause again it was an awesome deisgn.

Greg responds...

1. We did, actually. There's a scene that we even animated where two tweens are joyriding in a speedboat and nearly get themselves killed, but Aqualad saves their bacon. (It's part of the sequence where Superboy saves the toddler from a crashed car and Miss Martian scares off the taggers. But it got cut for time.

2. I give full credit to Phil and Brandon on this. My main role was to walk in and fawn over it after it was done.

More Ask Greg Angst

Okay, I clearly messed up. Previously, I posted a guideline mandating a ten question max per post, and yesterday in my mind I changed it to five - and guilty of what I accuse others of - I did not check to confirm. So I'm here to (a) admit my mistake and (b) live with it - as we all will have to from here on out.

If in my head, the number shrank from ten to five, it's most likely because my patience has ebbed since I posted the ten question limit. Ten seems like a huge amount now - though lower than the twenty-questions-in-one-post that triggered the current guideline change. Frankly, FIVE seems like more than plenty per post, but I realize it's silly to require multiple posts on the same topic when questions are closely related, and five (or thereabouts) seems like a reasonable number.

So I do apologize for the error. But I'm not changing the new policy.

I have talked to Gorebash and our two moderators about updating the rules/guidelines on the front page, and that should be done in the next couple days.

ASK GREG angst

I just posted the following on the Station 8 Comment Room Page, and thought I should post it here too:

Just to be clear, there's NO point in being angry with the ASK GREG moderators. They are simply doing what I asked them to do. So be mad at me, not them. And, frankly, please don't be mad at me either. Try to remember that I'm doing the best I can dealing with an increasingly difficult situation.

And by the way, I have said MULTIPLE TIMES, including RIGHT BEFORE we reopened the queue to new questions, that I didn't want more than five questions per post. There's simply no way anyone could have posted any questions in the current queue before I stated this guideline. I'll admit that this is not listed on the rules on the front page - and we should probably update that when Gorebash has the time - but it has been stated by me over and over again. And I have asked people to check the archives before posting, so it seems to me, that this guideline was available. So maybe I should feel more sympathy, but I just don't.

I'll admit one reason I'm getting harsher on this - and feel less sympathetic towards even folks who are attempting (but failing) to obey the rules and guidelines - is as an alternative to something worse. Yes, all this is due to the abuse of the system by some people, and, yes, there's no doubt that all are suffering for the abuse of some. But there are worse alternatives, I would think. As I find myself getting more and more frustrated and more inclined to shut ASK GREG down entirely, I feel like being a bit more draconian about the rules and guidelines is the lesser of two evils.

And I have NOT outlawed the age questions. But I don't want lists of them. It's EXTREMELY time consuming, because I have to look it up, since I don't keep that information in my head. I can't just answer off the cuff in my free time. I get the value of the question, and I've tried to answer them. But someone posting a list of TWENTY characters and asking for ALL their ages is abusing the system, in my opinion. And ultimately, on ASK GREG, everyone needs to get used to the idea that my opinion matters. I don't have to do this. I used to enjoy doing it, and at times I still do. But the whole thing feels like it's gotten out of control, and I begrudge it more and more these days. So unless the goal is to TRY to push me over the edge, i.e. to try to exercise the power of the internet to force me to SHUT the site down, then everyone needs to live with the ups and downs of the thing, even as I am struggling to do the same.

To be clear, I AM not looking for feedback on this post - even positive feedback. Churlish as it may sound, I'm not looking for a bunch of cheerleaders to say "YOU TELL 'EM, GREG!" Because I'm not taking any pleasure in taking this site into an area of more and more rules. I LIKED that we used to have a few simple guidelines, and that otherwise the thing was more free form. It kills me EVERY TIME I have to add to the restrictions. That's not what I ever wanted Ask Greg to be. But I suppose times have changed, and the site has to change with them.

Finaly, I have NO interest in having a "PREVIOUSLY DELETED QUESTIONS" page. Feels like a legal problem just waiting to happen.

But back to the start, please do not take out your ire on the moderators. They're simply doing what I've asked.

The split worlds was a nice idea but I was wondering just how did it work when they re-merged?

For example if a car was destroyed in one world and not in the other what would happen to the car when the worlds were merged again?

Had one of the adults worn the Helmet of Fate during the battle with the Sorcerors what would've happened after the worlds re-merged? Would there have been two Dr. Fate's or would one of the host's been chosen at random to keep the helmet suddenly?

An Ask Greg Helper responds...

We've just seen "Misplaced", and it was absolutely fantastic. I'll admit, I was worried about the "no adults theme", but I think it was a very original take on what some might call an overused trope. It was brilliant, original, and exciting, so kudos to you!

Another thing, congratulations on answering all your Ask Greg questions prior to March 3rd, and good luck with all the rest! Also, congratulations on Young Justice: Legacy! It's great to see Young Justice's success, you and the rest of the cast and crew definitely deserve it! It's a fantastic show.

On to a couple of questions;

1) The credits at the end of the episode appear to be incorrect, and are that of a future one. Would you be able to post the proper credits? I'd love to see who voiced Gordon, as well as Billy Batson.

2) The opening titles have been replaced with a single titlecard reading "Young Justice". Was this a decision made purely by yourself/crew, or did the change come around as a result of the DC Nation programming block?

Thanks very much for creating such a fantastic show, and I hope Cartoon Network has the sense to continue asking you for new seasons, because Young Justice - very honestly - is the best animated television series Cartoon Network has ever had. In fact, it's the only reason I watch CN! Thanks again. :)

An Ask Greg Helper responds...

Greg Weisman says:

"YOUNG JUSTICE Episode #19 ('Misplaced') Credits
So... aren't we off to a good start?!

Can a man simultaneously be sarcastic and not?

Anyway, I was mostly thrilled with the premiere of DC NATION, but obviously frustrated that CN attached the WRONG episode's credits. So without further ado:

YOUNG JUSTICE Episode #19 ('Misplaced') Credits:"

Hey Greg! You are doing a great job on Young Justice. I just had a couple questions:
1. Are Bette and Barbara good friends? They are around each other a lot
2. This might sound stupid but, does anyone on the team (besides the mole) know who the mole is but, there hiding it for whatever reason.
3. are Green Arrow and Black Canary getting serious in their relationship?
4. Are Superboy and Miss Martian getting serious with, their relationship?
5. In Misplaced when some of the team went home to see thier parents and or relatives, why didn't we see Miss Martian reuniting with, John or Kaldur with, his mother or King Orm?

Greg responds...

1. Not particularly. Barbara's a freshman. Bette's a sophomore.

2. SPOILER REQUEST. NO COMMENT.

3. See issues 20 and 21 of the YJ companion comic. (And, yes, that was a SPOILER REQUEST, but I like to pimp the comic.)

4. Define serious.

5. There wasn't screen time to show EVERY possible reunion.

I have questions about Atlanteans.

1) Do Atlanteans eat their seafood raw? I don't see fires being lit underwater unless they have a special way of cooking food underwater.

2) Do all Atlanteans have a set of gills and a pair of lungs to breathe underwater and above the surface?

3) How was Kaldur's first experience breathing surface air? Did he choke/gasp or did he transition smoothly?

Greg responds...

1. I would think for the most part, raw. But they have means of cooking should they want to. (Hot spring type things.)

2. Most do.

3. I'm sure it was a shock to the system, at least a little.

Now, see, this post was great. THREE questions, all on a similar topic. None previously asked or answered. And no request for a spoiler. Perfect.
